A self-acclaimed human rights activist, has urged Nigerian men to put their stubborn wives in oppressive conditions and also to beat them into submission.

Identified on Facebook as Solomon Ogbogboyibo, He took to the platform to advise men to ensure they subdue their wives because if women are given freedom they will abuse it.

He was of course called out for his post, and he stood his grounds….

He posted the below comment, defending his initial post;
“Wives should be beaten to submission if necessary. Overindulgence of the womenfolk leads to wives slapping or stabbing husbands. #Abomination,” he wrote.

“Women need to be kept in oppressive conditions because when you give them freedom they consistently abuse it. #Give them freedom and throw away their submission,” he wrote.

A Twitter user has taken to the platform to alleged that Nigerians are involved in the auctioning of migrants off as slaves in Libya.

News about “slave markets” (in North Africa, particularly Libya) where Nigerians and other Africans are being sold for $400 or less have been making the rounds after a CNN report was published.

The Twitter user, on his timeline, shared a thread on a friend who attempted crossing from Africa to Europe but was sold off as a slave instead.

The friend eventually found his way back to Nigeria, he wrote, but not before he was sold twice, raped, beaten and abused.
The friend was one of 32 who arrived in Libya in July 2016, out of 49 who left Nigeria.

All of the girls were sold, he wrote, and only 3 of 29 boys made it back home.

A Twitter user shared a chat she had with her mum prior to Thanksgiving and it has sparked outrage with people wondering what kind of "unhealthy" relationship they have.

The chat started with a pretty cordial tone but soon degenerated into something else. People called out her mom and said it was a common habit with Black women to talk badly to their kids but Chichi replied that her mom is Asian, not Black. She has now replied those catching feelings on her chat with her mother.

She later told her mum they have gone viral on Twitter but her mum replied telling her that viral means nothing to her if it isn't paying her bills. Her mother went on to say that anyone who got offended by their chat was raised by their parents to be pussies.

An 8-year-old girl who got raped by a yet to be identified man in Ilaje, Bariga area of Lagos, reportedly died of infection from rectovaginal fistula.

A Facebook user has revealed how a young man Abdulmalik Kabir Yaro, was beaten to death by a Local Gang because of his effort to stop the said gang from seeing his younger sister who’s hardly the age of courtship, and this happened to him just four weeks after losing his younger brother to cancer.

The young man Abdulmalik Kabir Yaro was cornered by the local gang and was beaten to a pulp and he gave up the ghost before he could have access to medical care.

This is Abdulmalik Kabir Yaro, a wonderful son of my friend from childhood. Abdulmalik lost his younger brother to leukemia about 4 weeks ago. This morning he’s dead, killed (read, executed) by a local gang. Abdulmalik’s offense which earned him death sentence in the court of this gang was his effort to stop the wayward gang from seeing his young sister who’s hardly the age of courtship.

The gang somehow cornered Abdulmalik and beat him up to pulp yesterday. He was rushed to the hospital in coma and gave up the ghost today around 11 am. This is not in Katsina, Kano, Lagos or Port Harcourt, this happened in the heart of Malumfashi, my sweet serene hometown. I’m devastated!

That the victim was my son while my hometown was the theatre of this ungodly violence, made it even more disturbing. That it’s another crime induced by passion and possibly drugs when Nigeria is debating yesterday’s callous murder of a young man by his wife in a case of domestic violence made it even more tragic and cause for concern.

Where are we heading? Why is murder becoming a cheap option for conflict resolution among the youth? What’s missing in the system that people don’t seem afraid to commit grievous offenses that hitherto, were seen only in western movies? We are slowly inching towards a lawless society for lack of political will to implement punitive laws scripted for our country to curtail and control criminality.

Most laws in Nigeria are mere decoration on dusty shelves in courtrooms; made ineffective by a cumbersome judicial system. I’m sure the murderers of Abdulmalik would have had a second thought before his murder had they watched a convicted murderer hanged to death for the offense. Sadly, all they have to stimulate their respect for the law were countless stories of murderers getting away with murders due to a mixture of clumsiness and cunningness of our judicial system.

It’s sad that a cry for justice in Nigeria is a cry that only the victim could hear. Our courts are more like a sanctuary for criminals than for their victims. With money, one could get away with almost any crime imaginable under the sun. Good cases were lost to judicial technicalities that have no relevance to the facts of the case. Only in Nigeria would a criminal like Evans who made billions in ransom from his kidnapped victims (some of whom were killed by him anyway) would battle the court to enforce his “human right”. It should make sense that people are resorting to improvised laws to deal with criminality.

Thanks to the inefficacy of our justice system, individual communities have designed laws that are already being implemented in full to dispense speedy justice. Thieves of all grades and categories are roasted by the roadside to circumvent the cumbersomeness of our justice system in most states in the Southern part of the country. It’s only a matter of time before other parts of the country borrow and tailor the system to suit their needs. The only antidote for such likely crisis is a wholistic review of the justice system to make more compliant and user friendly.

My heartfelt condolence to the parents of Abdulmalik for the tragic lost of another promising son when yet to overcome the pain of an earlier bereavement. Allah ya jikanshi da rahama."

Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, today signed into law, the bill prohibiting secret cults, terrorism and prescribing death sentence for anyone caught in the acts.

While appending his signature on the bill at the government house in Ado Ekiti, Fayose said the singing was a confirmation of the unwavering commitment of the state government towards combating terrorism across the tertiary institutions in the state.

"From now, any person who is a member of a secret cult, whether or not the person is in possession or in control of any offensive weapon but commits the offence, is liable to conviction to death. Any person who gives financial or material support or assistance to a secret cult or in any manner sponsor the activities of a secret cult, commits an offence under this law and is liable on conviction to imprisonment for life" he said

The governor further explained that anybody who facilitates secret cult meetings or activities in places such as houses, nightclubs, hotels and other residential areas would be committed to life imprisonment. He added that buildings, where any cult related activities are held, would be forfeited to the government while the owners of such structures would be sentenced to five years imprisonment without an option of fine.

The Ekiti state governor who re-emphasized his administration's zero tolerance for cultism and terrorism in the state said lives and property of the people would continue to be protected.

A self-acclaimed Christ, Roland Samuel, who reportedly brainwashes his followers; 300L, 400L students in various universities to abandon their education and abuses them sexually, has reportedly been arrested by NSCDC officers.

Facebook user, Anazodo Echezonachukwu, who narrated the story wrote;
“At last, this bastard and beast was finally caught. This paedophile and sexual pervert by name Roland Samuel sexually and psychologically abused all these victims in this picture.

Amongst these victims are fellas who were in 300L, 400L in various universities. They withdrew and followed this bastard who successfully brainwashed them into believing he is the recent “Christ” and cannot commit sin.

He usually engages all these victims in anal sex with an assurance that their sins are forgiven because they are living in “grace”. Evidences of his teachings are intact.

On this particular occasion, his victims went to eat at a restaurant known as mama put and didnt pay. When they were asked to pay, they replied that their father in heaven owns everything.

Parents, this guy starts off as the CEO of Soundmind lesson centre in Kosofe Ketu Lagos. He folded this up and alleged that Christ has called him.

The victims are currently in rehabilitation centres as some of them are ready to kill for him. Luckily, about two already made a confession to NSCDC officials.
