Opt for what you’re confident doing. Nursing in UK is no joke. You’re going to need a sponsor for the next 5years, meaning you can only work as a nurse for that time period. You cannot therefore afford to loose your PIN. With that in mind, pick a side then chase the materials for it. yugotee: [q1uote author=yugotee post=88821573]Hello friends,
I would need your input on this:
I am a double qualified Nurse RN and RPN ready to migrate to UK. My Nursing experience has been in general nursing and not Psychiatric nursing. In the NMC registration for CBT exams should I opt for the Mental Health or Adult/General Nursing.
What is the flow for Mental Health CBT as well as Adult Nursing CBT? I would appreciate if I can get study materials for both so as to make up my mind asap. Please send the cbt study materials to yugoberryt@gmail.com. Thank you.. |

Hi. If you’ve the money you can apply together but when filling your visa application form pick different date of arrival ( up to 3 months from application date) from the main applicant. That’s what we did anyway and it worked Iruosonobrugwhe: Thanks for being open to all questions. From your experience ,what would you advise a family that can afford the 5m? Apply together with the principal but wait till after the OSCE? or wait for the principal to go and then start the visa processing? |

Did 2k and there was no special requirement. It’s instant as well, leas than 20mins every time I’ve sent through Ace HiddenID: They don't ask for proof of funds. I only had to upload my passport. Though 1k is the maximum I've done so far, not sure if there are other requirements if you're transferring large funds.
The transfer isn't instant. Mine usually takes 2 hours |

- It takes 5years to get Independent leave to remain (ILR) - It takes another one year after to get citizenship
UK - Easier to migrate to as a Nurse - If you are serious with it, it takes roughly 4months - The pay is between £24k - £30k - But it is work visa you will be given - It takes 5yrs to get a resident permit - Another 5yrs to get citizenship - RN to BSN top up program in University of Sunderland takes about 12months and cost [b]£12k - #5,500,000[/] |

Ma’am, as of today, Nigerian law does not recognise anything like that. What you are is a quack, either you learn from a Dr or Nurse or small scale hospital, and whoever this ‘nurse/small scale hospital’ is, they have duped you. I’d suggest you ask them for a refund and then go to a Uni or School of Nursing. Then you can start thinking of travelling to any Country you so wish. That certified certificate you have is not it wowdiva: Nope not the ones they call quacks, those are people that learn from nurses or a small scale hospital. There is an institution that offers certified training for Nursing aides, Phlebetomy and Medical assistant. Though they claim their certification is recognized in UK and other countries aside Canada. I was thinking of taking up the program once we are free from the pandemic |

Do you mind telling me more about this program and how to get into one please? wowdiva: Hello please can a certified nurse assistant with certification from Nigeria work in UK? Are there number of years experience required to work in UK. |

Hi She, I’m sorry i do not know you’re a she without having had any contact with you or a clue pointing you are a she. That doesn’t mean i lack observation skills. But like you said, I wouldn’t have had to type that if you had read the full news- apology accepted Se etigbo? Aphrodite007: *she not he.
You clearly lack observation skills, like “she” did.
The news said it was reducing the training years from 6 to 3, so I assumed it meant the training years meant for university students. Hence the panic of being unqualified. You probably a paramedic or nurse and thought I was calling you unqualified- but don’t be too offended, I hadn’t read the full news.

That much was easy to pick, i def read that from the post. My question was how he deemed them unqualified? deept: The scheme is for those already on the medical field who are not doctors ie nurses, paramedics, etc who want to be doctors |

Wait, how does going for 3years course/training make them under qualified? Have you seen the course outline and training schedule already? How did you arrive at ‘under qualified’ so fast? Sending love and light your way though Aphrodite007: Interesting. So they going to go from having no doctors, to having under qualified docs... interesting.
Let me do and be going to Canada please |

Sir/Ma, desist from saying what you do not know. NO AGENCY SHOULD ASK YOU TO PAY!!!!!!!!! Yes, all that for free from your end. Their pay comes from the employer who they have provided with an employee. You saying the agency offers refund goes to prove that you only have an idea about the whole thing. The employer offers to refund all or part of the money. How much you get back depends on each employer, weather you get a 1 month free accommodation or 3 months depends on the employer and has zilch to do with the agency. Same as weather you sign a 2year contract or 3years. Some employer will let you leave if you want to after 1 year, others will insist you have to stay for the term of your contract or refund the health surcharge and visa fee. I contacted 3 agencies myself before eventually settling for one and i paid no dime, same as about 15 other Nigerians i know here. Get you facts right. Mehree: pls don't say what you know nothing of, no agency would help you for free Ma'am. Most of this agencies offer a full refund of ielts cost/Cbt, processes one's visa to travel for the OSCE, help get a job as a pre-registered nurse while helping in tutoring one to pass the OSCE exams. All this for free at the end of the day? no! i know someone who used one and terms were discussed before it all started... An agency makes it all easier but its a joke to think its all for free. everyone's got to make their search for whats suitable for them though. |
Travel › Re: Nigerian Nurses And Midwives With The Dream Of Working Abroad Let's Meet Here. by Hunnybee: 12:26pm On Jan 10, 2020 |
Please do not mislead people, no agency should ask you to pay and using one is not detrimental to anyone, in reality it makes things easier Mehree: 1)An agency would give you an option of travelling with your spouse and kids(less than 18years) but at your expenses or just you but all cost covered then after or year or 2(or probably less) you can get ur family over.
2)Well, Most Agency offer refund of your ielts/CBT, visa, Accommodation and OSCE registration and tutoring but then If you don't want to pay for someone's connections, time and travel advice, using an agent may not be worthwhile to you. "There’s really no set fee structure," And while in many instances a recruitment agency can help you clinch the greatest values, you will need to pay for their consultation hours, efforts and knowledge by signing a 2/3years contract with them while working as a registered nurse, its left for u to be aware of the terms set out in the agreement before venturing into it, so u see?If they handle the arrangements for you, that money will most likely come back to you in one form or another. |
Travel › Re: Nigerian Nurses And Midwives With The Dream Of Working Abroad Let's Meet Here. by Hunnybee: 12:25pm On Jan 10, 2020 |
Do not be mislead, no agency will ask you to pay a dime if you’re coming to UK, you also do not sign any agreement with the agency, the agreement is with your employer which you will sign anyway whether you use an agency or not. Chances of you paying your own fee increases if you go straight to employer without the agency. Any agency asking you to pay for UK processing is a fake and only out to dupe you. dguyindcorner: Thank you for the swift response. So it depends on the agent's terms and conditions.
*would you recommend any agent or a platform where one can connect with agents? |

LagosismyHome: Uk or Europe .....I did UK budget holiday last year , caravan , chalet and apartment using the sun . Some were rubbish but some were ok. With the sun it usually the worst accommodation so after the first experience i used it only as a guide or upgrade with it . Thank you, i really appreciate. That been said, how long does CGFNS take for evaluation these days? vickyehi: I dont know anyone who has used them recently but what I want to address is the fact that when you used ERES, you might save 1mth or 2 from your credential evaluation timeline but it costs you more down the line.
Example only CGFNS issues Visa screen certificate. So you would need to resend all transcripts and verification when you get to that stage. However if assessment was done through CGFNS, you save time and money because the only thing to do then would be ielts and nclex exam results verification from the BON. Saves you at least 100k naira. |

Oh really So Doctors are also lab scientists in the UK? They are the midwives as well aren't they? I don't support beating them up, but Nigerian Doctors need to learn that each member of the health care team is trained for that field, and then leave them alone to do their job. They cannot be Jack of all trades. phantom: Make dem continue. We dey watch.....shite.hole country. Riff raffs in the name of lab scientists dey fight pathologists who naturally are the head of the labs. Rubbish wey dem no fit try for UK. My radiographer friends who have relocated to the UK tell me they are put in their place over there. They cant touch the doctors there. The doctors are on a whole different stratosphere. |

I salute our seniors (@Dustydee, @Justwuise, @fatima, @dupyshoo, @lexusgs430, @UKmigrant and others) for keeping the thread alive. The information that we got from here eased the whole process (visa application process, house search and bank account opening, among other) for us. Just to add my experience with visa submission process (Submitted application: April, 2019), TLS has revised the concept of "walk-in submission". Walk-in applicants can only submit at anytime on the selected date for the walk-in appointment. |
