I am sure Kaita playing on the right is an experiment by Lars.
He's shifted formation now and Osaze has moved to the right with Uche pairing Yak upfront.
I am not against experiments, but it's the national team, let's play players where they will function best

He's still young and should be in form at the next one in 4 year's time.

Arsenal turn down Barca offer for Fabregas

Arsenal Football Club have today released the following statement about Cesc Fabregas:
"Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is under contract with the Club until the summer of 2015. He is a highly-valued member of the team and part of our future plans.

"We have followed recent speculation linking Cesc with a move away from the Club but as there has never been any official approach for him, only two informal exchanges, in which we made it abundantly clear that we have no interest in transferring Cesc, we have refrained from publicly passing comment.

However, yesterday evening we received an offer from Barcelona for Cesc and in response, we immediately and resolutely told them once again that we have no intention of selling our captain.
"To be clear, we will not make any kind of counterproposal or enter into any discussion. Barcelona have publicly stated that they will respect our position and we expect that they will keep their word."

I thought so right from the start, that Cesc won't be leaving the Arsenal

Katsumoto:
1. Amokachi worked tirelessly for the Eagles and Yekini until Nigeria got to the WC. After Yekini got the Nike $1 million dollar endorsement for the WC in 1994 (Nike picked one player from each team) Amokachi and Amuneke stopped playing for Yekini and started playing for themselves. Yekini did not get service at USA 94; instead Amuneke and Amokachi preferred to play selfishly.
5. Not against the point you are making but Okocha was still Ekpo's sub until after the WC. He didn't start until the semi-finals in Tunisia (only got 25 minutes against Egypt in the group stages). He was also used sparingly in the WC.
1.)I don't wanna argue the 1st point with you because time and time again, the memebers of this squad have denied that claim of isolating Yekini.
2.)He was nursing an injury at the WC and also remember, he played very few matches at the Nations Cup and yet he was chosen in the best 11 in the competition
Sports › Re: Who Is Your Best Super Eagles Player Of All Time? by HNIC(m): 12:59pm On Jun 01, 2010
Akolawole:
1) Do you know that Amokachi hardly passed the final ball to Yeking? This is strange but its a fact!

2) Please dont start the commitment stuff? Never confused the word 'commitment' to his style of playing "power-play". Running around the field like a headless chicken does NOT make someone commited.

Please checkout Garba Lawal(yes the same Garba) and John Utaka.

3) We got to go memory lane then. Stephen joined eagle in 1983, who can he boss in the team? Was it Segun or Alhaji Muda? Tell me who?. He came as a fine boy. After our loss to Paul Biya's team in 1984, the team was somehow disbanded so players like Odegbami and his friends left so virtually no one was left. This was 1984. In 1985, he went to Abidjan so what are you talking about here?

4) Agreed he performed well so is Oliseh, Yekini(beside Italy match) and others

5) We have so many commited players in those days. If not because of Siasia's mistake against elephants, there couldnt have been a Dan Amokachi.
1.)Haba,Akola, that is so mean!Go and watch the matches again, Amo set up Yekini so many times. They were friends.Remember rumours have it that Siasia lost his place in the Eagles, because he had some 'issues' with Yekini and didnt pass to him for an all important goal at Abidjan in the WC qualifier against Cote d'Ivore.Woulda been stupid for Amo to toe the same line
2.)Haba, It's blasphemous mentioning Amo14,Garba Lawal and Utaka in the same sentence grin.Garba Lawal was a hardworker no doubt and always made the team because of his discipline and more importantly, the dearth of left sided players in the national team.We played with wide men until maybe 2 years ago,If we switch to a 4-4-2, Lawal may return grin.Seriously, Amo did not run like a headless chicken. He had skills(watch the Greece goal and the goal against the Argies at the Olympics)Vision(his 'no look' pass to Ikpeba for our 2nd goal against Brazil). We are still trying to replace him in the S-Eagles set up
3.)Akola,Keshi was at the ill-fated trip to Libya in 1982, when along with Chukwu,Odegbami,Owolabi and co, we were bundled out in the 1st round.Onigbinde rebuilt in 1984 and had just a few members of that team,The Eagles were wobbly until 1988 when Manfred Hoener arrived, we got silver in 1988 nations cup and it was around that time that Keshi became a big 'Boss' in Belgium where he was one of the biggest african exports in europe. As captain of the national team, he became the chief caponne and the era of mafioso entered the eagles.
4.)Thanks, at least we agreed on one item
5.)Yep, that's the story of football, you have one moment, one chance, use it well and a star is born, mess up and you are labelled a flop.Remember, Oliseh played just one match for the eagles against Ethopia. . . and he became 1st choice. The debate used to be 'who is better',friday ekpo or austin Okocha,One magical display in the summer of 1993 against Algeria in Surulere put that debate to rest.Amokachi seized the moment and the rest is history

Check this out.
It was culled from the net
grin

Cesc: Boss, I am sorry, but I want to leave for Barcelona. Its my dream,

Wenger: Sorry Cesc but you are contracted to Arsenal for another 4 years.

Cesc: But Arsene, its my dream, and I really do want to leave. There's no point in you keeping me if I want to go.

Wenger: Actually Cesc, there is a point. You signed a contract. An extension to get more money. We gave you more money on the basis we would have you long term. We are building a team around you. Therefore you are staying. You can go in 2015.

Cesc: But, Arsene,

Wenger: No buts, Cesc. You will play here and do your very best.

Cesc: But you could get £50m now - in 2015 you get nothing,

Wenger : £50m over 4 years, Would I pay £12.5m a year to keep one of my best players and have a shot at the CL, probably making more than £50m in the process?, yes!

Cesc: But I wont be motivated,

Wenger : You will Cesc. If you don't play well you will be dropped. And you wont get back in the side till your form picks up.

Cesc: i'll just not play at all then!! I'll walk out!!!

Wenger: Cesc, then you wont play football for 4 years. Where will that get you. grow up - you negotiated a pay rise and new contract. Stick to it. If you dont you will destroy your career. Would Barca want an out of form player - or worse one that hadn't played in 4 years? Dont play hardball with Arsenal Cesc, you will lose. We are financially strong and dont need to sell - or make a profit on you. Play your best game. Win us some trophies. Go to Barca at 27 at the peak of your career. be a hero to Arsenal by lifting the CL here. Then go. Its your only choice, now please i have things to do - have a good World Cup.

Wenger looks back down at paperwork and ignores Cesc, secretary enters and ushers Cesc out of the room,

Akolawole:
1) Maybe he hold the record as the only strike patner that his pass to his main striker NEVER result to a goal.
@ Akola
He has done his job,the blame of not scoring should go to the striker not the guy that delivered the final ball
Akolawole:
2) Where do you want to place Sam Okwaraji, Alhaji Rashidi Yekini, Mutiu Adepoju, Christian chukwu. Where?
You can fault Amo14 for many things but not the desire and commitment.Okwaraji,Mutiu,Yekini and the rest don't come near him.I told you what Westerhof said about him.(he always gave 150%).Ask all who ever coached him in the Super Eagles, the commitment to the cause was never shaken, unlike what we have now
Akolawole:
3) No Sir! Until their regime, we always have a compact team as most of our national team players came from Sutin stars, Rangers and Bendel insurance.
Naah Akola, the Mafia started with Keshi and co.Remeber, the silly NFA , back then,  banned him and a few players from plying their trade in Nigeria and they went to Ivory Coast where they turned to overnight celebrities. When the ban was lifted, they didnt return, off to Belgium they proceeded and since then, we have always had a problem with the national team.
Akolawole:
4) No Cerezo was not even using ear-ring in Maroc. The Bull is the head of the foursome. I hope remember that his best days in Eagles is still when he was invited to Algiers 90 team fresh from secondary school and ranchers bees.
I beg to diagree.
Amokachi was one of our best players at the World Cup in 1994 and his goal against Greece is amongst the greatest world cup goals ever, shown over and over again. He was also the top scorer for the Super Eagles en route France 1998 playing as a support striker! Not saying he was the best Nigerian player ever, he was just my favorite because I love commmited players.
Akolawole:
Was it NOT your Dan that refused to train in 1995 yet was chatting in the stadium with Jim Nwobodo about their similarities in them having twins. He is too full of himself.
Ha ha ha.
Really, I rate players based on the job done on the pitch. Most of these players were not raised in Ikoyi or V.I and didn't attend private schools.Their passport to success was football.Really, I laugh when the Press tries to make them role models.I only rate them based on what happens on the footie field

http://www.teamtalk.com/news/2483/6168868/Nigerian-tycoon-keen-on-Gunners-stake-

A billionaire Nigerian tycoon is planning to enter the race to snap up a 16% stake in Arsenal, according to a report on Sunday.

Aliko Dangote - one of Africa's richest men - is said to have registered his interest in the shareholding being sold by the club's fourth largest investor Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith, according to The Sunday Times.

The move could spark a takeover battle for the Gunners, with other contenders including its two biggest current investors - who would be forced to launch a full takeover bid for the club if they secured the stake.

Mr Dangote is reportedly a passionate football fan and has the wealth to go head-to-head with the two big Arsenal investors, American sports entrepreneur Stan Kroenke and Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov.

The Nigerian industrialist has stood for the role of president of the Nigerian football association and is believed to have donated cash to the Nigerian national football team.

Mr Dangote founded manufacturing empire Dangote Group and was formerly head of the Nigerian stock exchange.

Finance house Blackstone is now thought to have placed him on the shortlist to buy the Arsenal stake.

Lady Bracewell-Smith is said to be seeking £160million for her stake after putting it on the sale block earlier this year.

Second striker on paperhuh? shocked

He is the only second striker in history that never for once laid the last pass for his striking patner. Not 1 single pass for Yekini to score. If ther's one please remind me.
@Akola
He set up Yekini on countless occassions, but unfortunately, it didn't result into goals.
Amokachi had zeal and passion for the national team and gave his all.
I was there at the national stadium when we played Guinea en route France '98.
The Guineans played very well that day and Titi camara terrorised our defence. It was Amo14 who bailed us out that day.
He was the most determined and commited player in the team.
If we had 11 Amo14 lining up for Nigeria in every single game, we won't be where we are today.

Akolawole:
I also remember him being the chairman of the ear-ring boys in super eagles and spokesperson of Mafia.
