Family / Re: I Don't Care Neighbours by hizzylife(f): 11:45pm On Apr 09
Minding one's business is nice but we're beginning to take it too far to an unhealthy level. I and my husband recently moved into this house of 6flats after we got married. Nobody welcomed us as new neighbours. I noticed the neighbours were cold and some will pass without even greeting. I continued greeting them warmly when I meet them.

Between now and then 2 neighbours have done baby dedication and another's daughter got married. The invitations were sent through the compounds WhatsApp group. We innocently attended all not knowing the invites were just for formality sake. We wondered why other neighbours didn't come.

I gave birth last year and till today none of my neighbours that we all live in the same house together has said "oh madam you don born?" "Congratulations " "thank God for safe delivery ". Even the women amongst them who are mothers too. Even the one's we attended their events.
I'm not even expecting them to come to my apartment bearing gifts for baby but at least an acknowledgement for such an event. They'll see me spreading baby clothes or carrying baby out and not even a simple gesture to acknowledge that your neighbour put to birth. Is this wokeness or what?

I was just thinking about this issue today and wondering how things have changed. My father had a house of 4flats and I remember how everyone were to each other. Brother's keep. The children played together and attended school together etc. Here Nobody relates with each other.

It's strange and disheartening truly.

Oh

So where is your brother now

My brother is well. I reached out to a pharmacist friend of mine who recommended one medication like that (forgotten the name) and Ruzu bitters i guess to flush his system. He took those and got well.

He learnt his lesson and vowed never to smoke again.

Please all,

What can I do in this situation?

I'm about to open an EE profile, however I'm married with a child but only traditionally. How do I answer the Marital Status question? If I answer yes there's no certificate to back it up but if I say no won't that be misrepresentation as we're actually married, living together with a child.

We plan to do our civil wedding early next year as I'm currently nursing.

Who has been in this situation before?

69 pounds for six courses and 89 pounds for 2 courses plus two courses and you pay 100 pounds for registration plus yearly registration of 65 pounds.

Thanks for your response. But please to clarify, is it 69 pounds for each of the courses or 69 pounds for all the 6 courses?
Or can you give me a total estimate of what it'll take?

Also is two months enough to prepare and pass it?

Thanks again.

Good day my people,
I have already verified my degree and I just completed a diploma level 4 in cips, please would I need to verify the cips with WES to claim two or more degrees to boost my score? Or just change my status on my profile automatically?

Please how much total did you pay to get this certification? And are you sure it's accepted by WES? Thanks

Will Canada start FSW draws ever again? This silence is deafening. The wait is not funny again o. I'm so fixated on this process and country. Hope is gradually slipping away. #sigh

I use a savings account. I already have a master's card for same account.

I'm trying to pay for WES using virtual card. However on trying to pay on WES site I'm being told the domain of my email address is invalid. I don't understand what that means. I'm using a Gmail. Who has experienced this before?

Please help.

Please who can help me with a contact for FUTO transcript processing? I applied for my transcript to be sent to WES since second week of May and until now nothing has happened. I thought it would be faster because I've requested for it (sent to a local institution here) before but it doesn't seem so.

I'm getting really anxious as draws may start any moment from now and I don't want to miss any opportunity. I need to act fast because I'm on the borderline due to age (I will start losing points soon).

Please help a soul. Thank you.

Phones / Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by hizzylife(f): 11:51am On Oct 31, 2020
Please I'm looking at getting a Redmi based on the reviews I've been getting here. However I also discovered that most reputable phone outlets like 3CHub don't stock them. I asked to know why and was told it's because they don't have warranty and service centers in Nigeria. Is this true or a real issue?
I really want to upgrade from Tecno.

Health / Re: COVID-19: Anambra Begins Fumigation Of The 63 Major Markets In The State (Photo) by hizzylife(f): 9:30am On Apr 08, 2020
I don't see any sense in these fumigations. Why are they spending money fumigating states that have not recorded even a single case of the virus? Even in Lagos State with the highest cases the spread is not yet community wide to warrant fumigation of the whole city. These people should get their priorities right. It pains me to hear all the billions they claim to be spending on things that are temporary. If our health care system is even average I think we would have been able to manage this without spending all these funds. Why are they spending billions erecting makeshift isolation centres when we have a lot of federal and state health facilities that they can quickly renovate to serve the purpose. The whites they're copying are only doing so because their hospitals are already overwhelmed. After the pandemic, these makeshift centres will be dismantled, billions wasted and we'll go back to square one with no lessons learnt. To think we only have just below 300 cases nationwide. I was hoping by now with this lockdown they would have observed a pattern to this thing in the country and know how and where to tackle it so people will go back to their normal lives. We are being kept in the dark. The only thing we hear about is the billions they are spending.

I seriously doubt it's plain weed. Your bro likely took Arizona or Colorado. Find out his drug history and take him to a doctor asap.

The annoying thing is that he doesn't even know the guys that gave him the stuff to smoke. He saw them and tasted it out of curiosity. He doesn't know their names or have their contact. They only told him it's SK. It happened in Imo State and he's back to Lagos since. There's no way to reach those guys to truly know what was inside that thing. They're boys he met in the village when they went to swim in another community. These boys are not even from our own community. Hmmmm
Health / Help, My Brother Has Been Sick After He Smoked Igbo by hizzylife(f): 10:34am On Mar 31, 2020
Please help, my younger brother of 18years smoked Igbo since January and has not gotten himself since then.
He traveled home for Christmas and joined some boys to taste it. He said he took like 5 draws but it only happened once. He said he felt like running mad but was asked to take garri after which he slept off. However after 3days of the incidence till now he's been having all manner of symptoms like palpitations, sweating, chest pain, panic attack, acute weakness, lack of sleep, itching in the head etc. Before we knew the cause, we were worried, took him to several hospitals and even for prayers before someone that knew what happened hinted it to me. He has taken all manner of drugs since January but these symptoms come and go. I just recently learnt of what really happened and have not told any doctor yet.
I've read of the side effects of igbo and they tally. I'm really worried. Has anyone gone through this here before? Will these symptoms go away? Will he ever get himself back? What should we do? I'm tired.

Nairaland / General / Are Fuel Stations Really Selling At The New Price? by hizzylife(f): 7:40am On Mar 21, 2020
Recently the federal government announced that they're reducing the price of petrol by N20 from N145 to N125 effective from 19th March, 2020. Please who has bought petrol of recent and are all fuel stations following this directive? Is this a permanent price or will fuel price go back to its normal price of N145 after the crisis?
