I think there are some folks here who are disappointed that Messi didnt get a hatrick and Tevez didn't get a brace. Get off it guys. You goofed. This team can only improve. Lol. . . .The Argies started playing for time towards the end satisfied with a lone goal and Check out their celebrations. Abeg,The Eagles played footie |
Some pips are just overtly critical You played against Messi,Higuain,Tevez and co I saw Shittu bomb forward in a game that had all dem superstars! Was someone insulting Yak here? Did u know? I didn't know Di Maria was on the pitch until he was subbed Come on,we lost to Argentina not Papua New Guinea |
Enyeama for President!!! Really,If we hadn't conceeded earlier on, it may have ended 0-0. Let's forget about the Argies and move on Proud of what I saw! |
Oh my,That's the most uncoordinated French teaam I have seen in recent times. Ribery played to the gallery Gourcuff was mediocre Govou was whack Anelka was isolated. Only Evra played very well, along with Abidal and Toulalan. The French are slow starters though but would they go far this time without Zizou? |
chidichris:You write plenty gibberish That's because you are misinformed At the time Campbell joined Arsenal from Spurs, he earned upwards of 90k/week At that time, I am definite, there was no Chelsea player on that kind of salary. I don't blame peeps like you though, for you the EPL and football generally started in 2005, There are a few things pre-2005 that you know about |
Arsene Wenger in Soweto
|
Dude wants to break Roger Milla's record ![]() The man na 'Alagba Song' ![]() |
Quoting a tabloid: It says Peter Hill-Wood said: we are after Fulham's Goalie,Mark Schwarzer and that Fulham has refused to sell and also that Gallas is set to leave after refusing to sign a one year extension. The tabloid quoted him as saying 'Players are going to have to learn some time that money doesn't grow on trees." OMG, Since when did PHW become the Press Secretary ![]() He should shut up! |
jalether:Yet,You guys were sitting down and negotiating a new contract with an injury prone and washed up player. ![]() Who looks senile now,the Chavs board or Wenger? |
I don laugh tire. This na serious battle! ![]() |
Dr Kitaun:@Dr Kit It's TV5's debut season and he was included in Barclay's team of the season. By all standards, that IS a terrific achievement. I am not sure if there has ever been a defender from outside England, nominated in his debut season! Roll back 365 days and everyone thought AW had gone mad for forking out 10m on a defender, that a huge percentage of Gooners had Never heard off. Many thought he was gonna be a back up to Toure/Gallas and some even thought he may be deployed to Defensive midfield position. Even when Toure was sold, a lot of us still thought, a' big name defender' was gonna be bought to partner Gallas. But Alas,TV5 fitted in like a glove. There's hardly any footie website that didn't label him as the 'BUY' of the past season. Not saying he's the best thing since ATM cards, but at 24, he can only get better and DID have a successful first season |
In other news Phillipe Senderos has crossed over to West London to join Fulham. Byebye Senderos |
Emperoh:Which flavour will Mikel have added? ![]() |
Come on guys Apart from all the Michaels at Chelski, the Druglord at Manchester and Nanny who got injured trying to do overhead kicks for the Paparazzis there are still loads of players that will make 2010 tick Messi CR9 Kaka Robinho Rooney Etoo Yakubu ![]() |
Eastbay:Why Fabregas? |
Hmmmn . . . . Heard that, Barcelona has 'slapped a 35milllion euro price tag' on a player that doesn't start, who is out of favour and will surely be on his way out this summer in one way or another, Isn't that the same amount they first offered to pay for a player who IS playing every week, one of the brightest talents in the game at the back of a terrific season, who they are so desperate to sign, and still has FIVE years to run on his contract?, Ridiculous! |
@eldee and Slimshay, I agree with you guys. Cesc was the best choice after Gallas was stripped and no doubt He's been a Good Captain both on and off the field and he's a crowd favourite But. . . . . . . . Don't u guys find it disturbing that he's always linked to his boyhood club time and time again? The problem about that, is that he will one day RETURN to the club. What is the effect of that on other players? It's not the first time Arsenal captains are linked to other clubs. Vieira was always linked, so also was Henry. But A.W was able to fight off these clubs until he was ready to finally 'sell' the player. Why? They weren't boyhood clubs. This Cesc episode is annoying and I doubt if AW and the board can keep him. Also, after this protracted episode, assuming he doesn't go to Barca, how will it affect him and the team next season? I have to admit, he has handled it well so far!but really, it hasn't been pretty to swallow as a fan. |
eldee:@Eldee Paddy had his flaws but he WAS a leader. He stood up for his team mates(which is what any footie player wants) and he commanded lots of respect. I remember RVP granting an interview and he looked back at his early days in Arsenal. He said, he missed a chance once and when he saw Paddy coming towards him, he feared the worst, but that he only told him to take things easy. Paddy looked like a gladiator when he stepped on the pitch back then. Not saying Fab 4 isn't a good captain though, but I yearn for the days when we had fighters on the pitch. Paddy,Petit,Edu,Pires,Keown etc |
eldee:I thought so also. Really, in all this, I haven't heard Fab4 publicly declare that he's leaving Arsenal Every report says stuff like'It is believed','Quoting a reliable source','it's assummed,' etc Let's see how this pans out.
clearly Wenger does not know the value of the arm-band that is why he has given it to idiots like Senderos,Silvestre and Fabianski in the past
I am with you on that. His choice of captains in recent times have been shocking. Paddy was the last great captain we had and incidentally, the last to lift a trophy! |
jalether:How's JC a 'chelsea reject'? He can only be a reject if u flogged him off to another club or is considered surplur to requirement and transfer listed him. There was an offer on the table for him which he rejected and Word has it that you guys are still pleading with him to reconsider his stance The rumours of JC being at the Emirates is looking more and more likely Not excited though . . . . . His wages are too much for an injury prone player. If he joins, well. . . . we hope we get the best from him |
