A Nigerian man has revealed his experience with a restaurant cashier who he usually tip. According to the man identified as Ademide Adim Akpapunam, the cashier whom he used to tip at restaurant his remaining balance called to ask him for N200k to pay her house rent.

The Economic and financial crimes commission, EFCC, has declared two women for forgery and theft of 27 million naira.

According to the commission, Ayanlola Temitayo and Omosalewa Ayinla are wanted in a case of conspiracy, forgery and obtaining money under false pretences to the tune of 27 million naira.

Ayanlola allegedly forged a customer’s documents and fraudulently obtained a loan facility using the customers’s fixed deposit as collateral to secure the sum while Ayinla allegedly forged treasury bills certificates worth N27 million and handed them over to a customer in exchange for the sum.

The suspect, Ayanlola Temitayo is at large while all efforts to apprehend her have proved futile. A native of Ondo West Local Government Area in Ondo State, the dark complexioned suspect is 40 years old and is of average height. She speaks Yoruba and English Languages fluently. Her last known address is No 44 Akinlawon Agboola Close, Jericho, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Omosalewa Ayinla the second suspect is at large while efforts to apprehend her have been futile. Early this morning, embattled Senator Dino Melaye was arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja while heading to Morocco for an official assignment.

Confirming his arrest to NAN, spokesperson of the Nigeria Immigration Service NIS, Sunday James, said the airport authorities acted based on instructions. James however did not reveal who issued the instruction for the arrest.

The police recently declared Melaye wanted after he was accused of supplying arms to some murder suspects, who alleged they were being sponsored by him. Dino has since denied the allegation.

Deborah Ifejuwura Olajide, a 200 level Food Science Technology student of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Ondo State, has been killed by a hit and run driver.

Olajide, who was said to be on her home from vigil was knocked down by the vehicle in the early hours of Thursday, while her lifeless body was discovered by her colleagues.

According to a source, the driver of the vehicle who was on top speed rammed into the speed breaker mounted along FUTA junction and in the process tried to avoid other speed breakers and knocked down the girl who was walking home.

The public relations office of the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife in Osun state , Abiodun Olanrewaju, says the female student involved in the sex-for-mark scandal currently rocking the institution, has refused to come forward to testify before the panel that has been set up to investigate the matter.

In an audio convesation which has since gone viral, a lecturer in the school, professor Richard Akindele could be heard telling a final year female student, Enitan, that he will have to sleep with her five times before she can pass his course which she failed.

Speaking on a programme on Rave FM in Osogbo, the state capital on Wednesday April 11th, the OAU spokesperson said the incident happened last year.

According to Olanrewaju, the victim is said to be apprehensive that the lecturer might lose his job if she comes forward.

He said;
''We have put machinery in motion to ascertain the veracity of the claims and identify the characters involved. As I am talking to you now, the management has taken a position which we will be working on now. On the day that the audio was leaked, the vice chancellor and other principal officers of the university acted, including the legal director of the university. We set up a committee and the vice chancellor gave the committee one week to submit its report. After that, we will know what to do.

The incident happened last year. We have been calling her (the student’s) line, but she is not responding to her calls again. We learnt that she confided in someone that she did not want the appointment of the man (lecturer) to be terminated because of her case. The panel has been set up and query has been given to the man; but we need somebody to come up that she was the one that was sexually harassed and the person is not in sight.”

A young mother has died after a car crash in Farin Doki village, along Suleja-Minna road, Niger state on Wednesday.

A Corps member in Edo State was allegedly beaten up by a soldier for leaving the parade ground during rehearsals for the Passing Out Parade (POP) scheduled for tomorrow.

According to a fellow corps member, the corper was brutalized despite the fact that he took permission before leaving the parade ground to go get drinking water.

A Nigerian lady identified as Daratayo has taken to her Instagram page to narrate her ordeal on how she was robbed on the Eko Bridge.

According to Dara, she was mercilessly slapped, beaten and injured in the process just because she refused to hand over her properties to the thieves.

She however blamed the Nigerian government for allowing tanker drivers park along the bridge, which consequently caused the traffic gridlock every morning and thereby giving these criminals the liberty to rob commuters without any confrontation.

A 28-year-old former student of Covenant University has narrated how he was introduced to marijuana and how it's currently ruining his life.

The young man with the Twitter username @NaijaClassCapt said he was a bright, intelligent child who tried the substance just to experiment in his secondary school days, but it became a part of his life and it got so bad that he began to steal to fund the lifestyle. As a result, he dropped out of Covenant University.

He is still trying to get his life under control but, from the look of things, it hasn't been so easy.

Today 9th of April, 2018, at about 2pm, one Ekene Okoro placed a call to the- office of the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State (PPRO) and reported that his cousin, Immanuel James was being harassed by policemen alleged to be SARS operatives at Ago-Palace way , Okota, opposite a Zenith bank branch at Ago-Palace way.

Sequel to the above, a team of policemen from the Command X-Squad section, led by ASP. Musa Shuaibu was dispatched to intervene in the matter.

However, on sighting the X-Squad personnel the erring Police officers hurriedly left the scene in a manner suggestive that they were on illegal duty.

Going forward, the CP Lagos directed the officer in charge of the X-Squad section to fish out the police men within 2 hours and that directive has been actualized with the identification of the policemen involved.
They were led in that inglorious duty by one Inspector Jude Akhoyemta attached to FSARS Ikeja.
The general public is hereby informed that the CP has ordered for their arrest and as soon as that is done, the public would be communicated as usual.

Soldiers who sustained injuries in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents and are receiving medical attention at the 44, Army Referral Hospital, Kaduna, have complained about being left out in the recent special promotions for those fighting insurgents.

The soldiers spoke when Muhammad Muhammad, general officer commander (GOC), 1 division, Nigerian Army, Kaduna, visited them on their sick beds.

The visit of the GOC was part of activities marking the annual West Africa Social Activities (WASA) which held at the parade ground of the 2 battalion, Ribadu cantonment, Kaduna, on Saturday.

The soldiers lamented that despite their sacrifices, they were not included among the over 3000 soldiers recently given special promotions. They also complained about their welfare, saying presently they are incapable of providing for their families.

One of the soldiers told the GOC that his allowance was not paid between February and October 2017. Another soldier said he is currently incapacitated as he can no longer go for any operation to cater for his family.

He appealed to the authorities for financial assistance. While explaining that the visit was part of activities for the WASA, he said their complaints would be forwarded to the chief of army staff, who according to him, is very passionate about the welfare of soldiers and officers.

“I will make a case for you and I will get back to you,” he said.
