Union Bank is actually the worst bank of them all. From their unprofessional security guards, tellers, customer service representatives to management level. Come monday, I am closing my account with them. Not dealing with there bullcrap anymore. A visit to a Union Bank(Outdated Building, to outdated network and archaic banking services), will take you 2 hours at least with situation not resolved.

INfact, I had been waiting for someone to mention this bank. I think UNION and UBA share the award for the WORST banks ever!

I was based on the island in Nigeria, and I think UNION BANK Awolowo rd and Chevron Lekki branches are totally crap. Always the same issue - server down. Seems their server is mostly down than up, lol! I dreaded cashing cheques there, waiting endlessly for them to "confirm" signature before paying. Once, one of their staff even had the effontery to question me about what the money was for before paying me!

The nonsense we have to put up with in Naija, all in the name of banking.

NYSC camp is not as horrible as you think. Since you will be going to naija from Canada (am guessing that from ur previous post), you will most likely end up in Lagos or Abuja. And those camps are well organised compared to others because na places like dat "big men pikin" de serve.

I served in the far north and even tho I complained every single day in camp, looking back now, it was one of the sweetest experiences of my life. If I had the chance, I would defo do it again!

NB: I dont know where you heard that they ask for high school diplomas and all that. All you need is your call-up letter and your Uni certificate/transcript or a letter from your school confirming graduation.

I support mrs oyibo. Guy, I wont lie to you, people here who even have work permits are returning home in droves. It just isnt easy in UK anymore, especially with this recession. And UK government is seriously tightening immigration rules now, thus making it much harder for foreigners to get employed.

So, my advice for you - if you have something good in naija, better siddon there!

Even I couldn't have envisaged a visit by men of the underworld when I started this thread over a week ago.

Precisely Thursday night/Friday morning, I woke up to the sound of a bang downstairs, I looked through the window and couldn't see anyone but I was hearing people talking in the compound. I kept wondering who it was when I heard someone say 'break am', then I knew there were thieves in the compound. I ran to my sister's room and I overhead her husband on the phone describing our location and I knew they were aware. Needless to say, under the circumstances, we resorted to praying. We also made calls to people we knew, not sure how they could help. Many called the police, who thankfully arrived on time, in fact, about 3 different sets came one after the other. They didn't catch the thieves because they ran when they heard the gunshots that were being fired as the police approached.

We were all visibly shaken after the incident but are grateful to God that we live to tell the tale without any harm to anyone.

I sympathize with you, ajanlekoko. Unfortunately, I have only flown AirFrance twice so I dont really have much experience with them. But those 2 flights seemed quite ok to me. Infact, on the 2nd one, their inflight entertainment had some probs and I got a £30 dutyfree voucher as compensation.

Now if you want to talk about crap airlines, try Virgin Atlantic. I have never had a smooth flight with them, always one issue or the other!
