The purpose of Jesus being born was for Him to die for the sins of the world and His purpose and mine are different. My purpose is to live in the Authority and Power of His death and Resurrection as more than a conqueror preach His gospel to all nations and if per chance while in the cause of doing this I am killed then He can fill the gaps I have left in His own way but I do not wake up everyday wishing or praying to die that day as that is not my purpose.

I run a Property firm and have a little over 30 staff and 26 of my staff are married some with kids and some without but they all have dependants. If I had died fast perhaps they would not have a job like this and they and their dependants would be in trouble.

God please keep me alive for much longer so I can be an even greater blessing to my generation and I can leave a legacy for my Children and my Generation so my dreams and desires will not die with me...In Jesus name....Amen.

Op since you have no reason to be alive as well why not take a gun or a knife or a rope and cop out fast so that those with purpose can remain and be a blessing to more.

Moreover Jesus did not ask us to pray to die. We have a purpose of being here and we want to fulfill it. What we pray for is to make heaven at last. We have eternity to spend with Jesus so what"s the need rushing to die early in this very short life without fulfilling our purpose ?

We pray for long life because you have your children to train, you have other members of your family to train, you have other people to impact in their lives. Your points are valid but the truth is that politicians are using religion to win people's support. I dont see the need for their stupid sponsorship of pilgrimages. It pains me when huge sums are spent on pilgrimage.
Again some christians play mumu to their pastors that's why you see responsible men lying on the floor while pastor marches on top.
Christianity is not the problem but its practitioners. If we follow what Christ taught us there wont be problem.

Religion is not Naija's problem but part of it.
Christianity has played positive roles too in Nigeria so we can't make a blanket condemnation in this issue.

Nobody is scaring anybody. Both eternal torment and the non eternal torment are unpleasant situations so don't give yourself false hope.
We are all aiming to make heaven but we can't stop saying the truth.

Praying for satan is almost like praying for atheists to repent. Just that an atheists is a human who may still have the chances of getting pardoned unlike the devil whose fate is sealed.
Rather than pray for the devil i will pray for myself and my fellow human so that we all make heaven where we will enjoy the bliss you have requested for here.

If prayer works, you should be able to ask God to do things that only God can do. Things that can't possibly happen by chance, e.g:

* To grow a major human body part that is completely nonexistent, such as a missing eyeball or an amputated limb, live on CNN & FOX.

* To empower you to pick up one of the huge rocks at Olumo in Abeokuta, and cast it into the sea as Jesus promised in Matthew 17:20.

Jesus did not bow down to Satan's request for miracle. Yet he did so many miracle at his own time not as Satan's request.

if you examine the second verse quoted you will see the relationship between it and this one

Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

only if u understand the meaning of forever and ever as i stated before will you see the connection between the two verses (ps 68:2 and rev 14:10-11) . tormented in the presence of the lamb and perish in the presence of God... they are not contradictory but complementary. they will be tormented according to their crimes and doings.. but their end is to perish(die) in the presence of God

i would also really appreciate if you could actually prove my points wrong. you've put forth scriptures and i have tried to explain them and given u verses that explain them like in the case of eternal fire and worm dieth not.. since you say the lake of fire is endless burning for all of eternity regardless of crimes i would really appreciate if you could then explain the verses i quoted above that explain the ones u quoted and talk about eternal destruction.

i really hope I'm not arguing with a dogma.. i would like to learn but first u need to prove your points to me rather than just telling me that I'm shying away from the truth.. if i wanted to twist the scripture i would simply quote old testament verses that say when you die you just cease to exist. but i don't like quoting things out of context. if u claim I'm preaching a lie then prove it by explaining the things i told u to

Friend, you are just doing abracadabra with the scripture just to frame up a torment that will not last forever. I have nothing to gain if people are tormented forever. I am just stating things how it is. No matter how scary the message may appear, it has to be delivered rather than trying to adulterate it.

Yes the bible said the dead in Christ are sleeping but they are also referred to as dead in the bible.
John 11;11-14
11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

12 Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.

13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.

14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.



The verses you quoted did not in any way explain the one i quoted, you just mixed things up. The explanation you gave to forever and ever is really funny. When it is forever and ever or eternal you start painting it as temporal but when it is destruction you dont paint, it becomes a one-off thing.

This issue has been argued over and over in this forum. We cant keep going round. Those who wants to give themselves false hope of temporary punishment can go ahead. The issue of our eternal destinations is what everyone must face (either heaven or hell). There is no unbeliever in hell fire. Anybody who finds himself there will not need to doubt it again.

Thanks my brother. Even here they have a whatsapp group where they meet and discuss religious issues. It was those of them here that made this known to us. In this same nairaland religion section they create various threads where they promote atheism. They also create threads of "conversion from christianity to atheism" stories(testimonies) of atheists just like we do yet that guy is busy pretending as if he doesnt know.
