ProgrammingHow Can I Make Countdown Value Available Outside Its Scope In JS by HydraFeeds(op): 9:34pm On Oct 21, 2023
I want to implement a countdown function outside is scope but I could not access its value in the global scope,I’ve tried a few logic but couldn’t decode it so I thought I should throw it here .

Here’s the code :

let countdownInterval; // Declare the variable in the global scope
let countdown duration = null;

if (ABC) {
// Start a five-minute countdown (300,000 milliseconds)
countdownduration = 300000; // Set the value when the countdown begins

countdownInterval = setInterval(function() {
countdownduration -= 1000; // Decrease by 1 second

if (countdownduration <= 0) {

clearInterval(countdownInterval);

console.log("Five-minute countdown is over!"wink;
} else {
Console.log(“xyz “);
}
}, 1000); // Run the countdown every second (1000 milliseconds)
}

// I want to use it outside its scope like this
if (countdownduration < 280000) {
// Countdown is less than 280,000 milliseconds
Logic xyz
}

How can I make the countdown duration value be available in the global scope pls ?

PoliticsRe: Meet Chidi Blyden- US Deputy Assistant Secretary Of Defense For African Affairs by HydraFeeds(m): 5:10am On Sep 29, 2023
rinzaugustine:
In Nigeria an incompetent man the age of her great grandfather will shove her away from occupying that position based on ‘emilokan’ ideology which has destroyed merit and opportunity for youths to take up positions…sadly an old man that benefited the best from British colonialists in his young age, became a Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka who as a Yoruba person knows the meaning of ‘emilokan’ does not see anything wrong in the statement ‘emilokan’ in a democracy … rather he is comfortable attacking Nigerian youths who are trying to fight ‘emilokan’ ideology democratically through the balot box to have a fair system …shame shame shame
Emilokan is a good reinforcement,if you have worked very hard and believe you deserve or you can do more .

Where this “Chidi youth “ is “appointed” as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for African Affairs ,an 80 year old man is the president and his opponent is 77 years.

Nothing stop a youth from contesting for Nigeria presidency.
PoliticsRe: Our Ancestors Built This Wall 600 Years Ago. Today We Would Pay CHINA To Do It. by HydraFeeds(m): 11:11am On Sep 22, 2023
Rossikk:
I suspect this wall was built to keep out the Arab jihadists invading West Africa many centuries ago.

It clearly worked. For centuries. In fact it could be reasonably argued that had this wall not been built, we would be bearing names like Abdullahi and Muhammed today instead of Ayodele, Chukwuma, and so on, since Benin was the biggest and most powerful kingdom of the south, and had they captured Benin, the rest of the region would have been a breeze for them.

So, a very good and laudable project.

Indigenously envisioned, conceptualized, and executed.

With no stories of mago mago or somebody chopping the money meant for building the wall. wink
I read it at Benin museum that it’s built by the king to prevent his subjects from leaving the city .
PoliticsRe: Presidential Poll: Abuja Can’t Be 37th State, Atiku, Obi Tell Supreme Court by HydraFeeds(m): 9:00pm On Sep 21, 2023
wirinet:
You still don't get it. We are talking about the misnomer in mixing the Governorship election and the presidential election in one vote for Abuja only. No other state has that problem. When Abuja residents and indigenes go out to vote in the presidential election, they are also voting for their governor. You would expect under a democracy that the person that hopes to govern a people would at least have a minimum number of votes from the same people.
I get your point it still doesn’t makes sense that a candidate will get 100% of other 36 states but got disqualified because he didn’t get mere 25% in the FCT .

The best way out is to get their own governor or minister of FCT comes from FCT always .
PoliticsRe: Presidential Poll: Abuja Can’t Be 37th State, Atiku, Obi Tell Supreme Court by HydraFeeds(m): 7:44pm On Sep 21, 2023
wirinet:
Abuja residents and indigenes are not fighting for four heads, they are asking for their votes to count in determining who governs them, just like all other states (since in terms of votes they should be regarded as a state)
with your logic ,25% is not mandatory there then cos for instance,LP cleared southeast with over 75% votes same way other parties clear some other states with over 75% votes. Are we going to say because the declared president doesn’t have 25% in few states then he should not be declared?

But DC has mayor which is equivalent to governor if you are comparing Nigeria to America na.
great input ,the Abuja residents should fight for governorship as well but not four heads which is not even their idea to start with .

Infact, you just need to attend a couple of seminars, or attend classes in primary school to be qualified. No certificate is required,
just evidence you attended primary school
Like a market to market candidate that got his degree from Harvard seminar but only submitted a gce he did after gaining admission to study philosophy where he graduated with bad result .
PoliticsRe: Presidential Poll: Abuja Can’t Be 37th State, Atiku, Obi Tell Supreme Court by HydraFeeds(m): 4:47pm On Sep 20, 2023
ValarDoharis:
There are several Supreme Court judgment that states that 25% in Abuja is a must. The case of Obj vs Buhari 2003 and Yaradua vs Buhari 2008.

Perhaps there should be constitutional ammendment but that's what is in the constitution. Which developed country uses attendance of primary school as criteria for presidents, but thats what is in Nigeria constitution
I will like to see the judgement you referred to if you don’t mind .

Also ,the lowest certification for Nigeria presidency is secondary school certification but not primary school certification as you said and yes I checked US certification but none was required

NOT IN OSUN, NOT IN LAGOS, NOT IN ABUJA, NOT IN KANO AND CERTAINLY NOT IN RIVERS STATE.

TINUBU SHOULD BE DISQUALIFIED.

PoliticsRe: Presidential Poll: Abuja Can’t Be 37th State, Atiku, Obi Tell Supreme Court by HydraFeeds(m): 4:04pm On Sep 20, 2023
ValarDoharis:
You're disagreeing and agreeing at the same time.

I said residents of Abuja can never be governors or lawmakers like people of other states. Does that not make them special like special needs children?

Imagine you're from the FCT, whatever ambition you have of becoming governor should be buried because you don't have two heads according to batists
I still stand on my point that they don’t have four heads and it’s logically impossible for a candidate to Win 100 percent of other states but got disqualified because he failed to make 25 percent in Abuja only .

The FCT is well developed compared to most other states ,that’s the advantage of presidency in their location ,being a governor is not as important as being a developed area or is the benefit of being a governor just the title but not the development of the area ?

Also ,tell me which developed democratic country mandate 25 percent in their capital before a president can be declared?
PoliticsRe: Presidential Poll: Abuja Can’t Be 37th State, Atiku, Obi Tell Supreme Court by HydraFeeds(m): 3:44pm On Sep 20, 2023

You already gave them special status by saying they can never be governors or lawmakers like other citizens!
the President and the NASS do that for them .

If the president that will governs them need 25% from them then the NASS that makes their laws need 25% as well .
PoliticsRe: Presidential Poll: Abuja Can’t Be 37th State, Atiku, Obi Tell Supreme Court by HydraFeeds(m): 2:50pm On Sep 20, 2023
