EducationRe: Okonjo-iweala: ASUU Distributes Insulting Pamphlets About Me In Mosques by howfarwhatagwan: 3:24pm On Oct 22, 2013
Mrs Okonjo-Iweala as you speak do you have any child enrolled in any Nigerian university? You guys continue to live extravagant lives while Nigerians suffer. I wonder how you guys are even able to face your counterparts from other countries especially those countries you are a million times richer than. You and your colleagues can start by giving up all the unnecessary allowances and benefits you currently enjoy I'm sure it will go a long way.

I don't blame you guys I blame us ( the masses) who have refused to rise up and boot all of you out of office. Stop seeking for sympathy and do your job and stop trying to turn this matter into a religious or political matter because it is not. Strike or no strike we all know the state of our universities.
EducationRe: Effect Of This ASUU Strike On Students And Lecturers by howfarwhatagwan: 3:09pm On Oct 22, 2013
I am really sad that Nigerians can never unite to fight a cause. Now this is a battle that should be fought by every Nigerian but NO the fight has been left to ASUU and the poor Nigerian students. Did we have to wait until ASUU embarked on a four months strike as a nation to realize that our education system is almost dead? How long will this injustice and wickedness continue in our nation? The politicians, government officials and rich will continue to send their kids to schools abroad and pay ridiculous amounts of money and not give a hoot about what goes on in the education system in Nigeria while those that cannot afford this luxury will continue to send their kids to Nigerian schools. Now the question is.... that senator, house of Rep or Governor etc whose child is in a school abroad will they be there if their father or Mother was not a senator, minister etc? and the answer is NO they will not be there. So dear Nigerians rise up and fight if we leave this fight to ASUU and students you know that at the end the results will most likely be the same as in the past. Our government officials will continue to receive their outrageous allowances and benefits while the nation continues to decay why can't they make the sacrifice for once? Something has got to give Nigerians...we need to rise up and make demands we gave them the mandate and not the other way round...
Music/RadioRe: Skelewu Video By Sesan Or Moe Musa: Which Do You Prefer by howfarwhatagwan: 2:50pm On Oct 22, 2013
For me the instructional video is even better than the two but if I must choose then I give it to Moe Musa simply because I cannot watch Sesan''s video my eyes really hurt with the light effects and this is the third song I love that Sesan has made it absolutely impossible for me to watch the video.

Omo baba Olowo you shouldn't have made these videos the instructional video still carries the day.
Music/RadioRe: Davido - Skelewu (directed By Moe Musa) by howfarwhatagwan: 12:23pm On Oct 22, 2013
OBO why are you falling our hand now? You rushed to UK to shoot this video I thought ok this must be the bomb and then now I am disappointed. I still prefer to watch the instructional video. However if I must choose between this video and that directed by Sesan I will choose this one because Sesan own na so so light.
Music/RadioRe: Which Nigerian Musician Has The Best Stage Performance? by howfarwhatagwan: 2:32pm On Oct 19, 2013
Absolutely no one does it better than P square. If there is anyone better I am yet to see. Timaya does a fairly good job too. I love 2 Face as well but he doesn't dance so it becomes boring after sometime... heard Dbanj is the bomb too but I haven't watched him personally so can't say for sure.
Music/RadioRe: Sesan's Official Statement On Leaked Skelewu Video by howfarwhatagwan: 6:36pm On Oct 17, 2013
Well too bad about the controversy but truth be told I will rather watch the instructional video. Sesan your lighting effects are becoming too much you need to take it easy. Videos are meant for people to watch and enjoy and not to keep squinting while watching. Why cant you just shoot a video in day light than in the dark with the lights that keep flashing all over the video. I hope to meet you one day so I can tell you this because I know you won't read this.
Music/RadioRe: Davido Not Satisfied With Skelewu Video, Reshooting It as Fans complains by howfarwhatagwan: 6:27pm On Oct 17, 2013
Omo Baba Olowo focus on the dance that is what this your song is about good that you are re-shooting will rather watch the instructional video than the so-called leaked video very poor concept I must say and then Sesan with his light obsession na wow oh
TravelRe: Pilots Were Arguing Before Agagu's Plane Crashed - Blackbox by howfarwhatagwan: 6:37pm On Oct 11, 2013
I have always said it... if you are a frequent viewer of the plane crash show on discovery channel you will agree that 90% of plane crashes are as a result of human error. Very sad indeed how often as humans do we ignore warning bells?

May their souls rest in peace
PoliticsRe: Comparing Legacies - Obasanjo Vs Goodluck Jonathan by howfarwhatagwan: 4:55pm On Oct 08, 2013
Haha Nigerians when are we going to set ourselves free from the bondage of tribal sentiments? People are willing to die just to defend their own na wow oh I tire for una.

- To be fair let us wait for GEJ to finish his tenure before we start this thread.

- With all sentiments aside I must painfully admit that as things stand right now OBJ looks like a saint when compared to GEJ.

- Yes GEJ has had lots of troubles but how has he managed these issues? OBJ had lots of troubles as well if I remember correctly.

GEJ just a few weeks ago was quoted to have said ''Nigerians are corrupt and he does not want to start mentioning names before he will be attacked'' for me that statement if true is the most absurd and shocking thing I have ever heard a president say and made me wonder what he is really doing on that presidential seat if he does not even know the power he wields.
Music/RadioRe: Ice Prince Ft French Montana - “I Swear” (Video) by howfarwhatagwan: 4:33pm On Oct 08, 2013
Oh thank goodness he didn't use the Aboki beat. In my opinion it's an average song something missing can't place my finger on it the music also sounds like I've heard it before maybe my mind is just playing tricks on me. The video as usual Rubbishhhh this choc city guys you need someone who can do better videos for you. Wondering how the new Jesse Jagz would have done on this song, hmmmm.......

Music/RadioRe: Which Songs/Music Videos Pisses You Off Bigtime? by howfarwhatagwan: 8:55pm On Oct 07, 2013
- Most of the foreign music these days can't even stand them a bit.

- Iyanya is very annoying I must say has some silly song and video where he is putting on a suit in the bathroom and some brainless babe is just shaking foolishly. I detest a lot of his songs.

Infact I've got a long list will summarize

- Ice Prince's Aboki and VIP can't tell the difference is he for real two songs with the same beat?
- D Prince's Take Banana (Je deteste)
- Tu Face's African Queen ( I loveeeeeeee Tu face but I've never liked this song it turns me off don't know why)
- Most of flavour's songs especially shake
- Most of the new hustling Nigerian musician's songs

I love choreography/dance so any music video that has got some real choreography or dance moves I gbadu like mad (just a few of them I must say) and cannot stand any that does not have any real choreography but some silly women just shaking foolishly and believe me there are lots of them.

For me if the dance moves or choreography is great I don't care about the lyrics that much. I think that the moment one understands the different functions or roles that music plays in life you sometimes won't be too turned off with some songs. Music can either heal, build, help you loose yourself, rebuke, get you in the mood etc... just get the right song for the right moment.

Interesting thread I must say we should start same thread with Nigerian actors and actresses
Music/RadioRe: Your Best Music Video Director In Nigeria? by howfarwhatagwan: 4:52pm On Oct 05, 2013
Sesan was good but now he is obsessed with lighting effects making it absolutely impossible for people like me to watch his videos, can't watch Omo no dulling by 2 face and just recently also cannot watch Dbanj's finally the videos are a pain to the eyes because of the effects. Too much of everything is bad please if anyone knows him advise him accordingly.
Music/RadioRe: D'banj - FINALLY [official Video] by howfarwhatagwan: 10:25pm On Oct 03, 2013
Different concept but Sesan please cut down on the lighting effects can't even watch my eyes really hurt na wow oh na so you like light? exactly the same thing you did with 2 face's Omo no dulling video, it's so frustrating when you can't enjoy the video of a song you like. You should have also focused on the dance moves in this finally video it helps a lot in promoting a song or video cos I remember when he danced at the beat fm it was really cool but now in the video can't even see what the dancers are doing.
PoliticsRe: 2015: Why I’m Not Supporting Jonathan- Amaechi…Blasts Uduaghan, Okonjo-iweala by howfarwhatagwan: 12:02pm On Sep 20, 2013
Oh my beloved country I weep these days not only because of the comments I hear from my leaders but also because of the comments from followers. Tribalism and ethnicity will tear us apart how can we say we are one Nigeria when clearly we aren't? Amaechi even if you have your own flaws as well but for daring to rise up and speak I salute, you have spoken well. It is not easy in Nigeria because the bad eggs have outnumbered the good in every sector of Nigeria. I for one will not for any reason whatsoever support GEJ, going forward I will only support whoever I identify has the interest of Nigerians and if there is none then I kiss voting goodbye. I will not be swayed by tribe nor religion.
PoliticsRe: Reasons For Nigeria's U.S DV-Lottery Ban by howfarwhatagwan: 11:38am On Sep 20, 2013
Bravo US. Naija People wake up and fight to make your country what you want it to be. The US did not get to where they are without a fight. Mr Hawkins also move to minimize the frequent and random visits of our politicians and leaders to your country.
TravelRe: Nigeria Ineligible For US DV-2015 by howfarwhatagwan: 11:34pm On Sep 16, 2013
Way to go USA. I have always said it and will say it again these countries are not stupid once they are tired of us they will shut their doors. Nigerians stay there don't fight to make your country what you want it to be continue to run. Good news is we can still rise up and fight, the bad news is all the countries we keep running to are tired of us and will continue to make it more difficult for Nigerians. Oh USA how I wish you would make it more difficult for our Government officials to enter your country.....
FoodRe: Why Do Nigerians Cook Their Stew So Much? by howfarwhatagwan: 11:36am On Sep 11, 2013
You do not have to cook it for so long to ensure it is not bitter there are some ingredients that can be added to mask the bitter taste and for me that is how I was taught to cook stew
FoodRe: Why Do Nigerians Cook Their Stew So Much? by howfarwhatagwan: 11:34am On Sep 11, 2013
anonimi: Why don't you give us the advantage of over-boiled, over-fried VEGETABLES such as tomatoes, onion, pepper etc.
We dey wait the outcome of the

- "proximate analysis" accompanied by
- the "very complex matrix" taking into consideration
- the "bioavailability" and "bio-accessibility"

Hope we will not have to wait too long for you to back up these your big big vocabulary trying to justify OVERCOOKING vegetables.
Most Nigerians have never understood food science and I'm not surprised but let me explain something to you foods are majorly made up of Water, carbohydrates, proteins and lipids. Now these nutrients are building blocks of molecules- example carbohydrate- complex starch molecules or simple sugars, Proteins- amino acids, lipids-fatty acids usually the estimated quantity of these nutrients available to us is before the food is eaten, there is no information about the quantity that is available for physiological function after absorption in the gastrointestinal tract i.e after eating (concept of bioavailability) nor the quantity available for absorption in the gastrointestinal tract (concept of bio-accessibility). Now food scientists are discovering more and more that the more the somewhat tight matrix of foods (the complex building molecules) are disintegrated the higher the possibility that more nutrients will become available for absorption in the GI and for physiological function.

I absolutely do not have a problem with the writer trying to emphasize the benefits of raw vegetables over cooked but it is totally a misconception to say that because you have cooked vegetables there is no health value. Also note that in Nigeria we have a problem with power supply so the issue of food preservation comes into play to minimize microbial activity in foods you need to reduce water activity of course there are different methods of achieving this but In Nigeria we cook.
FoodRe: Why Do Nigerians Cook Their Stew So Much? by howfarwhatagwan: 10:52pm On Sep 10, 2013
That you cooked tomatoes does not mean there is no nutritional value. You cannot say it is zero health value. Did you do the proximate analysis of the cooked tomatoes to come to the conclusion that there is no health value? please let us be careful about the sort of information we pass on and please don't believe everything you read foods in general have a very complex matrix. Raw food and cooked food all have their advantages and disadvantages. Also when you talk about nutritional/health value of foods you need to take into consideration bioavailability and bio-accessibility these two concepts are very important.
Music/RadioRe: Davido 'Skelewu' Vs Wizkid Jaiye Jaiye - Which Do You Prefer? by howfarwhatagwan: 9:45pm On Aug 31, 2013
Fans of Wizkid will surely prefer Jaiye while fans of Davido will go for Skelewu but if you are not a fan of any of the two and you are just listening to both music I think you will prefer Skelewu...
Music/RadioRe: Davido 'Skelewu' Vs Wizkid Jaiye Jaiye - Which Do You Prefer? by howfarwhatagwan: 9:40pm On Aug 31, 2013
Rawpidgin: i haven't listened to both & i ain't planning to.
na unna dey encourage all these naija artist to dey sing rubbish so, & the rubbish music dey always dey get rubbish names like: skelewu, alingo, limpopo, kpalasa, skubudu & alongalo.
its not that our musicians are not talented o, but dem dey feel say if dem sing music wen make sense naija nor go buy am, hence they have to sing nonsense 4 unna to appreciate their effort.
that is why i will always respect 2face idibia, naim be the only dude wen nor dey put sales 4 mind b4 im write music, thats why u see say just one party jam 4 im album is okay & he still dey sell like mad.
their are lots of things to sing about in naija, so my fellow nigerians, any album wen nor talk about how we go move forward, how the government go take beta, how steady light go take dey make we nor buy am abeg
Lol very true but also truth be told it is these same songs you have mentioned that keep a lot of Nigerians Sane cos they are able to dance and just have fun. If you remove the fun times we have in Nigeria and religion we will go insane given the problems we have however I still believe that we can have party songs with better lyrics and not just about women or shake this and that...
Christianity EtcRe: Ese Walter Writes A Letter To Jesus by howfarwhatagwan: 5:55pm On Aug 29, 2013
Exactly what Christians get when we refuse to read our bibles but rather follow mere humans like ourselves. Madam Ese please accept responsibility for your actions and stop looking for sympathy. Your repentance is between you and the almighty God stop trying to make us witnesses abeg we also have our own sins we are probably dealing with and have not called on the media and public to be witnesses.
EducationRe: FG Can't Meet With ASUU Demands - Okonjo-Iweala by howfarwhatagwan: 10:56pm On Aug 13, 2013
Mrs Okonjo-Iweala why don't you start by giving up the unnecessary allowances and expenses you and your colleagues are enjoying. Lets not even talk about the senate and house of reps. you guys need to make sacrifices you cannot expect the lecturers to continue to compromise and make sacrifices. Let us assume that ASUU's demands are unreasonable truth is they are probably making these requests because on a daily basis they can see the wastages in government.

Nigerians how long are we going to remain in this hopeless situation. I pray that God will give us the courage to fight one of these days. Greed and hunger have made us slaves for too long. If we do not make the sacrifices now then our children are doomed and will remain enslaved.

CelebritiesRe: Jermaine Jackson Praises P-square's "Personally" Tribute To Michael Jackson by howfarwhatagwan: 7:54am On Jul 25, 2013
lexyking: I'm still trying to figure out what brought MJ's picture into the video of this song as no mention of. Him was made in the song but now I know they used it as a selling point to get some attention from the states. My advise to them is to be 100% real and create a niche for themselves rather than chosing to walk in someone else's shadow cos the truth be said they can never really be taken as MJ's prodigy
You don't have to be so critical all the time. You didn't hear his name but you saw his moves. Common learn to appreciate people's hard work. Are you 100% real yourself? They never asked to be taken as MJ's prodigy if you have followed their music history you will know form time that they have always loved MJ. I can bet 90% that your criticisms are based on some typical Nigerian sentiments.
PoliticsRe: Senator Ahmed Yerima Replies His Critics by howfarwhatagwan: 9:09pm On Jul 20, 2013
Yerima I'm appalled at your reply. If you had done your job as a Governor or senator then the girls looking for 500 naira will most likely not be doing so. Are you the only Muslim in the world? Are you not ashamed that all the things you have listed, you have the opportunity to do something about them and rather than do it you are fighting for some evil course? Why don't you marry your 6 old child?

You don't even know when to keep quiet. So the fact that people do all the things you are talking about does it make it right? So what you are claiming is that underage marriage is a solution to economic hardship? Arrant Nonsense
PoliticsRe: Protest Against Child Marriage To Hold Today In Lagos,Abuja And Other States by howfarwhatagwan: 12:49pm On Jul 20, 2013
Why cant people just take time read the subject, digest it and think before making comments. They are trying to sign a petition in protest... Gosh this is the right way to go.

for those saying there are better things to protest about go and start your own protest now and oh how easy for you to say do you know what it feels like to have a child? of course you obviously have no clue and then some mad man will want to steal her innocence. You might as well have the child and marry her yourself.

I have tried so hard to refrain from saying this but will go ahead may God severely punish every evil man who takes delight in defiling innocent children be it in the senate or on this forum (AMEN)

Please Nigerians always think before you make comments on such sensitive issues that have huge consequences.

Oh Chidi Lloyd how I wish you were in the senate to help us break Yerima's head when he started this rubbish at least you for get standing ovation for this one. Make any man near my pikin first I will kill you myself.

RomanceRe: Confessions Of A Fat Girl by howfarwhatagwan: 10:50pm On Jul 16, 2013
You have to first love yourself before you can love another and be truly loved. You need to boost your self confidence. Work hard at changing what you can and accept what you cannot change and stop looking for happiness from humans let it come from within you. Occupy yourself with things that make you happy. Don't wait for any human to make you happy if you do you may never find true happiness.
PoliticsRe: Michael Chinda Flown Overseas! by howfarwhatagwan: 7:35pm On Jul 13, 2013
Exactly why I was laughing at Nigerians supporting them. If it was a common man now you no go fit fly abroad oh hey Naija we have suffered that is why I say if the ways by which these politicians go abroad at the slightest opportunity can be blocked then we will be on the right path to moving Naija forward

Well Mr Chinda I wish you quick recovery what Mr Lloyd did to you was very bad he acted like a raving lunatic. I do hope that if all the things you Mr Chinda are also accused of are true that this will be a big lesson in your life.

Lesson: ''The heart of a man is desperately wicked and no man can know it'' therefore always choose your words and actions carefully
