Last season, Lukaku had the most goals against the top 6. This season he doesn't, but of course people will choose whichever of the two stats fits their argument. Lukaku is a big game and a small game player. A physical player like Lukaku will always perform regardless of opposition because physical power does not respect whether you are a top player or average player. He will bully you the same way. You can ask Drogba. |
diggz:Drogba deal to Juve was already agreed for £13m until Chelsea stepped in late after signing Mourinho who asked for him. Marseille smelt a mugu and upped the price to £24m. |
raumdeuter:Nonsense. You mean Zidane scored a dodgy penalty in the semi? Figo was head and shoulders above Zidane in LaLiga and was voted best foreign player in LaLiga, not Zidane. He even won Balon Dor that season and the outcry in Spain was massive that Zidane robbed him. Figo with wastemen like Nuno Homes, Vidigal, Dimas and Abel Xavier was taking France into extra time in the semi. Infact the whole Portugal11 were wastemen except Figo, Rui Costa, Costinha and maybe Fernando Couto. That's enough for me. All fingers are not equal. |
Emaprince:It was Quarter final. Digital deserved WPOTY that year. They gave it to Zidane which was considered a robbery. |
pamcode:They should just covert Barkley to a winger. I've never seen that ninja as a CAM. He just lacks the vision. |
pamcode:Yes, he was an attacking RB, one of the best. Played 5 years for us from 95-2000. Also did very well in World Cup 1994. |
airmark:This line nearly bust my head ![]() |
pamcode:Dan Petrescu |
pamcode:5 out of 7 |
hensben:5 of the top 7 are Chelsea players. |
Greatihex:Gueye is Gana. Idrissa Gana Gueye. Anyway, Gana must go! |
Chelseafan1:He should have used his brain to pull Gueye wide more and leave space through the centre for his teammates. |
We are the Champions. Make Spurs do anything them feel like. |
nateevs:I believe you again ![]() |
Diggz, your boy done score again. Wey day Agbakolly wey dey diss Cahill. He must be smoking Aba kpoli. |
See shot |
Peeeeeeeeeeeeedriiiiiiiitttoooooooo!!! |
nateevs:Once again, I believe you die. I am probably 3 minutes behind. |
Roland17:Good idea, but Costa on the wing na like playing with 10 men |
Hazard should just stay wide to open up the midfield |
Fabregas would give Kirman something else to worry about and also give Hazard free role, let's see if Gueye would follow him to some unconventional positions. Hazard should be able to shake off niggas like Herrera and Gueye though. I can't see a single player manmarking Messi out of the game. |
Have these defenders not heard of dropping 5 yards when dealing with a striker like Lukaku? It's simple. Luiz has to clap him soon as ball comes near him, then Cahill should be 5 yards behind to pick up the drop of the ball. This is basic defending you would learn in a sweeper system. |
So Idrissa Gueye dey man mark Hazard abi |
Elnino4ladies:True talk |
Nihilist:That may be the case but gambling is slightly different. When you start believing your smarter than the average Joe, you will feel your punts are based on research and knowledge rather than addiction. You will see arguments even on this thread saying they use smart methods in their betting, others don't know how to punt, they are not using sense etc. I have seen otherwise stable people blow money on stock trading in the same way. No addictive personality, just believing they have better research or better quants. |
diggz:I know this from experience of loved ones, not myself. I would rather become an alcoholic than a gambler. One of my good friends and football colleague called Kwame got into it. He was a smart boy right from college. We used to call him Calculus. 2004 UCL final, I accompanied him to bookies to place a £2 bet on Monaco v Porto, not knowing this is becoming a serious problem to him. To cut a long story short, I spent the next few years fielding phonecalls from his baby mama on how he is a degenerate dad, he steals money meant for the kids etc etc, and of course he dropped out of uni. Unfortunately for the babymama, she even went and got pregnant a 2nd time when it was already established that he is a degenerate. One day in 2007, we were on our way to play football on Saturday morning, we are already late for the match, he insisted he must stop and place bet. The niggas body was shaking like an addict. His brain was so consumed with the bet (or the shame that he couldn't even hide his addiction from me), he left the money in the ATM. I took the money from the ATM after he had walked away and gave him. It was £20. He walked into the bookies and bet it all. Cut a long story short, I stopped seeing Kwame around 2008, his life had turned into a sorry mess, a vagrant who was getting kicked out from house to house because of his problem. 2 years ago, I learnt his desperation drove him to become a drug mule, trying to fly with cocaine from Ghana to London. Needless to say, they caught him and slapped him with 6 years at her Majesty's Pleasure. 2nd experience, my junior brother was doing OK. He was working at the BBC, had a fiance, his own place, driving Audi TT etc etc etc. He was only 21 and even already had the deposit to buy his first flat. It was around 2007, when his colleagues took him to Casino for a fun night. Around 2008, we started hearing stories from his fiancé that he is becoming a degenerate. He could not account for money budgeted for this and that etc. 2008 Xmas, I called him upstairs and warned him that he will lose his fiancé, his life etc if he does not stop. To cut a long story short, he did not and lost everything but his life. He was sacked from his job for a reason he has not revealed till today, his fiancé kicked him out, he was couch-surfing with God knows who until we went and got him and carried him home to restart his life. He had to stay at home and incubate himself for many years to get himself back on track. We had to pay off so many credit card and bank defaults, red letters were coming through the post everyday. His total debt was around £7k. He struggled to beat his addiction, stealing my parents cash in the house, and even from his new employer that landed him in trouble with the police, but thankfully not in jail. To cut long story short, he was not even allowed access to his own bank account. My popsie had to control his bank account, fill his fuel tank for the week, then give him only £20 for the week. And this is my brother's own money he was working for, yet being babysat like a 3 year old. Cut a long story short, after years of Gamblers Anonymous, micromanagement of his finances and movements, he seems to be alright. But you know with gamblers, you can never tell what they will do when you're not with them. In summary, I advise anyone against gambling. Some people can manage a small weekly involvement and make it seem fun, but they don't tell you about the other side. It is especially bad when your gambling is driven by desperation to make money. In Nigeria now, most of our youths have become degenerates over this gambling stuff. It is mostly due to the socio-economic condition of the country. They act out of desperation just like the MMM participants, but they don't publicised the human cost of this disease in Nigeria. So my advice to all our young men is run away from it, and don't be enticed by these ninjas publicising odds and winnings etc. |
A40:Skillset, AJ can't beat Klitschko. And Klitschkos chin is pretty dependable. He hasn't been TKOd for over a decade. So logic follows that I would back Klitschko for the win cos AJ can only beat him by KO. Make we see if Fury gets back to shape. I would fancy him against AJ. AJ na just clubber Laing. This division ain't shyt bro. My era na the Holyfield, Tyson, Riddick Bowe era. Even the Lewis we considered boring for his low risk, hiding behind his jab approach is more skilled than all these guys. |
bigkesh:No even enter that trap. Just focus on your studies. If these niggas count well, they all lost more than they won. |
A40:I thought Klitschko would win but wasn't sure if it was already prearranged for him to lose. But from the weighin, you could see he had trained seriously for the fight. Anyway, congrats to Joshua. Heavyweight division is nothing to get too excited about these days sha. |
bykebyke:Nothing go change. |
nateevs:This is what gets to the man on the street, but when you study the budget, you will realise that this has very small effect on the taxpayer. It's value to your tax base is only like 1%. The biggest problem in Public spending is always retirees, and growing worse each year with the ageing population. Health comes next. The kind of scenario you described hits the taxpayer for a few billion per year, a drop in the Ocean of public finances and maybe represents a 1% drop in tax for you, but the right-wing radio talkshow hosts will try and spin Dayo to believe it justifies a 10% tax drop for the richest people. Your example is one of lack of incentive, more applicable to areas with expensive property prices or to babymothers where the cost of childcare erases any benefit from working. As long as the UK unemployment rate stays around 5% mark, any job that man turns down will be taken by another with little net effect on the tax base or social security expenditure. His case is only a problem to the taxpayer if there is a surplus of jobs and people like him are refusing to take them. From the figures below, you can see that even if a Government achieves a near-impossible 20% drop in Social Security spend, it will yield minimal tax savings for you.
