We will be here for about 5 yrs nd move back to naija permanentlyI don't regret marrying him one bit. Did u see a pic of.my daughter I attached earlier? babyosisi: |
Hahaha. Time really do flies ooo. Now to my story. While in the university, apart from lectures and hanging out with friends especially during summer, I come on NL to pass out time and answer questions especially in Education and Travel. In the course of this hobby of mine, I met a friend here and we just became friends and briefly saw him when I went to Nigeria for Xmas hols. We remained friends and he was on clutches and jobless. I spent a lot of time online chatting with him and a lot of money making phone calls. He had potentials because he was on clutches and in pain yet looking for a job because where he was working before didn't want to take him back. At a point, because of slow Internet service in cafes at that time, I asked him if it's OK for him to send me his CV and details of his email and he did. I re did his CV and started helping him to apply for jobs since my Internet service was fast. I would apply and call him to tell him the places I applied and what position incase he gets call from them. He got called for test and interviews for some but didn't get the job and I would always tell him not to worry that he will get. In his own part, he stopped telling me when he has interview so I don't get to tell him not to worry that he will get the job. One faithful day in 2009, he called and was so excited and I could hear noise from the background and all he could say was that I should marry him and we will get married that same year. Mine you, this was in July and we are both jobless as I was doing my 2nd degree at that time. I.told him how can two jobless people get married? He laughed ehh and then told me he has gotten a job and I now came to understand that it's with a very good company, a multinational at that. As usual I visited that year for Xmas and he proposed and the following year we got married as it was the same year I graduated. Not up to 4 months after out wedding, he bought me a car. Mind you even his parents had people they wanted him to marry but he said it must be me because I stood by him when he had nothing and we're where these girls then. On my own part, my friends were telling me how can I be dating a jobless man and a man in clutches when I had wealthy suitors from here and some from she'll and chevron etc from naija. I saw the potential in him even with his clutches and I knew he would make me happy now matter how much he is making. I am happy because after everything, he appreciated it and shows it. He is a good man, ambitious and goal oriented. We are happily married with two lovely children, both born in Canada . Ladies if you see someone that has potential please stick with him.and encourage him babyosisi: |

I was a virgin too when I got married 4 yrs ago. Infact, on my wedding day, my period started and I was so happy and wish it would last till God knows when lol. When we got home and it has stopped, once it's 8pm, off I ran to go and sleep lol. After 1 week, I had ran to go.nd sleep and he followed me and said it is going to happen today and he has been doing research too and talking to doctor friends. It happened that night and I don't think it was painful but it was only because I positioned my mind that it would be because of the stories I read and heard. Infact, when it happened, I didn't know and I told him since we started already, he better get it done now cuz if he doesn't, I won't go ahead with it again. He laughed and said its now open. That was it for that night den the following day, slowly, he entered nd after 5 entries, we are good to go and even the night I got disvirigned, I got preggy ![]() Do a lot of fore play, put lubricant and enter slowly and above all, let her relax and not think of it been painful. Because of this my experience, when I was preggy, I refused reading anybody relating to labour and all and I was fine. Good luck heavyg: |
Your story reminded me of mine. Will share my story tomorrow Evina: |
Apply via online nd u want be asked if by are preggy. Birth certificate comes out within 1 week nd passport can come within a week or less if u pay more for express. If you are not coming with ur hubby, he will need to go to a Canadian consulate to sign sumthing there so they will make sure he's the dad or will he be coming along. At least from 5 weeks, the baby can go dudet: |
I apply first and get visa. Make sure to apply via online. Good luck chijev: |
I normally wouldn't respond to stuff like this. We do not know the fundamental of this MIL nd DIL problem because I do not see why a MIL should slap her DIL simply because she refused giving her pic. It could be a pill up of grievances and she got an opportunity wen her son left to deal with the DIL. Besides how come the 2 adults that came with MIL didn't jump in to save the day? Solution: MIL would have awaited for the son to come back and then ask him directly for the pic The Daughter inlaw shouldn't have slapped back but then her own grievances has been adding up as well. Solution: she would have walked out on her or lock herself inside the room until her hubby comes back. This does not give them the right to say he should divorce her. The man should not allow his family to dictact what happens in his life. In general, MILS should stop doing things to their DILs what they won't what to be done to their own daughters in their husbands house. DIL should go and apologize to her MIL and MIL Should find a place to forgive her and also apologize for slapping her. They should find a way to talk about what's paining them and find a way to reconcil and start having a good relationship. |

[ Ooo nwannem, ur request accepted quote author=Phema post=31995669]Hostepper nwannem, biko can I be your "family friend"? Please, don't say no ![]() Be sure to get a message from moi when I'm ready. Thanks again.
|
Yes it should and since you have paying cash, u can also bargain. Dr charged her 1500 initially as that's wat she deposited but after delivery, Dr told her that she now charged her 750 so she should come and take her balance when she's less in pain. At least that one go be enough to get the baby's naija and Canadian passports and birth certificates Phema: |
My family friend them, they budgeted 10k thinking Canada will be more expensive. I told them to take 5k cash and then hold their cards...so she and the hubby had 10k cash in total. They were asked at the Toronto airport and they said how much they have and have card too incase. The officer didn't even ask to see it cuz they were truthful with their intention right from the start. I secured them a 1 furnished bedroom for 3 months at about 800 dollars per month and also got my family Dr to secure an apt with them cuz u get assigned a gyne via a family Dr. I am willing to help to be the best of ability as long as the person is truthful. I don't want to spoil my name oooo Phema: |
It doesn't matter. My family friend was already preggy when she applied but she did online application and there was nowhere they asked if she's preggy or not so she didn't indicate. She wasn't called for interview either and was given 4 yrs visa. Now to the info everyone is itching to hear this is not MHIS Cuz Canadian system is different since our health care is free. Lemme explain. So for her, 1. Dr fee was 750 2. Hospital was 2500 per day and she stayed just a day nd it's CS Ooo 3. Anesthesia..640 Total is 3890 CAD The baby paid nothing because immediately he was born, he's Canadian so his health card which was given immediately at the hospital made it free. All the specialist that came to check him like eye, hearing etc was free. So this is the part that in US that adds up cuz baby have to pay. Phema: |
[ It is not a must for Canada to write but for US yes. For Canada, as long as you are truthful, they will let you in. People come and lie and they get sent back quote author=Nita2013 post=31975632]My dear I called her and she said same thing Hotpepper said that I av to be there first. Yes that's what I was trying to say previously that it's safer to get d vis b4 getting pregnant. My boss said she didn't write to d embassy though. That she just went in like that at 36weeks and cos her tummy is usually small, they didn't notice but if they had noticed she wud av told them. I m waitin to see anyone that has sent d letter of intent to d embassy and their response. I sure kno US is more straight forward with things like this.
|
OK. Get visa first. My family friend is home now. Her total bill is not up to 4000 CAD dollars and it's CS ooo so Vaginal delivery will be a lot cheaper. U can ask me why it's cheap and I will explain ![]() Phema: |
[ They are all willing too but u have to be inside first. Do u have a visa ? quote author=Phema post=31939570] 7000 Canadian Dollars? Not bad at all. Thanks alot for helping out. Got any contacts? Hospitals? Dr's? Willing to take on non-resident patients?
|
