Mpg calculation is the average of city driving (high traffic)and highway (no traffic) as you can see below as dense traffic situation has already been taken care of . No necessary for u to get the exact but at least what matter is the level of deviation from the manufactured mpg will serve as a good guide

eRex: I think its fair...I use a Mazda mpv from ijede(30 mins drive from ikorodu round about) in ikorodu to yaba daily..:and spend about 3k fuel daily... I don't always use AC.. But depending on how bad the traffic is .. I still get fuel marker reading higher than I started my journey. Heard sienna consumes more... So + AC plus in 2hours traffic.. I thinks its fair. Your conclusion on this matter is already biased cos u are using your Car has a basis ,how are sure you car too is not a fuel guzzler due to emission related faults ??Do a fair calculation using distance covered with amount of fuel consumed . |

Bosun13: I just get d car that's why I want to know weither is normal..... when I use obd2 test ... this is result I get P0135 P0141 P0155 All these are 02 sensor malfunction codes and personally from experience I don't take decision from codes cos it can be misleading especially when u have not reported any specific symptoms,I make my final judgment from live data and electrical testing result . So it better u go for diagnoses in any competent techie workshops that has been tested and trusted!!! |
Car Talk › Re: Pls Help Me O... Sienna 2000 by honmusa(m): 3:01pm On Sep 03, 2017 |
Bosun13: ... thanks Let me give u simple guide Your car average normal fuel consumption is 8km/litre and taking into consideration AC and other factors let make it 7 km/litre. 4k fuel is around 26litre ,hence under normal condition your car should be able to cover around 180 km with that 4k worth of fuel .And your calculation should be around that range to indicate that all is still well with your car systems generally. So buy your 4k Worth of fuel and zero your trip meter or take a record of odometer and note the distance that the odometer will cover till your exhaust the 4k fuel . |

use your vehicle trip meter or odometer to get the convered distance right to better judgement. |

harryobi: Dear forumites, my Nissan Murano does not ''fire'' . Once you apply pressure on the trotle you will hear this sound noise and then the car will have no pressure to drive moving as if there is no fuel in the car.
Once brake is applied the whole steering shakes.
My mechanic says gearbox without showing me that on a diagnosing machine.
What do i do?
Thanks for helping out. U need to take your call to a recommended mechanic for diagnosis and fix .State your location if we can get trusted and tested in your area. |

arbass: Good day house. Please I have a major issue with a 2003 Toyota Sienna. It literally drinks fuel. Black smoke comes out from the exhaust. Several mechanics have worked on it with no fruitful result. I've changed the nozzles, brainbox, sparkplugs(twin electrodes), airflow meter, fuel pump. In fact I'm so fed up. Any suggestions from the house so I can intimate my mechanic as the car is still at a workshop. You need to change your mechanic cos he has been doing trial and error on your car ever since and he will turn your car to scrap if he continues Take your car for proper diagnosis to locate the issue. The black smoke is a sign of high fuel consumption as a result of feeding the engine computer (brainbox) flawed input signal from the sensors. Free scan for you if u can locate my workshop this week. |

You probably have a slipping transmission issue . check your ATF fluid level ,confirm the colour and smell for sign of burnt .if all these test confirm OK .locate a recommended techie around you that is skilled in diagnosis to help in troubleshooting this issue. finally don't attempt to take your car to kazeem so as not to turn your car worse than before!! |

geovidal: it is not smoking. If it is not smoking then are there indication that shows that you are losing oil externally ? |
Car Talk › Re: Engine Oil Shortage by honmusa(m): 8:48am On Aug 21, 2017 |
geovidal: What causes engine oil shortage? Oil shortage can be due to internal leak or external leak . External leak is mostly due to worn seal eg valve cover seal and there is presence of oil lurking around the engine and even under the ground where the car is parked . Internal leak is mainly due to worn seal right inside the engine eg worn valve seal ,piston ring and the symptoms is mostly noted by white smoke coming out of the exhaust. |

xdos: Hello Op... nice post you have here. Now you have given causes of overheating, I was hoping you'll also give us resolutions to these overheating causes. I have a crv (99) that is overheating. If one drives below 80KM/hr, overheating wont happen unless one is stuck in traffic. But if I drive above 80Km/hr, that is when I experience overheating. The coolant/water dries out. What do you think could be the cause of this? Check the direction of your fan !!! |

freeman500: I will suggest u change your radiator to a bigger type. it is called double cell radiator. what it does is that it will contain more water, this means more water will be circulating through the engine thus making the engine cool. Bad advice !!! seems you know more than the manufacturer of the car that spend millions of dollars on research and development hence decide to put single cell that you now decide to alter their specification !!! |

uboma: Haha bro.
So for a whole 365 days, the water in the radiator will not go drop, hence no need to even check it regularly except there is a leak.
I beg to disagree Sir. Yes sir ,there wont be leak at all especially if you are using coolant .This is not theory nor YouTube but is a reality from experience gotten from more decade of professional practice . If there is any reason for the level of coolant to reduce no matter how small and you need to be toopping up to make up for it then there there is leak however the issue with those leak especially the very small one is that they are not discernable to even an expert eye .You will need specialize equipment to detect this. If still doubting my submission ,and you have a case ,you can bring it to my workshop and I will fish out the leak for you for free ,I don't believe in much talk but action !!!! |
