raumdeuter:100% with no input was Barkley and Drinkwater. Those with strong input are Bakayoko and Zappacosta Morata was 2nd choice. The rest the club bought a style of player which he identified as a need, without him having input on the actual names bought. |
lordfalcao:Correct. Not every signing must be disagreement. |
lordfalcao:Emenalo used his own mouth last season to confirm that Kante is a Conte signing. |
A40:A small handful of those deals went on with his input most notably Donkeyoko and Zappacosta. But he is not responsible for anything close to the full £250m that your Apari keeps shouting about. |
raumdeuter:Just stay on the sidelines shouting "Conte spent £250m" while those of us with interest in our club discuss internal matters, you hear? When we are discussing foolish signings like Giroud, Emenalo and his fan boys should shut up because his gaffe of collaborating with Conte to sign the worst player in Chelsea history will not be forgotten: According to The Times, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte and the technical director, Michael Emenalo, have identified Monaco star Tiemoue Bakayoko as the perfect replacement for the soon-to-be gone Oscar. Emenalo has scouted Bakayoko on several occasions already this season and written positive reviews, while Conte accompanied him to Monaco’s Champions League clash with Tottenham Hotspur to keep an eye on him. What common fan like me has seen in 5 games from his sitting room and given detailed breakdown which was 100% correct, Emenalo will not see on several scouting missions, no wonder he has never signed a decent DM in 7 years at Chelsea. Emenalo will not know what a good central midfielder looks like if it smacks him in his face. When we are discussing transfer gaffes this season, Emenalo fanboys should close mouth. |
lordfalcao:Exactly my point, which is why sometimes doing nothing is the best option rather than putting money in Giroud and co which just reduces the money available to buy better players. |
. |
lordfalcao:I agree with you that the Technical direction to buy these types of players as replacements came from Conte, but the financial direction (swapping Dzeko for Giroud and Sandro for Emerson) comes from the board. My point is, these half-measures are of no help to anyone as the new signings have not added anything different. The board always knew Conte would be leaving by summer so why follow his Technical direction but do a half job that profits no one. Maybe the new manager in 6 months time will prefer Batsman to Giroud, no? If they know they cannot afford the exact players Conte wanted, they should just chill till summer rather than buying the Okrika version. |
lordfalcao:How many minutes has Emerson played and how many points has Giroud won? I feel Walter Mazzari spoilt Kenedys name in Contes ear, and gave him extremely bad report from the loan spell at Watford. |
raumdeuter:Fraudulent attempt to claim a Technical Director was not buying players will not work. All signings in the past, we have pinpointed the key movers and shakers. Feel free to go and review. |
raumdeuter:When are you going to claim Conte spent £250m next despite Conte not having a say in most signings? |
Kenedy proving at Newcastle what we said at the time. . . .that Emerson is just another needless signing from a senseless club who specialise in throwing away money by buying players where they are not needed. We already had a LWB fit for purpose in Kenedy. Same with Giroud. What returns are to be had on the £18m we spent on a bench player for 18 months contract only? What has Giroud done that Batsman could not do until summer when Tammy Abraham becomes available. Has Giroud won us a single point? Have we got anything from that foolish signing that we could not get from Batsman, or even a youth player or even a false 9? |
Make we just lick our wounds and prepare for next season jare. Use the rest of the season to play Ethan Ampadu etc. |

Did Willian get injured to get taken off? |
Nihilstjnr:I think Afrodoc2 has blown this out the water by showing evidence that Fergie won 7 league titles before ever topping the net spend chart. I am 35 years on this earth this year and landed UK in 1996/97 season and met all those players I quoted on ground plus had been watching football many years before. Also used to visit these shores before I relocated so though I may not have first hand experience, I have some experience plus met that era of players fully. When Amokachi was transferred for example, I knew the price in 1994 so if you tell me Roy Keanes transfer was outrageous 12 months earlier, I can give you better perspective. To the crux of the issue, Fergie can never be compared to moneybags Guardiola. Fergie broke Celtic-Rangers hegemony without money at Aberdeen. To show his level, he then won Cup winners Cup beating Madrid in the final. Then he won European Super Cup beating Hamburg in the final. In those days all 3 European trophies were highly prized, not like today where UCL takes all the shine. To win those cups, you have to be the best. That's because only league winners go to UCL, then 2nd place goes to UEFA Cup and Cup winners go to CWC. Most Serie A legends of 1990s made their name in CWC and UEFA Cup eg Elfenomeno Ronaldo, all the Parma legend etc. This is why I laugh when anyone tries to downplay Chelsea CWC title of 1998 through the lens of todays UCL. The equivalent of what Fergie did with Aberdeen is like Pep taking Everton to UCL victory today. Fergie won 7 leagues without being top net spender. What I remember Fergie for is most of his squad would be packed with 6/10 players and he would still win league. Your Johnny Evans, Darren Fletchers, Nicky Butts, David Mays, Pallisters, Solskjaers, Rafaels, Fabios, Wes Browns, Ji Sung, Quinton Fortunes etc. Most of the rest will be 7 or 8/10 not big name world stars eg Sheringham, Andy Cole, Yorke, Gary Neville, Nani etc. In every Fergie 11, 5 or 6 players will be 6/10 or 7/10 players. So no, I can never compare Fergie who can coach a squad of above-average players to greatness to Fraudiola who must have 9 or 10 10/10 players on on the pitch, if not they will flog him 3-0 or 5-0. |
afrodoc2:And Andre Grey moved for exactly the same price (£18m) as Mario Lemina so my mathematical extrapolation was 100% correct when I said the below: Ibime:Nihilist, hold this L ![]() |
Nihilstjnr:There is a difference between having experience of that era and reading about it later. Your twisted perspective comes from viewing Cantona transfer through the lens of todays desperation where a desperate club might pay £200m for Neymar (which makes £50m for Kyle Walker look relatively cheap) . . . and lead you to compare Cantona transfer to Kyle Walker. You are even comparing worldwide to equate Cantona to Walker which is nonsense. In 1992 Lentini, Vialli and Papin were signed for upwards of 10m in Serie A. Intermilan also bought players in that price range. And you are busy comparing 1.8m for Cantona to that. You would have to compute about 30 transfers made in Serie A first before you start to think of British transfers. So no, Cantona was no Kyle Walker. He was more like Mario Lemina. That should give you some perspective first and foremost. Then if you need better perspective, consider within Britain that Chelsea paid 3m for Robert Fleck, Arsenal paid the same 3m for Martin Keown, Leeds 3m for Rocastle, Man City 3m for Terry Phelan, Villa 3m for Dean Saunders, Blackburn 2m for Stuart Ripley, even 2m for phucking Kevin Gallacher. . . . you will see that you have goofed strongly comparing Cantona transfer to Kyle Walker. That was a peanut sum for that level of player and was a giveaway from Leeds who wanted Cantona off their books due to his attitude. There is difference between real life experience and Wikipedia extrapolations and assumptions. Don't goof like the erudite trying to do Mathematics ontop football. Those who were around that era know where to place Cantona, it was a middling signing for peanuts and cannot make the top 30 worldwide signings of that year. All you need to know about Roy Keane transfer fee of £3.75m is that Daniel Amokachi moved for not too dissimilar amount 12 months later. British transfer market has always been a conservative one where transfer prices move up by a couple of grand each year in the early 1990s. Roy Keane fee will not enter top 50 worldwide transfers to that date and was not dissimilar to what other EPL clubs were paying at the time. |
afrodoc2:No mind that clown. I just dey read his half-baked analogies. Fergie would only break the bank for few first teamers. Fergie teams always contained the Solskjaers, Ronny Johnsens, David Mays, Roy Keanes, Park Ji Sung, Schmeichel, Vidic, Evra, Rafael, Fabio, Sheringham, Denis Irwin, Cantona etc who he bought for relative peanuts. Ocassionally he would the break the bank for Veron, Ruud, Rio, RVP etc. . . but he would only make one big signing per season usually. Them want compare to Fraudiola that will sign 5 or 6 blockbusters per year, but gets disgraced when not afforded the opportunity to have 11 blockbusters like last season. |
CapitalCee:No mind them. Let them keep spinning stories. |
BushWickBill:£450m defence! |
Raumdeuter is correct. Schuster was sacked. Even when Mourinho was sacked in 2016, it was by mutual consent. Mutual consent is just another word for sacking. If a coach leaves before the end of his contract into unemployment, he has been sacked. Nothing like mutual agreement. The only agreement they come to is how much to pay him to sack him. The last coach I know to resign voluntarily in the middle of his contract without seeking compensation is Kevin Keegan in the mid-2000s. |

chic2pimp:Nah I rather stay around those Broadwater guys cos they are business men who won't trouble you unless you are involved in their business. I don't know about now cos I understand they are into postcode wars these days, whereas in my time they did business across several hoods. Even back then, I much fear your hood NPK guys cos they were into senseless violence and postcode nonsense. My very good friend stayed in NPK at the last W3 bus stop. Anytime I go there, I walk with eyes at the back of my head cos those niggas always looked ignorant. |

This list is not serious. Davido is dreaming of making N30bln ($75m) while Mohammed Indimi (Indimis son) was showing $100m in his bank account. Adelekes cannot make top 50 families in Naija. |
koolcat:Dangote is part of Dantata family which came 1st. |
Nihilstjnr:Yeah, they had some link cos Lisa Maffia was dating Lambies cousin who used to run his Wood Green to Hornsey operation. Wouldn't be suprised if some of So-solid were running his South London operation. |
Nihilstjnr:Headie is Broadwater farm. That's the other end of Tottenham, not related to this beef. That crew is an ol gee crew that have been active since the 1980s. I know many ol gee members of that crew cos I used to work as a receptionist at a youth hostel which they controlled and sold drugs from. Mark Duggan was part of that crew, as are all members of North Star, the HipHop group in the early 2000s. That crew was strictly business then, none of this postcode drill nonsense. There was a Nigerian guy called Captain from Harlesden who used to come to our workplace and sell guns from the back of his trunk. He wasn't a dealer, his job was robbing dealers. I swear he was mostly responsible for making Harlesden murder capital of UK then. He went down for kidnap. The father of that crew is Mark Lambie. Police once came with Helicopters to arrest him at my workplace then. He's been in jail since. |
Chic2pimp I hear say that girl wey dem shoot for your ends was affiliated with NPK and na Wood Green mob shoot am. Since I dey London, these two gangs were the most deadly. Even as of 12 years ago, the first time I heard of postcode gangs was some NPK boys raving on the bus how they would murder some rivals. But right from when I enter London in 1999, Wood Green Mob was already a deadly gang with many murders. One of my colleague son who was Mob was already doing life for murder back then. Nile Ranger, the footballer is also Mob, that's why he acts so reckless. I'm just reading about 5 stabbings in Mile End today. Oboy I bless the day I left that town. You need to comot for that NPK oh. |
