ProgrammingRe: From A Nairalander - Internet Zero (Free Internet From Facebook Zero) by henryobinna(m): 12:09pm On Aug 25, 2014
davidsmith8900: But do u know how to access Facebook Zero? Here is the link for that ~> https://0.facebook.com . Facebook Zero (is zero data charges but it is only text-based. Once you click on images/pictures, it is no longer free). Still, I think the op made a software that connects Facebook Zero to other websites or web apps so now if you don't have money to browse the internet or you dont have money for credits but you want to see whats going on the internet or you want to do a google search or you want the latest news, or you want to apply to a job in a different area or u want to come on Nairaland or you want to play games and you don't have the money, you can use the op's app, that connects Facebook Zero to these other websites or web apps for free, but it is all text-based.
nice thing... I'll like it... he should make it available then. I don't think it'll work with the game aspect since its all text based

WebmastersRe: Internet Zero (Accessing Free Internet - Text Only Browsing Using Facebook Zero) by henryobinna(m): 11:27am On Aug 25, 2014
toshodei: Ive come up with a way (software) to access the internet (Free Internet With Only Text Browsing, because images/pictures will cost data charges) through Facebook Zero (https://0.facebook.com). There is also 'Twitter Zero' according to this ~> http://techcrunch.com/2014/05/29/twitters-emerging-market-strategy-includes-its-own-version-of-a-facebook-zero-like-service-called-twitter-access/ . Still, my only problem is that I dont know what most Nigerians (or all Africans in general) use the internet for, since there is no data online concerned with this demographic. Do many use it for:

A. Communication/Sharing/Socializing?
B. Looking for Jobs?
C. Getting News or Information around the world?
D. Gaming?
E. Education?
F. Entertaiment, Movies & Videos?
G. Buying a product or Consumerism?
H. Something else?

So Im interested if people can give me a feedback on what they use the internet for, as well as how people feel about accessing free internet (With Only Text Browsing) through https://0.facebook.com or https://0.twitter.com . Thank You, Good Morning Everybody, Happy Monday & Have A Great Successful Week Ahead.
for me I use the internet for information n some little download.
and what is that your software?
ProgrammingRe: From A Nairalander - Internet Zero (Free Internet From Facebook Zero) by henryobinna(m): 11:24am On Aug 25, 2014
davidsmith8900: Im thinking that what the op means is that if you HAVE MONEY and want to use facebook to see images and do the regular things, then go to regular www.facebook.com or m.facebook.com. However if u DON'T HAVE MONEY and u want to browse the internet, or get some info from the internet or see who is hiring or to play games or to download things, then u can do that for free by using the app/software which uses facebook zero (0.facebook.com). Like not everybody has enough money to access to the internet all the time.
bro what's the software

RomanceRe: Should A Woman Have A Side Guy In Case Of Disappointment By Her Main Man? by henryobinna(m): 4:08pm On Aug 23, 2014
lalasticlala: My cousin sister called me sometime ago, that she would wanna see me. I asked her where she was, she told me to meet her at a fast food joint. About an hour later, I was there. I met her in company of a her very pretty friend and one guy.

I fixed my eyes more on her friend and took few glances at the guy. I noticed that the guy actually took them out because of my cousin. But I was worried.
My worry stemmed from the fact that I knew my cousin's man, as in her fiance or something and the guy I saw with her was definitely not the guy I knew.
I said to myself, may be it's just a harmless date.

Later, I asked my cousin About her main guy, she said he's OK. Then she made me understand that the guy I met with her was just a new friend that likes her and wants a date. I asked her what her answer was since she already has a guy.
She bluntly and confidently told me that she can't put her eggs in one basket.
" Hey!! bros, I can't put my eggs in one basket, what if Chucks disappoints me tomorrow and decides to marry another girl? I will just keep this guy as a 'side guy' in case of disappointments ooo!!"
These were her exact words.

I burst out in laughter. Shuooooo!!! I thought that it's only some few guys that have "side chicks".

Well, I tried to encourage her to maintain just one guy at a time since Chucks, her main guy has shown sign of seriousness in their relationship. But she wouldn't hear of that.

So babes, what's your take on having a "side guy" in case of disappointment? Does it worth it?
What of in the course of having the so called "side guy" and the main guy discovers and she loses the main guy or even loses both guys?

If a babe must have a side guy in case of 'disappointment', how would she go about it? Would there be sex with the side guy?
OP abeg tell me, which jazz you dey use make frontpage na. or you fit write ebook on 'how to make frontpage on NL' I'll gladly buy

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Good News! Immigration Set To Recruit 5,000 Officers by henryobinna(m): 9:08am On Aug 23, 2014
abu12: http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2014/08/23/immigration-set-to-recruit-5000-officers/

The Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, on Friday said the Federal Government planned to recruit 5,000 officers into the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) over the next five years.

Moro said this in Abuja at the 2014 Comptroller-General’s annual conference and stakeholder’s forum in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the service.
The two-day conference organised by the service is themed: “Effective Border Control Systems and Procedures for National Security”.

He said recruitment was aimed at enabling the service to increase the number of officers manning the country’s 4,400 square kilometer borders.
“The fact that we have fewer than 23,000 immigration officers manning our very long stretch of border means there is need to add more men into the service.
“We owe Nigeria and Nigerians the duty of securing our borders in spite of the security challenges the country is facing now,” he said.

He said due to the extensive responsibilities of the service, the ministry was committed to supporting it towards being a world class migration management organisation in technologically-driven society.
“The Nigeria Immigration Service has been participating actively in the fight against insurgency in the North East and cross border organised crimes and criminality.

“We have lost some officers in the line of duty but I am pleased to note that in spite of all odds and challenges, our officers and men are fighting on,” he said.
Moro urged the officers to be committed in their service delivery and ensure that they delivered on President Goodluck Jonathan’s charge to deliver travel documents to Nigerians within 24 hours.
He said that “business as usual” would no longer be tolerated, adding that corruption and extortion would be appropriately sanctioned.

Earlier, Comptroller-General of the NIS, David Parradang, called for the recruitment of at least 5,000 new officers annually into the service over the next five years.
He expressed concern over the unmanned 1,400 illegal border routes in the country, noting that, while there were only 84 approved land routes across the over 4,000 square-kilometre border, the over 1,400 illegal routes caused serious security implications for the country.
“NIS presently has a total of 22,321 staff and the enormous statutory obligations of the NIS coupled with emerging migration trends and trajectories make this number of personnel grossly inadequate.

“The un-demarcated and poorly marked borders make settlement of people in border communities intertwined and stringent control by the service apparently difficult.
He also called for the construction of border plazas equipped with radars, sensors, cargo and document scanners and modern border patrol aircraft, boats, vehicles and communication gadgets.
“Improved training and re-training of our personnel is also required to enable them cope with the dynamics of modern migration management.

“Given the enabling environment and the necessary support, the service can be placed on a better pedestal to guarantee a more improved performance,” he said.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Interior, Sen. Atiku Bagudu, and his House of Representatives counterpart, Rep. Umar Bature, as well as retired officers of the service attended the conference.
