As much as i believe that election riggers deserve to be lynched owing to the attendant implications of electoral robbery in Nigeria, i do not think someone like Mr Oshiomole should be an open advocate of jungle justice in a Country that is supposedly practising democracy,and a Country with a Constitution. The task of making our votes count, rest collectively in our resolve as individuals, and collectively as peace lovers to protect our votes by whatever means we deem fit. As someone rightly pointed out,election riggers,especially ballot snatching is not a tea party and only people prepared for such wars can even attempt to nip such problem in d bud. I condemn in all totality, the statement credited to the 'Comrade Governor', as it is nothing but a call to anarchy to the Nigerian people. It is no different from the much condemned 'do or die' philosophy of OBJ. |

i commend the poster for a decent analysis of the chances of the BB ticket.However i beg to disagree on some of his assertions. First, is his comparison of the role money played in the US election with dt of Nigeria in the april polls.Elections in developed countries,like the US, are largely issue-based,and Obama was clearly favoured by a majority of american electorates because they were tired of the senseless loss of lives of American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.In other words,the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were important issues during the 2008 presidential polls in the US. Second,the example of 19 million almajiris being bribed 1000 naira each is clearly illogical.the whole north central has an estimated 19 million voters according to the INEC,are they all Almajiris? It is my humble opinion that as much as i belief that GEJ has some advantages in the april poll,mostly due to the overflogged 'incubency power', i still believe that d BB ticket stands a chance to create an upset.moreover,i'll rather vote for the candidate dt i feel has the requisite credentials to steer the ship of this country to the right part than join the bandwagon of a man who clearly has nothing good to offer this potentially great country of ours. Remember that INEC will continue to exist after the 2011 polls, it would embark on training and re-training of staff, pay salaries,etc. Unless you have proof of allegation(s) of corrupt enrichment against Jega, then shut your trap and do your own part to make the 2011 polls succeed. Elections, the world over isn't cheap, it is expensive. No amount of money spent on the 2011 elections is too much, as long as it is free, fair, and credible. This is what the hoi polloi of Nigeria are asking for, we are not worried about the cost. |

As much as we desire State Police in Nigeria, and rightly so owing to the fact that the States cannot control the Commissioners of Police, who is only accountable to the Inspector General of Police, methinks our so-called leaders would misuse this vital instrument of a truly federal structure if given the chance. Governors won't hesitate to use it to haunt their perceived opponents, whether real or imagined. We'll get there one day but right now, we are simply not ripe for State Police. |

I watched the program live on AIT, it is so unfortunate that a Minister for Information and Communication could make such ill-informed statement. Immediately he made that statement(mind you, it was a sentence in a long list of praises for his BOSS), i was like. what the heck does he think he is saying? Even though the Minister, Mr Labran Maku does not strike me as an articulate person, what with his bad command of the English language, i still want to believe it was a costly slip of tongue. I quite agree with most of the comments i've read on this thread, especially those of ajanlekoko and eluala. However, as much as i agree, i want every1 to realize that Nigerian graduates of today do not have the same opportunies that our fathers had in the 70's and 80's. Thus, it is increasingly difficult for us(because i'm 1 too) to get our dream jobs and use our GOD-given intellect and potentialities. Simply put, the environment in Nigeria is stifling not encouraging @ all. |

Even though i aint no economist, i think you guys are missing a fundamental an important point why Countries can't just mint money when they need it, which is that- money is used in minting money It is said for instance that the cost of producing the polymer notes in Nigeria is actually more than the value of the notes themselves. |

This is a classic case of misplaced priority on the part of the Government. Quality and not quantity should be the watchword. Federal Universities in Nigeria are lacking basic infrastructure and facilities, Lecturers are demanding for a better pay package and a conducive environment for leaning and research, and yat all the Government can think about is build 6 new Universities! What is the government doing to solve the problem of mass unemployment plaguing this Country? NOTHING! Thousands of graduates are produced yearly in Nigeria, and yet there are no jobs. This is nothing but tokenism on the part of GEJ. Where would FG get the money, we've not been told. GEJ has shown once again that he's not the visionary leader that Nigeria needs. We need a leader that would take decisions based on reality and not sentiment and political tokenism. |

I believe you guys are just yapping because Mourinho didn't execute it well, i mean if he hadn't been seen 'passing instructions' to Alonso and Ramos, and they still got the marching order, would you guys be complaining now? We all know Mourinho is a winner, and he exploits every avenue in and out of the book to achieve his objectives. This is why he's arguably the best club coach in the world and one of the best coaches in the world. There is nothing wrong in exploiting the weakness(es) in a law, as long at is done perfectly well, so much so that there is no proof to that effect. i bet you Mourinho has learned a lesson from this and next time, he won't be caught napping @ all. |

As a matter of fact, he didn't call the lawmakers rascals, he only said it would amount to legislative rascality if the the controversial bill is passed- There is a difference between the two. The part that would have actually earned him suspension was the part where he said the people should rise up in arms against the National Assembly- that was very unnecessary. We should not forget that not quite long ago, Obahiagbon himself was part of the PDP rascals, and i doubt if he has ceased to be one. He is only protesting because he wants the people to see him as a progressive, just like some pretenders in the ACN. |

We should be ashamed as a Nation that people who have stolen from the public till are not being prosecuted in Nigeria but outside our shores. Regardless of how 'small' the sentence is, it is a welcome development in Nigeria. All we need to bring the thieves who have milked Nigeria dry to the book is a genuine system, where a credible, free and fair election can take place in order to elect a true and honest leader. |

Every right thinking Nigerian know that Atiku Abubakar has lost one of the most important attributes of a good politician- CREDIBILITY.
