https://lnaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Election-2.jpg Ijaw Youths under the umbrella of the Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide has condemns the postponement of the 2019 general elections that was scheduled to take place on February 16, 2019. The group has described the postponement as a cause that might brought upon the nation a disaster. According to a statement issued and signed by Alfred Kemepado, the group Secretary General, in Yenagoa, IYC described the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as a monumental shame for Nigeria and the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration. “Furthermore, he cautioned the federal and all stakeholders not to fall prey to the evil advises of not letting a free and fair elections that will be reflective of what Nigerians would speak with their PVCs" the statement reads. Mr Alfred Kemepado also called on Professor Mahmood Yakubu, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to consider himself for resignation instead bringing shame and crisis upon the nation. https://lnaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/f5ba4bd6-inec-election-ballot-box.jpg The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kogi state said the commission had started withdrawing all sensitive election materials issued out earlier for the 2019 general elections scheduled to hold today but was postponed by a week. Ahmed Biambo, the INEC Director of Voter Education and Publicity in Kogi state, who disclosed this to newsmen in Lokoja on Saturday said that the materials were being returned back to all the local government offices of INEC. "Further directive was being awaited on whether to return the sensitive materials to the Central Bank of Nigeria or to the police armory for safe keeping," he said. According to Mr. Biambo, the office has also ordered immediate transportation of all the ad hoc staff, especially National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members back to their bases. "The office did not receive ballot papers for the Kogi East senatorial election until about 2am when the election was suddenly postponed," he said. https://lnaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Atiku-2019-551x367.jpg Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said President Buhari’s yesterday's broadcast to Nigerians is not presidential address to the nation but a farewell speech. In a statement through his special assistant on publication, Phrank Shaibu, on Thursday, February 14, Atiku Abubakar faulted what he described as the president’s attack on the opposition in his nationwide broadcast. “We see President Muhammadu Buhari’s attack on the opposition in his nationwide broadcast, Thursday night, as part of the many gaffes which have come to define last days of the Buhari Presidency, rather than an address to be taken seriously by Nigerians," he said. Atiku Abubakar also said President Buhari’s negative comments against opposition party in his nationwide broadcast does not reflect the attributes of a leader who is seeking for another term in office. The statement from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate noted that a review of comments on President Buhari’s Facebook page to the broadcast shows that many Nigerians were advocating for a new government. The statement reads; "When you compare these to the comments on H.E Atiku’s page to his Facebook Live broadcast this morning, the contrast could not be greater. The final verdict is in the hands and fingers of the millions of voters this Saturday," “As our candidate H.E Atiku said in his final message of the campaign ‘Even if you are not voting for me, still come out to vote on Saturday. It is about Nigeria, not Atiku Abubakar. It is about you and your future.’” “So, we appeal to every eligible voter to express their will and contribute to our democracy.” Source; https://lnaija.com/your-nationwide-broadcast-is-a-farewell-speech-atiku-tells-president-buhari/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique |

Asari Dokubo, a former militant leader, has slams the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, for calling on the members of the group to boycott the forthcoming 2019 presidential election. In a video he shared on Asari Dokubo's official Facebook page, he accused Kanu of deceiving the members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and leading them to their death while he goes behind to collect money and other benefits from those that are working against the group. He further stressed that boycottting the election will not do the group any good as they would have according to him, lost an opportunity to ''pay President Muhammadu Buhari back for the death of all their members killed since this administration came into office''.
