So my dear, let it not stress u. 9mnths no be 9days[b] Should one still burp when he falls asleep while feeding? |

khaite23: I really hope ooooooo...... may God give you the strength. cos wen my nephew's own was done, despite nt witnessing I almost shed tears. Then the doctor advised them to be putting olive oil on it atleast 5 times in a day and it really worked. The plastic fell in time. Oh your own better. My doc said I shouldn't put anything.. I should only give breast milk. Hm.. My grandma put penicillin, wet in concern her. It healed faster and relieved the pain. Tho the hospital prescribed vitamin c for him. |

gabby18: Yeah I know of silverbird...heard its not suitable for babies under 2months so I eventually went to the hospital. The doc still prescribed silver bird ( add a drop of the SB to hot water and allow the baby inhale the steam facing downwards..remove the babys face fron time to time when it gets too hot..she also prescribed vit c drops. Thanks alot You're right o! I had to quickly browse it... Said its not suitable for babies under 2months, while some said under 10yrs. Above its not suitable for children.. Then why do they prescribe it for us? |

Liftedhands: Number 1 normal bathing is okay! No need for additional washing of the nipples ( it not like you rub dirt on it).
Number 2 sounds like colic do the bicycle moves and give him some tummy time it will ease off soon.
Number 3 Are you on exclusive or combined feeding?
Breast milk digest really fast so babies tend to feed more often than formula fed baby's. If you need a break express and give someone to feed baby, I don't think you are over feeding him nor spoiling him. Thank you. That express would be better. |

hunniesuzie: You've gotten good answers on these but just to add, 6 weeks is still young, nothing like spoiling. Breastmilk digests as quickly as 2 hours. Formula can last up to 3 hours. His stomach is still small, feed him biko Lol it doesn't even last up to an hr. I feed every 45mins hence the 20times in a day except when he is asleep. I put him to sleep on his chest so he can sleep longer and won't cry for breast milk. It wasn't like this initially... He just begun asking for more. I can hardly sleep. |

Good morning mamas.. Three questions
1. Please how can a breastfeeding mother take care of the nipples? I just feel I'm not doing enough. While bathing I use a wet towel to clean but I feel its not enough hygiene.
2. My baby makes so much noise whenever he wants to pass gas or pee or poop. Pls is it normal?
3. How often can a mother breastfeed her baby in a day? Bcus my boy of 6weeks feeds at any time. If its not up to 20times in a day sometimes. He doesn't cry for anything other than breast milk. I want to know if I'm over feeding or spoiling him already? He is beginning to know his rights. |

Bomgirl: Good morning, mothers. Please my 4 week old baby sometimes breathes like he has phlegm in his throat , especially when sleepy but his nose is clear. Is there anything I can do to get it out? He's not having trouble breathing, I just don't like the sound. Do you rub his back after feeding? I do experience that too but only when I don't rub his back after feeding. I can recommend silver bird too. It does wonders for congestions. Try both. |

Hello mamas in the house. My 5weeks old baby has been having skin rash on his neck and back. At first my mil said its normal(I agree) but now its getting worse. I stopped using a particular moju powder and started with one chicco powder that helped cleared it a bit but the healing is slow. Now I'm using tributan to see if itll work. I'm beginning to think its Ella

luckygirl02: Mothers pls come to my rescue. My baby is six months and has been having high temperature for about two days now. Some said it's teething and advised me to get gbomoro and ibuprofen for him which I did, but still no changes at all. He looks so lean coupled with brownish eyes. He was immunized the day the temperature started, that was on wednesday. At first I thought it was cos of the injections he took, So i was expecting him to be better by yesterday but the high temperature persists. I have been using the gbomoro and ibuprofen to calm it down but it keeps coming back. Worst is always at night. He is always hot from head to toe. Even his mouth makes my breast tips hot when he sucks. He doesn't play like before and cries frequently. Are all these normal for teething? Biko am a ftm. Don't wait any second again, go back to the hospital. |

Liftedhands: HolySteph due to the nature of my surgical wound when I delivered it was my doctor that told me to nurse while lying down, it was a life saver for us cos I couldn't sit up at the time.
The thing is I had a nurse or relative with me all the time just in case I doze off they will adjust baby's nose for me.
The risk is suffocation nothing else! Don't try it if you are a heavy sleeper or roll about when asleep . OK thank you. I'm not a deep sleeper. Sorry about your surgery. Hope you're better now? hunniesuzie: Me I started doing it from I think 8 weeks sha. And my boobs aren't too big
If your mind carry am, carry go Moderate casler: Size of breast matter, the bigger, more dangerous OK thanks FloraEC: No is not advisable. I started doing that at 8months to avoid choking Chain its not easy getting up to sit up and breastfeed. sassyangel1: Pls, don't don't don't lie down to breastfeed especially at this age. I knw it's tiring buh the later effects (God forbids) is more exhausting n terrible. Chai e no eazi o Nimi22: I started since my baby was 4 weeks and since then no going back when he was less than 3 months I made sure I don't sleep deeply so I can easily remove it from his mouth when he sleeps but now both of us sleep till I remember I was feeding someone before I slept. Pls make sure ur boob is not covering his nose and it is not out of his mouth so milk won't enter his nose, then u can raise his head on ur hands. That's exactly what I do. Tho he let's go of the nippl.e when he is done and wants to continue with his sleep. Sansa143: Not bad but ensure dat ur bo.obs dos not covers lo's nose.Bin doing dat 4 a while too and it has helped alot. Sure! Thank you. |

suremum: Most people keep baby warm when they are newly born because they are straight from the womb which is warm and if exposed now that they are with us, they may feel cold and all and they are too young to regulate there body temperature but please dont keep ur baby too hot to the extent of sweating that is not cool as baby can even start having skin issues. If you notice he is too hot pls reduce the cloths he has on. Babys cloth should be a layer thicker than urs. Thank you ma. |

Please, today i noticed the white in my baby's eye has turned slightly redish. I wonder what it is. Plus there is this yellowish discharge i cleaned from his eyes at night. Only at nyt. That one has stopped.
What could possibly be wrong? And what can i do to restore the white of his eyes to normal. He ll be 5weeks on wednesday ans BTW his vaccination is next week.
Ur inputs are important. Kindly help a FTM. Thanks Put breastmilk into his eyes and watch it brighter than before. MIL taught me that.. I was reluctant until I tried for my baby.. Worked like magic. |

lightedpath: Lukewarm water should be used not hot. You dont have to overdress the baby, the weather is hot. Let the room be well ventilated. If the coconut oil was not made by you, pls switch to olive oil and it shouldn't even be too much on the skin. Thank you so much. |
