As your name implies, I laugh. I do not know where you got your statistics from but i've concluded your post is a matter of opinion and quick observation.

What makes a person decide in 1983 after 10 years of living in Nigeria that Nigerians are indeed happy people, smiling while suffering.

It is because, he has seen two different societies, weighed their potential and concluded that one could be better off if only such knew what to do.

On the one hand, it's perhaps the anguish that makes the diaspora talk very bitterly about Nigeria. They are in a new environment- an environment that creates an opportunity for individuals to maximize their potential but obviously sees non- indigens as second class citizens. A society that has with little resources and much effort made a respectable name for itself in the game of living.  Why cant Nigeria be like this, why do I have to work my ass out here and still sponsor the queen and her family to throw royal parties ere n dere, Why cant things just work out right in my belovd country, Why, WHy n Why,

Their displeasure is the question of why and why not and we all get that depending on how thoughful we are.

On the other hand, Nigerians in Nigeria are perhaps very hopeful cos they are locked in the system. E go beta has becum our watchword, we are so hopeful and expectant like we have an option. Do you ghet? It's only natural,  parliamentary system to military rule then rigged democratic election followed by a successful transmission from one democracy to another without military intervention ( however badly rigged it was). Then, the ultimate amazement, judges are displayin their competence overuling elections abbl, tht's perhaps a step in the right direction for most people.

I'm bothered that the constitution is now being referred to because it's money matters(even the judiciary, so it's all abt money).

Yes, the Constitution is Supreme but how often is this the case in practice.
PoliticsRe: Is This Really Our Commander In Chief by hoeyeadoe: 2:09pm On Apr 21, 2009
If Yar dies any time sooner, Nigerians killed him with just their word of mouth. But y? Is it a crime to be slender looking or to have a peculiar illness. Pealeazeee, let's leave this guy to finish his term lest we be faced with a bigger dissappointment.

And Yes, this is in fact out current Commander in Chief and I blame his wife for his widely proclaimed misfortune. Behind every successful man, you knw the kinda woman to find and the same goes for the opposite. She is looking all fresh and robust and the so called no 1 citizen looks as though he is Lazarus, three days after Jesus revivified him.
PoliticsRe: Gay Marriage: The Slippery Road To Gomorah by hoeyeadoe: 1:52pm On Apr 21, 2009
David, I totally agree with you. Nigeria is bad enuf already and to legalize gay marriages would be the final straw that would break our camels back. There are better proposals to pass, better morals and values to be taught and dispersed within this country. My mum infers that part of what is sustaining Nigeria n NIgerians until this day is prayers. Perhaps only a few people pray for the country, but it has proved sustainable. Gay marriages would create a new culture that overlook all others and persuade us to completely lose our already depreciating value.

By the way, we know a few homosexuals around and it's good enuf they are ashamed of themselves, to legalize such sodomic act is undoubtedly a sure path to destruction. One wonders why the bible places emphasis on this fact during the days of Lot, one also wonders why the bible says a person shouldnt wear what belongs to the other sex, (which entirely depends on what is understood to be men's wear).

I am f and attracted to both m n f but understand my likeness for f only ends at admiration.

Has Michelle ever bin to Nigeria? Has she sent some expertise advice on how to legally bring the government to justice so that other thiefs dont tread in their predecessors past? PoliticsRe: Hizbollah In Nigeria by hoeyeadoe: 10:25pm On Apr 20, 2009
I agree wiv black n ash, n in fact all others, but y?

But to mow them? these men are mostly northerners in the north and the government of 9ja is more northern Nigerian than the west plus south. Their population is over 50% and the psychological mobilization is unmatched in the age of globalisation.

I'm speechless. Remember the Kano riot- it's similar just that these ones are better mobilized, Where the federeal govt should have displayed their leadership skills, this is an incremental stuff and should be tackled b4 the whole of 9ja is contained to being a jihadist country or a shelter for Bin laden dem. Shallow minds, What kinda religion would declare the extermination of pp of other religion indiscriminately or even for any reason, we've totally lost it. Nja needs her thinking cap in a time like this, haaaaaaaa, I weep.

I dont recoginize the man in the pic, who is he?

I hope this is not drifting off the point.

I really want/wish to marry four men of my choice ( I know them already) living under the same roof with me at the same time. Visiting their bedrooms at my leisure---giving them reasons to be jealous and always tryin to please me,

Having a child at least for each of them and max number of children as 2 for the special one only. Should I mention their names? too many fantacies to discuss, I wish these guys could all agree but they are all too bloody arrogant.

RomanceRe: Would You Date A Woman/man Who Has A Child/children? by hoeyeadoe: 9:36pm On Apr 20, 2009
I used to rubbish the idea- i used to think it's totally illogical for a young lady like me to date(to marry) a once married man or a man with a child, but that has changed (and that's not because i'm not getting any younger).

on the one hand, It's beautiful to build your own family just the way you've always wanted it with no intruder. Accepting to care for sm1 else's child as yours. especially when the mum is still alive is quite challenging. The child n the mother are the bone of contention practically, psychologicall or hypothetically.Perso, nally, I dont like the idea-av never experienced it but i think there will always be incoherence smwhere along the line.

on the other hand, after seeing a 9ja movie I thought it wouldn't be such a bad idea to marry sm1 who has once being married or had a child. this lady decides not to marry Ogogo cos he has a child from his broken marriage not knowing by destiny (as they like to call it) that he was the right man for her. she gets married to a young man lovin up all the way and she bears 3 boys. unknown to her that her husband was working out her best friends (Jenifer)'pekus'. Jenifer gets pregnant and becomes the second wife in the house. long n short, Jenifer kills 2 of the children and their husband dies.

Moral of the story---only if yu knew the end. Always follow your heart and pray to God to direct you. Baba Tayo might be your ribby husband, afterall the only hinderance to your total submission is Tayo.
But me ooo, I knw my husband- i just hope he doesnt screw other girls or else I wil do mine oooo, Hear oooo
PoliticsRe: Do You Cherish Nigeria ? by hoeyeadoe: 8:47pm On Apr 20, 2009
wink Evidently, I love my country to a fault- lost friends, bullied pp, and even fought kick n punch over 9ja n i'd do that again if any bagga messes up wiv my belvd country.

That being said, did I see smthg like yu'd wish to be back in the next life? ehn? I'm not sure about that ooo and I cant think of any country in the world I'd want to be born into if there is any such thing as another life.

May I remind others that yur next life in this country might mean being one of the very unfortunate ones that resort to armed robbery, assasination, extremely deprived communities, abbl if we continue to breed insensitive individuals without visionary leaders and effective institutions.

Truth is I love Nigeria because I'm locked in and blv that God has a purpose for me in this country. I'm passionate about Nigeria and learned to take her as it is while lookin 4 ways to better her.

Not any1 would beat me at being her no 1 citizen not even Yar.

I'm a last minute person and do not go to bed until my assignments are completed, in fact, I dont sleep on such nights.

Lo di fa fun Yardua ni gba to n se awo won lo de Aso rock= Extrapolatable to Yardua's issue when he decided to become the no 1 man in Aso rock.

That's your job man, until the job is done.

If he hasn't bin sleeping, he wont be able to sleep until the job is done, if he has been sleeping howeva, sleeplessness takes effect from tonight until the job is done. Ashe gun.

The same reason one wonders why a supposed server is willing to serve another 4 years in office when he should be happy at his freedom.

GOD, Ehmmmmnnnn.
PoliticsRe: Go Into Cash Crop Farming, Yar ‘adua Urge Youths by hoeyeadoe: 8:01pm On Apr 20, 2009
As a matter of fact, i'd be going into full scale farming as soon as i've got enough capital to sustain my activities in my very unpredictable country. However, when did yaradua come with this new idea of aggressive farming- I thought it was about aggressive education so that our pp know and learn from what's going on around them.

What critical effort is he making/ going to make to ensure that an industry attracts youths that are not interested in farming at all. It's ok if he lavishes the oil money with his greedy followers, but give the pp smthg to build on. Learn from CAP. Moderator, tell Yar to ask whoever is in charge of the project to learn from the success of others, review our own failure and be accountable to Yar at least- if he really has the interest of d pp at hand (those of us that are farmers or wish to be).

Long n short of my narrative is that we need a conducive environment, reckonable policies, deregulation of cos and money lending institutions wiv little or no interest at all, 2 name only a few

PoliticsRe: Who Is Responsible For The Present State Of Nigeria by hoeyeadoe: 5:40pm On Apr 20, 2009
What can say, Jamb question( you think you knw it but the outcome shows yu dont knw jack)

Top- down approach to solving problems is very effective when there are respectable, functional and effective institutions in a country.

Imagine, being the president of Nigeria with a good manifesto and enviable vision. Tell me, where do you start from? (that's on the federal level)

Now, imagine being the state governor of Oyo state, what do you do to make Oyo better than Calabar?

Being the minister for education, health abbl, how do you fulfil a destiny that wouldn't hunt you and your future?

How do you treat your neighbours- what sort of thoughts do you have towards the successful pp around you, do you give a friggin fart abt anything at all asides from  YOU?

In your final breathe, would you sleep in peace knowing you've fulfilled your potential with the available resources?

Think about it, the change starts from you, and you are the leader- yur vision (wisdom, knowledge n understanding) informed by the acknowledged problems of yur society allows you to take a bold step twrds reforming n rebranding if you like, the institutions. And you again, being unselfish, delegate your powers to the right persons that articulate your vision.
it's all in circles but we hardly notice. Nigeria needs good pp to make better leaders and an enviable country. We need discipline, dedication and direction. We need you to be as good as you can.

PoliticsRe: Northern Nigerians Are Not Civilized Peoples by hoeyeadoe: 4:31pm On Apr 20, 2009
What a claim and allegation. As much as I think it's no good genaralize, I must say that i've often wondered about the peculiarities of this part of Nigeria. They infer from news and actions that they are unprogressive in any manner of progress. They pick up quarrels n stab other tribes at the slightest provocation, the Kano riot n the Biafra war are very good examples, the northern pp'z approach to life is simply unprogressive and extremist in nature.

I hate to call any1 uncivilized cos it's arguable 'what civilization is, and exactly what makes it desirable'. I do not care if they rare cattle or sleep on mat-i take that such things are good for them. What I care about is being the obstacle to the progress of others, because majority of the ones we know lack basic common sense that transends the immediate but reaches out to the future---and a better future for all at that.
