Braggante: The move is also to further silent Tinubu, and reduce his influence (as he is being relegated gradually). If Fanis statements are true we should be sure Tinubu will also be up and doing.
Imagine a coalition of the South initiated by Tinubu and APC. For instance fronting an Ibo and Yoruba man for 2019 (Plausible). That will be formidable. The North will want to move first to break the South North can move all they want. Tinubu camp and the South will not fold hands and allow Elrufai become president just like that. Already the east doesn't like him, some part of north hates him (even Muslims) and most Christians do not want to hear his name because he is a confirmed Islamic fundamentalist. Was it not under his nose that arewa youth issued a threat to igbos? Have they been arrested? That's a tip of what to expect in a country under Elrufai. Just take a good look at Kaduna state. No worries. All things are working together for Good. Let them present him.....same way they presented Buhari |

Jesus told us that we must receive persecution here on earth. Its part of our crosses as Christians. The Apostles of old faced tougher ones too. So we need to fight back, not with earthly weapons, because we wrestle not against flesh and blood

Lightening: We are not discussing juju or whether the massive lands we are acquiring everwhere are for keeps or not. You accused the ibos of refusing to sell their lands to plateau indigenes. Please what can bring a typical plateau man to the east to live and how many of them can afford a plot of land in the east. Answer my question or shut up There are plateau indigenes in every State and to think that they don't have money to buy land in the east is a big joke. The igbos in the east particularly have these trade associations that are hostile to non indigenes. The case of destroyed Dangote proposed cement plant comes to mind. You see everything as competition even when the playing field is broad enough for all. I hope you learn from the following analogy. You leave Nigeria for USA in search of greener pastures. Then on achieving a better life, you start insulting the citizens there and telling them how Nigeria is better than USA and how they don't have enough money to buy a land in Nigeria. If you can make anything out of the above then you will understand that welcoming the teeming number of ndigbos in other states and regions is not foolishness but wisdom shown by the hosts. Ask yourself which is easier and cheaper : Hausa man buying land in the east or igbo buying land in the north?an honest answer will tell you why your people are everywhere in the north and fewer northerners in the east. So who is diplomatically stronger? Before you go live somewhere you do a swot analysis. The east doesn't pay non easterners when it comes to doing business and that's why major companies will always opt for north or west except those whose owners are from the East. Even Nigeria today is talking about ease of doing business. Hiking the price of undeveloped land in the east coupled with all manner of customary rules will only slow down development and scare even some indigenes. The east need to demonstrate thesame liberal gestures it has enjoyed from people of other regions and stop claiming to be the alpha and omega of development in other regions. Make non indigenes feel welcomed |
Politics › Re: House Of Representatives Returns CRK As Independent Subject by Iamzik: 8:33pm On Jul 11, 2017 |
FactualSpeech: Both are totally different. Arabic is just a language that every tom, dick and harry can learn but Islamic religious knowledge encompasses lots and lots of things. Now to the gist that I said you did not get, nobody is talking about Islamic Religious Knowledge but Arabic studies. In 2014 there was basic school curriculum to have a uniform curriculum across the country. NERDC was given the duty and they reviewed 22 different subjects into 7 headings which made some subjects have sub under it. An example is Religious and National Values which have CRK,IRS, Civic Education, Social studies etc. It has two or three more sub-headings like that. The policy states that different classes should be used for CRK or IRS depending on which one you want to study. For Arabic, it is stated clearly as "OPTIONAL" and the heading of the list of subjects reads "a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 7 subjects(which is for anyone offering Arabic)". With this there should have been no cries to the Ag. President or the media of CRK being scrapped or IRS being imposed. Arabic was the bone of contention not CRK or IRS. Their claim is Arabic is imposed on their children when they are not Muslims. This is false and an open minded look into NERDC website will educate anyone interested in facts. The spread of this falsehood by CAN,Apostle Suleman and others is being portrayed as if the curriculum was introduced under the Buhari led administration by a Muslim northerner Minister of Education (knowing fully well the state of religious divides in the country in which a small ignition can lead to destruction of lots of things) where as it was introduced under Jonathan administration with Wike as the coordination minister of education I guess. Please join me in reading this link http://nerdc.org.ng/eCurriculum/ CurriculumStructure.aspx Needless policy change in the first place. What us wrong with the previous curriculum where you simply choose between CRK and IRK? This is what you get when you attempt to complicate things unnecessarily. So if IRK and CRK is under civic education as one subject then who will teach that subject? Christian or Moslem teacher? How will the exam be set? Will a Muslim be asked to answer CRK question? Who will mark it? Will a Christian teacher mark IRK exam? What does he know about Islam? Religion is beyond academic exercise. It's a believe, a conviction. The house did the right thing. No need to complicate things. |

Lightening: Very dumb post. The question is how many plateau indigenes can afford land in the east. Very stupid question. In your mind you come from the super rich tribe and your land is flowing with silver and gold When even your kith and kin kill themselves over land with all manner of juju who will be interested? You don't love each other that's why your people run away from prying eyes to go settle far away from home. Even those who don't own land outside the east are opposed to your Biafra propaganda because they know the suffering that await them if they return home. Land is a property of the indigenous people in any region represented by the government. You can't really buy land in the true sense of the word. Do you know the meaning of certificate of OCCUPANCY? Occupancy is different from ownership fyi The government and indigenous people of the east hold the ultimate communal right to land ownership in the east (sounds good to your ears right?) and same holds true for every other state and region- north or west. You can buy land all you want. We are ready to sell. We'll just take it back when the time is ripe. Happy developing!! |

Billyonaire: Do not advertise your stupidity son, Igbos own 100% of SE and still own atleast 60% of assets in every State of the Federation of Nigeria (I stand corrected). It is a strategy. Igbos have defeated every other tribe economically and they control the future of all landed assets. God is not creating new lands, so who ever holds the title of lands, control the future of the indigenous population and their rights of residency.
Every landowner today in this world, was once a visitor, then over a century the original owners are forgotten and the land owners become the new indigenes. What the Igbos have done today, will better be understood well in the next 100yrs. When they become totally in charge of all lands and they can choose to rename the towns.
Learn from history. Hurry!!! Now clap for yourself.... |

Exciton: Well, accept my apology for laughing off your Al Gore claim. He truly won a Nobel prize for his efforts to disseminate important information to the public.
But that's where it stops.
Every other thing you said is just the usual conspiracy stuff. And I can't argue with you because your arguments are only explanatory (at least within the time frame of our existence), they aren't falsifiable (i.e there's no logical possibility of designing an experiment to show that your claims are flat out wrong).
It's the same reason why it's a waste of time to argue with flat-earthers, alien visitor believers, that pastor can cure HIV believers, there is God believers etc etc.
What I mean is this: you will explain everything away to fit your claim. E.g. If I claim there's well recorded data supporting average temp rise, you'd respond by saying we're still in the temp rise regime and will regulate itself at a later time... a time which your hypothesis can't even make an attempt to predict - primarily because there's no data: the Anthropocene era is unique in the sense that it's the first time in the history of Earth that the inhabitants have had a huge impact on ecology and most likely the climate. So, your argument is un-testable, not falsifiable.
However, the opposite is. And many scientists around the world agree that the data supports the global warming claim. Another falacy of generalisation there in bold. Science is not a consensus of majority vote as you will like us to believe. The idea that a fictitious 70% of "scientists" agree doesn't make it final. That's the beauty of science. Science is open to debate and Is based on facts. Oh an there is data collected from weather observation satellites in the US since 1970 which shows no significant increase in global temperatures in the last 47 years but the sierra club find it convenient to ignore that. There are over 30,000 scientists in the USA including 9000 PhDs including the founder of weather channel, pleading for an open debate on climate change. Why are they being bullied into silence by politicians and the media? |

LordAdam16: Oga, whenever there is a tussle on legal interpretation, the Supreme Court has the final say. Separation of powers. Government 101.
So, the Senate would take Osinbajo to court so that the honorable Justices can put to rest the issue whether Osinbajo is correct on the issue of confirmation or if the Senate is correct. Very simple!
The last time there was a power tussle over Lawal, the Legislature whipped the Executive into shape.
This will be no different.
The nonsense they could not try with the Judiciary would not fly against the Senate.
If Osinbajo is so sure about his position, let him submit his case in court through the AGF (who by the way is not 100% on board and should ideally recuse himself). Nigeria is not a Banana Republic, at least not yet.
-Lord Good luck to both parties. Senate has suspended confirmation of executive nominees and they think that will hurt the executive. It will just render them irrelevant. Car Talk › Re: UBER Driving: Analyzing The Pros And The Cons, All You Need To Know by Iamzik: 7:31pm On Jul 06, 2017 |
Esseite: Trust me... uber is not for the faint hearted...
My story....
My uber driver bailed on me after the reduction on fares..
Decided to drive it myself to see how it goes... Got to the filling station, filled my car with N10,000
Activated the trip metre as i had registered myself finally the previous day.
Long story short...
At the end of the day I had spent: Fuel - N10,000 Car wash - N1,000 (after 14hrs driving, you can barely lift a sponge talk more of washing a car at 8pm or later) Panadol - N200 (very important)(or to okada rider to you a path as the uber map are sometimes unreliable) Toll gates to pick ups - N500 Feeding - N1000 (2 square) I had been driving round lagos for 14hrs total.. An increased mileage of 135miles (est from lagos to benin).
I calculated my cost... I service my car at 3000 miles with mobile 1. @ 135 miles a day i should service approx every month. Which cost me 30k(6 ltr) with filter. And workmanship approx. (Note 3,000 miles is approx from lagos to portharcourt 6 times)
Divide that, approx 1k per day on service, my a/c was on all through, my engine was on virtually all through as uber kept linking trips before the previous ends.
Well.. i made almost 19k that day after exhausting the fuel to reserve. But i had spent - N14,000 including service forcast. Excluding forcast repair major/minor
I had serious back pain and slimmed out in hours.. my linkages were worn out and i knew my a/c might fail at such pressures, talk more of the engine that adds approx 150miles every day coupled with exposure to dents.
I calculated my income after expense to know if it could buy another car before this one dies off. I had made just N5,000 assumed profit after 14hrs driving."God forbid" after 30% uber fee deduction on all fares..
I told my self the truth and appreciated the driver..
Its good yeah, but trust me, its not for the FAINT HEARTED with the current review.
A rider took me from lekki ph 1 to deep deep egbeda, the trip was N4,500 at 8pm (i was naive and never knew uber drivers call to reject trips). had to drive back to the island alone.. its was penny wise, pound foolish.
The snap shot above was for the old price, would rather drive a danfo bus or trailer than opt to drive uber now. You kept quoting your distance in miles. Or do you mean kilometers? |
Politics › Re: "Nobody Can Remove Magu" - Osinbajo by Iamzik: 7:12pm On Jul 06, 2017 |
LordAdam16: Hopefully, it wouldn't get to that stage.
But if does, you'd be surprised at how easy it'd become. The Executive has flouted more orders than can be counted. If the Executive branch flouts a supreme court order asking Magu to be dropped, when Osinbajo is the Ag President and Buhari is still ex communicado in London, I guarantee you he'd be impeached.
Dogara and Saraki are Northerners. Onnoghen is still reeling from the mud-slinging from the Executive, where they said he was corrupt. Malami just said the Ag President is on his own. That is the effing Attorney General of the Federation. The FEC as presently constituted would not put their neck on the line for Osinbajo.
That's why I want the Senate to call Osi's bluff and drag him to court. That's the perfect scenario to knock sense into his big head. Let us see whether the fake Pastor would not change tune when his political career is placed on the chopping block.
Ever since Jonathan was dismissed as the first incumbent to lose the seat, anything is possible under the right circumstances.
-Lord What is this one saying? Drag VP to court for what na? Magu is there in acting capacity. He was sent there twice and was rejected. Is there any part of the constitution of house rule that says the executive cannot renominate an appointee that was previously rejected? Or that the nominee cannot act? This is just power tussle between the executive and legislators. It will be resolved before you know it. |

Why is Magu acting chairman, why why was his name submitted twice, why do they continue to submit names for positions that the constitution supposedly deems unnecessary? The examples of the last case is Director General, National Lottery Commission that was submitted yesterday?
This is clear case of talking from both sides of your mouth. If the executive believes what they're saying why are they wasting time with senate? Confusion abounds in Nigeria.
Osinbajo is right senate can't remove Magu. This is same fight Buhari has had for past 2 yrs. Why the senate doesn't just amend constitution to check him I don't know. Even though the legislature is a coequal branch of government, the executive still has the final say. The guy can keep acting for four years if Buhari insists. Was he rejected based on lack of merit of because he stepped on some powerful toes and they were waiting patiently for him. Saraki and his house of thieves will not confirm him. And the executive will keep nominating him. And so the cycle continues. In the end the executive wins |

Paragraph 2 also talks about Al Gore like he's a Nobel prize winning scientist due to his great work on global warming. Lol.
Paragraph 4. I don't know it's purpose. Except the last 2 lines which I disagree with. Auto manufacturers will most likely discontinue production of petrol/deisel powered cars in the future primarily due to government regulations, associated subsidies, people's increased awareness and civil responsibility to keep the environment clean etc. The western media cannot bully the whole world to buy their propaganda. Global temperature rise and fall and it has regulated itself just fine through the ages. Well Al Gore received a novel price Fyi for telling "smart" scientists that Co2 is a greenhouse gas-same Co2 you and I breath out, same Co2 that plants breath in. He put together a team of political scientists to push this narrative but we all know that it's a scam. Well he made hundreds of millions off of it and his own house still connects to national grid. And that's why msm is angry that Trump pulled out of the Paris accord. It's all about the money bro. Proponents of global warming are after the money. The planet is a creation master piece. I'm all for protecting the environment and cutting down on pollution but the idea that human activity is the cause of global warming is absurd. The Sierra club has refused to debate global warming science till date. What are they afraid of?
