*LAWYER DRAGS FG TO COURT, ASK THAT NDDC BE MOVED TO SGF OFFICE*


A constitutional lawyer and Human rights activist, Myson Adeyemi Nejo alongside an NGO have dragged the FGN to court over the movement of the NDDC back to the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).








This is against the backdrop of the fact that he had earlier written to Mr. Boss Mustapha, the SGF, on the same subject matter and got a reply that the matter is being looked into but not satisfied by the apparent slowness or lack of expedited action on the matter, has gone to court.














In a suit filed by their lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana SAN, they sought the intervention of the court to determine the legality of the transfer of the NDDC to the ministry of Niger Delta. In the originating summons made available to our source the Minister of Niger delta, The President of the Federal Republic and the Attorney General of the Federation were joined as defendants in the case. It was alleged that the transfer of the commission to the ministry of Niger Delta may after all be in breach of the Act setting it up.














This suit (FHC/ABJ/CS/111/2023), filed at the Federal High Court Abuja, if determined in the favour of the plaintiff would provide a more conducive framework for the present Board to operate and freedom from unnecessary interference which has been the bane of the commission in recent times and has bedeviled it various scandals.

Ms. Lauretta Onochie seems to be set at winning the battle against the vultures who have been feeding fat on the fortune of the people of the Niger Delta provided by the Federal Government through the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).














Sources close to the commission informed us that the ad hoc committee has looted resources of the commission such as motor vehicles and others assets in a very shameful manner, and are still bent on continuing to siphon monies meant for projects by the commission.


















According to our source, the new Managing Director was alleged to have colluded with a Governor of one the South East States to pay the sum of 25Billion to the State ministry of works to pursue political agenda which was disguised as funding for projects to be carried out in collaboration with the commission.


















However, in a successful bid to break the stranglehold of these vultures from the NDDC, the new board in spite of initial set back at their first meeting voted to confer on the Chairman the right to sign all Cheques of the commission before they are released from the coffers in order to curtail all forms of waste and underhand practices.














The board insisted that things would be done differently from now on because you can not continue to do things the same way and expect a different result.
In a boost of the position of the Board, Ms. Lauretta Onochie has been confirmed as the Executive Chairman of the board of the NDDC in a letter from the office Secretary of the Government of the Federation(SGF) and the NDDC has been moved back to the Office of the SGF from the Ministry of Niger Delta to ensure accountability. It is clear that the new executive Chairman is empowered and ready to replicate the kind of work that the late Professor Dora Akniyuli did at the National Agency For Food Drug Administration (NAFDAC) in her heydays.
















The support of stakeholders in the Niger Delta Region and indeed Nigeria will go a long way to help her deliver on the mandate of the NDDC in alleviating the infrastructural deficit of the region and better the lives of the people by insisting on getting value for the huge resources being expended by the commission. Nigerians have been perceiving the train attack threat but seems we are accepting the threat by not planning to avert futuristic occurrence as the Ministry of transportation should have declared a state of emergency on our railroad transportation system.
































We must spend time, applying techniques, integrating security design, and effective access control management systems to protect our critical Infrastructure as a country to avoid swift penetration of our critical infrastructure by criminal elements.






























Our security agencies are doing so well staking their lives for the survival of Nigeria. Our Response mechanism is fine, but it defeats the reason why we need security because security is defeated, after the occasion of the crime, hence proactive measures are best for security management as they prevent the loss of lives and property.


































The Nigerian Railway station should have carried out a postmortem analysis after the Kaduna train station attack, and assessed the situation to project reasonable security force to prevent future reoccurrence. They should not blame the Nigerian police or our security agent for the incidents in IGUEBEN, because they owe Nigerians the duty of care and must assess crime-prone areas of its facilities and proffer mitigation factors, and involved the police with its crime mapping report.
































The swift accessibility of critical infrastructure by criminal elements is a clear indication that our government does not integrate effective security design in its infrastructural developmental stages, we cannot continue to give this guy's swift opportunity to commit a crime without a swift response and proactive mechanism in place.




































The government holds Nigerians' duty of care whenever citizens are in its facilities and as such should be able to ensure the families of the victims do not pay a dime of the demanded ransom payment by those kidnappers. The government must rescue them swiftly.
































Let's be clear, crime can never be eliminated. We will all live with it till eternity, but the essence of crime prevention is to reduce the rate and possibly prevent its occurrence with a multidimensional approach.

Crime has been flo ishing in our land, simply because people commit a crime and go free without consequences. The essence of crime prevention is to delay, deter, detect, deprive and deny the criminal elements from committing such acts.


































Now, let's talk about the crime triangle. The CRIME TRIANGLE consists of three components: OPPORTUNITY, DESIRABILITY, AND AVAILABILITY. In every successful crime, there exists an OPPORTUNITY, this is the reason why we should not allow the criminal elements to exploit our vulnerability because your vulnerability is the criminals' Opportunity. That's why our security agencies need to close up every criminal opportunity.






































We should start looking more at delay mechanisms in the crime control approach. Criminals don't like delay, this stressed them out during operations, the criminal intent is to swiftly commit a crime and take a departure from the scene. Criminals don't like delay, give them that delay through layer protection in all our critical infrastructure.




































The major threat we are being faced with now is opportunistic crime, where innocent beautiful Nigerians run into crime in progress or are attacked daily. In the exception of opportunistic crime, criminals do carry out surveillance of their target, and as such counter surveillance is expected from us as citizens and a country.










































Kidnapping is on the high rise in Nigeria. Armed robbery is no longer invoked, most armed robbers have potted into kidnapping, why? Because the risk implications of the kidnapping are low compared to armed robbery. We have various types of kidnapping. We have high net worth kidnapping, express kidnapping, tiger kidnapping, political kidnapping, child abduction, etc. *Our government must lead by example by avoiding* political kidnapping. Unknown to the government each time you detained someone illegally and as well go against court orders to release such persons, refusing court orders and keeping that person is classified as political kidnapping.
For us to stop kidnapping, our political leaders must avoid corruption and diversion of public funds, create jobs, punish crime actors, robust education, good infrastructure, economic development, food security, agricultural development, and make the society a sane one.
































Government must stop *the CERTIFICATION OF CRIME*, and must not erroneously certify crime through the speedy projection of proclaimed REPENTANT TERterroristsd criminals back to society. These criminals have sent our beautiful officers and men to their early graves, and what parameters did our government use to measure their repentance? Was it during milthe itary high-fire bombardment that they could not withstand and surrender? Or during hunger in the bush, lack of escape route for them? Why project repentant terrorists to society swiftly? we must remember it is an ideologically driven war and such drives could last till eternity. I suggest that these criminals must be imprisoned and rehabilitated back into society.






























Let's talk about punishment. Punishment is a beautiful aspect of crime prevention. Punishment plays two roles which are specific and general deterrencperspectivesve. People must be punished for the crime they commit.




Anti Ransom payment laws by the federal government will not be effective as well, this is due to how vulnerable we are security-wise in our nation and so the crime rate would be very high








Government needs to know that they are the first victim of any terrorist act, the direct victims are the secondary victims from a criminology point of view. The essence of attacking government critical infrastructure is to shame and embarrass the government, so our government must rise to the task.







Our policing system needs to be urgently reviewed. We have been practicing a centralized policing system and that's why we always centralized our problem, we need to decentralize our Policing system. We borrowed our Constitutional system from the US but forgot to borrow their security system which is working perfectly for them.














Our security agent must carry out in-house cleansing to take out the bad agent that abuses the rmation management system. Nigerians must have trust in our security agents before they can pass vital pieces of information to them.












As a country, we must eliminate any risk that poses a threat to Syrian citizens.






























Our youth must also remember that Nigeria would be great again, they should abstain from crime, crime does not go to pa, and offense and puts you in a state of fear every day. stay off crime, develop your self and you will get there.

Politically, God will also raise up nobody's that will swallow the bigger one's.

For 2023, those of you following me from 2021, 2022 will attest to it that even before the primaries of the political parties, I said Wike is a factor and Tinubu too is a major factor. And you attest to what happened in 2022.

We have to pray not to have unnecessary drag of delay of announcement of the election  result.
Don't misquote me, the ruling party should not be over courageous because I see a fight of two lions amd a tiger especially in the gubernatorial elections of some states. There will be a win and gain here and a lost there. Concerning the presidential election,  I see the most criticised and hated candidate emerging winner under the permissive will of God.
Don't under estimate the Labiur party. 
I will mention these states and won't elaborate but we should just pray along as the election is under way- Kaduna state, Benue State, Plateau state, Enugu state, Abia State, Cross River and Oyo State. As the election goes, the parties holding those states should be prepared and not be over confident so that we won't have surprises.
States like Rivers, Lagos, i see those sitting on the seat retaining the seats. 
After the election  we have to pray that Nigeria will not experience battles and tensions. We should pray that the outcome of the elections should go down well with the players and the aggrieved ones should address it legitimately. 

Let's pray against fire Outbreaks in major markets in Nigeria.

Peter Obi must work hard on his security as a person before and during the election.

2023 will be a turning point for Nigeria after the election. Contrary to the prophecies being giving, Nigeria will gradually bkunced back irrespective of the tensions that will come during and after the elections. 

The new government that will come in will take drastic measures that will create tensions but it will lead to sustainable economic growth that will shock us.

There will be great exposure of secret that this current government which even Mr President might not know that his appointees have perpetrated. Its going to be a mystery. 

The CBN Governor should pray well because I see hard times are coming ahead of him.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will be released but he has to pray for his health. He has to pray even after his release...indeed the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.  He must fight to stay alive and think about his health. He still has a purpose to fulfil.
The voice of the Igbo man will be heard sometime, somehow on God's own calendar some day.
The APC presidential candidate will suggest sensitive betrayal. Its going to be a tough one but it won't change anything. 
Overconfidence is dangerous at times. God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wisdom  of the wise. Peter Obi is a man with a mysterious destiny but a prophet is without honour except in his own kindred. Mighty betrayal will come form quarters he least expected.  2023 is a year of mystery. Those you despise might be your helpers and those you are embracing might be the ones to betray you.
Governor Wike’s political destiny is not yet over. He will play a major political role in the destiny of this country. I am not  saying  this for enticement but the star is on his head somehow. He should watch over his health too and avoid being poisoned. Like I said, Wike is a factor...

Even after election, the winners should pray to enjoy their health and not be travelling constantly abroad for medical attention. 


Their is a spiritual curse on the seat of power of this country. There is a force that made men who have something tangible to do for this country to enter there and find it difficult to do anything. 

Most African countries should pray against attacks on their democracy. 

I see military interventions in most African counties between now and 2028. We should pray that our democracy should not be truncated. 

More scandals will rock some pastors. Some will be self inflicted and some manipulated by the enemies.

Between 2023 to 2026 another kind of epidemic will surface but it won't last. It will shake the system because they are signs of the end time.

There is a sensitive king in this country that needs prayers. 

Let's pray that the days of bomb blast won't come back mist especially after the elections.

The G5 governors expecially those of them still contesting should pray well to pull through in their bid to serve this country politically . I am particular about one of them. Sadly, their will be a crack among the G5. They will fall apart and it will be due to external forces. 


The political party this G5 will support will make a difference, don't undermine it.

The president of Russia,  Putin should pray concerning his health. I see a strong attack coming so that he won't be a vegetable while still on the throne. 
There will be relative peace between Russia and Ukraine this year. So many things will come to play this year and Ukraine will find back her life.



The Vatican, the Catholic should continue to pray for this great ministry.  There is still another kind of attack of their sensitive leaders between 2023 and 2024.

South Africa- The 2024 election will be serious and tough. The person there will narrowly escape...Julius Malema will become the president one day because the hand of God is upon him.


There will be revival back in South African church and fesh fire will rekindle the glory. The load shedding will get worse but God's hand is upon the country. 

Zimbabwe- The gospel fire will be massive. The current president will go to the polls and sustain his seats. But we pray for the economy to grow stoenger under his watch. 

Zambia- the president  will continue to deliver his electoral promises, the economy will wax stronger  but there are some mysterious enemies in the system who will want to thwart his plans. God will expose them to him. Please don't forget those who Labour for you before you attain the seat of power. 

South Sudan- it will wax stronger this year but their will be more battles on the economy but the Lord will sustain the country.

Like I said last years the president should continue to pray for his health so that people won't be fighting over his seats even while he is still alive.

Kenya- The president of Kenya will deliver his electoral promises gradually but he should pray against civil unrest that can do alot of harm to his current gains and plans for the country. He must be prayerful and sensitive he won't be poisoned and that he might finished well.


Uk- the new prime minister should pray too to finish his tenure. I see another shaking. UK should pray against senseless killing.



Gabon- the president should be prayerful. God is the giver of life and will keep him in good health. 
Let's pray for the month of July, August till October of this year for the country of Gabon.
Like I said between 2023-2027 in Nigeria many political cabals, strong men who are holding down this country will be called home. Some will be very sick, some will lose interest in politics,, others will retire or give way to others.  It will be battle between their lives and politics. I see a political revolution with a new breed of leaders that will rise up but the shift like I said we should watch out in 2031.
A new government will remove subsidy. Things will go high but at the same time things will finally fall In place . 
The next government is coming under the permissive will of God. Like others say, its a David but God told me its a Saul preparing a way for David.

Young ladies should be careful of hookups because there will be high rise of ritual killings this year.

The G5 governors expecially those of them still contesting should pray well to pull through in their bid to serve this country politically . I am particular about one of them. Sadly, their will be a crack among the G5. They will fall apart and it will be due to external forces.



The political party this G5 will support will make a difference, don't undermine it.


The president of Russia, Putin should pray concerning his health. I see a strong attack coming so that he won't be a vegetable while still on the throne.

There will be relative peace between Russia and Ukraine this year. So many things will come to play this year and Ukraine will find back her life.




The Vatican, the Catholic should continue to pray for this great ministry. There is still another kind of attack of their sensitive leaders between 2023 and 2024.


South Africa- The 2024 election will be serious and tough. The person there will narrowly escape...Julius Malema will become the president one day because the hand of God is upon him.



There will be revival back in South African church and fesh fire will rekindle the glory. The load shedding will get worse but God's hand is upon the country.


Zimbabwe- The gospel fire will be massive. The current president will go to the polls and sustain his seats. But we pray for the economy to grow stoenger under his watch.


Zambia- the president will continue to deliver his electoral promises, the economy will wax stronger but there are some mysterious enemies in the system who will want to thwart his plans. God will expose them to him. Please don't forget those who Labour for you before you attain the seat of power.


South Sudan- it will wax stronger this year but their will be more battles on the economy but the Lord will sustain the country.


Like I said last years the president should continue to pray for his health so that people won't be fighting over his seats even while he is still alive.


Kenya- The president of Kenya will deliver his electoral promises gradually but he should pray against civil unrest that can do alot of harm to his current gains and plans for the country. He must be prayerful and sensitive he won't be poisoned and that he might finished well.



Uk- the new prime minister should pray too to finish his tenure. I see another shaking. UK should pray against senseless killing.




Gabon- the president should be prayerful. God is the giver of life and will keep him in good health.

Let's pray for the month of July, August till October of this year for the country of Gabon.

Like I said between 2023-2027 in Nigeria many political cabals, strong men who are holding down this country will be called home. Some will be very sick, some will lose interest in politics,, others will retire or give way to others. It will be battle between their lives and politics. I see a political revolution with a new breed of leaders that will rise up but the shift like I said we should watch out in 2031.

Illegal Abortions: Report Vindicates Nigerian Army


A new report released yesterday by the Centre for International And Strategic Studies (CISS) has exonerated the Nigerian Army from the allegations of illicit abortion leveled against it by Reuters.
The news medium had claimed in its publication that the Nigerian Army had since 2013, “conducted a secret, systematic and illegal abortion programme in the country’s north-east, ending at least 10,000 pregnancies among women and girls who have been victims of insurgency.”
The report conducted in collaboration with the Coalition Of Civil Society Organisations On Rights And Security (CCSOHRS) described Reuters’ report as propaganda and slander against the Nigerian military.
It pointed out that the report by Reuters was a concerted effort designed to discredit the Nigerian Military.
It said it was time, therefore, for the Nigerian government and the Nigerian military, to follow up on the activities of NGOs in Nigeria, especially in the northeast zone.
The report read: “The report “Nightmare in Nigeria: A Conflict Waged on the Lives of Women and Children” by Reuters, against the Nigerian military is false and stands dismissed.
“The Nigerian military is a professional military that stands tall among the best militaries of the world. She understands the rules of engagement and in the fight against Boko Haram insurgency in the North East, the Nigerian military plays by the rules and has in no way, been found liable of any war crimes and crimes against humanity as alleged by Reuters.

“This will help checkmate and prevent their propaganda and slander campaigns against the Nigerian military. When all is said, it must be submitted that the Nigerian military has been very professional in the fight against Boko Haram insurgency and has not by any means, been found culpable.”
Soil Science Institute Trains Extension Agents, FarmersOnuminya Innocent in Sokoto
The Nigeria Institute of Soil Science (NISS) has been tasked to monitor the step-down training on its Updated NISSAGRO Mobile App nationwide, by the trained extension agents and farmers.
Managing Director of KNARDA, Dr. Junaidu Yakubu, stated this at a one-day train-the-trainers workshop for extension agents and farmers, including a cross-section of NISS staff.
The workshop was organized, in collaboration with ADPs, in the North-west geopolitical zone on the use of NISS AGRO Mobile App, Version 2.0, which was held in Kano.
Yakubu, who was represented by the Director Extension of KNARDA, Mr. Gambo Isa, commended the efforts of NISS in upgrading its App, Version 1.0 to 2.0, also tasked the participants to learn the App fully so that they will disseminate the information and train others on the new App.
The App that was developed by NISS is an online and offline agricultural one-stop shop, designed to collect and analyse data, proffer solution and give advice to farmers, extension workers, agro dealers and other stakeholders towards improving agricultural productivity.
The training, coordinated by Professor Nafiu Abdu of the Department of Soil Science, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, on behalf of NISS North-west Zonal Coordinator, Professor Samaila Noma, of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, has Aisha Buba from NISS Abuja, as the resource person.


Buba, who was assisted by other members of NISS, took participants on the background information of the upgraded version of the App, pointing out all the different components and special features added into the latest version.
According to her, “the NISS AGRO Mobile App, Version 2.0, is an upgrade on the pioneer 1.0 version, with contacts of registered soil scientists, information about latest agricultural techniques, more language selection beyond the major languages.
“It also showcased improved agricultural services already verified and satisfied by NISS. All that is required is a smartphone or an android enabled phone to download the app.”
She also explained the technical issues agitating the mind of the participants taking them through how to download the App, registration, log in and other relevant information about the App.
The gathering, however, demanded that more crops and publications in form of cartoons and local dialects should be added to the App.
A cross-section of the farmers and extension agents expressed their satisfaction and happiness on the improvement in the Mobile App and promised to step down the training to other members of farmer associations and groups.
Certificates of participation were presented to all the participants who expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Registrar and CEO of NISS for his foresight and dedication.

“We're told, a short time later, police got a call for a shooting at an L.A. hotel ... and they found Stephen there, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound,” the report stated.





His wife , Holker also added, "Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.



"Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you."



Stephen began DJing on Ellen's show in 2014 and stayed with her until the show ended in May 2022. In 2020, he was appointed as an executive producer on the show.



He got his big break in showbiz in 2008, when he finished second on "So You Think You Can Dance."



He went on to do some acting, landing several roles that allowed him to show off his dance abilities. Stephen played Jason in the 'Step Up' movie franchise, and he was also in "Magic Mike XXL.



Stephen hosted several reality shows, most notably "Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings," which he and Allison co-hosted on Disney.



The couple met while competing on the all-star season of "SYTYCD," and they married in 2013. Allison and Stephen had just celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary on Saturday.



They had three kids. Stephen was 40 years old.

Can We Meet You?

I am Okike Confidence, the Classic Queen international 2022 and the founder of Dovera Empire. I am from Ebonyi State and a 21 years old graduate from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. I am a fashion designer, a creative model an entrepreneur coach. I am a rotaractor and I have a strong passion for service to humanity.





Can you tell us how your journey into pageantry started?


My journey into pageantry started off when I was 14, before then I had always wanted to be on the spotlight, I’ve loved community service and everything that had to do with the pageant and modeling industry even tho I had little idea but I just knew it was something I had a strong passion for and wanted to venture into.
I first contested in a pageant competition in Ebonyi in 2016 where I didn’t emerge, and 3 years later I contested for Miss University of Nigeria Nsukka where I emerged one of the winners. 2019 I also won 2 other competitions, Miss Funfair Nigeria Tourism and Miss Rotaract.
It has really been s journey, not entirely a smooth one but one that has been filled with God’s grace and strength. This year 2022 I emerged the winner of Classic Queen International, World wide, and I’m most grateful for God, my family and all my supporters for being a great part of this journey.


How did you feel emerging Miss classic Queem International 2022?


I feel really delighted to have emerged as the winner of CQI 2022. It’s a platform that has stood the test of time, one that has been of great impact to the society and a reputable one and it is a thing of joy to part of this family.




What stands you out among others?


I believe we are all wonderful and unique creatures, nobody is lesser because we are created specifically for our own purpose and pursuit. But I know that stands me out is the fact that I have trained and prepared myself all over and all over for this particular position. Over time I have equipped myself and have groomed this leadership qualities and the experiences I’ve gathered has helped me learn and unlearn.
I understand that being the queen is not just a crown, but a responsibility that calls for change,
and service to humanity.



What are your source of inspiration?

My main source of inspiration is the amazing talents and souls that are being wasted daily because of lack of knowledge, awareness and information. I want to be able to be a source of value and help to my community and Society at large. Overtime I have been giving back to society by creating a system that helps harness entrepreneurship skills and talents and grooming people in the fashion business and it’s been a great innovation and i will like to extend this to even the less privileged, to help them see the future ahead of them and equally equip them with what they need to survive.




What are the challenges and how did you overcome them?


It might seem glamorous being a beauty pageant winner, but it is a title that comes with so much responsibilities. So far the only challenge is being able to combine both academics, family, personal goals, other responsibilities as well as keeping in touch with the community. They are all time consuming and for a person like me that runs a fashion academy where I train and manage people, All these can be really draining at times. However, I have found out that keeping a clear perspective about what is important and knowing that I get to participate in making a difference in the lives of people, keeps me going and always will.






What's the pet project you plan to work on as Classic Queen miss Africa?


My pet project would be Period poverty eradication and Vocational skill acquisition where I would visit different communities to pad every girl child there and create structures to equip youths with skills that’ll help them make an impact in the society





What's the secret of your success?


The secret to my success is God and an expanded capacity.





Who is your mentor or role model in pageantry


I have been inspired by a lot of outstanding queens such as Queen Odillinna, Queen Dorcas Dienda, Queen Liana Okereke, But I would say I am most fascinated about Queen Mavis Aruma. She has a great and endearing personality and a beautiful soul. She is my role model.

On Monday, December 5th, 2022, the Nigerian Army gave him a special recognition award.


Interestingly, the Special Recognition Award by the Nigerian Army to Lt Gen TY Buratai Rtd CFR, former Chief of Army Staff and former Nigerian Ambassador to Benin Republic. Award was presented by President Muhammadu Buhari President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria at the ongoing Chief of Army Staff's Annaual Conference 2022 in Sokoto.

CSOs raises alarm over plot by foreign media to demonise Nigerian Army






Coalation of Civil Society organizations, Civil rights advocacy group, Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) have raised alarm over an alleged plot by some foreign media to rubbish the image of the Nigerian Army in its fight against terrorists in the North-East of the country.











HURIWA National Coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko, at a press briefing on Friday in Abuja, said coalition of civil society organisations drawn from various parts of the country is fully aware of the alleged plans by some western media to demonise the Nigerian Army by churning out fake reports that may dampened efforts to root out Boko Haram and other terrorists from Nigeria.







His words : “We want to first and foremost let you know that this briefing session is completely our independent initiative in our capacity as a coalition of Nigerian civil society organizations who have no political affiliations but are passionate about achieving just and equitable development in our dear country.
As you all may be aware, our coalition is a team of professionals who have come together to advance the single agenda of building a formidable and economically strong united Nigeria.









THE ISSUES
As you all are aware, Boko Haram and ISIS-West Africa attacks against government and security forces and civilians in Northeast, Nigeria have resulted in deaths, injuries, abductions, and the capture and destruction of property.
Worrisome is that the Boko Haram attacks did not discriminate between civilians and government officials, whereas ISIS-WA generally, but not always, focused attacks on government and security forces.
The implementation of the Nigerian military’s “super camp” strategy, which began in 2019, was designed to stem losses when terrorists overran forward-operating bases.  As a defensive military strategy, the decision to consolidate the posture into super camps is working.





Sadly, some foreign media elements, fanning the embers of hatred against the Nigerian Army are peddling false or exaggerated accusations supposedly to weaken the Nigerian Army and help arms supplies to sell more weapons to terrorists.

Also, they are accusing the military of decimating children of Boko haram fighters and are saying they will file a petition to the ICC.

We, the Coalition of Civil Society organizations are very concerned about Reuters as a foreign media plotting to circulate the story which will undermine Nigeria’s national security.
Gentlemen recall that during the missile incident that killed two people in Polish territory on Tuesday, November 15th, 2022, Reuter quickly sent out an unverified story accusing Russia of being responsible. However, it turned out that they were missiles fired by Ukraine to stop Russian bombs.
The report nearly made NATO begin a World War against Russia, as the incident in Poland; a NATO country prompted ambassadors from the US-led military alliance to hold an emergency meeting in Brussels.
Reuters reportedly later fired the reporter when NATO scientists confirmed it was a Ukrainian bomb, not a Russian. This is worrisome as the trend to publish stories without thinking of their impact is still what the media outfit is planning to do.
Many foreign media have shifted to a point where they want to publish stories that sell, looking at how much they will get out of the story without minding more about who is affected or who is not affected. That is why you find many of them sensationalize issues instead of reporting for the good.


Also, permit me to draw a comparison on the troubling equation, implicating news media – both within Rwanda and internationally – in the genocide. In looking back on this period, it is important to examine the role of domestic hate media and international media.
As uncomfortable as this connection may seem, we cannot separate the two. We are looking at the role of the media, the power of its message, and the impact of an information vacuum.
There is a considerable and growing body of literature on the Rwanda genocide in general and the role of the media in particular.
The use of propaganda leaflets and radio messages was a key tool in procuring the compliance of Hutus to participate in the massacres, including those initially against the killings.




Propaganda alluded to the rewards participants would receive for killing Tutsis. These messages reinforced impunity and provided the killers with the legitimacy to kill Tutsis and the moderate Hutus who often tried to protect them.
Those Hutus who fled Rwanda after the genocide were often pushed into doing so by fear-filled propaganda, which was arguably aimed at increasing the number of refugees, who would then be seen as victims by the international community.
Strikingly, whilst Burundi’s Hutu President was also killed, the Burundi media worked with the UN and domestic officials to broadcast a message of calm, averting atrocities on this occasion. This emphasizes propaganda’s influence in spurring the Rwandan genocide.

Propaganda alluded to atrocities committed by the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) which in turn contributed to notions that atrocities were the result of renewed warfare, ethnic tensions, or simply ‘chaos’.
Indeed, French media portrayed the events as a “two-way genocide” and French troops were led to believe Hutus were victims of the conflict, just as Reuters is trying to portray the terrorists as victims rather than villains.

Examining the way journalists and news organizations conducted themselves in 1994 is not just a historical exercise.




Sadly, the international community does not yet seem to have fully discerned or absorbed the lessons from Rwanda.

OUR POSITION

The Nigerian Army deserves the gratitude and commendation of the nation and the international society, not this sinister plot by Reuters to distract and weaken efforts in the fight against terrorism.
Again, the sponsors of this campaign of falsehood and calumny must not be allowed to achieve their evil plans. If we sit back and fold our arms whilst this evil is allowed to fester, then we will be shooting ourselves in the foot destroying the achievements the Nigerian Army has made so far against terrorism.
Gentlemen of the media, we are by this statement calling on the Nigerian Government to warn against foreign media stoking embers of hatred against the Nigerian Army. Reuters is on the vanguard of destroying the credibility of the Nigerian Army with unsubstantiated propaganda, which is enough to undermine our national security.

The Media were used in Rwanda to spread hatred, dehumanize people, and even guide the genocidaires toward their victims. The tension between the two groups existed for decades, but what was a protracted social conflict morphed quickly into a genocide with significant assistance from the media.
Three journalists have even been found guilty of genocide, incitement to genocide, conspiracy, and crimes against humanity by the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.
We must find a way to respond to such abuses of power without violating the principles of freedom, which are an indispensable cornerstone of democracy.

Propaganda plays an active, supportive role in facilitating the atrocities, as well as an influential role in establishing the pre-conditions for mass killings.
The lessons for international society are twofold. Whilst a free press is a sine qua none to hold those in power accountable and represents the very foundation free societies rest upon, it needs to be emphasized that freedom comes with responsibility.
The abuse of the freedom of speech to create division through hate speech, and unsubstantiated accusations that in turn lead to large-scale violence is an indicator of an arising conflict.
The sponsors of this campaign of calumny against the Nigerian Army need to be identified and acted upon. We, therefore, call on international society to increased pressure in halting such propaganda.



Successive Chiefs of Army Staff and especially Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai during his 5 year stint, did a lot to mainstream promotion and protection of human rights in the daily operations of the Army.
Beyond this, upon assumption of office, Buratai and his Principal Officers monitored issues on allegation of human rights abuses against troops deployed for operations across the country in line with the President and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces’ mandate in the fight against terrorism. Again, through the establishment of Human Rights Desk Offices in the Army headquarters and across the Nigerian army divisions, the Army could address petitions and other different claims against it. This move, borne out of the increasing interest of the local and international human rights bodies on what Nigerian Army is doing in the North-East and and other parts of the country, to many human right analysts, marked a departure from the old order when the Military was on the defensive whenever allegations of human rights violations were leveled against it.
Incidentally, while commissioning the human rights office at the Headquarters of 7 Division Nigerian Army in Maiduguri, Buratai noted that the establishment of the desk office was borne out of the increasing interest of local and international rights bodies on what the army is doing in the North-East and other parts of Nigeria. His words: “The Nigerian Army is trying to open up the system and close the gap with the civil populace, human rights bodies and Civil Society Organizations; the nature of inquiries, commentaries, and claims from these institutions requires a professional and specialized response by the Nigerian Army. What we are witnessing today has been facilitated by the Nigerian Bar Association and National

National Human Rights Commission”, he added.

The Military–Media–Public Awareness Programme noted at an event, with CLEEN foundation at Jabi Motor Park, Abuja, that “the army is passionate about the rights of civilians and had measures in place to ensure that rights of civilians are protected. These measures included the opening of Free Toll Line 193, designated Toll-Free Call Centre and Public Complaints Rapid Response Unit. The offices and the toll line 193 are opened to members of the public whose rights have been infringed upon; they can always walk in to the office and lodge their complaints. So, the Army is doing its best to ensure that they respect the rights of the civilians. We assure them that once they come to us they protected their rights and we do our best to serve them better”.



There were many more efforts under Buratai to protect human rights, especially on the abuse of detainees because of the poor state of the detention facility in Giwa Barracks Maiduguri, in the areas of poor sanitary condition/ventilation, overcrowding and irregular water supply. He remarkably commissioned 400 capacity Joint Investigation Centre and Detention Cells for Boko Haram suspects in Maiduguri, in 2018, and the facilities were built with heat and odor extractor, coupled with constructed borehole to enable detainee’s access to water. He had then argued that “this modern facility will go a long way in changing the narrative in the criticism of the Nigerian military. It is a clear sign we welcome positive criticisms to see where we can improve on it, and this is what we have showed here.



Buratai’s leadership approved the commencement of the construction of additional holding facility to improve the management of detainees during investigations. At the foundation laying ceremony, he stated that the ongoing counterterrorism and counter-insurgency operations in the North East, has made it mandatory for arrest and detention of suspected insurgents who must be properly taken care of under international best practices while in custody. He stressed “the quest for a functional transit safe holding and detention facility, with adequate sanitary conditions for the effective management of suspected Boko Haram Terrorists for further investigation activities, is the driving force behind the execution of this project by the COAS” The soldier then added: “It shows the compliance of the NA with global best practices. This will further strengthen the cooperation between the army and stakeholders, especially in the management of suspects undergoing investigation”.



There was also the establishment of a Special Board of Inquiry by the COAS to probe alleged cases of human rights violations leveled against the Nigerian Army personnel, especially in the ongoing counter terrorism. According to him, despite the success recorded by troops in the ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the North East, some individuals and organisations had expressed concerns, alleging misconduct and human rights abuses by personnel of the army, “especially in the early days of the counterterrorism and counter-insurgency operations. The board was, therefore, set up to investigate the matter and establish the true situation of the allegations.



The then Chief of Army Staff said that the board was set up in line with the provision of Section 172(1) of the Armed Forces Act CAP A20 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. Buratai, however, called on the board not to probe or revisit cases of abuse that had been investigated by state governments or the National Human Rights Commission. He also urged members of the board to justify the confidence reposed in them as they were selected based on competence and merit to serve. He added: “I implore you to leave no stone unturned to come up with a report that will explain the facts to all and assist the Nigerian army in taking appropriate actions”



In addition, there were regular, timely and effective enforcement of extant rules/application of sanctions to human rights violators as a way of the Nigerian Army in curtailing human rights abuses by its personnel. Under Buratai, any confirmed case of rights infraction was met with maximum punishment. This way, human rights abuses were also drastically curtailed in the Nigerian Army. All these where deliberate efforts by the Nigerian Army under the leadership of Buratai to eliminate rights abuses by its personnel.


More so, while Buratai held sway, the Nigerian Army ensured that they assigned all cases pending in civil court against it to competent registered Nigerian Army external advocates or military lawyers in the Directorate of Legal services. Court-Martial cases or trials in the field where also given professional attention by deploying legal officers, who are not only trained military personnel, but legal practitioners. This is in furtherance of the fact that the Nigerian Army as an institution is guided by legal advice in sustaining its flexibility in the conduct of its operations, which was being adequately acknowledged within the nation and the comity of other nations. Adherence to the rule of law was consistent with Buratai’s vision to have a professionally responsive Nigerian Army in the discharge of constitutional roles. For all these, therefore, there is no gainsaying the fact that the transformation of the Nigerian Army rapidly manifested under the leadership of the Chief of Army Staff; Lt. Gen Tukur Yusuf Buratai (Rtd), who was proactive in the war against terrorism despite efforts by moles and saboteurs embedded within the Army. These moles were derailing the objectives of the counter Terror War and alleging lack of respect for fundamental human rights.
Perhaps, those still unconvinced of the exceptional transformational measures contrived in repositioning to the Nigerian Army for effective counter-insurgency, and the productivity of maintaining military–Civil relationship practices may be poor adherents of history or have a faulty retentive memory. Not too long ago, as part of the activities marking the 2020 Nigerian Army Day Celebration together with its Cooperate Social Responsibility, Troops of the 7 Division Maiduguri conducted sanitation exercise along Baga road market, Maiduguri town in Borno State, while the newly built Camp Delta Force Quick Reaction Base was commissioned to enhance quick response of troops to terror activities in the communities.
Unequivocally, the allegations of human rights abuses against the Nigerian Army, particularly in the conduct of counterinsurgency operation where issues of great concern to TY Buratai, who ensured that they took various actions to guarantee that rights violations by Nigerian Army personnel are fully curtailed. Instructively, the three key concepts prevalent in the ex-COAS; Lt Gen TY Buratai’s vision for the Nigerian Army where Professionalism, Responsiveness and Working within the ambit of the Constitution of Nigeria, signifying an excellent Civil–Military Relations anchored on adherence to the Rule of Law and Respect for Human Rights are necessary

to the attainment of the vision. Remarkably, before he left office early this month, there was a serious reduction in the reported cases or accusations of human rights violations against the Nigerian Army. No wonder he was recently appointed Ambassador-Designate by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Therefore, we urge the current CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF to note that it is important that some of these significant approaches introduced as aforementioned towards improving the consistent dialogues between the Army and the civil society and the then Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai are adopted by the current hierarchies of the armed forces of Nigeria if the military ever hope to win the hearts and minds of the people of Nigeria.”

When engaging some respected online platforms, Vivian denounced Philips Anochie and his mushroom online attempting to blackmail by going round the social media/online platforms credited to the Man Of God, with his wrong notion/perceptions towards the great man of God. It really shocked me , when I was reading Anochie's purported allegations over an innocent man of God. Besides; I wondered how could a sane person would concluded within himself by saying Dr. Chris Okafor's message was actually directed to him if he hasn't been perpetrated evil on us which was purely exposed.

Should I just concluded that the worrisome, confusionist irresponsible husband, Philips Anochie might have something against prophet Dr. Chris Okafor or might be looking for a cheap social media publicity or might be looking for away to extort the innocent man of God. No way he can achieve this as a lazy man.

In essence, that would also explain why the leadership of Project Niger Delta, PND, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for heeding the calls of the good people of the Niger Delta. That is precisely so in the recent nomination of men and women of proven integrity to constitute the substantive board of the controversy-riddled Niger Delta Development Commission,NDDC. Good enough, this falls in tandem with the Act setting up the CommissionNiger-Delta Development Commission (Establishment etc) Act 6 of 2000 as part of the Laws of the Federation of Nigeria.
It would be noted that in spite of the barrage of verbal attacks that have trailed her commitment to sanitizing the New Media, which she has been spearheading as the Senior Special Assistant to Mister President she has remained resolute. She has therefore, acted as a beacon bearer against the dark background of unproven innuendoes and insinuations, even from some of her own Niger Delta people.








On the other hand, some others, like members of PND recognize her worth. What that implies or the point it proves is that President Buhari has made this rare appointment beyond loyalty, to competence. In fact, as the PND group rightly noted, the inauguration of the substantive board of the commission was long overdue. Onochie’s appointment has therefore, revived the hopes of the people of the oil-rich region that the lost glory of the commission will be restored under her able watch.






Interestingly, Onochie, once approved by the Senate is coming as the fifth chairman of the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the first woman to do so. That is history in the making.






Her appointment is coming some three years after the last chairman of the board, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba was dropped by the president on January 25, 2019. The senator was appointed in 2016.






It is also on record thatOnochie was a national commissioner nominee of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) but was rejected because her state, Delta had already produced a commissioner in the electoral body.







In retrospect, the NDDC was established in 2000 by the administration of former President OlusegunObasanjo, to fast-track the development of the oil rich Niger Delta region.
The past chairmen of the NDDC board were Chief OnyemaUgochukwu from Abia State and Air vice Marshal Larry Koinyan (rtd) from Bayelsa as well as Senators Ewa-Henshaw and Victor Ndoma-Egba, all from Cross River State.
In a letter addressed to the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, Buhari also announced the nomination of 15 others as NDDC board members.







It would be recalled that in September 2008, President UmaruYar’Adua(of blessed memory) announced the formation of a Niger Delta Affairs Ministry. The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) became a parastatal under the ministry.







One of the statutory functions of the commission is for human capacity development- to train and educate the youths of the Niger Delta region. The objective is to curb militancy and the attendant destruction of lives and property, whilealso developing important infrastructure to promote diversification and productivity of the region’s economy.







Similar to PND, the Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) has praised the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint LaurettaOnochie as chairman of the NDDC board.







Also appointed as acting executive director, Finance and Administration of NDDC is Chris Amadi, while Samuel Adjogbe, an engineer, becomes acting executive director, projects.
According to MOSIEND president, Kennedy Tonjo West, because Onochie has worked closely with Buhari, he has no doubt that Onochie will implement the president’s vision for the Niger Delta.







West said: “I think this is the first time we are having a woman as chairman of the board. It is a novel idea. But first, she is an SA (special assistant) to the President and she is doing her job. And the kind of job as an SA, she will definitely do what her boss says.







“If you have put that as a yardstick, then, I am quite sure that was what had endeared her to her boss for being thorough and resolute when it comes to her job.




“Coming back as a chairman, she is a Niger Deltan, she has equal right like every other person that should be nominated. I think the National Assembly should expedite action in giving her the pass to come and serve.”








In a similar vein, the National Coordinator of PND, Comrade PrincewillEbebi in a statement in Yenagoa, the group is convinced that with LaurettaOnochie and Chief Samuel Ogbuku as Chairman and Managing Director respectively, the narratives of the board will change for good.
Ebebi said: “We believed that having duo as the Chairman and Managing Director, the Niger Delta will witness the needed transformation especially now that the pains and agonies running through the heart of people after the calamitous flood disaster that has destroyed the livelihood of the people.










“We charge them to bring their wealth of knowledge to bear in the lives of our people and change the narrative of the current dwindling status of the oil-rich region. We congratulate Mrs. LaurettaOnochie and Chief Dr Samuel Ogbuku and others for their well-deserved appointment to move the Niger Delta forward”.
Though some may view her current nomination for the NDDC headship as a form of compensation for her travails since she was turned down by the Senate for the INEC job, people should not lose sight of the fact that had she betrayed the cause she stood by, the pendulum of the appointment would have swung otherwise. That reminds us of Benjamin Disraeli’s statement that: “The secret of success is constancy of purpose”.

Widows, orphans, and the physically challenged were all part of this great show of love. As God's Oracle PAPA JOSHUA IGINLA ensured thousands of homes were reached.



At first, 11,000 bags were distributed, but the crowd kept increasing, and out of compassion and love God's General asked for 14,000 additional to make a sum of 25,000.

Internationally acclaimed legend and former Chief of Army Staff, Amb. Lt Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai (CFR) has urged support for his great party, All Progressives Congress, and their Presidential Candidate, Ashiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu.


Buratai made the call on Thursday, November 24th, 2022 while receiving a prestigious Award of ‘Philanthropy per Excellence’ from the National Forum of Ex- Councilors of Nigeria in Gora, Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa.
He said the call was premised on the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration in different fronts, adding that there was need for continuity to make Nigeria great.
Buratai said the recent discovery and commitment of drilling of oil in the North East and redesigning of the Naira notes were some of the commendable achievements of the administration.
He said there was need to have the right leadership that would continue with the transformational legacy of Buhari’s administration, adding that the administration had also done well in the area of infrastructure and security.
“This is a political season. The time for nominations and other pre-election activities have been conducted and now is time for campaign and I know you come from different political parties, not a single party.
“But you know where the country is heading to, you know what President Buhari has done for this country, especially the successes we have achieved from 2015 to date.
“The President has been instrumental to the strong leadership and his commitment and the will to see that the country is secured, free from corruption and also develop and progress in terms of its economic development.”
According to him, the political terrain is still very much dynamic and as such, we ensure that we have the right people in leadership to be able to come into power and get our country the better footing as we grow.
“Well, you know my standing. President Buhari who has been a great mentor, who has brought me to limelight, belongs to a particular party, the APC.
“So, I will not shy away from saying that that is the party to go and I believe things will be better for the foundation that Buhari has laid and will be sustained.
“We have received assurances from Tinubu. So by and large, I believe Nigeria has a great future and will do a lot to ensure that we continue to support the present government and the next government that will be coming.
“For now, we have a course as we move to the 2023 general elections to get the right party, the right candidates for them to be in power, that will be a continuation of what the President has left,” he said.
The former army chief and former ambassador thanked the forum for recognising his efforts while in service and pledged to continue to support the vulnerable and the less privileged in the society which he has been doing even before he became the Chief of Army Staff.
He said that a lot had been done to uplift the living conditions of people at the grassroots and still continuing, saying the award was a true reflection of what Buratai is and what he stood for.
According to him, It is a great honor to him and his family and to the military in general, including the defence correspondents that were with him in the fields as army chief.

The President of the forum, Mr Awwal Hassan said it was the first time they would be giving out such award to a former service chief, adding that Buratai earned the award because of his achievements in office, leading the counter-insurgency war from the front.
Hassan said the former COAS also stood out among his contemporaries in the area of philanthropy for helping a lot of vulnerable people in the society in the area of empowerment and education support.
The Vice President of the forum, Mr Ismaila Mumin said the forum of ex-councilors is a non-governmental organisation floated and organised by some concerned youth activists to foster unity in diversity and cordial understanding among the teaming youth in the country.
He said the organisation has vibrant and functional structures in the 774 local government areas of Nigeria to sensitise and mobilise the youth to promote peace and peaceful co- existence in their respective areas among others.
He said the governing body of the forum decided to give the prestigious award of Excellence as philanthropist per excellence for 2022 to Butatai on the basis of his many records of achievements.
“Our decision in this respect is in line with the teaching in our national anthem that the efforts of our heroes should not be allowed to go in vain,” he said.
He urged Buratai to be ready to vie for political office in future, saying the nation was in need of his experience and patriotism

Wife of Lecturer who accused Pastor Chris Okafor of destroying his family seeks divorce

university lecturer who accused accused the Senior Pastor of Grace Nation International, aka Liberation City, Chris Okafor, of keeping his wife and children away from him, has said his wife filed for a divorce.

It will be recalled that The Eagle Online had reported in October 2022 the out cry of the lecturer, Philip Anochie.

He noted that trouble ensued in his home after Okafor prophesied that he (Philip) plans to make his daughter mad.

The All Progressive Congress (APC)’s Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu has commended the former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and former Nigerian Envoy to the Republic of Benin, Lt-Gen TY Buratai (rtd), on his commitment to maintaining the territorial integrity of Nigeria during his time in service.






The APC presidential candidate, Tinubu, gave this commendation while giving a remark at the public presentation of the animated version of “Legend of Buratai” on Tuesday in Abuja.

Ambassador Olukayode Aluko, former deputy of the Nigeria Mission in Benin Republic to Ambassador Tukur Yusufu Buratai (CFR) has been appointed as Nigerian Ambassador to the French-speaking West Africa Country.





Congratulating Aluko, Ambassador Buratai (CFR) who served as Benin Republic Ambassador from February 4, 2021, till November 2022 as well as Nigerian Chief of Army Staff between July 2015 and 2021 and retired as Lieutenant General, extolled the virtue of President Muhammadu Buhari who intelligently picked Aluko as his successor.
