Go and take the ophthalmology residency habdbook,then take the uniben optometry dept prospectus and compare both of them....
Ur residents spend two yrs studying things a 200 level student in optometry already knows...If they are not afraid let them let optometry graduates write their primary exams with them and then see if any of them will get a residency slot....
A good 500 level student of optometry will easily teach ur senior part 2 resident everythibg in their handbook with the exception of microsurgery....
