Romance / Re: Naija Guyz And Foreign Accent What For? by Hila12(m): 5:22pm On Mar 19, 2015 |
ronald4lif: There are many linguists in Nigeria today and yes they speak many languages decently and coherently - would you say an IBO man who speaks yoruba speaks fake yoruba? People pick accents faster than others and just because many migrants in the US/UK have their mother accents after several years doesn't mean they aren't many others who speak British or American correctly. There's no big deal with a foreign accent, if you can learn yoruba, Ibo and hausa - then you could also learn the british accent or American. It's all about passion and interest. |

Everyone has right to freedom of speech (a personal choice). People learn accents for different purposes - career breakthrough in 'mainstream' industries especially (movie, music, marketing etcetera) - as job placements in these industries are highly competitive and aspirants must stand out in anyway they can (being able to speak in foreign accent is an advantage over contemporaries). Some other people learn accents as a hobby, and that's being creative if you ask me. However, if you must do an accent make sure you do it right! Do the needed research so you don't sound like a clown, and it's just stupid to learn accents for the sole purpose of 'condescending' (really cheap). Accents go with every language, if you want to learn Spanish be prepared to speak in spanish accent - if French be prepared to speak in a french accent - if British English be prepared to speak in a british accent - and if Yoruba be prepared to speak in a yoruba accent. Nothing wrong learning and perfecting an accent...too many laws in the world if you ask me lol. People should do what interests them. People speaking in different accents to you shouldn't make you feel inferior - rather makes you unique! Much love! |
Romance / Re: Guys honestly! Would you marry a white woman for LOVE? by Hila12(m): 8:43pm On Mar 17, 2015 |
LoveDecay: I know all of that above. But not every Nigerian guy would want to marry into foreign cultures hence the question. Would you? |
Religion / Re: List Of Richest Pastors In The World, Nigeria Represents Well!! by Hila12(m): 8:08pm On Mar 17, 2015 |
Kudos to them. But let's swap generations - would Jesus Christ have made the list? And if he wouldn't have , then it probably would be for reasons oblivious to entrepreneurs (pastors) of today. Just saying! 2 Likes |

Amefrica: It's not a question of right or wrong. It's more of whether you would or not. It's a personal thing. |

Amefrica: Sorry but that wasn't shiit in anyway - it's just a simple question. It's a good thing you would marry for love - but not every Nigerian thinks like you hence my question. Cheers. |

Romance / Guys honestly! Would you marry a white woman for LOVE? by Hila12(m): 5:40pm On Mar 17, 2015 |
It is indeed common to see naija guys marry 'white women' for citizenship, green cards and all kind of reasons (maga) nowadays. But apart from the reasons stated above, would you monogamously marry a white woman for love? Spend the rest of your life with them? PS: Let's assume you indeed rich as a Nigerian and don't need 'oyibo' money. |

Has life been unfair to you? Do you despair cause of life disappointments? Well listen! Life is not all sunshine and rainbows. To many it's turned out to be a mean and nasty place, and I don't care how tough you think you are, life will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. Life as unfair as it may seem could hit you, break you and stretch your limit, but remember - It's not how hard you been hit that matters, but how you pick yourself up, keep pushing and bounce back - that's how winning is done! So, if there's something you truly desire go for it without doubt, and put in the effort to get that which pleases your heart; persistently and with absence of fear. To be successful whatsoever you must be willing to take the hit life throws especially on the road to success - and not be pointing fingers saying 'him, her or anybody' is the reason you are underachieved - cowards do that and that ain't you! You are no coward; you are courageous and fearless! You either live your dream or lose out completely; either defeat your fears or be consumed in fear - a decision you must make to enable your life blossom into something truly special. 'In the very hands of man lie his destiny'. Up to you! *To you is gifted an unbreakable soul - Don't give up!

Romance / Re: Ladies! Which is sexier - The British Or American Accent? by Hila12(m): 11:43pm On Mar 11, 2015 |
rago:Brits regardless of their accents understand themselves pretty well. So why you tripping lol. Brits are not too serious...They are true to the language and what works for them. I understand you prefer the American accent for the reasons you stated - but some people don't like the American accent for similar reasons too. We all different and have individual preferences. Cheers. |
Romance / Re: Ladies! Which is sexier - The British Or American Accent? by Hila12(m): 11:21pm On Mar 11, 2015 |
rago:The Queen speaks 'posh' and also do many brits of royal lineage. RP is used on BBC because it's easily understood by people who learned English as a second language. There are stronger English accents that BBC refuse to promote - because only the locals understand them. Even in the US, the accents vary from West coast to East coast and beyond. A New Yorker sounds different to someone from New Jersey. And someone from South Carolina sounds different from a typical Amish. |
