Go back to my first post - I didn't make the remotest inference to any of the ideas you have whined up here. Of course, it boils down to the same thing - that you're seeking a back door entrance from one particular case to blow it to "others", thank you and well done! No, I am not. It sounds like you are putting words into my mouth. My stance is, we should look deeper and investigate not only our local pastors but church elders too. They prolong our stay in churches day by day to forestall any "funny" idea of looking deeper in the affairs of our coffers. In Nigeria, pastors/ministers are untouchable, people like to look unto them as icons and will scarcely muster any courage to ask questions even when what he/she is doing is glaring. If we criticize our corrupt govt officials, mayors and kings, why not pastors and imams? Afterall, those govt offficials are ordained by God too. |
@pilgrim, I am not here to argue with you because you are hell bent on derailing the real premise of the argument. What you accused me of is an assumption and not a fact because you do not know my relationship with RCCG or any other church. The truth is that I am scarcely attached emotionally to any church or pastor like many of you do and it affords me the opportunity to see through my rims. The other fellow asked me whether it's my money and i can as well shut up, here you are accusing me of painting RCCg black when all I said was their pastor stole and if we look deeper, there will be others. I don't do church politics especially after our Nigerian pastor in our local church here touched my sisters breast 2x in our own house. My question to you remains, what has the long thesis and how zachaeus climbed the sycamore tree got to do with the pastor stealing tithes? It's a lot of who shot john to me. I am too old to be hoodwinked. So, get lost! |
yes jare. Why do married man like chasing other women? The truth is that most of these women they chase are underaged girls that are helpless. I don't blame you, that was the famous Adama's excuse when God asked him why he sinned, "Eve made me do it". Most men till this day always want to point fingers at women for their evils. How can you say that women make men to practice polygamy? what about those men that do not do it? don't they also have eyes? The evil that men do lives unto them. |
if i make the mistake of posting my picture, the lady's more satisfied clients ( area fathers) will send area boys after me. . .chiseled frame? do you know what is 6 pack? or are you not a zero pack groany old man? Sometimes i get mad at those researchers that came up with viagra because minus that, half men like you would've said bye bye to sex at 25 and that would mean an automatic bye bye to polygamy. You need serious help in a mental hospital. |

That any pastor is accused of stealing tithes or other financial malpractices does not therefore mean that the whole Church should come under the allegation. There are many people in highly respected positions today that have been accused of all sorts - within Nigeria and in other places. Christ Embassy (Believers LoveWorld) has weathered its own stormy episode and the gist has been discussed on this Forum as well. Yep, Benny Hinn's saga was another episode discussed on this Forum as well. Thousands more happen around the world which have not been discussed yet on the Forum. But do these allegations of these individuals adversely affect the whole?Who is accusing the whole church? The story was RCCG pastor stole church tithe and he/she replied with prayer points. What has prayer points gotta do with the story? And now you came back with a thesis and probable defence strategy. Sweeping your problems under the rug will not make them go away. The truth is that most of these ministers and pastors use your head in the name of bible. Take it or leave it unless you are a religious LovePeddler. Stop all these "oh my pastor" and "oh my church" moves for it's no less than idolatory. Again, although what you said is irrelevant here, I hope you use that yardstick to measure everything you say here ex, catholics and voodoo worship with their pope, catholics and this and that? I am glad you even accepted that your own house is not as perfect as most of you folks make them to be. |
Ah-ah! You no for cuss big bross like that now? Take it easy please. No, na he start to yab funmilayo. OYB means Ordinary Yeye Buffon. |
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!Lol, make una no mind that one minute man wey dey find second wife when he is yet to satisfy the first one in bed with his toy Instruments. Thank God for viagra. |
By OybWhatever! I know that am not far from the truth. You've been making so much noise about this your picture that can never come into play. What are you waiting for? to give birth so that your stomach will come down a little bit? I thought you do hold them down with girdles you buy from Tejuosho? Get real, mr toilet engineer because you are rather a nuisance to women. The best shot you can give to mankind is not to marry another wife so that you won't reproduce more of your replicas that will mature into adulthood with underdeveloped 3 inch weenies. Why should I be interested in your uncircumcised bacteria brooding 3 inch penis? Stop taking those enhancement drugs for they dont help, just stay away from more women. |

NDLEA arrests undergraduate with 13.5kg of cocaine By Wole Shadare [s]DESCRIBED as the single largest drug seizure this year[/s], a Nigerian undergraduate, Adebowale Adeleke, 31 years, studying in the United States (US.) was on Tuesday arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) with 13.5 kilogrammes of coca The arrest, according to the NDLEA Spokesman, Ofoyeju Mitchel, took place at the departure hall of the airport during screening of passengers on British Airways flight to London. The estimated street value of the drug, which he carefully packaged in chocolate wrappers, according to him "is N33,750,000". Reacting to the arrest, Chairman of the NDLEA, Ahmadu Giade, said that recent arrests recorded across the country, particularly at the airports, vividly demonstrate the agency's determination to make 2008 a drug-free year. He said: "We have started on a very positive note and unless drug traffickers quit the obnoxious trade, we shall continue to apprehend them. We have successfully ridiculed their tricks by our superior trade craft and intelligence network". The NDLEA boss noted that "this is a very special case because if not for the arrest, the parents would not have known what their son is doing abroad besides his studies". He urged parents to be vigilant and monitor their children and wards carefully and directed that the case be investigated. According to him: "This is the single largest seizure made since January 1, 2008. The suspect, Adebowale Adeleke, of No. 55 Sumonu Street, Ogba, Lagos and No. 648 Judges Station Road, Maryland, US., was to travel on British Airways flight to London when he was caught with the suspected substances that tested positive for cocaine weighing 13.5 kilogrammes. His passport and ticket numbers are A35823 39A and 12524472715-75. http://odili.net/news/source/2008/jan/31/21.html |
Lol at watery beans. You want him to die from runny stomach? I don't subscribe to torture, but he should do restitution. Most of these pastors should be thoroughly investigated. The problem with we Nigerian christians is that we are too afraid to question or even suspect a man of God and that gave them the immunity to do whatever they want. You may ask yourself why many televangelists went haywire when the American congress was considering investigating them for tax fraud. [s]What happened to the pastor/s that duped Benny Hinn $4m and painted Nigerians in the diaspora black because it was on CNN,FOx etc[/s]. This pastor/s still flaunt their love-vendor suits in Naija while searching for another American mugu to dupe. Many come to local American churches, ask for money to aid African children, build churches and schools them , collect a huge amount and vanish in Nigeria with a Rolls royce and a private jet. Shall we continue to make excuses for these wolves in sheeps clothings? Lots of catholic priests were indicted in America for sex related offences, followed by some pentecostal preachers for homosexuality, do you think that things like that cannot be seen in our local churches in Naija? |
By mendaxA wife is not a commodity or housegirl that you command around as you wish. Any man that is a real man will first of all think about his wife's emotions and go through the difficult times with her afterall marriage is for better for worse and they are in "for worse" in that period. Finally, a healthy marriage is where the couple have an equal or near equal contribution and the decison shouldn't be left for the man alone. I believe the man should be the head but that does not mean he should treat the woman like his slave. A wife should be able to make 50% of the decisions in her home as long as her acts are right. |
I will leave.Thank you sister for knocking some sense into that grumpy ,obese, bald headed, Hot old short man's head. I don't know who lied to him and told him that he's God's gift to women. Oyb is some work and I think that only Jesus can deliver him from the veil the devil has over his eyes. |
I was their tithes and not yours. Are you happy to hear that news or you feel bad? Those Prayer Points are also meant to project you to a better thing than this. Time is wisdomWho is theirs? do you know if my contribution is there? Even if it's theirs, does that justify a pastor stealing them? If they don't care that much, why are they pressing charges? why don't they let him go scot free? . Prayer points are good but that does not mean that if Yaradua is busy stealing our money, we'll be engrossed in prayer points than asking him questions. You cannot solve the ills in our society by covering them with a blanket. [s]For you shall know the truth and only the truth shall set you free--john 8:32.[/s] |
@dafidixone, what has this prayer got to do with the fact that their pastor stole their tithes? I am sure that if you investigate more, there will be other pastors that do the same. Can we Nigerians be objective for once and desist from another using religion to blindfold us. Somebody is stealing from you and you are quoting prayer points. |

Redeemed Church pastor docked over N5.7m tithe By Wale Igbintade eporter, Lagos A Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Joseph Itegbe, was on Tuesday arraigned at Tapa Magistrate’s Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing N5.7 million tithe belonging to the church. Police prosecutor, S. Malo, said between January 2006 and January 2007 Itegbe conspired with others (now at large) to steal a First Bank of Nigeria draft valued N2,360,000 being tithe of church members in The Master Place Province 8, in Gbagada, Lagos. He told the court that Itegbe stole another First Bank draft valued N3,200,00 as well as a cheque worth N130,000. Itegbe also allegedly forged a letter purportedly written by the church to the bank manager. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges, and was granted bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum. Magistrate Osho Adebiyi adjourned the matter till February 25. In another case, Magistrate J.O. Awope of Tapa Magistrate’s Court remanded three suspected pipeline vandals in prison custody. The accused persons were said to have on December 24 last year in Alakija, Lagos conspired to commit felony, to wit: malicious breaking of the pipeline of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in the area. Prosecution counsel, Justin Enang, said this contravenes Section 3(7)(a) of the Special Tribunal (Miscellaneous) Act, 2004; punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code. http://odili.net/news/source/2008/jan/30/712.html |
oybYou surely do need Jesus! The only solution to your problems now is Jesus because they are beyond human comprehension. You care to get born again, brother? |
by hafeesFYI: Jesus advocated one man one wife when he decreed that anybody who lives his/her spouse for another is guilty of adultery and anybody that married a divorced/estranged spouse is guilty of similar sin. Jesus only granted divorce on the conditions of cheating and desertion only and not all these reasons while people are divorcing these days. Even on the issue of cheating, you cannot divorce your husband or wife for that if you are guilty of the same sin. |

Posted By Oyb,I am so also , as a muslim, i glorify Allah for his blessings by thanking Him, not by referring to myself as 'jedi engineer' 'mr sixpack' , 'big boy' , 'CAD guru' 'baba fine boy' or anything else. referring to myself in such a manner has the stink of hubris, or even better self glorification.Self glorification? what if you call yourself a "sorry computer technician", what will that be? self mortification? reservations, who are you kidding? how about outright hatred? you can bet she seethes inwardly whenever she is in the presence of muslims.don't you know nairaland is the only way so many christian bigots can bleed off their hatred of Islam, Muslims, Muhammed, and Allah. without nairaland some people would have run mad along time ago,There you go again, I have no business with Islam/moslems and will not hate them as Christ taught me. I only do not agree with Islam, isn't that my fundamental right? I will never marry a moslem by my own choice just like you may never agree with christianity at your RISK. You and your Islamic faithfuls can worship muhammed at will, it's not my business as long as you throw the bombs and stones at yourselves whenever you feel like. Do not visit me with matchet, bombs or any form of agression because I do not agree with your religion because I will never do the same to you or is Islam no more a |
Why can't women turn a drill? They do that in the US. |
By eclairsSome women feel they are incomplete without a man in their life irrespective of what they have achieved and that's why they are everready to reduce their standards as long as it will make them answer mrs. Funny enough, men usually do not feel that way. Isn't that a very wrong notion? |
lol, i don't have any such problems but that doesnt mean we should be afraid to discuss issues concerning us. I don't see where equality comes in a question that deals with complete and complement. |
Do you believe that men and women complete or complement each other in relationships/marriage? Lol, some of us believe that we are not complete without a man or vice versa. Why? |
