Why are people setting up their-selves for heart break? The game at the Etihad can still go against Liverpool and i seriously don't get the jubilation going on here. .

No be here we dey when Barca overcame a 4-0 deficit with a 6-1 win? Yes, its not the same team but this city side are no suckers, when they turn up, THEY TURN UP. . . I do not like City or Guardiola for shitz but they have been the best in the country by miles this season. I refuse to join in any of this premature celebrations until the 2nd leg is concluded.
All this means is we get another chance to celebrate when they get knocked out by Real or Barca next round.

Life is all about taking every opportunity to celebrate.

One cannot fail to celebrate his birthday just because he knows he will die one day.

Has Otamendi entered ground like Boateng yet? Someone watching should update me.

true, but the truth is that lampard fed from a lot of hazard cutback passes and their likes.

If lamps makes 40 such runs into the box with hazard and mata on the pitch, he will score 15, if lampard or hazard make 40 of such run in our team now, they will barely score 5. That is what I am trying to say.
Hazard was not making such runs in years past, but he has increased it in the past two seasons, but no much service for the goals.
I disagree. Lampard will get assists from whoever is in the front line whether Malouda, Kalou, Anelka, Drogba, Hazard or Mata. It's not pretty passes that makes those goals. Alonso whip so many of those cutbacks but Hazard is never on the end of it.

lampard is a goal hungry man. No doubt. But, which players are you talking about that Lamps played with that gave him the assists? I can remember hazard and mata. These are the guys that assisted the bulk of lamps goals. You can check.
Mind you, hazard only played 2 seasons with lamps.
In football when you are goal hungry, you will get your goals from cutbacks, balls bouncing loosely in penalty area, rebound from goalkeeper spilling a shot etc.

You don't need to go looking for an assist specialist to justify why you can't score. The same Ronaldo that score goals with Isco will go to Portugal and score goals with William Carvalho. Na una wey dey fantasise clean pass before a player can score goals. That shows your immaturity in football.

A nigga like Lampard that scores 20+ goals or a nigga like Ronaldo that scores 40+ goals, you can guarantee that 70% of their goals are not those pretty Mata assisted goals you are envisioning. Throw any old ball into the area and players like Lampard and Ronaldo will get there. See goal Ronaldo scored today.

true, hazard does not make many runs for a tap in, but the runs have reduced.

But, that being said, does Chelsea really play like that? Does Chelsea have an efficient attacking pattern like the way they have for defending? For the past few years, how many of our strikers goals are tap ins, talk less of wide midfielders? If hazard is to make a run for a tap in, who will make an effective cross or cut back for a tap in? I have seen many times hazard and many of our strikers have made a good run for a tap in, but the players that are supposed to cross the ball for the tap in will elect to shoot, delay to cross or not cross at all. Then, many times they end up shooting at the player in front of them. You see?
Lampard was playing with these set of players and outscored Hazard often even from a defensive midfield position. Talk another thing.

I don't blame Hazard. If it's not his game, it's not his game. He can tow the Ribery or Iniesta path if he prefers but he should forget Ballon D'or if he refuses to be hungry for goals. He will be relying on luck, team success and favourable journalism to put his name with Ballon D'or contenders if he does not learn to make the correct runs to increase his goal tally. It's a crying shame that he is yet to hit 20 goals once in 6 years despite playing ostensibly as a forward all this time.

You're forgetting that John Stones played in some of those 19 games.

Remove the number of games that John Stones has played in after his Injury and give us the calculation again.

Infact give us the breakdown like this:

Cleansheets with John Stones on the pitch

Cleansheets without John Stones on the pitch

I will wait.

I also don't understand what you mean by the article having no basis in facts. I am more than happy to post the video evidence of each of those brain farts if you want...
No need. With or without Jones brainfarts, City have better or equal record of cleansheets and more than comfortable. Jones is far from the biggest problem at City cos they have got their midfield right. Chelsea should do the same and Christensen/Azpi or Rudiger will become a non-issue. All 3 are better than Otamendi sef. Let's not lose focus. Our biggest problem by far is the vacuum midfielder and the amateur footballer, that's it.

Guarantee which cleansheet? We play the same FPL. The reason you bought the more expensive Otamendi and not Stones was because Otamendi was scoring goals, not because they were keeping cleansheets.

Go back and check it again. There's a reason why nobody had John Stones in the team despite him being the cheapest option on the Man City defence.

In case you don't know, Man City have 3 cleansheets in their last 4 league games.

infact, except for this weekend, the only games where they've Conceded in their last 10 games in all comps had only been in the games John Stones played - Basel, Wigan, Burnley and Leicester.

Spot the common denominator.

Christensen wants to be towing the path of that mugu. Conte should better sort him out.

John Stones has been brainfarting like a mofo. Just like Christensen.
Before John Stones got injured on Nov 18th, 7 clean sheets in 12 EPL games.

After John Stones got injured, 9 cleans sheets in 19 EPL games.

Clearly better record with John Stones.

Nobody was writing about John Stones brainfarts before he got injured on Nov 18, infact his role on England team was not being questioned again. Now he is back, journalists will find something to write about that sells papers, even if it has no basis in facts.

That's why I gave you the example of John Stones. Thank God there's no excuse of pressure valve there.
What was City's position in the table as of when John Stones got injured in December, and who was focussing on John Stones brainfarts then?

Thank God I play FPL. Before Stones got injured in December, City defence used to guarantee me clean sheets almost every game but after he got injured, I stopped getting clean sheet points from City defenders so I sold Otamendi. You can check the stats and get back to me, not quoting journalist looking for topic of discussion to write on.

as a defender, it's one thing to be exposed to forwards due to a lack of midfield screening...

it's a completely different thing to be brainfarting upandan, passing the ball to opposition strikers, missing clearances, or even misplacing a simple backwards pass to the keeper.

One of the reasons John Stones is on the bench today is because despite that great Man city Midfield, he was making all the mistakes I mentioned up there in consecutive games early this year.

Due to Stones incompetence, Pep was forced to buy another centre back in January window as a backup, so that he wouldn't have to rely on Stones when Kompany was injured.

Chris is now suffering from the same disease that Stones has, and we can see the symptoms in every game. He was directly implicated in our loss to Manyoo and Spurs for example.

Midfield is not an excuse for stupid defending, I'm sorry.
What of Azpi? How many brainfarts has he made this season?

It is only when midfield has collapsed that we start focussing on individual defenders mistakes. Azpi must have made 5 or more this season. We didn't see any last season. Chris was best defender in Bundesliga last season. What we don't notice on highlights is midfielders individual mistakes that led to these situations - failure to press, failure to get to opponents, failure to keep possession, failure to hold off opponents on their back etc that leads to these overloads.

John Terry and Cahill looking clueless in 15/16 and with the signing of Kante, Cahill becomes useful again.

If you put most defenders in 1 on 1 situation ten times, they are bound to lose 3 out of ten times. The key is fixing your pressure valve so those situations don't occur.

Replace Fabregas the vacuum midfielder and Bakayoko the amateur footballer with two good midfielders and 80% of Chelsea's problems are over.

Matic is a bag of beans.

Midfield isn't the reason our centrebacks have been brainfarting against their opposition in Key games against top 6 opponents that we ended up losing.

Midfield is also not the reason why both our 9 and our false 9 have been misfiring in recent times.

Ibime has his Fabregas agenda and will always play that card to deflect from the fact that the golden boy Christensen "who would not make a mistake again" has been brainfarting in every single game since Barca first leg.

We have seriously problems in attack and serious problems in defence and goal. Midfield isn't perfect but that's definitely not the only place where we are struggling.
Midfield is a pressure valve that can increase or reduce the burden on defence and strikers. When midfield collapses, every other position will collapse, and even top defenders will start looking hapless like Bonucci, whilst crap defenders like Otamendi can cruise through with good midfield. "The game is won and lost in midfield". When you learn this, you would have learned 80% of what you need to know in football.

Kante, Azp, Bakayoko, Rudiger for Conte

How can Moses be against Conte when Conte made him. Chris cannot be against Conte either. This your info get as e be.

this is a lie. For all i can remember. Chelsea vs Tottenham have mostly been a game of 2 halves.

The season we won the league under Mourinho, we completely dominated them and won 3 - 0. The 2 - 2 draw was a game of two halves. They dominated the first, then we dominated the second. The only one you can say that is a little bit of luck is the last season 2 - 1.
As long as Dembele has been on the pitch, Spurs have dominated us to shege. I don't know all this one you are typing. This result was a long-time coming.

Why didn't he follow lloris too to his goal post?. You don't know anything about football technicality. Rudiger exposed his rear following a midfielder high up.
Rudiger had no reason to follow Eriksen into midfield there. His sense of danger was terrible. Eriksen was even going into Fabregas spot. Rudiger parted red sea there. Smart defender will know that Alonso can never run Son and block the inside.
