The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested the Accountant General of Imo State, Uzoho Casmir, for allegedly helping the Governor, Rochas Okorocha, to launder N1.05bn for Saturday's Governorship and State House of Assembly elections, Igbere TV has learnt.

The allegations were contained in an EFCC situation report which was sighted by Igbere TV on Friday.

Okorocha, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is supporting his son-in-law, Nwosu of the Action Alliance (AA) against the governorship candidate of the APC, Senator Hope Uzodinma.

Igbere TV recalled that the act earned Okorocha a suspension from the party last week.

Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu has sacked three of the 17 Local Government Chairmen in Abia and appointed their replacements, Igbere TV can authoritatively report.

This is coming less than two weeks after their appointment as Transition Committee Chairmen, and less than 48 hours to the March 9 Governorship and State House of Assembly election in the state.

The affected local government councils were Arochukwu, Osisioma and Isuikwuato. The chairmen appointed to oversee them were unceremoniously removed last week and immediately replaced.

Though the governor did not make public the reasons for their removal.

However, a close source to the governor told Igbere TV that the affected chairmen had refused to endorse the governor's re-election bid.

The source, who doesn't want him name mentioned, added that “they were not seen as trusted PDP members who will deliver their council areas to the party because that was the reason the governor inaugurated the chairmen this time”.

Swearing-in the new chairmen, Governor Ikpeazu charged them to ensure electoral victory for the PDP in Saturday’s election in their respective councils.

According to him, the appointees were carefully chosen to intervene to bring stability and victory to the PDP in Saturday’s polls.

Ikpeazu, however, urged them to work closely with stakeholders and other members of the party in their areas to ensure victory for the party.

He also charged them to ward off external influences that may mar the conduct of Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly polls.

The Governor told the new Transition Chairmen that their appointment was a stepping stone for greater opportunities to serve the state in future and wished them well.

Responding on behalf of his colleagues, the transition committee chairman of Isuikwuato council, Mr. Chima Agbaeze thanked the Governor for the opportunity given them to serve and pledged not to disappoint him.

Reliable source at the Police Headquarters Umuahia can confidently confirmed to Igbere Tv that embattled Senator Mao Ohuabunwa of the PDP who lost in the Febuary 23rd National Assembly elections of Abia-North Senatorial district is currently in Police custody under the State CID Umuahia to answer questions bothering on his in involvement in the kidnap, rigging and destruction of result sheets during the National Assembly elections.

This confirms earlier report, by Igbere TV that the Nigerian Police had threatened to declare him(Ohuabunwa) wanted if he failed to report to answer questions over his involvement in electoral crimes and malpractices.

The PDP Senator who lost in the February 23rd National Assembly elections arrived the police headquarters today around 3:30 PM.

The case involved one Dr. Ibe an INEC official currently in police custody who was arrested over result falsification, thumbprinting and other related electoral frauds.

Dr. Ibe admitted to have torn a result sheet on the instruction of Senator Mao Ohuabunwa.

A DPO and inspector that were also invited for interrogation over the electoral crime had already made useful statement to the police, they also identified two security aides of Senator Mao who were also involved in the crime with one of them still at large.

Corps members who were also arrested by the police while thumbprinting in the bush also confessed that they were kidnapped and forced to carry out the act under the instruction of Senator Mao Ohuabunwa.

The Police headquarters Umuahia have also vowed to get to the root of the matter and prosecute all those involved by making sure that they face full weight of the law if found culpable.

It can be recalled that Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu a former Governor of the State polled a total 31,203 votes to defeat the incumbent, Ohuabunwa who polled 20,801 votes and the candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance Chief David Ogba who scored 11,410 votes.

The other key contenders in the race have since congratulated Kalu, declaring the election to be free and fair.

A Federal High Court Sitting In Jalingo has on Wednesday, March 6 (today) disqualified the Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Sani Danladi, in Taraba State over false declaration of his age, Igbere .

According to reports gathered by Igbere Tv, Mr. Danladi would not participate in the upcoming Saturday’s election.

Report reaching Igbere TV news desk right now is that there are on going thumbprinting of ballot papers in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State.

This is coming barely 3 days to the March 9 Governorship and State House of Assembly elections in the state.

Sources told Igbere TV specifically that the ballot papers are being thumb printed in the home of one Chief Greg Ibe, in Isuikwuato Local Government.

Chief Ibe is a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia state.

Igbere TV reliably gathered that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, began the distribution of sensitive and non-sensitive materials across the country on Tuesday.

The source who doesn't want his name mentioned in this report, further alleged that the thumbprinting exercise is also being carried out in Aba North LGA, and will be repeated in the homes of several chieftains of the party across the state.

He also revealed that workers in the local government have been asked to come to work tomorrow inbIsuikwuato LGA with their respective Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

Meanwhile, it has been further alleged that the major mandate of the newly appointed Transition Chairman of Isuikwuato Local Government is to ensure PDP's victory in the council at all cost.

The source, however, revealed that the people of the locality have vowed to resist the move.

With what I experienced this morning onboard Air Peace, there is need not only to report negative News but also report good ones especially those that will serve as an encouragement to those concerned.

I traveled to Lagos yesterday on board Airpeace. It was an afternoon flight and was also a smooth ride.

Having executed my assignment, I left to return to base on board Airpeace. The flight was 7:10 am though we left around 7:15am.

Midway to Owerri, the voice,this time around, a male voice and to be specific,the voice introduced himself as the Captain, the Commander in Chief of the flight (5N- BUQ).

The voice came thus: "Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen, I am not happy with the behavior of the signal from the flight equipment and the best thing is to return back to Lagos Airport. Please stay put and wait for further instructions. Thank you". The voice faded away.

At this juncture,some of passengers started making noise while some started panicking real time.

It became clear that the Aircraft has developed real time fault and the People deemed it wise to consider safety first by returning back to the Airport.

Be it known to you that some People either lack of proper consciousness for safety or not in good frame of mind might decide to continue the journey especially when we have already gone almost half the journey. Some would have considered that going back will mean waste of fuel or because of that they may miss an appointment,(who knows) but Capatin Enahoro of Flight P47150 Y with plate Number 5N-BUQ deemed it fit to consider the safety of more than 100 Owerri bound passengers including me(lol) First.

I thank God for the wisdom and commend the Pilot for being safety conscious.

At the Airport, we were switched to another plane with plate Number 5N- BUL though some passengers out of fear refused to join us... LoL.

This is one of the experiences we have in the field chasing a course we so much believe in.

Thanks to God as we landed safely at Owerri after the little challenge."

Igbere TV has obtained exclusive details of the closed door meeting between two front runners in the Abia State governorship election, Alex Otti of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Uche Ogah of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at an undisclosed location yesterday.

According to an impeccable source who spoke with Igbere Tv on the condition that she will not be named, the meeting is aimed at forming an alliance between both parties to produce a consensus governorship candidate ahead of the March 9, 2019 gubernatorial election in the state to defeat the incumbent governor Okozie Ikpeazu of PDP.

Our source said there are green lights but the parties are yet to work out all the details of the understanding…

“Most of the other details have been agreed on but the critical question of who to step down could not be resolved as at the end of the last meeting” our source said.
