I will advise you to consider other career paths. With your M.sc, you can only get 2 Lt and you "must" lead a team to war front when the need arises. In fact, your subsequent promotions will be based majorly on your performance on the field.

My advice to you is to keep being yourself. You can still help the young man if you have the means but NEVER contemplate continuing the relationship. I remember that day, when she was rude to a teacher and he gave her a portion of grass to cut on the school field as punishment.
