Christianity Etc › Re: Praise The Universe.... I Finally Became An Atheist! by histemple: 8:07pm On Feb 07, 2016 |
I so much believe that there is a higher being and in my definition, that is my God whom I serve daily and allow myself to be used by him to answer the prayers and aspirations of the downtrodden and the needy. And these I must continue to do as long as I am enabled and blessed to be the blessing.
However, I must admit with heavy heart that the preposterous disposition of religious people doesn't help to project their God in a positive light. These ignorant people always cover realities with religion and cover their deficiency with doctrines thereby discouraging so much people in confusion and frustration.
E.g How can a student start praying for success instead of reading for exams? How can super eagles be praying to win a match for which they never adequately prepared? Does it mean their opponents are enemies of God.
The self acclaimed pastors, apostles e.t.c are not even helping people to believe and love God. How can a CD of the gospel be sold for 450 while Davido sells his for 100 and you want people to stop listening to circular music. How can the same anointed water of 200 be sold in the church for 2,500 because it contains healing power that you claimed was freely given to you?
They have so much hypnotized the masses to the point that every African believes that there is a devil somewhere responsible for his/her misfortunes while anything God is as a result of the miracle from the powers of the pastor often referred to as DADDY.
Why is it that Africa has the highest concentration of churches but evil is increasing per second? |

RiloKiley: I became more authoritative. I ceased caring so much about her happiness and more about the goals for the family. If I see a particular venture will be good for all of us I go all out to get it. I stopped trying to discuss every little thing with her. I found out I was making her the centre of my happiness and unlike what I had heard and read about in romance novels instead of making her happy it seemed to be driving her away. So now I demand for things. I tell her why this will be good for the family and then i go ahead and do it. Its not my style at all. I'm the "lets talk and discuss about every little thing" kind of person. I believe a lot in romance (or used to, now not so much) but believe me I have gotten more results since then. She is definitely more respectful too. i think u should be more authoritative. Be the "man of the house" especially when it comes to things that you know will move the family forward. Warn her that the day she tries to fight u in public she will not like what will happen afterwards. Let her see you can be mental as well. She can be loud with her friends but not with u. Also if u feel the extra degree will boost the family income on the long run I think u should go ahead and do it. She will complain and nag but in the long run she'll be the one to boast outside later that her man has a Masters degree. And as long as u don't get abusive with the power. Let your Christian morals guide you. You are so spot on. You nailed it I swear. |

Nairasurplus: It is confirmed that First Bank of Nigeria Plc has sacked all their secretries in all their branches. The reason is that they are of no use to the bank. But why this time? Why were they employed at the first place? You can confirmed from any First Bank Staff.
Regards It's not surprising because the Secretaries do absolutely nothing. They don't even travel with the managers for meetings. Sometime in 2014, GTBANK sacked all its switchboard (Telephone) operators and handed over their functions to the Secretaries. Till date that seem like the only specified job function the Secretaries have. The truth is that the effect will be harsh on the affected and their dependants but the banks can be better without them. The only problem I have with the move is, they should redeploy those with relevant qualifications to other departments instead of sending them away and employing new hands. |

chocolateme: Be it the family company, government parastatal or any other firm, can a couple work in the same organization? The merits and demerits of it also can be considered too. Ok a situation where the husband or the wife is the CEO while the partner is the vice or assistant, can it lead to the effective and efficient running of the organization also considering the domestic part too. Switching from married couple to professional angle too. What about a situation where there are also pretty damsels with endowment blessings also working in the company or having such as her husband's PA while the wife works there. Can she be professionally tolerant and understanding even if its on a neutral ground. Can you work with your spouse in the same work place? I have read all the comments with keen interest and it appears most people are yet to understand the reasons why couples and blood related persons are discouraged from working in the same organisation. As a HR expert, let me give you the general consensus based on global best practices and they are as follows; 1, The possibility of compromising standards is high. 2, Emotions could becloud their sense of professionalism. 3, Selective favoritism and nepotism could take the place of required discipline. 4, It could negate efficiency in such sensitive departments as fraud detection, auditing, quality control etc because they want to protect their inefficient relations from troubled waters. 5, It can increase fraud rate. 6, They may bring their differences to the workplace and may not work together in synergy because of the animosity. 7, The woman/man may be easily distracted/infuriated by the suspected admirers of his/her spouse or relation. This could lead to loss of manpower or even cause friction. Etc. The list is endless. |

Strahovski1: I will take you serious when you post the other version of this directed at men as this is directed at women.
Besides a woman refusing control over her husband should not break a marriage it means there wasn't love in the first place. Today people have turned marriage into an obligation whether their love is true or not.. marriage! And that is when things like this come in.. why would a man be picky because he cannot control his wife? Did he marry her to control her? Also why would a woman be rude to her husband because she is in a higher position? There is no love.
Man, what makes marriage last is love.. not subjection or advanced slavery.. love is what keeps marriage. When there is love.. the woman would respect her hubby as the hubby will respect her. Not one sided subjection because one god commanded it. Smoking weed is bad I swear. |

Christianity Etc › Re: What Kind Of Pastor Is This? by histemple: 12:26pm On Jan 26, 2016 |
Nkasiobi87: Good morning everyone. If you have been reading my previous posts then you will know very well how my story has been. After getting a job and trying to ignore My husband'S cheating and other cruel characters towards me, he cheats with a female church member and promises her that he will marry her as a second wife.
After much talking which could not bring any positive results, I decided to let them be And mind my own business. He still enters my room when he feels like doing it with me. Now it happens that am 2Months pregnant after 5 kids. I told him about it he was happy at that given time. I then thought that maybe he will change this time to become a better father.
On Sunday while the morning prayer was going on, I couldn't stand up because I have started showing signs of pregnancy. I was feeling very anemic so I decided to sit down. My husband came out and stopped the prayer and started saying that I sat down because I wanted to show his mistress that am pregnant and that am doing drama for her mistress, something that I have never thought of doing. He started calling me all sorts of names all to calm the mistress down incase she notices that am pregnant. All to show the mistress that he is not happy with me being pregnant. All to make me feel bad and not happy of my condition.
While the congregation and the mistress were watching and laughing. When I couldn't take it anymore, I decided to walkout of the church. one of his workers ran after me and forcefully drew me back which left a mark on my neck. His claim is that I shouldn't move out while his pastor is talking. I pushed him out of my way, he slapped me inside church while my hubby watch. with the little strength in me I fight back and leave the church premises. I was so hurt that I want to revenge on my husband and his worker. how will I be proud of this pregnant now that he has said in his congregation that all am doing is noting but a show how painful. how do I pay him back.I really wish the worst on them now.God help me that I didn't do something unlawful to them. This story is although not entirely strange but difficult to believe. However, if you are sure what you just explain is factual, kindly give us the pastor's name, his church name and address. Possibly the church's contact details and we will fight him legally probono. |
