ConnectMee: Rest bro!
Even the British (100% white Caucasians) do this Care work for years, make careers outta it and retire in it. So who are you?
Why look down on an honest hustle that pays one’s bills? Thank God for Support Work. It was from this hustle I got money to balance my tuition and even bring in my family.
I am currently on this Care job when I got my digital marketing job. And guess what, I am not leaving Care job despite having another.
You don’t pay anyone’s bill. You have no right to look down on their hustle as long as it is not illegal. Shalaye FC |

Taal17: It's funny you mentioned other immigrant visa categories IR have moved from a typical 6month wait pre COVID to a now a two year wait. And IRs don't have visa limits
F1, F2A F2B,F3,F4 which have visa number limts are getting 2years wait even when they are DQ and priority date has passed. And these categories already wait 6-20years based on their queue before they can even get to NVC stage to submit docs.
Embassy won't treat Immigrant Visas at Abuja it's their policy . Highly improbable that will change. It's been that way for decades Is the slow wait time typical? Does it happen in the UK? |

I meet an admiral (Italian) but also a British citizen about a week ago and he wants me to go with him for holiday.
He also wants to pay my balance tuition worth £14500, he took me to see some of his restaurants in Brighton and also to see his house located at Brighton Marina and other properties.

Progressivegee: Just look at how you are ranting
Same person denying that no one has ever said care work is useless is now here spewing trash about the care profession. Is this not hypocrisy at its peak? Even nurses give bed pan to patients and do assist carers in attending to difficult residents. So nurses shouldn't work in a care facility as well?
A carer's role isn't all about personal care. Carers also give medication and many also learn to prepare care plans which is essential to becoming a manger or getting a more senior role.
You should be the one crying not me. You wey dey hustle factory work that breaks back, yet you spew trash about other people's job. If the people you know are stuck in care jobs for 7 years with no growth, its your damn business. It isn't surprising after all, all of una na hustlas as your moniker implies. People I know who started from care have risen to become care managers and owners of care companies. They earn very well and have huge investments both in the UK and Nigeria.
So focus on your lebuke or offloading of trailers and let others be. In a couple of years, they would have earned transferable skills for other roles outside care or would have grown in their profession while chilling as Permanent residents and you with your broken back from your lebuke will be hustling from one company to another for sponsorship.
Awon evidence crew, here you go Didnt read all you wrote but good luck with whatever it is |

Progressivegee: @ Viruses here is your proof If you like, cry from now till tomorrow, except for those who came on COS visa, no Nigerian with a MSc degree should be aspiring to do care and clean someone's behind for 7 years...as a hustle to gather fees, maybe YES.. but for 7 yrs? If your mindset is stuck on doing care for 7 years, thats up to you... the problem definitely isnt me The point is that care is not the only means to an end; there is construction and the likes. Even in care, you can upskill (NVQ etc) and get to managerial positions or go on to clinical ones / nursing etc but thing is, lots of people do not upskill and remain stuck in that care home mindset for years on end, not moving up, not moving down. I have met lots of people like that Everyone should take advice as they see fit. I was on the student thread a while ago when justwise was advising students to plan ahead for fees and settling in. The same students who were arguing and insulting justwise got into the UK and started defaulting on fees, getting withdrawn from school, etc Another one now is rent money being dead money, which to someone who thinks deep is reasonable... but given circumstances of. status etc, it may take a while to get to the mortgage level but still .... na vex and argument Last last, everyone with what they like Jah epp us all |

Viruses: Exactly o.
The inappropriate terminology I remember was used is "shit pay' and the person clarified that they were just trying to encourage people that they can do better.
Justwise is saying people have said severally that it is a useless work. Now na, no evidence. Well, the way people interprete things differ. Care to me is one kain cos I know for sure no one left Nigeria with a degree and wants to clean someone else's poo for 7 years Individual interpretation of Lexusgs430's rent money is dead money also is seen from different perspectives. I mean someone is on the other page dragging him for saying people should try to get on the property ladder as soon as possible |

Far as I know, no one denigrated care work; we just say its too stressful for the pay it offers (99% of the time). Most people have said you can get NVQs and upskill even within the care work or work within MH support within the NHS instead of the one that involves personal care (which is somehow to be honest) There are better jobs out there if we can stop the care work fixation with care work is all that has been said Plenty fight and back and forth over this is not necessary Shalom |

missjekyll: I mean being numerous cannot get you the education and influence needed to build generational wealth now , can it?
Its determination on the part of the immigrant teacher or careworker( which are not massively well paid jobs although very necessary) to send their children to good schools from where they can get better jobs. Thats how it builds. True |

missjekyll: I noticed a note of indiaphobia creeping into this thread. I work with loads of Indians and have found them to be made up of the good, bad and ugly. Like literally every human being on earth. If they seem more in number and more prosperous, it's because they started emigrating before Africans and are now well into the 4th generation of British-Indians.
We should study them so that in our 4th generation, we too will have a UK PM of Nigerian origin and wield tremendous economic and political power. Well, from the Qs I have seen, Its not Indiaphobia; people are just curious as to why they are dominating in most countries Their numbers largely help them, along with the kind of community they have I really don't see Nigerians being like them in the UK in the next several hundred years. For one, our numbers don't match up (doesn't mean a Nigerian cant be MP but more numbers mean someone is more likely to get there). I mean, people were encouraging others to aim higher for better job positions and others were snickering and bashing those trying to encourage them I pray we get there though |

Zahra29: Speaking about these 2 rape cases involving Nigerians does not mean that every Nigerian man is being painted with the same brush. It's an important discussion to be had because who knows how many people have gained insight on what is considered inappropriate sexual behaviour in UK/Europe. Even just being aware of the serious consequences is enough to make some think twice or more. You probably arent seeing what Im seeing on Twitter |

Just tired of the whole stereotype even though the offender has been sentenced accordingly Not excusing molestation in any form but India is literally the rape capital of the world but you don't see them making noise about it in the UK With what I've seen on Twitter in the last few days, you'll think every Nigerian guy in the UK is a rapist |

I left the monies in my PayPal and revolut account (though not savings account) and I have saved up to £200. I am thinking of opening a real savings account where I can get interests monthly or sending the money to my Nigerian bank. Can someone give me suggestions on genuine banks I can save money that would give me better interest. 200 may be too small for interests but Chase gives interest. Can save in UsD om piggyvest too, they give interests but it may be a bit small |
