Getting into the medicine department alone is not just enough in some Unis like mine AAU I'm a first year student in the department and we're 300+ but only nearly 50 get to graduate. It's not that they're dull in fact they're the most serious anywhere. Night classes are always full even on Sundays but fail just one course and you're out. Also there's the pre MBBS exam that 200 level students take after 1 and a half years. That's where they filter the students. Until you pass that exam you're not a medical student sef But God's grace that has been keeping my seniors before me will also be with us.

Exactly why I had to change from the school to EBSU. I picked it initially cos I heard the competition is less tougher compared to some other schools but I later got the "gist of overpopulation" from people on this forum most of who are students of the school. Sharparly, I japa go EBSU. I don't know what awaits me in EBSU but whatever comes out at the end, we keep moving and fighting and hoping.......I have regged and everything. Just waiting for admission now. AAU has been prevented from admitting into Medicine department this year sef. Maybe it's because of their overpopulation....who knows

We all know who pathologists are(Doctors). Medical Laboratory Technologists are scientists whose primary duty are too perform a wide range of tests. This definition is vague hope you know na my pipuru.
Main story. A few months ago when I went to a Laboratory,CliniX to do a random test. Damn,tests are expensive not to talk more of radiology and ECG.
Initially,I was told by a MLS student about how they claim to know about Pathology and some others. But I later knew it was not all true about what he said. Saying that they diagnose using sophisticated machineries which I agree. What I later come to know is that they work independently of the Pathology which was a lie.
Few days after when I came for my results, I was talking to a Radiologists not a Radiographer a martured man like that we where in a Dark Room with big guns(machines). So i asked him about the lab leadership and he said that the biggest problem is JOHESU that they don't know their place in the health field. I read a misconception on what JOHESU saying that other Allied Héalth practicioners should head schools of Medicine or Hospitals. That is a pure hoax. There is no where in the world that Nurses head Hospitals(Except nursing homes), nor pharmacists,nor physiotherapists,nor Lab scientists nor radiographers. The only ones I have seen is those who are with MBA who administrate in hospitals. Fine they can be health Ministers, Public Health experts but there is a limitation Yes. Doctors have their fair share of the Drama caused that will be for another day.

Lab technician--->Lab Technologists ------>Lab Manager------>Pathologists. The lab manager might take independent decisions in rare cases but are more listened to by the Pathologist.
There are more things to write that are just the truth. So what do you guys say? A Pathologist? OR a Lab Scientist?

Who cares about who should head a lab? Pathologists are heading certain labs and the labs are doing well. Some are not doing well. Same thing with labs headed by medical lab sceintists. Some are doing well and some are not. All these you are doing ko necessary I swear. People are studying courses that are not even related to all these and much lower to these courses in many people's view and are still doing so well that even some doctors might envy them. There are numerous courses in the Uni. They are plenty like that not because some are better than others, but because as a society we need them all and people have to study it all. What you go for is then your problem. Stop with the comparison of different courses, because it doesn't really help. The world that awaits you out there care less about your degree but more about your personal development and determination to make an impact wherever you find yourself. Don't spend your whole life discussing all the courses in the Uni.

I am in big wahala oo. Jamb change of institution is not going now and ebsu has started post UTME application today. I reached to EBSU support number and the person told me that people that didn't choose them in jamb can register but I have tried and it keeps saying that it can't find my jamb reg no in the jamb list. The form will be available for just 3 weeks oo.

Please, I need help on this issue.

A relative of mine is currently studying medicine in a state university. She's in the middle of her 4th year now, but still officially in 300l and yet to write her 1st MB exam. The problem is that the school is too slow with frequent accreditation problems that have caused a backlog of classes (400lA-C, 500l A-C, 600l A and B). With these delays coupled with the current coronavirus pandemic, the projection for their class now is that the earliest they can graduate is 2025 (someone that's supposed to graduate in 2022 if it's 6 years)

We are wondering if it's possible for her to transfer to another school immediately after she writes her 1st MB exam here and join the 300l second semester/ 400l class over there and complete her programme in 6 years, or at most 7 years. Please, does anyone know which medical schools can accept such a transfer (I did a little research online, and most said the highest transfer they accept is to start 200l). More advice on this issue will be appreciated.

So I was thinking about my family extensively and how we are not united at all. I can remember one person in the family that used to call for family meeting and get together every year. The man died almost 20yrs ago when I was still growing up and since then, there's no time again members of the family have all gathered to meet, greet and chart the way forward concerning the family extensively. May be he was able to achieve that because he was rich and respected.

Now, the only time we meet is if there's a burial, a ceremony or any gathering that would force people to attend and in most cases, the married ones don't come with their kids. I mean this is a very bad pace set for the new generation we are breeding today.

My two kids (3rd is 3 months old), outside my sister and her kids whom we are staying in the same city, my kids have not been able to meet other kids from my nephew and nieces and relatives generally and familiarize with them. This is giving me reasons to worry about as my kids may see their cousins on the road tomorrow and pass without knowing they are cousins. In worst case, what if in the future they meet and happen to be in a relationship without knowing they are related? Nollywood movie. Lol.

However, I'm thinking on how I can reunite the family such that once in a while, members of the family will come with their kids and we all gather, meet ourselves, greet and familiarize with each other but how to go about is what I lack exact knowledge on.

Any suggestions will be appreciated. Meanwhile, is this kind of disunity also happening in your family? How often do you guys meet yourselves in your extended family? Share your experiences.

What you said about the possibility of relatives being in sexual relationship cos they don't know each other is not a Nollywood stuff to me anymore oo. It happened to some guys that I grew up with in my area (older though). They both came home from Lagos differently and met each other in their family house....it was madding..lol
