Even Cricket and Rugby analysts know that Arsenal is going through a bad patch and For God sake, it's expected that when a team is struggling, the media etc will come out and 'crucify' the Gaffer, the team, the supporters, the board etc.
AW can be stubborn, but really,I don't think he's stupid.
I remember when in'04/05,(I hope I am right) when Manure didn't win anything and finished last in their CL group, there were talks all over that the old man is senile, he has lost the plot, he sold this and that(At a game in Fulham, the Fulham fans were actually singing 'You(Manure) are not great anymore ).
But what happenned? he still sold Ruud, didn't get any replacement and went on to win the league.It was a gamble, but it paid off.
Back to AW, for every player he sells,he does that based on the fact that he thinks, he's got a 'good' replacement.
Cole went, Clichy stepped in.He moved Eboue upfront when he found Sagna,Rosicky and Hleb(Nasri for Hleb now) for Ljungbarg and Pires.
and many more.
He may have bitten more than he could chew last summer by not signing a Defensive midfielder to replace Flamster and Berti,
but really, its the defence that needs sorting out, we have let in 23 goals this season.It's wretched for a side competing for the title.
Toure, Billy, silvestre. , None has really inspired at the back.They have been disappointing!!!
