ThisTrend:
I'm a Science student, here's my WAEC result.
I'm planning to study Biochemistry in University.

Do you think I'll be admitted into my choice of Institution... I'm aspiring to study at Unilorin, OAU, ABU, Futminna or Unilag. Do you think any of the University above would accept me??

Geography; E8
Civic Education: D7
English Language; C4
Mathematics; B3
Agricultural Science; C4
Biology; C6
Chemistry; B3
Physics; F9
Dye and Bleaching; F9

Which other science courses do you suggest for me??

Dear, do endure to rewrite WAEC again or, if you have written NECO do wait for the result. I used my NECO result to gain admission to study Biochemistry in OAU. In case you are considering giving up Biochemistry as a career, I will advice you don't. As far as Science is concerned, Biochemistry is the best profession you can be in. In case you are laying more concern on the delay writing another WAEC, I will say the waiting is worth it. Biochemistry is the best you can have. At any rate, endure to choose OAU. It's the best in the profession.
Romance / Honestpen Writes: Common Lies We Tell Ourselves. by HonestPen: 5:08am On Jul 18, 2017
This topic has been orbiting my mind now, I think, for a good numbers of days. And it's been given me this writers spur of why not write about it, after all, that's what you are born to do. Writing.

1. Every Girl Is Beautiful: Well, I wouldn't say this is a lie, because that will be me telling a lie myself: this notion, if you will permit and agree with me, is, in every way and perspective you can think of it a complete lie. Every girl is, can't, and will never be beautiful. To argue this is to say everybody is rich which, we both know, without any argument is, and can't be true. Every girl is not beautiful, just the same way every guy out there is not handsome. Myself as a case study.

2. We All Can Make It: Unfortunately, this has not always been the case. Everyone has not been making it. Of course I do, I do understand the irrepressible urge, the Constantine feeling of giving someone a hope of life, I do. But then, as commendable and noble our motive may be, it doesn't actually help our subject as we would believe: it only helps in the propagation of a white lie. No matter how we will think of it, there will always be a gateman to open someone else's gate, as much a maid to mop someone else's floor. We all can make it is a lie we commonly tell ourselves.

3. Love Is Blind: This stands the only clause I till now find to be funny, and as much cunning. Someone somewhere must be trying to excuse his once upon a time story of dumbness. Yes, we must blame someone. Some kind of excuse when we fail in our relationships. And Love just seems to be the perfect guy that will take the place of Akon when things dive south. Love, if I must say, is not blind, we are. And we can begin by telling ourselves that.

4. We Author Our Own Destiny: Never for once have I found so contradictory a statement in my life. Authoring and Destiny in the same line is a broken piece that won't fit together, a cognitive dissonance. If you will, this in particular stands the greatest in my list of lies we commonly tell. Destiny is fixed, like a close circle. A man can move around, do his best, but everything within the confinement of space the circle affords; never outside the circle. A mere inspection, the two greatest moments of a man's life, birth and death is never authored by him. If we are to be pathetic, he doesn't even witness both. Yet still, we will comfort ourselves with a nonexisting autonomy of control over our lives and events.
No better way to tell a lie.

5. We Are All Equal: For the first time, I think somebody needs a slap. Joke aside, we are not, in anyway and by anything equal, not even before God. Yes not before God, but I won't dive into that(this is not a religious piece). But the truth remains, every time we tell ourselves this, we are doing nothing but lying to ourselves. Because, if we are equal, why then can't you just Willy nilly walk into certain places.

Well, there are more, but this should be enough for now. But if you will, you can always share what you think about these, and you can always add yours to the list.

Romance / Ever Had A Courtly Love? Describe How It Feels Inside. by HonestPen: 6:04pm On May 17, 2017
For those of us who quite don't know what a courtly love is, a courtly love is someone, preferably a Lady, that you, for some reasons beyond but not beyond comprehension hold dear and dearly with a pure heart and rites but under no circumstances, be it normal, abnormal, extreme pro irreconcilable extremities should you have a love, romantic, or sexual relationship with.

With this simple knowledge, if i may, have you at a time had a Lady you would class as this, or, do you have one presently?

In any case the answer maybe, can you share what it feels like loving someone and not able to define a relationship with such person.

As for me, it feels like a sunset in a sunrise. Like a hole in a space. it is, in one word, sickening.

Like it or not, we can't all be the same. Given that truth, it is better we stick to our own ideology. Live and let live. No point crying out loud about what you perceive as right. After all, it is only a perception.

Yes. there are gods but theres is only one supreme God.

even we humans are gods and can do anything when we attract the TRUE energy.

Op, it is still our human senses and abilities that developed super computers and super bugs.

but don't disturb ur zillions brian cells with the ways of Gods...lol..u just can't debug that.

either u believe in God or not...

now that you are alive and when u are gone beyond... God remains.

Happy sunday
Supremacy is not a birth right. It is won. Besides, we are not discussing the existence of gods here. We are speaking of their nature and their acts. It is just a question question of if you fall a victim of erroneous ideas about their nature. We are here to help ourselves understand their nature. And yes, they can be understood. They might be beyond our thoughts, but not our reasoning. If we understand their nature, many myths will be debunked, and humanity can advance more rapidly.

I believe you are a Christian, tell me, if God comes, and he is a machine, a robotic machine, will you accept him as the one you pray to everyday? No, I assume. You now see the chances of losing everything you have fought hard to believe in?
Religion / White Facts About The God by HonestPen: 10:02am On May 07, 2017
Well, this is not an insult to the races of Gods, or to the faith of those who believe in them. I believe in the Gods too. Lol...

Anyway, to the business of the day.

The Gods Are Nothing Like Us: Often I have heard the Christians, one of the three Abrahamic faith, speak in some light of their God being human like them—bearing their semblance. The Muslims I see refused the idea and temptation of picturing its God in that light. Others like Buddhist followed. While this is creative, the weight of truth will likely support the latterly mentioned. The Gods are nothing like us. They could be anything in form but not anything like man. They could be nothing but machines, robots, well worked out fusion of mineral resources. Repulsive right? But that's what they are likely like. Not humans.

They Are A Technologically Advance Race: One day, not quite long a time now, a coursemate of mine asked me some questions about what I think about the subject of the Gods. What kept him surprise was my description of them. The Gods, I said, are the greatest technologist alive. I quite don't know which God creates the heaven and the earth, none of us do. But whoever does, have this super computers built, or he himself is one. Seasons and time scheduling could be nothing but a simple Boolean query (lol...don't know if I am right about that—don't know much about programming, but what I'm trying to say is they might be a simple on and off programming.)

The early God was referred to as the Sky God. The legend had it that this God flew across the sky. Well, the knowledge of Physics and Reality affirms you can just willy nilly fly across the sky, something will propel you. Electromagnetism comes to mind, inwardly generated or outwardly. Moreover, it was told this particular God flew in something across the sky like a beans. Of course the word sauce wouldn't in that age have come to mind, but it would be a sauce. The Sky God flew in a space craft!! Even according to the legends of Noah, they gave us our technology, a chip set of their technology. Heaven might not be a place of spirituality as conceived, but home of advance technology.

The Gods Are Not Just: I tend to wonder what religious people mean when they said the Gods are just. I don't quite know. But the truth here is the Gods are not. Like us humans, there is a constant wind of power tussle. Every God that remained Supreme did it with blood shed. There were coups, some succeed, and some failed. Either way it went, there would be a bloodshed. Favourably quoted from the psalm was a verse that said, "Yahweh sit in the councils of El delivering judgement." Yahweh was just not there to speak, it was an overthrow. El was an early God that preceded Yahweh. As it was found, El was originally the Sky God, as later traced the God of Abraham (You can check the book, The History of Gods by Karen Armstrong for more information). Now the God of Moses was YAHWEH, and he was the one talking in that verse, in the council that once belonged to El, the supreme. YAHWEH took over, and the judgement reduced some other Gods to mortal men. What happens to mortal men? They die. That was what happened.
Blood was shed.

Many things we can say about humanity but not much we can say about the Gods. The Gods are a distant race of higher beings. Most of them have gone into oblivion, some of them remains. Most of them were accepted, most of them rejected. What is of concern however will be our reactions when we finally meet these gods whom English has tagged in the not demeaning not praising pantheon of legends and myths. The line is not parallel; giving recent development it's converging. Gods and humanity will converge one day. What remain the question is: will the world accept a race of absolute difference, will the Christian accept God when he presents itself in a form we have not known him to be? Will the Muslims accept a robotic God as Allah if that's what he truly is? Will the white facts be just yet another lie disproved, or yet affirmed truth by the visitation of these Gods?

Well, I wouldn't say you are too forward neither will I say you are not. For all it could be, our understanding of forwardness might be exclusively entwined.

But on a note, I think I should give you an hint against next time.

Telling a girl you like her in itself is a wrong idea altogether. Love or likeness is meant to be demonstrative. You live, not speak. As well, try and get rid of the delusion of nonexisting presumed closeness. It seems to be a bad part of you. The WhatsApp dug sudden likeness.
Romance / Re: ju by HonestPen: 2:19pm On May 06, 2017
You should be thankful you can even speak. One handsome rich dude out there is dumb, and he didn't come here shouting.

Let me just tell you what a girl told me sometimes ago when I told her i have no emotion:

"Accept yourself for who you are. No matter how you try, you cannot improve on yourself. Cos that's the way you are wired to behave. If you improve, then that's not your nature, it's imposed. Your true self is original: Original don't get improved, neither can they be changed yet, they are durable and lasting."

I agreed with her, and I am channelling my energy into something more productive. If you can't speak fluently, you can sure well think fluently. A word is enough for the dumb, a wise person only need a fragment. Stop flaunting your problems on nairaland.

Trust me when I say, the mental impoverishment of youths nowadays is a dismaying sight.

The hell it could be man! Relationship is not the whole life of a person; it is just of many aspects of our lives. It's your birthday, so what? She didn't remember so what?

Get a mental upgrade bro. There are many things to busy the mind with aside your birthday.

I don't know what she went through. Therefore, i had no tenacity to pass judgement. Meanwhile somewhere:

A girl saved her fathers photo as her screen saver on her phone. At school another girl saw the photo and told her.......... "you also know this sugar daddy? I hate him, he doesn't use condoms!

Only if people understand the mental work involved in being an introvert they will bow. Well I won't say I am an introvert because that would be me lying—i'm quite something of the extreme psychologist refer to as Schizoid. Give me one, but from what I know and evaluate in my Introverted aspect of my Schizoid personality, Introversion is the key to any woman's heart. This is because, Introverts are super intelligent. Let's push the quietness and reservedness aside, an intelligent person is hard to write off. Put it on the grade, Introverts will round 70% of women: reserved quietness, unprecedented intelligence, and rich wealth of understanding of an introvert is something no type of personality can match up with.

To be honest with you, Geology holds more a brighter tomorrow if, of course, he has dreams beyond Nigeria. But since we are limiting him to Nigeria, his chances are equal and unequal— like every other graduates out there. For now, I will say he acquire skills in ICT alongside Geology to equip himself against the ultimate search if it comes to that. If you will take it, I will advise he runs the program(Geology) in OAU. Their geology is the best, might not get a first class, but it holds higher reputation in the labour market; even a 2.2.
