Agriculture / Insights On Storage Business by hoyze24: 6:46am On Jun 20, 2020
I have been involved in yam trading for a while, about four years now but I got to confirm a trend just this year.
Last month, I met an older man whose major businesses involved storage of produce. He buys when prices are low during harvest and sells when supply gets reduced. He's well to do and I expected to hear a lot from him during our conversation. He was very factual about the business and noted you needed good money, great supply and demand networks as well as good storage facilities to run the business. He buys majorly groundnut, soybeans, paddy rice and yams.
Returns on investment on these produce seems to be the trickiest. On grains, he said returns are not always the same every year but the least he has made over the years have been between 10-15% and there were times he made close to 200% but it takes between 6 and 8 months to store those produce.
However,he was very optimistic on yams but noted he doesn't buy it so much because he produces a lot from his farm. Yams he noted could give minimum of 50% ROI yearly although it depends majorly on size and the period of buying and it takes 5-6 months to store. However, yams could spoil during storage if not properly stored and even if it was properly stored, some would still spoil. So, with him, one needed to buy 10% of the number of yams you plan to store to replace the spoilt ones during sales, sounds like a good idea. He's very right about the yams, the one I buy for 30k around March are now being sold for over 40k.
I learnt a lot from this man and I'm hoping another season comes. You can take some lessons from this and apply the coming season as well.

So why was his corpse smuggled in at the dead of the night and immediately his corpse was flown in, there was power outage in the airport until d ambulance conveying his corpse left the airport?
Everything you wrote here were said by people who probably knows nothing about the whole process. He was flown back to Nigeria weeks before his death and so you know, he died at the Ask rock. I've read two books, one from his media aide and another from an opposition that takes about the last days of Yaradua. I'm not telling you what I heard from people, I'm telling you what close allies knew.
Politics / Re: Abba Kyari: Was Kemi Olunloyo Right About Death In Aso Rock? by hoyze24: 9:50am On Apr 18, 2020
He was alive two weeks ago. Kemi might have news about the deterioration of his health then and coincidence with a second person's dieing from the virus. It was just speculations but man actually gave up the ghost last night. Rip Abba.

Is Umaru Yaradua not a Muslim ?
Yaradua died may 5 and it was announced same day. Many actually thought he died way before then. That's not true. You might not agree with me but you definitely have no evidence he was dead weeks before it was announced. They were only assumptions he was dead. Many who were close knew his chances of making it was very slim weeks before he died.
Pets / Re: Do Dogs See Spirits And Witches? by hoyze24: 5:45pm On Apr 14, 2020
In 2001, two people died close to my house in a week. For the whole of that week, a particular dog cried about two days all night before the first person died, it did same before the second died and stopped as soon as the second died. We believed the dog must have cried because it saw evil but I really don't want to believe dogs have such spiritual ability.
Politics / Re: 11 Million "Poor And Vulnerable" List. Zamfara Leads, South-East Lowest by hoyze24: 7:36pm On Apr 11, 2020
I wouldn't believe this. Comparing households and total number of people in many northern states are wrong. Averagely, each household in the north has about four people as minimum. How does Taraba state especially have these numbers. Either the information is wrong or they only brought this to show they have a record.

If our banking sectors don't restructure, very soon telecommunications providers may take over banking services.
Mobile operators have more capacity to take on unbanked people and residents of rural areas faster due to high usage of mobile phones. That's financial inclusion but with the way things are in Nigeria, the banks have an edge over telcos. Only the cbn could make policies that would engage more mobile money operators. banks are going to be relevant here forever.

Sometimes, people don't need others opinion about som personal issues.

But my advice; centring on, do you like to be a business person or a career profiled personality?
If you prefer the latter, no matter the condition of the job, go ahead and build your profile. The pay is enough to get up from the lowest ground in anywhere in Nigeria.

If the former is your look-out-for, don't ever consider the job. The profit margin you make currently with the amount of capital presenting it's blue face to you right now(#1M) is very good enough to turn you to a millionaire entrepreneur in 5 years if you can put more efforts than the ones you had always put, even if it pure water business.

The latter builds your profile while the former builds your financial strength.
Started the job already. Business is on hold for now but it would start January, working towards putting someone in charge.
Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by hoyze24: 7:16pm On Oct 28, 2019
Please each time I check returns on treasury bills, I see different levels for 91, 182 and 364 days. What's the major difference between these changes. From my knowledge, why invest for one year when I could get similar percentage in 91 days? Or are the 91 and 182 days percentages a division of what's obtainable annually? I need answers please. Thanks.

Investment / Re: Have I Lost Everything To Live For In Life??? by hoyze24: 4:32pm On Oct 27, 2019
This sounds really difficult with you but it brings out a good reflection that you understand what you're going through, you're tired of it and want to get out. It's difficult to get good jobs in a fast way in Nigeria, one has to saddle with displeasing jobs and the likes for some initial years. However, I would advise you start connecting with people as much as you can offline and online. It could even be in your place of religious worship. One way or the other, you might get someone who would help with what you need at the moment and some could volunteer to get you a job, learn valuable skills or start businesses. Keep doing this and I can assure you help would come before the year runs out. Don't be so bothered about your age, you can't do anything about that.

They will be running about looking for investors. Ask him the amount of rice produced in Ekiti and you would be surprised at the meagre quantity. work on enabling your farmers to produce more, set up modular mills and the lives of the people would get better. Dem go install 20T per day machine, state go dey produce 20T per month. Did he even consider the need for irrigation farming before shouting we dey find money?

Npower dey earn 30k now and they are okay in a way. It actually depends on where you are based. Someone who earns 30k in Taraba wouldn't complain a lot because accommodation is cheap, foods are too but in Lagos, you go hear when!
