I have since arrived at this conclusion, Abacha' s disregard for the so called Western powers paid off. Naira was stable and had value. The price of commodities remained unchanged throughout his tenure. Nazgul: |
Homebaked:In this current Naija, anyone who is privy to a means of earning 5k-10k daily, if he is already self sufficient, will firstly consider his siblings, then village people and probably church members. If it is thrown to the public, it is surely a scam.Know this and have peace. |
I have just been reached by so called scammers . Too bad, I am conditioned to distrust any offer that's too good.

500 BILLION to elect politicians?t?After that what? Same story of infrastructure decay. Haba INEC! Can't we just use USSD on our phones to vote? Everything is over-hyped in this Naija. |
Seriously, there's spirit lurking in the seat of power that strips those who venture there of their commonsense. This man was among Nigeria's finest until Aso Rock happened to him. |
I don't want to comment about the anti open grazing bill and the whole ranching or no ranching brouhaha. The Benin works should and must be returned to the state from wherever in the Western world they are being held. Now, having said this, what about the works from other cultures that were not pilfered and are currently on display in our museums? For example, the Jos museum has quite a collection of Nok heads. The average Nigerian neither cares about these artefacts nor interested in promoting his heritage. These ones are making headlines because they are being held in foreign museums. Return these works and watch them being neglected if not outrightly destroyed. This whole idea of running to Abuja for every single thing is turning governance to a joke in the country |
For a country like Nigeria, why can't we create something similar to big brother that promotes good ethics. Imagine setting up a stringent selection process through which the top notch young engineers are choosen and locked up for 90 days will all the necessary materials. |
OKPANAMboy:When will you people stop picking at each other and form a common front. It is a battle between progressive minds and those who choose to follow middle age ideologies. These tribal slurs should end already. |
Nowadays christians love quoting old testament texts and declaring the promises therein without examining the reality through the Christian principles the claim to uphold. Jesus only promised eternal reward in Heaven. He was never particular about being rich here on Earth by being true to the gospel. Prosperity preachers, seeing scanty justification for their doctrine, are turning to old testament for promises that apply only to the Israelite nation. Infact, pursuit of riches for it's own sake is not encouraged in Christianity. Persistent hardwork and doggedness brings about wealth regardless of the tribe or creed one subscribes to. The richest christians around are pastors but the richest people on Earth are not christians. |
Lilpen3758:Many are weird few are declaring. |
So we remain here and get diminished by bandits and unknown gunmen? Rissimenky: |
I saw a man who not only preached love but practiced it across creed and ethnic divide. I think he was more Christianly in his humility and philanthropy than those mega pastor colleagues who believe that God can only bless you when you give to them. |
Metal fabrication and welding. Specialize in metal doors, burglar proof lattices and gates. There is now a big market owing to insecurity in Nigeria. |
nenyeRitta:Very true. The existing primary and secondary schools then were built by the missionaries. The British government has been and is still exploitative. |
https://www.premiumtimesng.com › ... Recruitment: 190,000 applicants for Immigration, NSCDC jobs sit for ... Solution: Train and arm half the above and bandits will be history. |
TheDestroyer:Enough of this Yoruba/ Igbo e tribal war. Our existence as peaceful indigenous Nigerian tribesmen is being threatened by foreign marauders. What is expedient now is to close ranks. |
There is nothing exciting about exporting bamboo to countries where they will be processed into finished goods that will find their way back here. When are we ever going to start building machine tools and machines to process our raw material? Our youths are jobless yet we keep exporting jobs to other countries. |
Queseda:The North of 1966 is not the same as today's. The middle belt component has found its voice and destiny and is no longer on the same page. Plateau, Benue and Taraba states are classical examples. |
Ol boy, let sleeping dog lie. This is for everyone's health and thank God you didn't marry your ex. |
Shepherd00:The Bible in its entirety is not the Word of God. It comprises of the Word ( Jesus), the word of men and, of course, the word of the devil. The current church system teaches her adherents to regard every sentence in the Bible as God's Word. That is not correct. The Word of God in the Bible in its purest form are the sayings of Jesus Christ. The Bible as we know it today came by a couple of centuries after the birth of the church and even then prior to the invention of the printing press, only few copies exist. I will have you know that it was the sayings of Jesus, transmitted orally, first by the apostles and their successors, that won multitudes to Christ In the first century. |
Scales need to fall from people's eyes before they can see this. We follow our spiritual leaders blindly here and are completely out of touch with history. |
This matter is weighty. In one sweep you-OP have accused Pastor Adeboye of derailing from the vision of the founding father, abi? There are elders from Pa Akindayomi's era still present in the church, are they oblivious of this purported paradigm shift or have they fully assented to the 'falling away'? Well, the truth needs no defence.I will patiently hang on this thread to see the truth triumph. Insults to persons instead of addressing issues is a hallmark of those defending falsehood. My take. |
edwinho:The suffering the witch not to live part is old testament. The order of the new testament is love. If you are a Christian, you will do well to pay attention to what Jesus says. |
Jesus expressly commanded us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. But behold we have today, a crop of Christians, who will listen to everybody except Jesus-the author and finisher of the faith. Why will a man who was an enemy of God but for the saving grace of same God turn around and wish his enemies(people who are still under the grips of satan as he was) dead? Is it that he wants to save his life by having God kill the enemies? Well, that is a selfish and wicked disposition. I make bold to say that those raising such prayer points have no idea who Jesus is. Jesus is a saviour not a destroyer. He prefers that we show love just as he had shown us love by dying for us while we were yet sinners.God has a timetable for dealing with his enemies and the enemies of his children, but we are not privileged to preempt judgement and call for their heads. If the early disciples of Jesus had done this, St Paul would not have been alive to evangelize the world. Those who insist on following old testament injunctions against the new must also remember that the old testament was all about the Jew and had no provision for the inclusion of other nations. For us gentile Christians let the words and disposition of Jesus be our guide, because he is our light and our salvation. Shalom |
I have observed, with dismay, a practice that is now gaining ground in Nigerian churches and seek to know if there is biblical backing for it. It begins with the congregation being asked to pen down prayer request on pieces of paper. At the end of the praying session, these are gathered in a heap and burnt by the pastors. Is this a legitimate Christian practice? |
emmasege:Great! It is clear that quality education comes at great costs and fees cannot be any lower than it is. The question I keep asking is that must churches establish universities? They will continue to attract bad press for the singular reason that majority of their members will never benefit from the institution they helped to build. If all these efforts and money are geared towards building hospitals and clinics instead of schools, we won't be having this conversation. But no, that is bad market for miracle peddling, which is a necessary ingredient for filling the pews in the first place. |
It has not been built! Realistic rendering I must say. |
All first class traditional rulers in Benue, Plateau, Taraba, Kogi, Enugu and other states affected by the herdsmen mayhem should meet and close ranks. A unanimous voice condeming this killings and an amalgamated counter force to stem the tide will do well. Meanwhile politicians can continue to bury their heads in the sand, when all hell is let loose in this country, none will be spared. My token. |
The truth, they say, is very bitter. We, black people need some dose of these truths. Before any society can talk about development, technology and so on, that society needs a thousand brains. This is only possible by the invention of a system of writing, where ideas could be recorded and built upon. From Nok to Zimbabwe, no legible text or inscription on any subject was ever authored before the Europeans and Arabs came. The entire continent was shrouded in superstitious belief , every one, too scared of the unknown to dare. African chiefs were involved in the ignoble slave trade; raiding neighbouring villages and selling off their kinsmen to the white slave merchants. Amazingly, the proceeds of this enterprise is not evident anywhere on the continent in all the four hundred years of slavery. Fast forward to today, Africans don't seem ready to develop their society, always pursuing the irrelevant while leaving important things unattended to. Leaders cling to power with no idea of how to better their people's lot. Development is sustainable only along the line of a people's culture. The Japanese remained Japanese, spoke their Japanese language, practiced their Japanese religion yet developed technologically, being unburdened with identity issue. So it is for the Chinese and Europeans. The African is busy trying to appear like a European or Arab, speaking their language, practicing their religion and at the same time not able to imbibe their technology. I weep for Africans. We have not been charmed, we are just gullibile and cowardly. |
I had a similar condition a couple of years ago, it turned out to be solidified ear wax. A bottle of earwax drop was given me. I applied it for two days. On the appointed day, my doctor brought out a huge syringe without a needle point, filled it with antiseptic diluted with warm water and flushed the now softened earwax out.I left the clinic no better but before I got home a pop sounded in that ear. Suddenly hearing was restored.I could hear every sound distinctly. Back home I assembled those music tracks I love but could not distinguish the lyrics syllable. Everything was now clear in my ear. You are next to testify. |
Truth must be said no matter how bitter. I am black so I know where it pinches. Consider all the races in the world and compare their culture with ours. You will realize that Africans cannot develop themselves. Until the White and Arab boys showed up it never occurred to anyone from Timbuktu to Capetown to invent a system of writing. No legible inscription anywhere. There was no curiosity and no one dared to improve on the old tradition. Take a look at our attitude toward education, we are only there for the paper. No one is interested in producing a thing. Decades since oil discovery we can't copy and replicate technologies in that field. Look at the mess we call governance. The leaders are completely bereft of the way forward and so resort to embezzling public funds. We need to contract governance to the whites. At least so we can have system that works. |
