Heard there is a new vaccine to be taken at 18weeks called meningitis vaccine... I was informed last week when I took my LO for his 14week immunization.

Kindly find out from your hospital.
For other mamas that have passed the 18week period I think u shld also find out as well.

I was at the hospital today and the nurse said the vaccine is for when baby is 2yrs and that its just once.
But is this a new improvement or it has beeen like that, just that they dont include it at 14weeks?

Holysteph ,that's your answer. Everyone knows nursing mothers do not get enough sleep during the night. In the morning, switch off your phone or turn down the ring volume and sleep. Pretend not to hear any calls or knocks. If they come back later in the day, you can open door for them. If they ask, tell them you slept off as you didn't get enough sleep at night cos of baby. After doing this for some days, most people will get the message. They may have no idea that they are not helping your cause. You can help them understand indirectly or directly.

HolySteph, nne pls calm down ooh. Igbos will say nwa mgbe nta. Some inlaws can be very judgemental. When i had my first baby, MIL will show me cobweb on fan, at d same time showing me a loosened thread on the throw pillow. She wil show me hubby's dirty clothes in the basket meanwhile hubby does his laundry by himself even till date. My baby was a crybaby the 1st 3 months of life and was very colicky. I almost went mental. At a point i ignored and did things my way and at my pace. Now she hails me and call me agu nwanyi. So ignore them and refuse to be stampeded. Adapting to motherhood is a huge stress most especially as a FTM, so overwhelming or is it adapting to lack of sleep on days straight, so dont allow anybody make you feel inadequate.
Dont worry before you know it, this phase will pass.

Yes o I can't wait. The thing just tire me. Person no fit drink water drop cup sometimes. Its well o.

Mama pls expose your baby to an open ventilated places. Trust me...this is caused by heat. My baby experienced same at his 2 weeks bcus inlaws bundled my baby with headwarmer, tight thick cloth with socks, covered him with shawl and put inside a mosquito net room with windows closed.(I almost died but I couldnt talk). So all that made me to leave the place quickly to my own place to single handedly take Care of my child. I got tributan and used it as his only cream without powder for two weeks and exposed him to air.. Within that 2 weeks I loved and appreciate my baby's skin. You need to be patient too to see results.

Good day mamas. Let me rant.

Have had it up to my throat.. Am I the only one going through post partum depression? Why are in-laws so opinionated... Why?! Why?!! Things are not the same..not jealous but everyone that calls or comes around asks only about baby.. They be like "how's your baby?" , "how's baby doing?", " is baby sleeping?", "has the baby taken his bath?"(forgetting its just me doing everything. Mother couldn't stay bcus of her business,
so I learnt what she taught and took from there. Sigh ),. In-laws comes around everyday bcus they live close by.. They comes to see if baby is bathed early and not late forgetting I'll need to sleep that morning bcus baby disturbs every night. So I used early mornings to sleep and get up like 8 to do chores and eat before bathing baby by 10am. But in-laws as always judgmental as they are would come earlier to see if I have and if I havnt they begin to judge their heads. Its not their fault. How can one get over such. Hubby goes to work early in the mornings of which I have to prepare his lunch for him before going back to bed. Can't continue, so much to talk..... I'm just wondering if am the only one? Any ways baby would be 3months soon and he'll be going to church this Sunday.. Thank God! Its been one hell of a three months.. From going through hot water section after delivery, heat, sleeping without fan and light bcus of baby...(I almost died.. If that's the definition of omugwo I'm never doing again). In all I Thank God for myself, my baby and hubby.

Besides all that, what is the effect of taking carbonated drinks as a breastfeeding mother to her baby?

Men has a whole lot to offer likewise women. Things are not the same and can never be the same with that of our parents time where women become just house wives. Things have sharpen up now, people are wiser now to take up responsibility because responsibility breeds respect.

Jesus my baby makes so much sound whenever he is pooping. He is on EBF and poops watery poops but before it comes out its with so much sound like a bomb.

This is priceless. This is what some mothers go through. The pains. The stretch mark. The shapeless body. The flappy tummy. Some of us use corset and body magic to hide it. Some of us use push up bra to feel sexy but when we get into the bathroom, naked and see the real body , we remind ourselves that we produced a creature, a human being. Please women learn to love yourself. Love your body. Motherhood is a beautiful thing. I pray that those trying for a child will get pregnant.
Men , learn to love your wives. What we go through isn't easy. We don't need you to misbehave, we don't want you to cheat on us. We don't want you to beat us. We don't want you to deny us our right. All we need is love , transparency, care and support. After all these suffering some men without conscience hit their wives. Some don't care if she has eaten . Some even abandon her to cater for the baby. Some spend more on their girlfriend forgetting they have a nursing wife at home. On judgement day , I wonder the excuse you will give God for maltreating your wife.
Some men even have the guts to tell their wives that she is not a woman just because she delivered through CS . I believe a true woman is the one who had her child(ren) through surgery. She has to go through pains. Serious pains. She has to deny herself food for days at least 3days. She can't eat normal food for a month. She can't even bath herself well. Unlike the vagina birth. Men , no matter the method of delivery treat her like a queen. For a mother and child to come out alive is God's grace. Pregnancy and Labour is between life and death. Learn to respect mothers.

Ftmum me I think it's fine. Just ensure it's hygienically prepared and you keep in an airtight container when you refrigerate to avoid microbes getting into it

In my inexperience, I see mothers burping even when baby is sleeping. They sleep off most of the time na, and one has to burp before lying them down

your dd is just like my ds. He is 6months and hasn't changed. He doesn't want me or anyone with him out of his sight and struggles while crying when you back him. Bathing him is worse, it is either he wants to put foam in his mouth or wants to collect the sponge from you.And the nigga is so strong. Sometimes he will hold himself and refuse to sit, if you lie him down, he is getting up immediately.If he sleeps, 2mins he is up and a lot more. It can be frustrating but I've embraced the package. It's all part of motherhood

Lol... I can relate o madam! DS is all of these... Funny thing he is just 7weeks.. Sometimes I wonder where such strength comes from, if its just breast milk.
