For the courses you listed above, the applications usually don't open till October/November. So just chill and wait. In the meantime, check the requirements of the schools you've shortlisted. Do you meet the requirements? Start gathering your documents and (if you're applying via Uniassist) money for uniassist, shipping your docs etc.

Yes. I meet the requirements. But I didn't choose the ones that uses uni-assist. Bcz I don't know how it's been done

You've been denied MSc Admission isn't a good reason to opt for a low college admission. Your chances of securing a VISA to Canada with such reason/college acceptance letter is slim but not impossible. With the high rate of scrutiny/refusals for study permit Applications coming from Nigeria, my best advice is that you should keep on searching until you're able to secure a master's program, even if it's a course-based oriented program. With regards to your question, police character certificate can be done in any part of Nigeria, including Abuja. Though the police headquarters in Abuja will have to forward your details to CID police headquarters at Alagbon, Lagos for due processing, which will then be sent back to them and might incur charges let's say 15-20k as it's not done within Abuja.

I'll just have to goto lagos for it.. I have applied for Masters for more than 7 times now. The college I got now is Conestoga for Post graduate certificate. I also have one application left to wait for, it's for May start. Is it better to wait for the outcome?

Hello All the Gurus in the house, I saw this somewhere and pls I want your response to it:

Don't Apply For Study Visa To Canada If Its Not Your Intention. Here's Why

Two years ago, two different people wanted to study in
Canada for their masters program

But between you and i...

They wanted to use that process to integrate
with the country and get permanent residence
once they are done.

Now here is what happened.

One got it...

The other one got denied.

Now the issue was not because the other
one was not qualified.

In short... The guy that got denied was much more
financially capable than the other guy running into
several tens of million in the bank account.

Now why is that

This is what happened.

The reason why the first guy that got his visa
granted two years ago was his age...

He's in his early 20s...

22 years of age with a First Class Degree

The second guy is a 34 Years old with a Second Upper
degree that has graduated over 10 years ago here in Nigeria

You see.

Its one thing for you to get admission to study in
any Canadian university.

Its another thing for you to get the visa from
the canadian government at the embassy

It may surprise you to know that The School and Embassy don't have anything tied together! In other words they both don't have any control over each other and they do their work separately.

Look, Canada knows that people are looking for alternative
ways to come live and work in their country and they
are saying this to everyone.

We want you to come to canada and live happy,
But you just have to go through the right
channel of how its done.

And one of the channel that the Canadians don't accept is if you
are saying you are coming to Canada to do your masters after
you have left school a long time ago and now above 30...

They will deny you.

Take it from me.

Chances of you getting this is simply 1 in 100.

The only people getting visa to study their master are those that
recently came out of school with clear distinctions and
want to simply further their education.

Now i know that those people applying for study permit are
doing so because they want to use that to also get residence

Here is my advice.

Go through other process of relocating to Canada legally.

They are not stopping anytime soon

Go through the process of either going through the
Federal Skill Program or the Provincial Nomination program. Work Permits and Visit Visas. Direct Employment Packages are also there.

It will work out.

All you have to do is to plan it.

Even if you have been told that you cant go
with your current criteria...

Look through other means even if it will cost you more money... If you are serious
Plan for it.

Thanks got this.. but is 30yrs on the dot okay?
Graduated 5years ago. What do u think of this

APPLICATION REFUSED

@ makano frankrobbn justmellow ralfudoh and all other Gurus in the house who understand this note attached below can share.

My study visa application was refused June 28th last two months and I immediately requested for gcms note that is attached in the image.

Timeline
Application submitted - May 30th
Background Check - June 7
Review of Eligibility - June 25th
Final decision - June 28th

On 26th of June I received Biometrics validation correspondence, so I kinda knew what was next.

BASIS OF REFUSAL
Just one reason was stated in the refusal notice which was based on PERSONAL ASSETS AND FINANCIAL Status.

Immediately I saw the refusal, I contacted the school for a deferment to winter intake which unfortunately was not available, they have just one intake for the 1year fall program. They guaranteed admission but I just have to pay application fee, University of Prince Edward Island. It's was difficult for me getting an admission to different schools applied to because of my GPA of 3.3/5.

Now I am looking forward to securing admission for winter intake which has bin challenging.

Documents/Funds Submitted include - Birth certificate, siblings document, parents documents, letter from Dad (Sponsor), landed property documents, my nysc certificate, British project management academy certificate, CAC documents for Sponsors business, my employment letter and other necessary documents.

Financials
Total funds needed - Tuition and other expenses - $7,800CAD
My account closing balance - #5,000, 000
Sponsors closing balance of naira account - #10, 000,000with domicilary account of $15,000USD

How can this note be addressed. Thank you, further clarifications can be enquired.

NOTE DETAILS

If so, why not just apply for a Graduate Diploma/Certificate related to any engineering field. It also shows a level of progression.

Good luck!

Bro, your CGPA is good enough. Try University of Regina. Mind you, I got rejected the first time I applied, but someone that had same issue adviced me to re-apply as it was very possible that they had met the admission quota for that academic intake (that was his experience when he emailed them to know why exactly he was refused an admission despite meeting the requirements).

What I did was re-apply, not to the closest academic intake (e.g Winter), as I dint want to risk having same issue, rather I applied for Summer intake (I got the admission). I was equally told that I have to find a supervisor myself, as I would need one to oversee my co-op progress, I tried to no avail. I kept calling all the offices in the school to let them know that their professors were not giving me a positive feedback. Did my best and just had to let go at some point. They ended up assigning a supervisor to me, along with the admission letter. grin

This is equally a good time to apply to University of Calgary, for fall 2020. They also granted me an admission without the hurdle of seeking a supervisor (although course based not Co-op, for Pet Eng., MEng).

The point of all these my long story: Your CGPA is good enough bro!!! I had a 2'1, but it's not as high as yours. TRY THE TWO SCHOOLS I SUGGESTED.

ehyah bro I feel your pain. Just keep trying and don't give up. remember it's not over until it's over.

I would advice that you look into your statement of interest or purpose or research or intent. This might be the reason considering the fact that you have a low cgpa. i have a first class and yet Manitoba denied me admission because I didn't write a convincing SOI or SOP.

Secondly, try and get a supervisor before you submit your application. submitting your application without having a potential supervisor it's like saying you are on your own. except your department is saying you don't need one. And even if they are saying that, still proceed to mailing faculty staff until you get one. Write a convincing mail to them and attach your CV. This is the best time to start mailing them. its difficult but you need to follow that hard way this time. God bless your Labour this time bro

Thank you very much for your response. Canada and US struggle are not near mate at all I swear..
If you see US admission plenty for my hand.. but I don't want to go to the US without been funded.. but canada Yes

many universities in Canada focus on your last 2 years GPA, if that 3.788 is your last two years GPA , then it is low for thesis masters, but for course based, it is low o, but few schools may consider it if there are few applicants to the program,
plus check their admission average very well before applying, like 75% is 3.75/5.0. Uwindsor accepts that as minimum for course base masters in engineering

Thank you for your response.. I hv always applied to course base masters. My last two years is higher.. I only applied to schools whose minimum requirement is 70 to 75%.
Pls if there is any uni you know.. let me check it out..

University of newbrunswick reject twice
Manitoba. Once
Saskatchewan 3times
Dalhousie once
Queens once

I even Evaluated my transcript so that it will be in the 4.0 scale.. dalhousie still rejected.

You can get admission.. apart from Queens university (wch I don't really know much about), unb and usask have considerably average tuition and it's making them have a lot of applications. I once applied for computer engineering in the schools and I was also rejected.

My advise is that you apply to schools with a little bit higher than average tuition fees and apply early.

If I may ask, Wch engineering course are you applying to?

Mechanical engineering. But my last pre-qualification form to university of saskatchewan I changed to biological engineering due to reject twice by mech. And because of my interest in biofuels.

University of newbrunswick : reject twice
University of saskatchewan: reject twice at pre-application form level.
Queen's university kingston: no spot for me
Saskatchewan again: no response on pre-qualification form (changed department)

Please I need advise on schools that have high acceptance rate. And now January start has been taken away again..

I need heads up please.
