By 4himIf these factors get men rolling, why are some of them still scared of marriage? Don't they have these factors going for them? |
By logicalThere is no racism or prejudice here, christians are just following the guidelines handed down to them by christ their lord and saviour or is it now a crime to have a choice? Muslims don't eat pork while christians do; have you heard any christian before trying to force them to eat pork? it's their choice, their religious obligation and so on and we have no business with that. in the same vein, christians are expected to marry fellow xtians, why is it now prejudice? how? . If this wasn't an online discussion, you and your religious faithfuls would've used dagger or bomb to force us to intermarry with you. |
Funmi, where does this your aunt live?Dallas |

By salaamFirst, am not single and even if i am single, I'll rather remain so than be a second wife or cutting corners like you suggested. It's only women that are capable of staying in polygamous marriages that likes to cut corners. I am too hot to be the second best. Next? |
I don't know what is becoming of most Naija men. Is it not the other day that a lagos state lawmaker beat a pregnant woman to stupor? |
Me!? - a house wifeWhat if condition permits that? may be you married Hakeem Olajuwon and his status will not allow you to go and seek employment, what will you do? or you had to move to France so your kids can go to school while your husband is busy chasing money up and down around the world. You never can tell. |
@logical, what do you mean? the 10 commandments are still valid, ain't they? |
By joshjoshThank you Josh. I weep for my aunt because she does not know what she is entering. She told me that as long as they love each other, every other thing is secondary. I am yet to see the praises that will be in her mouth when her husband comes back with a second wife. My greatest concern is her kids, will they be worshipping christ and mohammed at the same time? That is hypocrisy and God commands us in the 10 commandments to worship no other God beside him. Marriage cannot come between me and my God. |
How do we stop the foreigners that claim they are Nigerians when caught? Why do they do that in the first place because it'll not set them off the hook? I agree with you that economic hardship should not be the reason to steal but I think it's the precuirsor to this problem. The westerners still top the list in 419 but chose to report Nigerias own through the media, why? I think the Nigerian youths have lost hope and that is a very big problem because this generation is lying to waste and slowly becoming unproductive. It's like looting the national treasury, it was when IBB started looting enmasse that the fiesta started. Umaru Dikko stole nearly nothing and the whole country was agag before IBB and his cronies showed us how to steal. Thats why people like Buhari are not super rich even after ruling Nigeria. The whole decay started from IBB. Also make sure you know exactly what your friend or family member is doing before you visit him in UK or US or you may end up in one day cell. |
Make i ask 1 q:have u suffered such recently?like your boyfriend says u too fat or something?Lol, I knew this question will come and the answer is no! I am not damn hot in theory. Question: What is the factor that makes you guys desire to marry? Do you feel it or do you just do it because your peers are doing it or is it because you want to raise a family? |
Men to me has no definite definition because of their continous changing characteristics. The are not stable under normal temperature and atmospheric pressure and cannot be seen in the periodic table. They are also highly inflammable. Question: Ok, you guys are quick to call us old mama whenever we turn 30 or fat when we can still pass for average; Don't you know you guys don't look as hot as you were in your 20's? I mean, the bald head, the belle, the groans and the heavily reduced bed power, should I continue? Can we get some form of concession from you men and can you also look at yourself before judging her please? [s] Kudos to good non polygamous dads and men that love their wife's dearly, i throway salute.[/s] |
Ladies, Define men? ![]() what do you think about them? ![]() Ask them any question you wish here? ![]() I'll start |
@Big B1, I think it's very wrong of you to point fingers at a particular ethnic group. I don't exactly blame you because for some doggone reason, we are meant to believe that but if you go to UK, I think more yorubas are involved in advanced fee fraud than ibos. We may give an excuse for that one because of the higher number of yorubas in UK but the ibos dwell a lot in the US and possibily more than the yorubas but the yorubas still top the list of fraudsters here. May be the ibos top the list in Nigeria or any other place but they don't control that evil business here. About the hausas, i honestly cannot say because they have enough access to our oil money more than the southerners but the bottom line is that 419 is killing all of us. Those that live in Naija are not feeling it so much like us, they just hear this and that on TV but when you step outside the shores of Nigeria, you'll know what fraud has done to us. Most Ghananians and Camerounians are into that business now but funny enough, they'll be the first to say they are from Nigeria when caught. On the recent list I saw in the paper last week, i saw one Appiah Kwame who claims to be Nigerian; Is that not a Ghananian name? I also saw where you categorized Nigeria into ibo, hausa and Yoruba, that is very wrong because although those three are the single largest ethnic groups, others like Ibibio, Efik, Fulani, urhobo etc should be recognised as an entity that make up Nigeria. I see folks refer to the three groups alone and wonder whether they think others are there just to restore righteousness. 419 in Nigeria knows no bounds now, it's a debilitating disease eating Nigeria and I think we may curb it by improving the economy so that these boys will get jobs. We stand to solve nothing by trying to figure out which ethnic group stands tall in 419 for all of them have sinned and come short of the glory. If you really wanna verify what am saying, call any of your friends living in LA, Houston,NY or MD and ask him which tribe gets busted mostly in every sort of financial crime in America. Your brothers may nopt be what you really think they are. |
you could say the same for skin color or tribe. The fact is that compatibility is a huge part of marriage . . . most men wont marry a woman who is not educationally on par with them, why shld religion be any different?Good. |
Rubbish TalkDon't mind him/her. He/she is drawing an inference from a mistake made by one person who evidently lived in the US and may have learnt his drug pushing habits from Americans. |
It's good not to support these disgraceful acts Yorubas are committing which are causing the wrong perceptions about Nigerians. It seems you have another agenda here and we are not on the same page. I am yoruba and none of my family members meddles with drugs even if it's marijuana. Your perception is very wrong because you do not have stats to prove it. Because most yorubas are caught at the murtala mohammed airport that has the best security in Nigeria does not mean that PH, Abuja and kano international airports does not have drug peddlers. I repeat, there are lots of drug peddlers among those that travel for pilgrimage in Nigeria and yorubas are not the dominant population for Hajj. Secondly, I do not believe that the name Yoruba, hausa or ibo is responsible for anything, it's a personal decision by those that perpetuate such acts. Growing up, I learnt from fellow yoruba folks that Ijebus are the culprits in every evil in yoruba land but that God I know better now for they kept saying it even when ooni's family got mixed up in drug rap. Is he or his family Ijebu? Stop spoiling our name abeg because we still have handsome and God fearing brothers in my clan. Why are you so bitter about us, did a yoruba man/woman break your heart? |
EFCC withdraws money laundering charges against Dariye Written by Ise-Oluwa Ige & Innocent Anaba Friday, February 1, 2008 THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday withdrew the 14-count charge of money-laundering preferred against the immediate past Governor of Plateau State, Chief Joshua Dariye, at a Federal High Court, Abuja. The anti-graft agency gave no reason for the action. Justice Babs Kuewumi, consequently struck out the charges, since the accused ex-governor did not object to the EFCC’s request. Chief Dariye was on July 16, 2007 arraigned before the same court on a 14-count charge of money-laundering. He was alleged to have laundered over N750 million. Most of the diversions were allegedly made from the state’s share of the Ecological Fund. Why case was withdrawn —EFCC But EFCC spoke with newsmen yesterday on why the case was withdrawn against Dariye moments after the court rose. According to the commission’s counsel, Mr Adebisi Adeniyi, who announced the withdrawal of the charge against Dariye in court, the position of the commission was informed by the need for the prosecution to concentrate on a separate charge preferred against Dariye at the Abuja High Court sitting at Gudu. “We have since realised that we will use the same set of documents and witnesses to prosecute the two cases. We feel it will be neater and tidier to withdraw one so as to concentrate on the other. We have agreed to withdraw the one here because the charge preferred against the accused person before the Abuja High Court is more comprehensive than the one filed here. In fact, the one before the Abuja High Court accommodates all that is here,” he said. Dariye hails EFCC Lead counsel to Dariye, Chief Pius Akubo (SAN), hailed the decision by the EFCC to withdraw the charge against his client. He said he had severally maintained that the two suits maintained against Dariye touching on the same subject-matter and offence constituted an abuse of court process. “I can say today that the promise by this government to live by strict adherence to the rule of law is paying off gradually. If the case had not been withdrawn, we would have been subjected to double jeopardy. We commend the EFCC for the bold step it has taken,” Akubo said. Dariye had said there was no truth in the allegations levelled at him and government had asked for a date to open its case against him. Some of the charges against Dariye were: That you Joshua Chibi Dariye in Abuja did transfer N180 million belonging to the Plateau State Government to buy property in London, an act punishable under section 14 (b) of the money laundering (prohibition) act of 2004". That you Joshua Chibi Dariye did transfered N5 million from the All States Trust Bank for the purchase of the landed property. Dariye had also petitioned President Umaru Yar’Adua over alleged short-fall in the money returned to the Federal Government by the British authorities from the money he allegedly looted. He had also alleged in the petition that the British government’s return to Nigeria of N29.3 million allegedly seized from him was under-declared to the tune of N741 million Dariye accused the London Metropolitan Police and the EFCC lawyers, Kendal Freeman Solicitors, London, of misappropriating the recovered loot. The British government had presented two cheques worth N29.3 million to the Nigerian government as part of the loot money recovered from Dariye.Dariye in the petition dated September 28, 2007 and entitled “Petition Against the Unlawful Appropriation of My Assets,” alleged that the sum of N29.3 million handed over to the Federal Government was far less than what was seized from him in London. He asked President Yar’Adua to order investigation into the matter in the sprit of the rule of law and due process agenda of his administration. He had said: “I write this humble petition to Your Excellency, therefore, to put the facts before you concerning the unlawful methods that have been utilised in the United Kingdom in order to seize assets in the total value of over £2,961,560.00 (two million, nine hundred and sixty-one thousand pounds sterling) which is the equivalent of N770,056.000. 00 (seven hundred and seventy million, fifty six thousand naira) now apparently misappropriated and dissipated by the EFCC, its agent, the London Metropolitan Police or its lawyers, Kendal Freeman Solicitors London, if all that is now being handed over is a mere N29.3 million.” |
Quite interesting, how religion can create discrimination inside the heart of those that follows its path. SadThis is not about religion, it's the etiquette in the religion. I cannot marry a buddhist, shinto, moslem, ifa worshipper etc because I pray through Jesus while they pray through cows or mohammed. How will that work out in a marriage where I believe in the deity of christ but my husband believes that christ is a mere prophet like mohammed? I believe in group family prayers and a home where there are two principal religions will always be in a shambles. |

boring, full of sht, diseases, murder, rape, homos, lies, wars and famine. |
by fawwwybDon't mind the yeye man, he claims his father is from carribean and he is more carribean than naija and does not know why they say he's naija because his mum is from naija. |
hi pips have you noticed that most yoruba staunch muslimms are kind of not good looking.Breheehe, how will they look good when they walk around with a brown goatee while looking for whom to [b]Indeed, Islam is peaceful; Allah Akbar! |
Nonsense, these days science is less dogmatic than it was in the past. There are now peer-reviews for many proposals; theories now need to be falsifiable (or, at the very least, potentially falsifiable), and theories are continually updated or discarded with new discoveries.Agreed, like the gap theory. |

Cocaine Record,Please shut up, lots of Europeans especially the Turks and Italians lead the drug trade. Myyoruba brothers are at the bottom of the list. I am not supporting what they are doing either way but it's gross to claim we yorubas top the list in the drug trade, may be in west africa but not even in the whole Africa. Besides, hausas do a lot of trafficking but they are rarely nabbed because they use hajj and Islam to cover their tracks coupled with the fact that they hold power in Nigeria also some of the ibos and Edos have been caught recently. Get lost please. |
It is for a reason that Christ warns us not to be unequally yoked in marriage. So, it's morally wrong for a christian to marry a non christian? What about those that switch faith? What if he/she comes home one day and tell you he/she is considering Islam as a new religion? divorce? I'll rather die than marry a moslem sha. |
Is it worth it to compromise your belief because of love?. I freaked out when my aunt told me this evening that she's getting married come april to a muslim man. Is it theologically right for a good christian? Can you as a christian marry a man or woman that practices another religion even if he/she will allow you to keep your own religion? Remember that the bible said that 'a family that prays together stays together'. How will such a family work if they cannot pray together? besides, what religion will the children that will come after follow? |
I appreciate, accept my apologies too. |
