Pls how long does it take for bank to send telex
I've been debited for my form A

Within two weeks at the very most. That you have been debited does not mean the school has been credited automatically. Debiting you allows the bank to implement the particular bid rate for pounds in exchange for your naira (internal procedure). Once rate is settled by the bank (shouldn’t take long) remittance would be done to the school.

Telex usually bears the rate at which the exchange was done. Until the rate is settled (fractional differences at most) your telex would be out second.

It could be out in 2 days, 3, 4, 5…but at most two weeks. Just keep checking your submitted email.

You probably already have an idea of what range in rate was used, by manual calculation. Is it 580 yet?

Good day, please, I need to pay an application fee on UCAS... Do you have any suggestion on how to go about it?

(It's for PGCE)

(1) Use a prepaid dollar/pound/euro card from your bank—you could approach your bank’s in-branch customer service to request for one. You would need to fund the card at the bank with dollar/pound/euro bought from black market. Once done, you could use it online for payment.

(2) If you already have a domiciliary account before now, you could request for a dollar/pound/euro debit card on that account at the bank. If you don’t have a domiciliary account you could open one and request for a debit card on the account. Once issued, you would need to fund your domicilary account if there’s no/not enough money in it. Once done, you could use the card online for payment.

(3) Another option is to get someone you trust abroad (like close family, friend) to login to your UCAS profile on your behalf and make the payment with their foreign card. This would involve compromising your UCAS login details to such person (at your own risk and discretion). This may also involve you meeting their agreed terms of rendering such assistance (e.g paying such equivalent into their naira account, or at an agreed interest etc)

You decide.

Hello

During your visa application, you will need to take into consideration the exchange rate for that date which may or may not affect your current maintenance

Any statement you print should be used within 30days

I am unsure of what you mean by term tenor in this scenario but know that your POF is for your maintenance in the UK, any other arrangements is deceit and will attract a ban of 10years

ECOs are fully aware of the nonsense people do and you don't want to be used as a scape goat

Cheers

Thanks Duchess.

What I am actually asking is, should the funds remain in the account till the visa collection is ready?

Please assist anyone…

Edge Hill wants bank statement to issue CAS. Can I use the same POF (28 days running) for CAS issuance and visa application without increasing the tenor of the POF?

Or would I need to increase the tenor of the POF to see through the visa processing time?

Thanks in advance

The varying amounts you're seeing is because IHS is determined by the length of your study. Someone whose length of study is for 12months won't have the same IHS fee as someone whose length of study is for 15months.

Visa fee varies because some pay for standard while others pay for priority and super priority. Standard is the cheapest followed by priority then super priority.

Hi, just to clarify; is the ihs determined by the length of the course itself(start date to end date) or by the length of the entire study visa (start date to end date + added months)?

A 10 month course (sept/start date to june/end date) would pay £470 or £705?

Anyone for Edge hill university here?

Just want to know if bank statement was or is a pre-requisite for cas issuance once initial tuition deposit has been paid.

Thanks in advance for the gesture.

Hello all
Please I want to pay my fees this month by God grace,I don't have a uba account I use zenith and gtb,but it seems uba is faster.
Can I just withdraw my money and go to any uba branch and pay?

Can? Of course you can. Open a uba savings account with full documentation. Transfer the sum from your zenith/gtb account to the uba account. Go on the trade monitoring portal to request for form A. Form A fees payment is self service, just register on the portal, and log a form A request. Your uba account would be debited upon approval. You would be required to upload all supporting admission documents and passport bio data page, letter of consent to debit account and payment invoice.

PS: Make sure your BVN has no name discrepancy. Also ensure your active phone number is linked to your BVN (at the time you enrolled), cause OTP would be sent to that number to authenticate registration. If your active number is not linked to your BVN, you would need to do a BVN profile update at the bank you previously enrolled to update phone number

Allsmyles:

For upkeep via UBA, you’ll need to upload the following:
*Student ID card (front & back)
*student visa page
*BRP
*Passport bio data page
*CAS
*Admission letter and or anything that shows your living expenses (very important)
*finance plan (very important)
*Last school fees payment (telex copy would do)
*Bsc certificate

Just basically Upload documents you feel are in line. The 1st upkeep I did with UBA, I didn’t have to upload student ID card but the 2nd was rejected and I was asked to upload it.

But so far, I have been successful with the above list of documents.

Good luck

Please what exactly does the "finance plan" look like for upkeep, is it a document to be requested from the school, or it's just what I intend to do with the upkeep funds e.g rent etc ?

Anyone currently in or applied to edge hill University?

How fast are they with CAS though, and what's the average rent for a family of three pcm at Ormskirk or Preston?

Thanks in advance.

I greet the house...

Please I'm about to process CBN form A for school fee payment. I hear some banks are faster/slower than others in remitting funds to the university abroad. From experience, what banks remit without so much delay?

I really appreciate the advice, as I want to get my funds paid without too much delays.

No, they did not but I asked them for a letter that says they would.

Does it mean that once they agree to sponsor the maintenance £1270 (self) and £600 (wife and child) that we could literally access that fund upon request from the company once granted visa.

For example if I need all the money would they grant me after the Visa is secured?

Did your employer (skilled work visa sponsor) tick [maintenance] as part of your sponsorship offer. Or did you provide proof of fund when switching from tier 4

Thanks so much for your prompt response, I really appreciate it. Hope you're doing okay today...

I do have some other question(s) please...

(1) Going by your experience, it seems you didn't invoke the PSW visa at all upon completion of your PGCE, cause you got a skilled job with sponsorship right and there was no need right?

(2) I know the PGCE year is very intense. But reminiscing through your daily term time post-work routines and on weekends; were you more of the time ever so swamped that you barely had time to yourself, or for some bit of leisure? For example few hours on a Friday night etc I know time management is highly key for an aspiring NQT, were you 'robbed' of leisure?

(3) I know schools vary, but what time did you finish from school on the average during your placements, and how much time did you spend planning, marking etc once you got home. And when did you go to sleep on the average most days?

(4) Not like I intend to do part time work to survive or anything cause I've pretty much saved enough for maintenance funds for the academic year. However I would like to work a few hours during the weekend, say 4hours on Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday hypothetically. Do you think this is feasible or completely unrealistic considering all the overbearing workload etc that needs to be sorted out. Is it actually feasible to squeeze out such time?

(5) The burnout rate from teaching seems rather on the high side especially for NQTs, what can an aspiring NQT do to manage the stress and pressures on the job.

Thanks again, for taking the time to respond and give further insight. Thanks.

Table your queries, I would be glad to help. Studied PGCE Sec.Maths 2020-2021.

Hi Kaylov12. I hold an offer for secondary maths at edge hill University UK, sept 2022.

Please I have some questions and would really appreciate your input being very experienced in this regard...

(1) How long was the entire visa duration (the visa length). Was it 12 months, or 14months? For example if you started study Sept 2020, what month did the visa expire?

(2) The health surcharge paid during pgce visa application. Is the pgce course treated as less than 12 calendar months or equal to 12 calendar months? Because the costs are different.

(3) Studying a shortage subject, maths, are jobs offers with visa sponsorship very common or are they hard to come by, especially as one progresses to the second school placement.

(4) Are schools in the academic trust actually looking to sponsor a maths teacher in the actual sense, or is it just on paper?

I'll leave it here. I really appreciate your response and thanks very much in anticipation PS kindly help a curious brother. God bless you.
