CelebritiesTukur Buratai Is A Unique Educational Reformer by Hunter2009(op): 8:09pm On Aug 15, 2023
Tukur Buratai is a unique educational reformer

By: Ojo Emmanuel Ademola

It’s nearly two years today that Lt General Buratai (Rtd) made the statement, and I quote: “Without education, society will be static, consigned to the backwaters of development.” Since I have taken an intellectual approach to indeed, enable an understanding of the former Chief of Army Staff, who later was appointed by former President Muhammed Buhari as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Republic of Benin.

At the inauguration of the roads and gates of Command Science Secondary School, Saki, Oyo State, Buratai demonstrated among other central qualities of leadership, an upping for qualitative education. For several decades, the retired General and Ambassador have demonstrated that as a historian, he can credibly add values unprecedentedly to the National Education Agenda using what I consider an effective scaling technique provided by his potent narrative prowess.

What an outstanding performer; on the occasion, and essentially pleasing that the exemplary envoy of education, General Buratai explained that education brings life and hope, and he concluded by urging teachers, students as well as leadership of the academy to make prudent use of the infrastructure that nourishes it. He subsequently made a call to the community on how best to get citizenship education as a progressive tool and requested frequently engaging in massive signup of their youngsters in the school to benefit considerably in the interest of the society for social change. The retired General, takes an intellectual approach to provide the nexus on how security agencies would continue to secure the lives of the students, teachers as well as the whole community to protect the territorial integrity of Nigeria’s Security ultimately.

Understandably, Buratai is a unique Reader, who relishes the quality of leadership, as he understands that proficiency is the key to conquest, and reading books is an extraordinary source of such knowledge. Leaders read books because they know this is one of the acceptable paths to learn specialties they don’t know and gird the fortes they know. Indeed, this is a salute to the retired General who is a unique and centrally authentic motivator in building a winning educational system in Nigeria to exemplify a knowledge-based civilization. Buratai’s impactful approach to National Education is that of exemplary gem to continually call for stakeholders’ reflection and possibly dialogue when considering developmental pathways that could have something significant as outcomes. One should say that, while profound contemplations can in some cases divert thinkers from the real world, Buratai exhibits and remain a profound thinker, always paying attention to what he needs to say since it’s one more possibility to learn and impact the education landscape positively. Such a profound mastermind is quite usually unrepeatable and might accentuate a sense of belonging because thinkers expect that peaceful opportunity could zero in on their viewpoints and give their thoughts space and opportunity to bloom. Such an indication could extend to the notion of safeguarding the educational landscape to exemplify the thoughtfulness that characterizes such deep thinkers, in the likes of the retired General TY Buratai.

In debates of National Interest and legacy, I have always come to agree mostly with public engendering with the reading top attributes that must get the Midas touch. Indeed, Buratai has a Midas touch as things are turning to gold at his whiff undoubtedly.

Tinubu Gets Strong Prophetic Warning From Pro. Iginla Who Predicted His Victory( Video)

Prophet Joshua Iginla, the leader and founder of the Champions Royal Assembly, has warned President Bola Tinubu to watch his steps in his cause of running the country’s affairs, as any misstep would lead to catastrophe.
Iginla gave the warning in one of his ministrations in a short video shared on the YouTube page of the church on Thursday, August 10.
“Our current leader, President Bola Ahmed, you mean well for this country, but there are people who want to destabilize every sensitive part to distract you,” Iginla said. “Do not make your enemies friends and your friends enemies.”

The cleric urged the president to beware of the Ides of March and avoid making his friends his enemy and making his enemies his friend. Iginla’s warning comes at a time when President Tinubu is facing several challenges, including the confirmation of his ministerial nominees, the leadership crisis in the Niger Republic, and the high cost of living in Nigeria.

The warning came when President Tinubu forwarded the names of 49 ministerial nominees to the Senate for screening and confirmation. Among the nominees, 45 were confirmed by the Senate, while three are yet to be approved over security concerns. Two former governors, including Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, are yet to be confirmed. One of the ministerial nominees has withdrawn.

Recall that Prophet Iginla, ahead of the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), predicted that Tinubu would get the ticket and win the 2023 presidential election.

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the allocation of N50 million alongside the construction of staff houses and students’ hostels at the Nigerian Army University, Biu (NAUB), which is owned by the Federal Government.

The governor announced the interventions on Friday when the Army University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Kyari Mohammed, led a management delegation to a courtesy call on the governor at the Government House in Maiduguri.

“… Borno State Government will release N50m to the University”, Zulum announced.

“Insha Allah, we will provide accommodation for staff as well as hostels for students' use at the university. On this note, I want to direct the Commissioner for Works and Housing to come up with an architectural design for the project”, Zulum said.

Before Friday’s intervention, Governor Zulum had extended series of support to the University of Maiduguri, the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), Federal Polytechnic, Monguno, Federal College of Education, Gwoza, and a host of other Federal Government institutions either being set up or existing in Borno State.

Governor Zulum during the courtesy visit directed Borno State’s Ministry of Education to prepare a list of deserving students that will be awarded scholarship to pursue for higher education at the Nigerian Army University, Biu.

The governor directed that beneficiaries be drawn from the the three senatorial zones: Northern, Central and Southern senatorial districts of the state.

Zulum also directed all state-owned tertiary institutions to re-introduce convocation ceremonies which were suspended due to the activities of Boko Haram insurgents.

He noted that such ceremonies should be used to identify performing students and award scholarships for further studies.

The governor commended former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Yusuf Buratai (rtd), for facilitating the establishment of the Army University in Borno.

Speaking earlier, Vice Chancellor of the Nigerian Army University, Biu, Prof. Kyari Mohammed, commended the remarkable progress made by Borno in the field of educational development, during the last four years of Zulum's administration.

“As a university, we are particularly encouraged by the monumental achievements recorded in the education sector, from the primary to the tertiary level. In terms of teacher quality development, recruitment, training and re-training and the high-quality infrastructural development for which Borno is now a reference point around the country”, Prof. Kyari said.

How Prophet Kingsley Aitafo Accurately Predicted Pastor Taiwo Odukoya’s Death

The Senior Pastor of Fountain of Life Church Pastor Taiwo Odukoya is dead.
Odukoya was said to have died on Monday, August 7 in the United States of America (USA).

Interestingly, this is in confirmation of the prophetic message of Prophet Kingsley Aitafo. In March 2023 he predicted that we should pray very well for a Nigerian top General Overseer. A very vibrant one that is rounding up to leave for home…Prophet Kingsley gave the prophetic warning about Pastor Taiwo Odukoya’s demise weeks back and it came to pass on Monday.

In a statement, the church said, “The fountain of Life Church Family, in tatal submission to the will of God Almighty announces the passing unto greater glory of our Father, Teacher;

“…A great servant of the Highest God, Pastor Daniel Taiwo Odukoya, Founding Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, who passed unto glory on the 7th of August 2023 in the USA.

“We are in total submission to you LORD!!!
“We thank the Lord for the gift of a greater leader!!!”

Odukoya was born on 15 June 1956 in the city of Kaduna, Colonial Nigeria, where he was also raised. He had his primary and secondary education at Baptist Primary School, Kigo Road, Kaduna, and St. Paul’s College (now known as Kufena College, Wusasa) Zaria respectively, before proceeding to the University of Ibadan in 1976 where he obtained a degree in petroleum engineering in 1981.

As a petroleum engineer, Odukoya started work at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in April 1982 after the compulsory one-year National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) scheme and served there until his voluntary retirement in January 1994 after his call to the ministry.

In 1980, Odukoya met Bimbo Williams at the University of Ibadan and the two struck a relationship that led to their marriage in 1984. The marriage produced three children.

On 10 December 2005, Bimbo Odukoya, along with 102 other people, died on the crashed Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145. Bimbo Odukoya’s messages had been well and widely received by many.

Bombshell! Businessman Tunde Ayeni Breaks Silence, Disassociates Self from Homewrecker Adaobi Alagwu and her child in a strongly worded Disclaimer

One week after his beautiful wife, Abiola Ayeni, granted an interview to Thisday newspaper, where she defended her husband’s alleged infidelity, billionaire businessman and top corporate lawyer, Tunde Ayeni, has come out in a strongly-worded disclaimer in Thisday Newspaper, to set the record straight on his alleged relationship with one Miss Adaobi Alagwu.
Attached is the letter, exclusively obtained by TheCapital, duly signed by Dr. Tunde Ayeni.

I, Dr Tunde Ayeni CON, hereby refute the noxious rumour concerning me and one Miss Adaobi Alagwu. Consequently, I find it pertinent to set the records straight permanently and for the last time.

One, I am not involved in any way with Miss Alagwu and I will never be again. I do not have anything to do with her and her daughter and I will never have anything to do with them. There isn’t the slightest interaction between us in any form whatsoever and there will not be.

Two. The rumours alleging that I gave her certain material possessions including a house, an office and cars are all lies. They are figments of the imagination of mischief makers.

Three. Right now, I’m a father of wonderful children with my delectable wife, Abiola. These are the legitimate scions of the Ayeni dynasty. I do not have any child elsewhere.

To allay any form of speculation based on Miss Adaobi’s claims, I hereby state that a DNA test was conducted to ascertain the paternity of the child.

However, for the sake of the child involved, even though we are not related to her, my wife and I have chosen not to speak of the content of the DNA. We leave Miss Alagwu to do so if she so wishes.

The Ayeni family is not in any way connected to the child and we will never be. Thus I refute the rumour of my connection to her and her mother, Miss Alagwu. There is no form of interaction between us and there would never be any interaction between us.

The happiness and stability of my immediate family are of utmost importance to me at the moment. And I remain committed to upholding the undiminishing love, peace, and unity of my beloved family.

Thus I stand by my wife for her unwavering love and loyalty in the face of undeserved discourtesy spelt by the rumour. I want to thank her for coming out boldly to speak for our family in her recent interview. I stand with her in defence of our family. And I am wholeheartedly in support of her submissions in the interview.
I recognize that my speaking out on this matter might not be a common occurrence but in light of my hard earned reputation, my children’s future and the need to stand by the right principles even in the face of so much blackmail and set the records straight. A man is only as good as his beliefs.
This is the last time that my family and I will come out to address the issue.

Even as there seem to be major attempts by the efforts of naysayers to blackmail me and my family into shifting grounds or accepting what is certainly not in the best interest of our family, they will fail.

I want to thank our friends, family and associates for reaching out to us in this trying moment. We appreciate their outpouring of goodwill and love.
The media, friends and general public are, therefore, advised to respect our privacy and our stand on this matter.
Signed
Dr. Tunde Ayeni CON

How Pro. Kingsley Gave a Prophetic Warning About Nigeria, Niger War in 2022

Prophet Kingsley Aitafo has again proven that indeed he is a prophetic vessel in God's hand. This is not unconnected to the fact that during his open-air crusade in December 2022, he gave a prophetic warning about a looming war between Nigeria and Niger.

And in confirmation of his prophecy, President Bola Tinubu has written the Nigerian Senate, intimating it of the proposed military action and other sanctions against the military officers who recently seized power in the Niger Republic by the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS.

Since the soldiers seized power in Niger on July 26, the leaders of the West African regional bloc headed by President Tinubu, have been in discussions, especially on sanctions against the coup plotters.

However, the junta has remained adamant. Not even a delegation by Tinubu, yesterday, could de-escalate the situation.
His letter to the Senate was read on the floor of the Upper Chamber by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.
The letter read: “Political situation in Niger. Following the unfortunate political situation in the Niger Republic culminating in the overthrow of its President, ECOWAS under my leadership condemned the coup in its entirety and resolved to seek the return of the democratically elected government.
“In a bid to restore peace, ECOWAS convened a meeting and came out with a communique:
“Closure and monitoring of all land borders with the Niger Republic and reactivating of the border drilling exercise.
“Cutting off electricity supply to the Niger Republic; mobilizing international support for the implementation of the provisions of the ECOWAS communique.
“Preventing the operation of commercial and special flights into and from Niger Republic; blockade of goods in transit to Niger, especially from Lagos and eastern seaports.

“Military build-up and deployment of personnel for military intervention to enforce compliance of the military junta in Niger should they remain recalcitrant.”

Buratai Reveals Why President Tinubu Should Use Diplomatic, Military Options in Niger

The former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General TY Buratai Rtd who is arguably the leading security expert in Africa has revealed that the implications of the ugly trend in Niger Republic are not only crucial to ECOWAS but most importantly to Nigeria

Buratai, who delivered a timely security report days before the coup d'etat on why African Leaders should labelled coup as organized crime, opined that if Nigeria does not act decisively about the military intervention in Niger, the consequences will be more damaging to it.

"The implications of the events in Niger Republic are very crucial to ECOWAS, especially Nigeria. If Nigeria does not act decisively, the consequences will be more damaging to it. Of all the West African countries, Niger Republic is the most strategic to Nigeria. Niger Republic as Nigeria’s northern neighbour is very important. It is the only country bordering 7 states. Her economy, despite the French influence, is intricately tied to Nigeria."

According to him, Nigeria's credentials for democracy could be called to question if the coup is not checkmated, and democracy restored.

"The coup in Niger if not checkmated and democracy restored, Nigeria’s credentials on democracy could be called to question. Equally, it could have implications for democracy at home. The fuel subsidy removal in Nigeria is not only biting in Nigeria but also in all our neighbouring countries."

Thus, Buratai agrees with President Bola Tinubu as ECOWAS chairman to use both diplomatic and military options in resolving the ugly situation in the Niger Republic.

"Both diplomatic and military options should be pursued at the same time. Nigeria must take the lead in stabilizing the region. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu started very well. We should support his initiatives. Military regimes had done more damage to Africa's development than civilian administrations. Most military coups were always instigated from outside the country or had strong external influence. African democratic leaders must be responsive to the needs of their citizens"

It would be recalled that President Tinubu has sought the support of the Senate on the decision of ECOWAS including military intervention to restore democracy in the neighbouring country.

President Mohamed Bazoum was detained and overthrown on July 26 by his own guard, in the region’s third putsch in as many years following takeovers in neighbouring Mali and Burkina Faso.

The regional body had given the Niger military a week from Sunday to reinstate ousted President Mohamed Bazoum or face harder sanctions.

Tinubu’s letter read, “Following the unfortunate political situation in the Niger Republic culminating in the overthrow of its President, ECOWAS under my leadership condemned the coup in its entirety and resolved to seek the return of the democratically elected govt.

“In a bid to restore peace, ECOWAS convened a meeting and came out with a communique.

“Closure and monitoring of all land borders with the Niger Republic and reactivating of the border drilling exercise. Cutting off Electricity supply to the Niger Republic

“Mobilizing international support for the implementation of the provisions of the ECOWAS communique, preventing the operation of commercial and special flights into and from Niger Republic, blockade of goods in transit to Niger especially from Lagos and eastern seaports.

“Embarking on sensitization of Nigerians and Nigerians on the imperative of these actions, particularly via social media. Military build-up and deployment of personnel for military intervention to enforce compliance of the military junta in Niger should they remain recalcitrant

Tukur Buratai: General Extraordinaire By Bukar Usman

The Legend of Buratai Vol. 3, Sprezzatura, Abuja, 2022; Amb. Tukur Yusufu Buratai, pp. 238

This volume of Legend of Buratai that has 9 chapters and is 238 pages long was published in 2022. It was preceded by two volumes. However, it was observed that the previous volumes did not quite discuss Lt General Tukur Yusufu Buratai’s (Gen Buratai) military career and the basis of his successes. Although Gen Buratai had planned to discuss his military career in his memoir, he yielded to the desires of his readers and devoted volume 3 to a narrative of the thoughts and principles that guided him on his way to generalship. And so very early in the book Gen Buratai declared that: “In my attempt to take a critical look at generalship and the road to that exalted circle in the military, I shall expound my understanding of what is leadership, types of leadership and the best leadership style that has worked for me, leadership and generalship, steps or things I did that helped me on the road to generalship, and pitfalls to avoid on the road. This is a recollection of my personal experience from the field and also theories I learned in the class” (p.6).

In effect Gen Buratai’s military career begun in his boyhood days. According to him, he was a born soldier. His father was a World War II veteran and soldiering was his first choice as a profession even though it was providence that got him enlisted into the Nigerian Army.

A friend of his at the Teachers College Potiskum that he also attended had intimated him of an ongoing recruitment exercise into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA). He quickly applied, sat for the examination, passed, received his father’s blessings and got enlisted into the Nigerian Army as a cadet in 1981. There, begun his military career in earnest although his Indian teacher at the Teachers College Potiskum had noticed something extraordinary in his personality even at that youthful age as he kept referring to him in the class as a ‘great man’ (p.18).

As the narration goes, Gen Buratai outlined in details step-by-step the process of his rise to generalship with the sole purpose of guiding his fellow cadets and junior officers what to do for those of them who aspire from their lowly positions to be generals and even to a higher opportunity of the rank of a 3-star general that he proudly attained and served for 66months as Chief of Army Staff before he bowed out of service after 41years of military career.

Gen Buratai went on to further explain the purpose of writing this volume thus: “It is not an easy feat to rise to the level of a three-star general and Chief of Army Staff in Nigeria. There are principles and disciplines that I developed and learned from others that helped me to succeed in the Army. It will be a great disservice to humanity to keep them to myself and not to share (it) with those coming up; those who want work hard and smartly to succeed in the military” (p.30).

In his prescriptions on the road to generalship, Gen Buratai laid emphasis on personal development as being very critical to any cadet or junior officer, male or female, who wants to become a military leader, more so, in the mould of general, adding that: “…the best thing to do for any officer on the road to generalship is to be a good follower, imbibe the principles of diligence, loyalty and excellence in all ramifications of one’s life. If you want to succeed as an officer and become a military leader, you must perform better in order to stand out from the crowd. Why? It is because good performance begets more and better opportunities” (p.31).

As a demonstration of his personal development, Gen Buratai recanted how after qualification as a teacher and graduation from NDA, he proceeded to acquire first Degree in History at University of Maiduguri and a Master of Philosophy in Security Studies from the Bangladash University of Professionals. These are in addition to subsequent professional courses he went through as a military officer. In all modesty, Gen Buratai stated that in all this, he performed excellently well. It is on that account that he emphasized the benefit of education and reading which he said allow one to learn from the experiences of people one never met and who were widely reputed to be successful as military officers and as civilians in other professions in Nigeria and other countries. Gen Buratai said: “What usually distinguishes leaders from their peers and their followers is personal development for when others are busy partying and sleeping, the prospective leader is busy burning the midnight oil, reading voraciously, drinking from the fountain of wisdom and knowledge like a thirsty camel in the desert’’ (p.95), stressing that “…reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body” (p.98).

One should read widely and in-depth, digest or process what one has read, reflect and make concerted effort to put into practice what one has read, he further advised.

The rest of the book and more especially Chapter 7, pp. 103 -154, are devoted to discussions on the leadership principles and citing numerous personalities worldwide who were successful based on critical success factors that include and most importantly the virtues of trust, honesty, influence, communication skill, loyalty, selflessness, diligence, determination, confidence, ambition, commitment, physical fitness, physical appearance, spirit of camaraderie, optimism, alertness, personal character, professional capacity, art of moderation, acquisition of multilingualism skills, style of leadership, leading by example, winning mentality, prayers and avoidance of pitfalls encountered by others. Gen Buratai cited numerous personal and other examples backed by several quotations on leadership of people who had been exceptionally successful in and out of this country and going back into history to include pronouncements by notable contemporary leaders and ancient philosophers of the likes of Confucious (551-479) and a famous military strategist Alexander the Great (356-324 BC).

It is noteworthy that to underline the importance of self-discipline Gen Buratai, quoting Plato, stated that: “… For a man to conquer himself is the first and noblest of victories” adding that “…the military officer needs to be disciplined in all ramifications of his life, the way he dresses, eats, periods of sleep, talks, walks, and relates with superiors and subordinates.

There is no way a military officer can rise to generalship without personal discipline” (p.118).

It is equally noteworthy that Gen Buratai being a qualified teacher, rendered the entire narration of the book in a style of an instructor addressing his students which in this case are military cadets and junior officers. It is also a credit to him that unlike books written by former fellow military officers, there is not much of the use of military terminologies which sometimes make it difficult for the non-military reader to understand. His was written in simple English all through.

There is no doubt that not only military officers but anyone else who reads the book stands to benefit immensely from the emphasis on self-discipline in everything one does as well as the imperatives and gains of persistence in development of the body and mind.

Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai who hails from Buratai Town in Biu Local Government of Borno State, North Eastern Nigeria, was born on November 24, 1960. He enlisted into the Nigerian Army in 1981 and retired in 2021. Post-military service, he served as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Benin Republic, 2021-2022.

Bukar Usman is the former permanent secretary in the presidency, Abuja.

Incidentally, a helicopter that lost control crashed into a building in the Oba Akran, Ikeja area of Lagos State on Tuesday.

According to reports, the incident occurred near the AP Filling Station and United Bank For Africa on Oba Akran Street in Ikeja, the Lagos State capital.

The Lagos Fire and Rescue Service was being awaited for further emergency operations to salvage the situation.

Meanwhile, he has released another prophetic warning today. OTJ, as he is fondly called, revealed that prayers should be raised against every attack in the South-South government. Also, he revealed that a king will be removed surprisingly.

Here are the new prophetic alerts…

In a monumental speech to the nation, President Bola Tinubu addressed the current state of Nigeria's economy, and his vision for the country's future. During the speech, he empathized with Nigerians for the hardships being faced, and went further to outline bold measures to revitalize the economy and ensure that the impact of these measures are far reaching.

"The cost of fuel has gone up. Food and other prices have followed it. Households and businesses struggle. Things seem anxious and uncertain. I understand the hardship you face," said President Tinubu, acknowledging the current economic challenges. He expressed his commitment to alleviate the burden and ensure an equitable future for all Nigerians.

Furthermore, the President also announced that Nigeria has saved trillions of Naira since the removal of fuel subsidies and stoppage of the preferential exchange rate system, which previously benefited a small group of elites at the expense of the wider population.

Accordingly, the President announced measures - some of which are being implemented, to cushion the effect of these necessary changes.

Key measures include:

1) *Reinvesting Trillions already saved from Fuel Subsidy Removal*: Since the removal of the fuel subsidy, trillions have already been saved. These funds were previously funneled into select pockets, but will now be utilized in public services.

2) *Exchange Rate System Reform*: The government has dismantled the multiple exchange rate system to curb currency speculation and create more equitable wealth distribution.

3) *Business Tax Relief*: Earlier this month, President Tinubu signed four Executive Orders suspending and deferring specific taxes, aiming to boost the manufacturing sector.

4) *Manufacturing Sector Investment*: Between now and March 2024, the administration will invest N75 billion in the manufacturing sector. This initiative will fund 75 enterprises, each with access to N1 billion credit at 9% per annum, repayable over a maximum of 60 months.

5) *MSMEs and Nano Business Investments*: N125 billion will be injected into Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) and nano businesses. This sum includes a N50 billion Conditional Grant for 1 million nano businesses and N75 billion for 100,000 MSMEs and start-ups. The administration’s target is to give N50,000 each to 1,300 nano business owners in each of the 774 local governments across the country

6) *Affordable Food Initiatives*: President Tinubu has ordered the release of 200,000 Metric Tonnes of grains and is providing 225,000 metric tonnes of farming inputs to ensure food prices remain affordable.

7) *Agricultural Land Investment*: N200 billion will be invested into cultivating 500,000 hectares of farmland. N50 billion will be allocated to each of rice, maize, wheat, and cassava cultivation.

cool *Infrastructure Support Fund*: A new Infrastructure Support Fund is being established, allowing States to invest in critical infrastructure areas.

9) *Affordable Mass Transit*: N100 billion will be invested from July 2023 to March 2024 to acquire 3,000 units of 20-seater CNG-fuelled buses for affordable mass transit across Nigeria. These will be provided to major transportation companies in the states.

10) *National Minimum Wage Review*: A new national minimum wage is being introduced in collaboration with Labour unions, providing a salary boost to Nigerian workers.

11) *Exchange Rate and Inflation Monitoring*: The government will monitor the effects of exchange rates and inflation on fuel prices and intervene if necessary.

President Bola Tinubu also revealed that his administration is working with Labour unions to introduce a new national minimum wage, assuring workers that a salary review is imminent.

"All of our good and helpful plans are in the works. More importantly, I know that they will work," affirmed President Tinubu. "We are exiting the darkness to enter a new and glorious dawn."

President Bola Tinubu remains steadfast in his mission to transform the economy, with the ultimate aim of delivering the greatest good for the greatest number of Nigerians.

RE: Unfounded Allegations Of Illicit Forex Dealings Involving BUA GROUP—

Our attention has been brought to various false allegations published against BUA Group on some online platforms. BUA Group categorically refutes the baseless allegations of illicit forex dealings with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from January to March 2016.

These accusations, propagated online by Mr. Desmond Ike-Chima and Mr. Oliver Fejiro of ENigeria News and SecretReporters respectively, are false and entirely unfounded. These individuals, known for their involvement in cyberstalking, blackmail, and defamation, have faced previous arrests (see news reports attached) for such misconduct, casting a dark shadow over their credibility.

We emphatically state that neither BUA Group nor the Chairman of the Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, received any of the alleged foreign exchange allocations from the CBN during the indicated period.

This fact is corroborated by the CBN and the respective banks.

Furthermore, in compliance with CBN’s regulations, all forex transactions by banks during 2016, were published publicly in national newspapers (some copies attached).

These records, still accessible today, provide unequivocal evidence that counters these false allegations. We, therefore, challenge Mr. Ike-Chima, Mr. Fejiro, and their sponsors to validate their claims with concrete evidence. We urge the public and our stakeholders to disregard these deceptive publications in light of these facts. We have engaged the necessary law enforcement agencies and initiated legal action against the perpetrators under the Cybercrime Prohibition Prevention Act, Laws of the Federation, 2015.

CelebritiesHostilities Between Lagos Building Investment Company Plc And Bricktop Developme by Hunter2009(op): 10:21pm On Jul 26, 2023
HOSTILITIES BETWEEN LAGOS BUILDING INVESTMENT COMPANY PLC AND BRICKTOP DEVELOPMENT & Advisory LIMITED – SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT –

APOLOGIES FOR ALL MISCONCEPTIONS AND MISPERCEPTIONS

Between the 16t h and 19t h days of May, 2023, the social media was awash with reports of invasion of the apartments situate at No. 1, Reverend Ogunbiyi Street, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, (the premises) a joint venture investment between the Lagos State Building Investment Company PLC (LBIC) and Bricktop Development & Advisory Limited (Bricktop).

In the said publications were reports of demand of bribe by the Managing Director of LBIC, Mr. Oluwatobiloba Lawal, from the management of Bricktop before performing his duties under the Joint Venture Agreement between the two parties.

Subsequent developments have led to the realisation that, while there were discussions between one Mr. Lanre Obisesan and me, Olumide Olufade, for extra flats in the premises, there were imperfections in communications as the demand was officially meant for LBIC and not Mr. Tobiloba Lawal.

To that extent, the publications in the media in this regard were false. However, the above unfortunate incident, coupled with allegations and counter-allegations of breach of the Joint Venture Agreement has led to the invocation of the arbitral provisions  f the Joint Venture Agreement and filing of Suit No. ID/6968GCM/2023 between Bricktop Development & Advisory Limited v Lagos Building Investment Company Limited; Oluwatobiloba Lawal & Olanrewaju Obisesan and in resolution of which parties have now entered into terms of settlement.

It is in the light of this that wise counsel has prevailed necessitating the need to issue this publication clarifying issues and exonerating Mr. Oluwatobiloba Lawal of any corrupt demand or unwholesome request . Mr . Lanre Obisesan has clarified that the demand for an extra flat was for LBIC and not Mr. Tobi Lawal. The said demand, which is justified in the light of all the relevant facts surrounding this matter, has compelled us 2 | Page at Bricktop to give one extra flat in the premises at No. 1, Reverend Ogunbiyi Street, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos to LBIC a fact of which has been embodied in the Terms of Settlement filed in Suit No. ID/6968GCM/2023 at the Lagos State High Court.

Furthermore, considering the good relationship that birthed the investments on No. 1, Reverend Ogunbiyi Street, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos and the harrowing effects of the publications on Mr. Tobiloba Lawal, we, at Bricktop hereby issue this statement and apologise to Mr.Tobiloba Lawal to let go of all ill feelings.

Developments in these days of the social media can easily go beyond the control of parties in an otherwise minor dispute.

We hold Mr.Tobiloba Lawal and the management of LBIC in high esteem and hereby request for resumption of relationships ante bellum.

Thank you

PoliticsCoup D'etat In Niger Republic, Why African Leaders Should Listen To Buratai's Po by Hunter2009(op): 4:48pm On Jul 26, 2023
Coup D'etat In Niger Republic, Why African Leaders Should Listen To Buratai's Postulations

An experience Army general is like a prophet who gives prophetic warning about security issues within and around the world. Truth, be told, The former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General TY Buratai Rtd is one of the seasoned army intelligence General the country has ever produced.

This is not unconnected to his timely report days back when he declared that it's high time African governments should classify military Coup D'etat as organized crime. His report came in handy with the ongoing reported coup d'etat in our neighboring country, Niger Republic. According to reports, Members of the Presidential Guard have detained the President of Niger, Mohamed Bazoum.

With this ugly, development, it's advisable that African leaders should take into cognizance the postulations of Buratai which he delivered on Tuesday, July 18th, 2023 in Abuja.

Here is the report:

Buratai Reveals Why He Agrees With President Tinubu To Classify Coup D'etat As Organised Crime

The former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General TY Buratai Rtd has corroborated the stance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the need for African governments to classify military coup d'etat in Africa as organised crime.

The former COAS , during his remarks at a conference organised by the Tukur Buratai Centre for Contemporary Security Affairs of the Igbinedion University, Okada,  themed, "Organized Crime Network as Emergent Threats to National Security,", stated that it is high time Nigeria and African leaders tagged coup as organised crime.

Buratai's call was in support of the call made by President Bola Tinubu, on Saturday, calling  on African leaders to respect democracy, rule of law, and ensure political stability.  The President who spoke in Nairobi, Kenya at a high-level event organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on the margins of Fifth Mid-Year African Union (AU) Coordination Meeting called on the United Nations to take firm stance against military coups.

"As you might be well aware, the theme of this conference is International Conference on Organized Crimes as Emergent Threats to National Security. The Conference is poised to be a crucial platform for addressing the grave challenges facing Nigeria and the countries in the Sahel. By focusing on the pressing issue of organized crime and its implications for national security, this conference aims to shed light on potential strategies and collaborative efforts that can be undertaken to tackle this growing menace," said General Buratai in his remarks.

He added that, "The gathering of experts, law enforcement agencies, policymakers, and scholars from around the globe will provide invaluable insights and knowledge exchange, ultimately equipping governments with the necessary tools to combat organized crime effectively. With Nigeria currently grappling with these emerging threats, the conference holds particular significance for the Bola Tinubu government, providing an opportunity to examine successful initiatives implemented elsewhere and adapt them to the local context. By fostering international cooperation and promoting information sharing, this conference can undoubtedly assist the Bola Tinubu administration in formulating robust policies that safeguard national security and ensure the well-being of its citizens...It is high time we also classify military coup d'etat in Africa as organised crime. "

Furthermore, Buratai revealed that the causes of organized crime in Nigeria, are undoubtedly multifaceted. One of the primary contributing factors is the existence of porous borders, which allows for the easy movement of criminals and illegal goods across national boundaries. Also, prolonged conflicts in countries like Somalia, DR Congo, Libya, Mali, Burkina Faso, and now Sudan have a direct impact on the rise of organized crimes. Additionally, the prevalence of poverty and unemployment within the region creates a desperate environment that can push individuals towards criminal activities as a means of survival. The influence of jihadist groups in the Sahel, who exploit vulnerable populations and use violence to achieve their agendas, also plays a significant role in fueling organized crime. Furthermore, greed and the pursuit of personal gain contribute to the proliferation of criminal networks, as individuals are enticed by the potential financial rewards. Lastly, the absence of effective law enforcement (police), weak deterrence mechanisms and weak governance structures further enable criminal organizations to operate with impunity.

Continuing, Buratai affirmed that, "the alarming reality of ongoing criminal activities, ranging from the illicit theft of about 500 barrels of crude oil on a daily basis to the calculated displacement of communities for the purpose of mining minerals cannot be ignored. These multifaceted crimes not only undermine the stability and well-being of affected regions but also perpetuate a cycle of violence and exploitation. These criminal enterprises not only rob our economy of legitimate growth and development but also inflict immeasurable harm on individuals and communities"

Therefore, he believed that the ongoing battle against organized crime requires a comprehensive and collaborative approach from law enforcement agencies, government entities, and the general public to protect the well-being and future of our beloved country.

The conference which was chaired by Lt. General AB Danbazau Rtd, former COAS. Other distinguished guests at the event include Mallam Nuhu Robadu, the National Security Adviser, Retired IGP Solomon Arase, representatives of the Chief of Defence Staff and the three services as well as heads of Immigration, Customs, NSCDC, the academia and the media.

Crime$87m Theft: Abayomi Remanded As Court Adjourn Till October by Hunter2009(op): 4:14pm On Jul 24, 2023
$87m Theft: Abayomi Remanded As Court Adjourn Till October

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Monday, July 24th, 2023 has adjourned the arraignment of Abayomi OluwaSesan and Onifade Adeniyi who were charged by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for gaining access to millions of subscribers’ investments at the Afriq Arbitrage Company online trading platform to October 9th, 2023.

They were accused of stealing, diverting and converting the sum of $87,883,904 (N75b based on black market rate) USD to personal use.

In the charge sheet with Suit No: FHC/ABJ/CR/289, the IGP’s lawyer, Wisdom Madaki charged the duo and others now at large on 10 counts bordering on cybercrime, money laundering and advanced fee fraud, allegedly perpetrated against the trading platform.

The police alleged they were able to commit the offence by fraudulently changing the ownership credentials of the Company’s Chief Executive Officer, Jesam Michael, among other things.

When the matter was called up before Justice Binta Nyako, the suspects lawyer raised the objection that they have obtained an injunction to contest the issue of their human right.

The honorable judge rhetorically asked him if the case is in Lagos why is he in the court room today?

The issue at the federal high court is not a human right issue but a criminal issue which supercede the so called objection raised by the suspects lawyer.

The honorable judge reminded him that he is not helping matter but that since that's what's he preferred, he should go to Algis court and sort our the issues first and come back to her court to continue the criminal case. She, however reminded him that the court won't be in session till October. Thus, she adjourned the case till October 9th, 2023.

It would be recalled that Abayomi Segun Oluwasesan, who was employed by his boss on the 15th of June, 2022 to work as a web developer, literally tempered with the platform at a time when his boss, Jesam Micheal went for a liver transplant and entrusted the codes to him.

Overwhelmed by greed, Abayomi who was entrusted with the sensitive data for the smooth operations of the company, engaged the services of his cohorts, disrupting the smooth operations of the platform and stealing hard-earned investors' money running into several billions.

Checks revealed that AAS is a global phenomenon with over 100,000 investors from over 75 counties. Thinking his employer, Jesam Micheal would not survive the operation, he withdrew several millions of dollars and became an instant rich dude with an astonishing flamboyant lifestyle overnight. His first criminal act was obtaining a Ghania passport which he used in acquiring other international residency and properties. He became the owner of a car dealership known as FIDORAY Autos and imported over 30 exotic wonders on wheels. He acquired Tanzanian and Dubai citizenship. Aside from that, he bought state-of-the-art properties in the UK, Dubai, Tanzania, and Nigeria.

One of the plazas he acquired in Lagos was to the tune of N450m, landed properties around Dangote refineries to the tune of N1b, and splashed a billion naira on the interior decoration of the Mesh 3-star hotel in Mainland, Lagos State.

A nobody Abayomi was travelling across the globe with investors' money on first-class tickets. His dubious activities literally crashed the lucrative platform on the 15th of May, 2023.

CelebritiesUsman: An Officer And A Gentleman by Hunter2009(op): 10:35pm On Jul 22, 2023
Usman: An officer and a gentleman

In Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman (Rtd), the Nigerian Army has produced a shining star – one with intellectual resources, a master of perpetual public relations. He’s a perfect example of a round peg in a round hole.
The first and only time I met Mr. Usman was at a public event in honour of leading Nigerian columnists, organized by The League of Nigerian Columnists in October 2021. As a former spokesman of the Nigerian Army, it was befitting for him to be the lead speaker, as the theme of the event was Security & Human Rights. Asides that, I have watched many of his interviews on TV.
His voice hardly rises more than a whisper. Audible but not loud. In other words: a measured voiced. He is not just a cool speaker or soft spoken, he personifies it. The cool, collected air about him as usual, makes you wonder what he was doing in military uniform.

At the event, the 56-year-old (now 58) spoke of a wide range of issues bordering on security and human rights. It wasn’t the regular boring speech that many public servants give. It had soul. You could tell he was a huge part in the speech writing and his thoughts were clearly reflected. I know this because I have read many speeches and listened to many speeches in my over 30 years of existence. I have also written several speeches for people. And like I mentioned earlier, I have listened to him several times on TV. And I know his world view.
Part of his statement read: ‘’Globalisation has further compounded the problems of states in guaranteeing the safety and security of the citizenry as there is a clash of western ideas and ideologies. Western values and ideas have overridden our societal values and thus heightened hopes and expectations. With this, things were expected to get better but could not because of neo-colonialism and capitalism.
‘’Therefore, the State finds it very difficult to respond to both, based on respect for human rights. Here, we have a situation where a system or community does not believe in a particular way of life, yet some citizens believe in it. Typical examples are homosexuality and lesbianism, which the Western world is trying to impose on Nigeria. Some are saying the countries are wrong. On the other side, the terrorists want to impose their religious ideologies. Therefore, the world is in a state of dilemma regarding ideas and ideologies competing with each other.’’
We are definitely on the same page in this regard.
Usman can easily pass for a scholar who was never part of the military when he speaks or writes. But when he begins to articulate his experience in the army, you would be amazed. He can be described as the best of both worlds. In other words, an officer and a gentleman. Born February 2, 1965, Mr Usman had his primary and secondary education in Kukasheka and Kafanchan, in Kaduna State, respectively. He joined the Nigerian Army as recruit in 1983 and was posted to Headquarters 82 Division Army Public Relations, Enugu.
Before he retired from the Nigerian Army in February 2019, he was the Director of Army Public Relations and Spokesman for the Nigerian Army for four years. While in service, he promoted hard work, dedication, professional excellence and changed the face of public relations practice and strategic communication in the Nigerian Army. He has set the bar very high for his successors.
How did he become the face of the Nigerian army? Well, it wasn’t without dint of hard work. It took him many years of preparation. He studied the courses required and he became qualified.
After a few years in the Army, he went to Bayero University Kano to study mass communications and was awarded a bachelor’s degree after four years, graduating in 1991.
He took public relations courses at different institutions and held positions as Army spokesperson at different commands within and outside the country throughout his career.
He holds a Master's degree in Media, Peace, and Conflict Studies from the United Nations Mandated University for Peace (UPEACE), San Jose, Costa Rica. He also attended the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, as a member of Senior Executive Course 40, 2018.
The former Army spokesperson has attended several professional courses, seminars, and workshops both within Nigeria and abroad in his remarkable military career. These include Senior Officers’ Spokesman’s Course at Joint Information Activities Group, Royal Air Force, Halton, London, the United Kingdom in 2015, Journalists Protection in Conflict Zone course at Hellenic National Defence General Staff Multinational Peace Support Operations Training Centre, Greece in 2016 and a 6-month Basic Arabic Course at the Nigerian Army School of Education (NASE), Ilorin in 1994.
While in the military, he served in various units and formations of the Nigerian Army and had two tours of duty on United Nations Peace Keeping Operations in Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, and Eritrea. He also held several command and staff appointments in various formations and units of the Nigerian Army, the last of which was, Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR).
Mr Usman was appointed acting spokesperson of the Nigerian Army on January 30, 2015, while a colonel. His appointment was confirmed in June 2017, months after he was promoted as a brigadier-general in December 9, 2016.
He has won several awards since his retirement from the Army in 2019. For aspiring officers across all security agencies, his remarkable story must be known. Not only for would-be officers but undergraduates who want to make a career in any field of endeavour as civilians. It is very important to tell stories like this, especially today when a lot of youth are seeking for shortcuts to success. There is no shortcut to success. Only hard work and consistency lead to success.
And the Kukasheka way is an enduring one. It is the best path to success.

Otunba Runsewe Preaches the Gospel of #PuttinNigeriafirst#

On Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at the Kapital Club in Asokoro, Abuja, an essential event took place, highlighting the urgency and importance of putting Nigeria first in these challenging social conditions. The event, organized by the National Council of Arts and Culture (NCAC) and hosted by its Director-General, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, carried the theme "puttingnigeriafirst."

Welcoming the diverse audience with warmth and gratitude for honoring the invitation, Otunba Runsewe began by stressing the need for unity. He urged everyone to rise above their differences - be it social, economic, religious, or ethnic - and unite to prioritize the nation's interest above all else. The essence of putting Nigeria first, he emphasized, lies in our collective efforts to address the issues facing the country and working together for a better future.

Drawing inspiration from a timeless quote by John F. Kennedy, Otunba Runsewe localized the message to Nigeria, encouraging citizens to ask themselves what they can do for their country rather than what their country can do for them. This selfless attitude, he believes, is vital for the progress and development of the nation.

In a show of national solidarity, Otunba Runsewe expressed his wish for all Nigerians to come together and support the government of the new President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, regardless of individual voting choices. This call for cooperation and backing of the elected leadership echoes the spirit of patriotism and the importance of a united Nigeria.

To emphasize the significance of unity, he recalled the great Nigerian political heroes who fought together for independence and liberation from colonial exploitation. Icons such as Nnamdi Azikiwe, Tafawa Balewa, Obafemi Awolowo, and Herbert Macaulay exemplified the power of collective action in achieving national goals.

In his passionate speech, the arts veteran called for an end to hate speech, destructive criticism, and unhealthy grandstanding along political, ethnic, and religious lines. He urged his countrymen and women to instead focus on constructive solutions that lead to economic liberation, enhanced security, eradication of corruption, and overall national growth and development.

It is worth mentioning that Otunba Olusegun Runsewe wears another significant hat in addition to his role as the Director-General of NCAC. He is also the President of the World Craft Council, a testament to his dedication to both Nigeria's cultural heritage and the global crafts community.

As Otunba Runsewe preached the gospel of #PuttinNigeriafirst#, he reminded everyone that the responsibility to uplift the nation lies with each and every citizen. By working together and prioritizing national interests, Nigeria can overcome its challenges and pave the way for a brighter future.

The one-day program hosted by Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, in collaboration with NCAC, was a resounding call to action. It served as a powerful reminder that unity, cooperation, and a collective commitment to #PuttinNigeriafirst# are the keys to unlocking the nation's true potential.

CrimeN87b Theft: Police Drags Lagos Big Boy, Abayomi To Court As Jesame Micheal Clear by Hunter2009(op): 2:24pm On Jul 19, 2023
N87b Theft: Police Drags Lagos Big Boy, Abayomi To Court As Jesame Micheal Clears The Air On AAS (Docs,Video)

Abayomi Segun Oluwasesan who defrauded his company, Afriq Arbitrage System was dragged to the Federal high court, Abuja today by the police on eight count charges including conversion of the sum of $87 million to himself. Abayomi along with his partner, Onifade Adeniyi were brought to court today.

Meanwhile, Jesame Micheal while addressing journalists at the court today clears the air on the issues. He denied the fact that the blockchain was hacked and also denied the allegation that he was wanted by the police.

“There are a few things I need to clear. There are rumours and false information out there that the AAS blockchain was hacked. That's not true. You can't hack a blockchain. He came up with the lie and I told him it's not possible because you can't hack a blockchain system. He only had access to it because the code was given to him. So he had permission, my face id, thumbprint, and other details I gave to him because I was so sick to the point of death and my survival was 50/50. So it's a lie by him that the AAS blockchain was hacked. That was the initial lie he came up with until I confronted him with the truth and when confronted by Interpol he confessed.. Out of his wickedness, He tempered with the boot. Remember we have three components that contained AAS. He only tempered with the boot and can't access the blockchain.

Thus, we had to rebuild the boot. We are done building back the book just reviewing. I love being sincere in whatever I do, we have to review them page by page to prevent crashing during trading. Once that is done and we have the green button pick-up, we will start immediately.

Lastly, don't fight or mind falsehoods flying about. No security agent is looking for me. I am everywhere on the street. Here I am and working hand in hand with all security agencies who have been so helpful to us to ensure the criminal was arrested”, he concluded.

It was a moment when the symphony of humanity reached its crescendo, as over 100 million Naira, equivalent to approximately $160,000.00, was presented to deserving children in need. These funds were raised during a remarkable birthday/charity dinner held on May 20th, 2023. The evening was hosted by the esteemed Grand Patron himself, Igho Charles Sanomi, a visionary whose philanthropic spirit knows no bounds.

As the ceremony unfolded, the spotlight shone upon each beneficiary, their stories etched in the hearts of all who bore witness. The symphony continued to weave its melody, as Idris Hamza, a 5-year-old with a tumor in his brain, was granted 11 million Naira, a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness. Yemisi Durojeye, a 9-month-old with a hole in her heart, received 16 million Naira, a gift that would mend her tiny heart and grant her a chance at a vibrant future. Abdul Salami, an 11-year-old burdened with a kidney infection, was bestowed with 9 million Naira, a lifeline to restore his health. Taiwo Adeyinka, a 13-year-old in need of chemotherapy and surgery, received 2 million Naira, a beacon of hope in her battle against illness.
Each gift, a symphony in itself, resonated with the promise of transformation. The generosity of Igho Charles Sanomi and the tireless efforts of GIPLC had created an orchestra of compassion, where the crescendo of hope drowned out the cacophony of despair. The lives of these children, once overshadowed by illness, were now illuminated by the light of possibility.
As the ceremony drew to a close, the echoes of gratitude reverberated through the hearts of all present. The beneficiaries, their families, and the entire community stood united in their appreciation for Igho Charles Sanomi and the Global Initiative for Peace, Love, and Care. Their unwavering commitment to uplifting the lives of Nigerian children in critical health conditions had left an indelible mark on the tapestry of humanity.
As this unique gala of compassion unfolded, Igho Charles Sanomi stood as the conductor, guiding the orchestra of love and care, even in his absence. He was present in spirit, ably represented by Nuhu Kwajafa, DG of GIPLC who presented the cheques to the jubilant families. His vision, his unwavering spirit, and his boundless generosity had created a harmonious melody that would forever resonate in the hearts of those touched by his kindness.
And these hearts encompass not just children but the whole gamut of humanity. Today, the beneficiaries are a gaggle of wide-eyed kids; tomorrow, a chorus of appreciative adults. The helping hands of Sanomi and his numerous philanthropic vehicles percolate through every corner of society, from raising over One Million Pounds for the Cancer Research UK supporting the Bobby Moore Bowel Cancer Research programs, to the phenomenal assistance of spinal corrective surgery and now a lifetime scholarship to Ali Ahmadu a Chibok child ran over by Boko Haram many years ago in Bornu Northern Nigeria, it goes further to multiple emergency intervention for Flood victims in the Niger Delta, implanting sturdy seeds of benevolence into sundry neglected soils at every step.

Sanomi's philanthropy is thus not a mere act of charity, but a profound expression of his humanity. His philanthropic endeavors are a beacon of light in the darkness, a reminder that each of us has the power to make a difference.
