Silvestre Update

Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre has held talks with Abu Dhabi-based club Al Jazira over a lucrative free transfer move believed to be worth around £4m a year.!
The deal comes with Arsenal pressing ahead in their pursuit of Lorient defender Laurent Koscielny and maintaining interest in Everton's Phil Jagielka.
Silvestre, 32, has an offer from CSKA Moscow also but has been impressed by plans to upgrade the UAE League, which has already seen Fabio Cannavaro join Al-Ahli, and is keen to hold more talks.

Come on, Mr Geriatric.
Grab this once-in-a-life-time opportunity.

In other news.
Just read that the Geriatric one(Agent Stillvest) is looking at furthering his career in the middle east.
Please, roll out the 'Gangan' drums and mix it with Lagbaja's trumpet.
Let the Party begin.
Meanwhile, I am offering to pay for the Cabbie that will take his things to Heathrow.
Byebye!

Meanwhile, I am on my knees praying the deal goes through

Sauron, did you see Maicon crying after the goal?
That is what I'm talking about . . . . . . passion!!!
That's someone that's won arguably every trophy in football minus the WC.
There was passion in Nigeria also in times past.
I remember Oliseh weeping like a baby that night in Surulere in 2000, when Cameroun beat Nigeria on penalties.
Not any more though.
Now some player doesnt want to play at the World cup'because it may endanger his career' while his club team mate played a match in the same world cup with a half healed broken arm. . . . .

The CIV team with Traore were okay compared to a Senegal side that had Tony Sylva, Fadiga, Papa Bouba Diop, Henri Camara, Diouf, etc. Why didnt that CIV team qualify for the world cup? Egypt's fielded an experimental side in the 90 nations cup. They were trying to build a team for the world cup.
Winning the nations cup and qualifying for the World Cup are two different things.
Ask yourself why Egypt, who have made winning the Nations Cup their birthright, failed to qualify for S.A 2010?
Sports › Re: Why Are Some Nigerians Self-haters? by HNIC(m): 12:31pm On Jun 15, 2010
@medjai
I just said, . .
No excuses grin
You are here talking about Amodu winning bronze, when the Modakeke high chief, Onigbinde also won silver on his first attempt
Talk about Nations Cup exploits,Amodu isn't even the Very best
Onigbinde>>>>Amodu

@honeric and medjai
Don't u guys think it's a bit too early to judge Lars based on one match against Potential champions in which we narrowly lost by a lone goal?
Really, this debate would only make much sense after Nigeria is eliminated and meanwhile I have still not gottan an answer for my question?
How come the home grown managers have achieved nothing with the Super Eagles, not even the Nations Cup?
Please, don't give me the excuse of not getting enough support or meagre salary. They could have rejected the offer or resigned midway if promises made were not kept

@Honeric 01,
I was about answering some of the shocking statements you made, but i see justice has been done to it.
Ask yourself, we've had a legion of Naija coaches, . . . .
Our finest moments in footie has always been with foreign coaches.

honeric01:
Enyeama's exploit was not the handiwork of the coach, he was just on fire yesterday and we should be happy that not all of them forgot about their job.
I never indicated that it was the handiwork of the coach, but you and your Amodu/Local coaches apologist kept talking about his fine form like he wasn't part of the team.
If my memory serves me well, he's been our number 1 goalie since 2002 and has saved us on countless occassions.
He's also a VITAL memeber of the team
honeric01:
Enyeama was in goal against Egypt, yes, but was not in form like he was yesterday. YESTERDAY'S PERFORMANCE FROM ENYEAMA WAS AN INDIVIDUAL'S PERFORMANCE AND THE COACH HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. let me remind you again why Amodu was removed, they said he had no tactical experience and that he didn't put in any tactics on the team, then Largerbeer was employed, can you say you saw any tactical exceptions from the bench yesterday?
Get some perspective, my guy.
Firstly,a Goalie, most times, is as good as the back four in front of him
That's why Cech is fantastic at the Chelsea, and average when with the national team.
The formation against Egypt was whack,
Players were unfit and there was no commitment to the cause.
This was different from what we saw yesterday.
You can't go all out attack against the Argies, they will KILL you.
Those players are some of the best they have ever had.
They had the luxury of dropping Cambiasso and Zanetti(both CL finalist) and Milito who had a brace in the CL finAL
was on the bench shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked
Let's be factual, we all expected a drubbing yesterday.
Forget statistics,bla,bla,bla.
Just imagine, if the chance that fell to Uche had fallen to Martins or Yak and the match ended 1-1
How useful will your stats of one shot at goal been.?
I have seen Arsenal had 24 shots on goal and 30 attempts and the match ended 0-0.
The scores are the most important.
Nevetheless, its foolish to judge Lars using one match
I will appraise him after the group matches.
But from what was displyed y'day, the tactical discipline was there and we saw the same players who under Amodu strolled around the pitch, ready to spill blood for fatherland.
That's what we require

My Opinion :
I think some of y'all who are holding brief for Amodu and Siasia are so disappointed that we lost by 'just' 1-0 to the Argies.
What annoys me most, is saying if not for Enyeama it would have been 5/6-0
WTF
Is Enyeama not a member of the Super eagles?
Was Enyeama not in goal also when Egypt beat us 3-1 a few months ago.?
Didn't Paraguay almost defeat France at the 1998 world cup because they had an excellent Goalie.?
Goalie apart, the eagles were tactically disciplined against the Argies.
