Since the slave-master is an enemy of the slave, if the slave prays to the same God as the master, he is praying to the God that enabled the slavemaster to enslave him. Therefore, that God is the enemy of the slave or captive just as the slave-master is. |
Patsey:In 1452 Pope Nicholas V issued the papal bull Dum Diversas, which granted Afonso V of Portugal the right to reduce any "Blacks, pagans and any other unbelievers" to hereditary slavery. The approval of slavery under these conditions was reaffirmed and extended in his Romanus Pontifex bull of 1455. In 1488 Pope Innocent VIII accepted the gift of 100 slaves from Ferdinand II of Aragon and distributed those slaves to his cardinals and the Roman nobility. Also, in 1639 Pope Urban VIII purchased slaves for himself from the Knights of Malta. |

Oil reserves found off Namibia coast Wed Jul 6, 2011 JOHANNESBURG, July 6 (Reuters) - A company owned by Chariot Oil and Gas Ltd has found an estimated 11 billion barrels in oil reserves off Namibia's coast, AFP news agency reported on Wednesday, citing Mines and Energy Minister Isak Katali. "Katali said that Enigma Oil and Gas, owned by London-listed Chariot Oil and Gas, has identified 11 prospects along the southern coast," AFP said. The largest of these is the Nimrod Prospect, at a depth of 350 metres, it quoted Katali as telling parliament. Lydia Amutenya, a public relations officer at the mines and energy ministry, said she had not seen Katali's statement to parliament as she had been away when it was prepared. Katali said first production could begin as early as 2015, AFP reported. In March, Chariot's chief executive said the company expected to raise the amount of oil it believed it could tap at an important drilling site off the coast of the African country. Namibia, largely known for its uranium deposits, has the same geological formations as Brazil, where recent oil finds have raised hopes for similar discoveries across the Atlantic. Lagos embraces recycling option By Michael Simire The Nigerian commercial capital city of Lagos has adopted an environmental management approach that seeks to recover discarded materials from the waste stream for further beneficiary use. With a population of over 17 million people that generate about 9,000 metric tons of waste daily, the bustling megacity that holds 30 percent of the nation’s urban population is striving to effectively control the fast-emerging mountains of refuse or risk being inundated by them. Courtesy of its Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), government has embarked on resource recovery endeavours such as a landfill gas capture, nylon buyback programme, compost facility, and recycling banks/plants. In fact, the authorities have in recent years reportedly invested around N30 billion and N40 billion in capital and recurrent expenditure respectively. Head of LAWMA, Ola Oresanya, said last week that green waste such as grass or flower cuttings and hedge trimmings are being processed into compost, discarded paper into new products (like toilet paper, paper bags and notebooks) and unwanted tyres into rubber products (sandals, mats rubber bands and new tyres). On the gas capture scheme, he said, “At the Olusosun Landfill, we have developed gas wells to manage and recycle municipal solid waste into clean energy. Landfill gas can be generated 24 hours per day, seven days a week. Landfill gas is extracted from landfills using a series of wells and a blower (or vacuum) system. “This system directs the collected gas to a central point where it can be processed and treated depending on the ultimate use for it. Landfill gas-to-energy projects do not only mean decreasing the hazards towards our climate; they also serve as a substitute for fossil fuels, such as natural gas.” He noted that, before year’s end, the scheme would commence producing electricity. His words: “The end point of it is when we are going to invite you by God’s grace by the end of this year to come and see electricity that will come from that site. We are still working on it, there are two ends to that waste-to-energy programme; one is to convert the methane gas to energy, the other side is with the Dutch government who probably has signified interest to buy our own Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) emission reduction credits, which we are developing. We are converting what should have been our own pollution to energy, so the project is considered as a CDM. When the world’s greatest polluters give you money for not polluting, they count it as their own milestone for buy-back of emission to the air. So, the total number of methane gas that we are able to save will be paid for by the Dutch government and they will come and measure the total number of gas they we have captured and they will pay us. That is just on the CDM and carbon credit programme which is a United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) project.” He described the initiative as undergoing a pump test, and that a simulation by UNFCCC experts had revealed a “very robust deposit of methane is in that place.” On its registration with the Designate National Authority (DNA), he said, “Well, we have our compost programme already registered and we have a PIN for that but got the Olusosun (gas capture site) registered through the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank and not through the DNA. But we are still going to synchronise it and get it ratified under the DNA.” The LAWMA boss noted that the government had been able to access an international facility. “Well, immediately after the Copenhagen summit, knowing the deprivation from the Africa region in accessing the Green Climate Fund, there are different bodies now that have been set up to assist African countries to really access this fund and there are funds to new project identification and packaging. Only two cities in Africa have accessed the fund and they are Johannesburg and Lagos. It is called the Africa Carbon Asset Development Fund. We have accessed the fund and making progress already, we have the grant to package for other sites other than Olusosun. We are now aligning other sites like Abule Egba and Solus, which are our potential project sites where the ACAD fund is now being showcased.” According to him, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US-EPA) is involved in one of LAWMA’s project by part-funding along with ACAD. He named the sites as Abule Egba and Solus, where the organisation is doing a methane assessment, which will be followed by a pump test. He said, “After that, I am sure we can do all necessary due diligence in making sure that the projects are registered. And I am sure the DNA will be interested in picking that up, and we have similar projects that can go under the CDM. Our Transfer Loading Station is being package as a CDM project, and we have the big one coming up at Epe, which costs about $80 million. It is also being package as a CDM project that will attract potential funding under the UNFCCC.” Oresanya further shed some light on plans by the authority to make Lagos Africa’s cleanest city in 2012. “First is to understand all it takes to be the cleanest and what it mean is we are going to compare ourselves with the best city in the world now, so that means proper bench marking. What is the cleanest city in Africa doing that we are not doing? We are already looking into that and whatever they are doing that we are not doing now, we want to do between now and next year and even do better. “There are several areas where we are the best in Africa for now but there are still a lot other areas where we believe we must still catch up. By and large, it is all about aspirations to make sure that we get the best practice. If there are no aspirations, there will be complacency. The greatest enemy of success is complacency, if we have been declared the cleanest city in , and by and large I think in West Africa, we are also doing very well and yes, everybody has been applauding the paradigm shift, the threat to that success is complacency and we don’t want to fall a victim of our own success and that is why we set new aspirations, as well as goals for ourselves.” Reacting to inquiries on what informed the city’s recycling programme, he contended, “On resource recovery we have our target that means we should be able to convert waste from its present form to a useful format. We have done our studies in the last six years, and what we are only seeing are the implementation of all the things we said we are going to do and we try now to show the public that the job is just starting. “You can be sure we are going to do more of recycling in Lagos; that is our new target. Our core area in waste management in Lagos now is in recycling, we want to be the best recycling city in Africa, we want to be able to convert substantial part of waste into new and useful items and, most especially, we want to have our own indigenous solution, using our own technology and combined with experience from other nations that have done it, using our internal capacity within LAWMA, academia and the general public. So, we are trying to evolve something that is very indigenous to Lagos as a city, to make sure that we do our conversion. A typical example of that is our buy-back programme, whereby we buy recoverable waste from people. We are not just doing it now, it has been with us in the time past in this part of the world.” He admitted that e-waste has become a challenge to the environment in the state and that the authority was collaborating bodies like the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA; NASREA, NPA and Customs in addressing the issue. “We are all involved in how to nip this in the bud. We are working as a team; what concerns LAWMA is warehousing and awareness of the product. Most of our recycling banks are actually to capture electronic wastes, as when you bring something, we give you something new in exchange. To make sure that monitors and computer sets we get them warehoused for potential people that will either take them back to the manufacturer s or come and build the plant that will destroy them here. We did not create them and I don’t think we have the technology to destroy them.” He described awareness over the recycling banks as just emerging but showing encouraging signs. “The awareness is slow but is coming up generally and people are getting to know them and what they actually stand for, we are yet to raise a lot of enlightenment about them, we want to test the ground and know the take-off point,. The response is about 20 percent away from our initial target and that means we have to do a lot of publicity that can push people towards its utilisation. By the time the recycling bug will catch up on everybody, it will be something good.” Source: http://www.independentngonline.com/DailyIndependent/Article.aspx?id=36976 |

Actress to die by hanging, says S-Court By Ikechukwu Nnochiri 8 july 2011 Friday was a sad day for Miss Rabi Ismail, an Hausa actress, as a 7-man panel of Justices of the Supreme Court, okayed her death by hanging. The embattled actress, who was based in Kano state, was accused of drowning her boyfriend, one Mr. Ibrahim Auwalu alias Zazu, in 2002, after she allegedly administered sedative drugs on him. The apex court held that having considered the proof of evidence tendered against the accused person by the Kano state Directorate of Public Prosecution, DPP, it found her guilty of culpable homicide punishable with death. The deceased boyfriend of the actress was said to have lost his consciousness shortly after he finished eating a doped Eclairs sweet handed to him by the accused person. Following a detailed investigation that was conducted into the matter by various security agencies in the state, the actress was accused of complicity and was subsequently charged to court by the Kano state DPP. Consequent upon her arraignment and trial before a Kano state High Court in 2002, the accused person was found guilty of culpable homicide contrary to section 221 (b) of the Penal Code and was accordingly sentenced to death by hanging. https://vml1.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Rabi-Ismaila.jpg Dissatisfied with the verdict of the trial court, Miss Ismail went before the Kaduna Division of the Court of Appeal, pleading it to overturn the death sentence slammed against her. To her dismay however, the appellate court upheld the decision of the lower court, adding that she should be hanged immediately. As a last resort, the actress proceeded to the Supreme Court, begging it to save her life. In its lead judgment prepared by Justice Francis Fedode Tabai, the apex court noted that the accused person failed to place sufficient evidence capable of convincing it that she did not murder her deceased boyfriend on December 25, 2002. It equally held that having examined the confessional statements of the accused, the depositions of all the witnesses that were called in the matter, as well as records of trial within trial earlier conducted by the lower courts, it did not see any reason to interfere with the decisions of either the trial High Court or the Appellate Court. Therefore, the 7-man panel of jurists found her guilty as charged and accordingly okayed her death sentence. Reacting to the judgment, counsel representing the Kano state DPP, Ms. Binta Lawal, said the state was only interested in ensuring that justice was done for both the deceased man and the accused person, stressing that the death sentence handed to Miss Ismail would not be celebrated. In Africa we did have philosophical thoughts before colonialism but we rejected them to adopt the way of thinking of the Arabs and Europeans invaders. - Give them back their Jesus and return to your Ancestors. - Give them back their Mohammed and return to your Ancestors. - Give them back their all their isms, islamism, christianism, judaism, and return to your Ancestors. It is an ism belief system set to divide and conquer African and mankind. |

Lack of funds set to stop Nigeria from int’l basketball tourneys Tuesday, 05 July 2011 Vincent Egboigbe Lack of funds is set to stop Nigerian basketball teams in junior categories from participating in international competitions beginning with the 2011 Africa Championships for U16 Men and Women billed for Egypt from July 8 – 17 and July 22 – 31 and also the 2011 FIBA World Championship for U19 Women slated for Chile from July 21 – 31. The National U19 Women national team qualified alongside Egypt to represent Africa at the FIBA U19 Championship as runners-up at the Afrobasket U18 finals in Cairo last year, but would not be attending the world championship as the Ministry of Sports/ National Sports Commission has turned down the request of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) for funding. NBBF had planned to use participation in the Africa cadet championships and the World U19 Championship as an opportunity to actualise its dream of building winning senior teams through the development of junior players who will dominate the continentin the near future, but with the funding problem, that plan may be end as a dream. The 2011 world championship would have been a unique opportunity to present a purposeful team with good chance of finishing in or very close to the medal bracket as against what obtained in the past. As it stands now, the team might pull out of the world championship due to the financial constraints and the fact that the 2011 national budget is yet to be operational. The NSC who is impressed with the progress made so far by the NBBF is said to be willing to assist with the funding the teams participation in these championship but is reportedly financially handicapped at the moment and the federation has exhausted all funding avenues without positive response. Spokesman of the federation Olusegun Ikuesan says not going to the championships will incur the wrath of FIBA as well as impact negatively on the country’s basketball. “We run the risk of being sanctioned because we have entered for the championship and again it is not good for the game in the country. There is little the federation can do on its own after all they sourced the money that was used for the preparation in the first place,” reveals Ikuesan Monday. “As you know taking the 24 players to Egypt will cost so much. Director General NSC Patrick Ekeji says he is willing to assist but that there is no money as implementation of the 2011 budget has not commenced. It is really sad because that is not how they treat football.” Source: http://www.businessdayonline.com/NG/index.php/sport-reel/24081-lack-of-funds-set-to-stop-nigeria-from-intl-basketball-tourneys |

Sweetnecta:La Ilaaha Illa Allah Muhammadan Rasuwl Allah. There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Muslims call this kalimat tayyiba, “the best word.” This is not found written like this, anywhere in your Koran! However, they are found in several verses. But they are broken into two parts; they are never together as one sentence. “Laa Ilaaha Illa Allah” is found alone in Koran 37:35 and 47:19, and in Koran 33:40 and 48:29 “Muhammadan Rasuwl Allah” is found alone. This is how it is written in the Koran of the Muslims. They are never found in the same place! Yet, the flag of Saudi Arabia (photo), which is where “the holy of holies” sit, in Mecca, has the same declaration, “the Kalimat Tayyiba,” written on it. Many of their Islamic books, posters, and leaflets don this man-made verse. However, if you or I were to take two verses from the Koran, and put them together to create one sentence, like “La Ilaaha Illa Allah,” they would call it shirk (associating partners with Allah) and have a heart-attack saying “as-taghfir Allah, hum min al kaafiriyn” meaning “seek forgiveness in Allah, they are disbelievers” or they will seek to kill you! https://factology.com/saudi_flag.gif The flag of Saudi Arabia |
Of course Nigeria can redeem it's already dented image, but to succeed it is time we stop blaming everything on others Nigerians, and start looking at ourself. However, we do not want to take the initial step in the reality that we are far from an angel, because that would mean responsibility. If we really begin to overstand that everything that happens to us is our own fault and take responsibility for all of our actions, then that’s when good things will start happening for us. |

But now the same dark skined African is ready to be a suicide bomber for the religion of his own Arab opressor. Today Islam has become more Arabism than Islam, but most Africans Muslims want to overlook the Arab racism in Islam. In Islam you will always find the dark skinned Africans people subservient to the Arab light skinned ruling class. |

Why do you think UK intelligence services want us to believe that they care so much about the safety of Nigerians when they themselves are at risk from terrorists attacks?. By creating a fear of terrorism in Nigeria, the UK with the help of the USA is trying to bring AFRICOM to Nigeria. This is just an "excuse" to invade Nigeria with US military troops. Nigeria is going to become like the Middle east if we let them in, I’m telling you before it happens or before it's too late. You have been warned! |
No Nigeria is not overpopulated, far from it. We have to look at the population density of Nigeria, ( people per square mile ). The population density of Europe is higher than in Nigeria, (more people per square mile than Nigeria), so in fact Europe is overpopulated and Europeans are not complaining about it. We have to create more jobs for the youngs |
