Apologies lucabrasi if i took this a bit personal. Got carried away by some elements disrespecting Nigerians working hard abroad. I think its extremely wrong for anyone to insult people based on their source of income no matter how menial it is. Every honest work deserves respect. Everyones choice of location, be it naija or yankee, has to be respected. It is their choice. Fingers are not equal.

This same "gutter cleaners" and "bum washers" generate a lot of foreign exchange for Nigeria. These same "bum cleaners" feed their family from what they do. Let us allow them peace. Face your million naira work back home and let them face their own in UK. It will only swell the unemployment market if we succeed in forcing everyone home. One person even went on to say coming home will be a bad idea just after dissing them for what they do. If you feel pained for what they do, offer them an alternative job in naija or shut your trap.

don't mind the stupid British visa reject called glite. UK embassy rejected her application when she had already boasted to her friends. She just had to travel out to save face. So she choose one of the poorest south American nation. They gave her visa quickly. Now she has major issues with anyone who lives in yankee including innocent hard working Nigerians in the UK. Take a look below. Glites vacation destination. Swap one slum for the other.

Obviously you are a baby (mummy's pet) and out of touch with reality. So when real Nigerians suffering the folly of our leadership are talking, just listen. Again, surviving in Oyibo land requires a lot of self esteem. A lot many people have inferiority complex in the presence of oyibo. When you are good in what you do, oyibo forget class and gives you a job. My brother, right here in UK, I have met Nigerians to be proud of. Men who know what they are doing and who stand up to oyibos and even speak grammar more than them. Men who work and live anywhere they want to be. Not to be in a hurry like a frightened mouse to say am "leaving this country as soon as my programme is done". Apart from the education, you need to acquire the experience to take back to naija.

who told you they don't work menial jobs? Where do you even know in UK? Rightly said, you spend all your day sleeping and eating in your cozy flat. Go to the interior villages and communities and see things my brother. And if you are worried about them crying of immigrants taking all the jobs, tell them I said their brothers and sisters are working and living in Nigeria too. How many Nigerians are living as 4th class citizens right there in Nigeria? Little story for you. In most places in naija, unless you are from the community, you cannot get a job (ask people who have been to the oil regions). What does that make you in your own country? 2nd class citizen? What about the millions of graduates doing menial jobs back there in naija. Is there any difference in suffering at home and suffering abroad.

Am sure we would have had a case of accidental gun discharge if it was a man involved.

Oh yes Gamine is right. Even the British agree that Blair sheepishly followed his friend, Bush into Iraq to gain favours with USA. The 51st state whether you like it or not is UK. Obama therefore wields a large influence over the UK's foreign and domestic policies (and on other countries too).

The government has a hand in spoiling kids in "some foreign countries". Imagine passing a law that says you cannot reprimand your own kid. Discipline is not a softly softly thing. Discipline requires seriousness and a "little slap on the wrist or bum" sometimes. Once you remove that and allow the kids to know it, there goes the respect for parents or any form of authority.

This guy is the usual suffering and smiling Nigerian. He keeps finding excuses for every time he has been failed by his government. He has worked hard all his life and is nearing 57 years old. He is stretched to the limits by rulers who don't give a crap. He sees his sweat being stolen by politicians everyday. He continues to hope Babangida will come back to power and unleash another chop I chop system of government. Yes the average Britico is lazy and fat but his government takes care of him (including some lazy Nigerians too who have discovered giro collection as an occupation)
For those who keep insinuating that ALL Nigerians are suffering in yankee. Surprise! Only those Nigerians desperate enough to move abroad without the right papers are roasting here. A lot of Nigerians are well educated professionals and work and earn highly. Yes, all fingers are not equal and some blokes have found themselves in menial jobs but they still make it if they work hard.

If you are really residing in the UK and you have never had one day or one moment when you sighed in your heart and said "Chei, why can't naija be like UK", then you are lying because that is the first reaction of any new comer to this land. This morning as I stepped into the streets to go to work, it was with renewed vigour. Even though it happened in America, the inspiration and the pride was felt beyond the shores of that country. A few days ago, we celebrated the first black F1 champion - Lewis Hamilton. Now its something we all thought will never happen - a black man in the white house. It is symbolic. It has taken so long. The dream was pronounced 45 years ago and am sure Dr Martin Luther King would have turned in his grave last night. Now Barack needs support and patience. I dont believe he has the solution to all of America's social ills but this is a symbolic victory and a step towards something good which hopefully will be emulated by countries in other parts of the world.

At least all those people that were evicted from UK or were refused visa now have a place to unleash their anger. There is no City in the world that does not have slums. New York, Berlin, Washington all have slums. Does that make them lower than naija in terms of development? No way! Slum has levels. Would you comapare the slums in London to those in Aba or Lagos? No way! At least the slums in London have regular power and water supply. The tramp in London can still go every weekend to collect free money (dole). Ask me what the naija govt does with all the oil money?

Everyone is talking about Timo Glock slowing down to let Lewis pass. What about Vettel? Did Hamilton deliberately slow to allow him pass? Maybe we should penalise Lewis for slowing down to let Glock and Vettel past.
