Nah Batman killed that move. That is a pass you release at the last second after drawing the defender to yourself. Batman released that pass too early such that the defender had Willian covered.

Willian is doing well. People need to remember he is an AM not a winger by trade. He won't explode past a player, he prefers to make play with the central midfielders

Hererra's bench matter for me, is down to Mhikitaryan playing constantly as a 10 this season. A link I dropped this morning showed that Mourinho played Mhiki as a winger so many times last season, with Pogba given the AM in many matches. In some matches, Mourinho would play Carrick and Herrera as the DMs while Pogba is played behind Zlatan. But with Mhiki back as a 10, Pogba rightfully untouchable, and Matic being Mourinho's adopted son, Hererra and Carrick ended up as the losers.

This is a super story. JM played 2 CMs for most of last season, and again this season. The only difference is Matic benching Herrera.

Size is height and weight. His whole body frame is weak for a defender standing only 6 ft. It get the way your chest go big, you will pin down any striker trying to jump with you even if he is taller than you.

Trust me, Ake is a possession midfielder the few times I saw him. His touch, turn and repetitive passing is great.

I have never considered Ake a central CB just like Azpi can never be considered a CB, only an RCB. For me, Ake is CM, LCB and LB in that order. Playing as CB will expose his lack of height and body weight.

Fabio cannavaro is only about 1.76m yet he was one of the best defenders to ever play. Carvalho is the same height.

Mustafi is just not Epl level, no excuse.

Cannavaro is an exception, and wasn't the main man engaging in aerial duel. He would rather chase the striker in a foot race as he is very fast. Ditto Carvalho.

Mustafi has neither the height to jump with strikers, nor the body mass or strength to lever them off the ball to prevent them jumping, nor the footspeed to play the role of sweeping up after his partner has engaged the striker. I saw nothing in him that made Arsenal shell out that kind of money for him.
