I recent came across new info to print out one's US travel history( Esp for those that go to the US frequently). Print from i94 website.
Photocopy previous visa pages uk, us, schengen, SA, China etc

The last one I didn't do but a family friend did sha. He did a bank draft of 2500$, made a photocopy of it and added it to the application ( guess it was to show he had money for the trip but I think bank statement should suffice).

I don't think there's a set duration. They give what they want depending. For example I've seen people being given 2 weeks, 1 year, 6 months, I got 3 years, a family friend got 4 years so it depends.

So is it really conference that's she coming for or sumthing else ?

Canada visa now is 4 yrs. They would give u the amount of time that your passport have before it expires. And I guess they don't want ppl coming every time. They ain't after money like ndi US nd UK. Even canadian passports now have option of 10 yrs if you don't want 5 yrs so most ppl go for the 10 yrs

Ur u KY u have family members in Manitoba. Just tell them to ask their family doctor to refer them.to a gynecologist and they get all the info u need

My friends sister came from Naija to give birth in Winnipeg. Though she's a citizen but I can ask her sis to get the info of the doctor from her. That's as far as I will do . Not soon now I get question about accommodation. The lady sis staying at her mother's house

The amount of emails I get on a daily basis ehh from this thread is alarming. Plz post ur questions here so everyone will benefit . U can also do ur own research on Google or contact family members, friends or someone who had given birth in Canada.

If u r not considering having a baby in TORONTO for instance, I really can't help anyone with doctor or hospital .

Hospital bill depends on the hospital and dr and where u r heading to. Rent also depends on where and how many bedroom. So be specific to be able to answer ur question

Response from canadian embassy took 3 months; i hadnt envisaged it taking that long, so now i have about 3 days to plan a trip. I currently have about 8k USD; and would be staying with my sister. I just need some advise ASAP.....i dont want to risk the airline turning me back (although Delta airlines just says i should get a doctor's report which i can) or getting turned back at immigration in Canada..

That's how one month after we applied for our visiting visa, we got the letter of correspondence that we didn't get our visas.

Reasons on both our rejection letters:
- History
- Family ties in canada and home country

Now I'm confused cos I have been to canada 3 times on my last visa. All my siblings live there, 2 have PRs while one is on a work permit. The only difference between my old application and now is that I'm now married, though I havent changed my name yet on my passport.

I used one of them's details and invitation letter.

We are going to reapply, asides all the scanned copies of my sibling's PRs and passport what else do I need to show them as evidence of family ties in canada and home country?

We also submitted all my bank statements and investment slips, would be adding that of hubby too this time.

We used the online application method, should we consider the paper application?

Any help will be appreciated.

I feel you, it's always a frustrating experience dealing with them. But if you have an insider there, its easier. Last time I was there, there was a big drama, one guy actually accused them openly of taking bribes. And there were people that came even from Alberta hoping to go back home same day, it was a total mess. But I hear they're getting better now though.

When I went for my son's own ehh, it was something else. I went there in person for 3 days straight. They were asking for so many things that wasn't in the website nd I felt beating up someone. The beat is to have an insider there and u r good to go

[color=#000099]Getting a Naija passport for a new-born baby is very tedious and time consuming, it's much easier and faster to just show the embassy the new mummy's Naija passport and they can issue the new baby a TC right away. But if the new mummy and baby are willing to stay back in Canada for a while, I guess they can get one. And yes, Nigerian embassy is in Ottawa.

Dunno how it works in the US but the child does not pay when renewing his or her first issued passport.

That 24 hrs issuing of Canadian passport is available if you go in.person as my family friend did so plus she got the sons birth certificate within 5 days

No, the embassy is in Ottawa nd from Toronto to Ottawa is about 5 hrs drive. I now heard some embassy officials comes once or twice to Toronto for services

You can also get same day if you go early but from Toronto that's 5 hrs drive. When I had my son, I got his own the same day cuz i went there.

I guess getting Naija passport in Canada takes awhile. There is a same-day service in the US. All you need do is go early.
