In a statement he gave during a recent interview monitored by Igbere Tv, the officer said he only shot once in an attempt to arrest a suspected cultist in Mangoro Lagos. “We heard a distress call that we should move to Mangoro. So, on getting there, we saw a group of guys smoking Indian hemp. We thought they’re cultists and effected an arrest there. “Suddenly, they mobbed us, me and my boys. A High Court sitting in Owerri, the Imo State capital has struck out suits brought by a Chief Myke Ikoku and Mr. Leonard Okolienta challenging the nomination of Ugwumba Uche Nwosu as the governorship candidate of the Action Alliance, Igbere TV reports. Dismissing the suits, the presiding judge, Hon Justice T.N Nzeukwu agreed with the counsels to the Action Alliance, Malachy Nwaekpe esq and Ms. Sharon Anyaduba that Ugwumba Uche Nwosu was duly nominated in line with the Constitution of the Action Alliance, thereby dismissing their suits for lack of merit and being statute barred. Igbere TV recalls that Chief Myke Ikoku, who is the governorship candidate of the YDP and Mr. Leonard Okolienta had instituted different suits challenging the nomination of His Excellency Ugwumba Uche Nwosu as the governorship candidate of the AA, however, the court averred that the issue of nomination of candidates for elective positions is entirely an internal affair of a political Party and awarded a cost of 200,000 Naira against Chief Myke Ikoku.
