In spirit of fairness, I wish to bring the attention of the mods and nigerians to this:
I, (autologic) started a thread (https://www.nairaland.com/6614323/questions-answers-thread-ac-system#102955499) yesterday and the purpose is for education purpose only ,share training and troubleshooting tips,new testing methods . the whole essence is to contribute own our quota to development of automotive ac system in nigeria and to debunk alot of wrong ideas and thoughts .
Waking up this morning, the growing thread was no more, I was dismayed and disappointed that such a rich content will deleted i.e a whole complete thread wipe out .
I want to know if it a deliberate act by the mods cos some rules are broken or intentional attempt just to silence some of us cos we challenging the status quo and at the same time educating people or some people pride are being hurt cos we are not speaking the same language or probably it is a system glitch .

I really appreciate the good works you are doing, I noticed coolant loss in the radiator on my Toyota Highlander 2004, took it to the mechanic and he replaced radiator cap, still had same issues and car got overheated, took it back and noticed a leak on the plastic part on the top of the radiator, he replaced the plastic part and still same issue of coolant loss after driving, while washing the car this morning, I noticed lots of coolant on the rear floor behind the front passenger seat, the coolant gets so much and also little around the front passenger just along the door side, but that if the rear floor seems so plenty after driving what could be the cause and solution I would appreciate thanks

Go for cooling system pressure test ,this test will pinpoint the source of leakage within few minutes .

Change your mechanic .
More attention should be paid to what is responsible for the repeated failure than the fixing which is why u need to look for a technician that can perform thorough diagnosis on the AC system as ac system has it own special diagnosis procedure .
Also the compressor system of c230 is VDC type and installation require paying attention to detail and spec.

This is a thread stictly for cooling system and not HVAC system (ac) .
Cooling system are the system in your vehicle that remove excess heat from the engine and transmission and maintain optimum temperature for the engine and transmission and components include : Radiator ,hoses,fan,coolant ,etc.
However I will still answer your HVAC question.
Before you can talk about blocking leak in ac system you need to identify the point of leakage and some of the method that can be used depending on the area of leakage includes;
1. Soap and water
2.Dye
3.electronic sniffers
4.Vacuuming with stopper valve .

Note that This is a thread for cooling system not HVAC -coollng system refers to that system of an engine that remove wasted heat and maintain the engine temperature eg radiator ,coolant hoses and pipe etc .
To answer your question about HVAC, :There are many methods and techniques that can be used to detect leakage in AC system depending on location of the leaks

Your compressor clutch is designed to be turned on by the ground controlled compressor relay by the PCM which gets signal from HVac switch via the bus system.
To get seasonable response to this issue ,you need to revert by answering this question :
1.What is the repair history of the AC?
2. Any recent electrical work done before this issue?
2.On what condition does the AC turn itself on?

I mean the nuzzle injects more fuel than necessary into the chamber and this makes the car accelerate unnecessarily. And sometimes, the excess fuel would not start because of over floating in the chamber.

Hello car gurus please help a brother out ooo.. my mazda 6 2005 v6 was having Ac troubles so I called a rewire to help with it..he said one of the fans were not working so he fixed it along with the ac relay..ever since then the car jerks violently..I mean very violently when put into gear and goes off...I am desperately in need of any expert on mazda cars or a contact of a good electrician to help with this..any where around Gbagada or Yaba area..

all these codes is just a pointer to certain issue related to O2 sensor issues (P0135,p0141) -,check heater and heater circuit,evap issue(P0498) ,idle control issue (P0509) vvt (P1009)
Scan codes are just preminary diagnoses,low level test is needed . Go for further diagnoses test that will accurately fish out the faults in any professional and recommended tech shop.

It a wrong perception that we need to do away with on nairaland .Nissan is my first car and i prefer it to any toyota.
There is nothing evil about Nissan ,is just lack of understanding about how system works and the skill to do a thorough low level diagnosis has made most people feel so .

Pardon my ignorance sir, but do you think the change of the silencer may likely be the cause for the fuel consumption?

where exhaust can contribute to drastic and noticeably fuel consumption is due to restriction and leak .However the owner has confirmed the muffler empty so she should check elsewhere.

no lie. i have discussed this in other threads as well. at times i drive erratically just to get ride of fuel or make the fuel light come on (not damaged o)

i have two ford cars one naija and oversea both done 60mpg and over easily. in the oversea i do drive like a maniac and still.

the one in naija i tested again a 1.0 litre micra beat and won by margins. other peeps with dis vehicle please testify

I don't think so.... petrol is catching up. I have a ford petrol bought N2000 in lagos 4 days ago then came to ibadan full speed still using same petrol as am typing.

I was baffled so I checked the car manual to find why....de engine was rated up 60mpg.

I'm having a serious doubt with my rx300 cooling system : it takes quite long for the radiator fans to kick in and when they do it doesn't take them more than 15 to 20 secs max for them to come off and then it will take at least 5 minutes foe them to come on again , while the engine is running on idle. is this normal ? Shouldn't they run a bit longer ?

Oga ,this is what is being referred to as controlled system ,there is inbuilt controller(ecu ) that will monitor some input signal(engine temperature) and base on that will make the decision on that and will determine the duration the fan will work .

Pls don't use carburetor to clean your MAF if u don't want to shorten its lifespan,look for electronic cleaning fluid. And concerning the issue of O2 sensor .,If it is bad just change it ,it no use try to revive already dead cos its efficiency has already degraded due to ageing even u succeeded in waking it up .You need O2 sensor that is working at its full potential to give u good fuel management function.

Please guys my Camry 2003 steering wheel vibrates on speeds of between 80-120km/h. It stops once car goes above 120km/h.

I have done countless wheel balancing and alignments , replaced steering tierods , tyres have been inspected and said to be in good condition. Don't know what else to check . please help

No amount of alignment correction that can repair any undisireable clearance within the suspension system .
Check and confirm all the suspension parts as mentioned by nurey

I have gotten a similar case of jeep commander 2008 that belong to ivoryhouse that refuse to rev past 2000 due to a single cylinder misfire .And is when the issue was finally fixed that the rev become normal .
I have work on several Nissan due to similar case ,especially cases of timing and compression ,just expect the rev to go berserk.
like I stated earlier engine has been changed and the rev is now OK .

Thanks all for your concern about the issue of pathfinder ,the engine has already been changed and the car is reving well now ,despite the fact the the solenoid error code still persist which still prove the issue is from engine .
Later when the customer agree to go ahead with the subsequent fixing of other minor issue ,we make a full study of the car .

that's a very dull mechanic and I will say that anywhere.

owing to the fact that similar symptoms on two different vehicles will never or might not point out the main culprit.

checking the net should be very last resort.

only check the net for rare vehicles with silly cases.. not this easy one

the main problem here is this :

most peeps don't even understand the principle of pressure or engine compression I doubt if most of you guys understand the working principle of an engine

that's why most peeps here have a pile of return jobs
u even see cars lined up in their garage for as long as a year.
just because of their shallow knowledge on diagnosis

as for those of u who recommend the mechanic work on the engine, please kindly Access YouTube and watch videos on MRO facilities, then u will know y local mechanics shouldn't open your engine

am tempted to mention so called big names here who have a very shallow knowledge on diagnosis and can't tackle complex issues .
but I won't
and no one should force me too

cause have being to their garage and studied their work ethics

there is no harm in trying out 5w30 even wen u have used the wrong oil ,it might still work for your car .I have lot customer that their car still work fine with 5w30 after years of abuse with wrong oil .

Don't be too eager to replace the cat of the cost. Check for exhaust leak first, cos exhaust leak around the cat monitoring sensor will trigger this code.

Oh! I get. The exhaust is broken right at the joint after the catalytic converter; could that be the cause? Or I should just start from the air intake down to the exhaust.


Another thing I noticed this noon is that the injectors have no pulse. What do you think can cause that? All fuses tested ok?
