homesteady:As long as BBC no call am that one, make our Nigeria based fans suffer the blood pressure for AIT matter |
coogar:So why would British press accord Ashley Cole world class status just because he dealt with a second class winger? Truth is, Ronaldo was already world class and they knew it, that's why they put Ashley in the same class. I can't compare a winger to a striker in 2004, you would defeat my argument with goals statistics. A winger back then in 4-4-2 mindset does not score many goals unlike today where you can compare Rooney and Depays output, back then you simply can't compare wingers output to strikers but watching that tourney, although Rooney was the best striker in that tourney, Ronaldo was the best winger and would be rated higher for that tourney. |
darefestus:LVG has become a defensive coach these last few years. Bayern had flair then but were too easy to play against. The way Inter penetrated their midfield in 2010 final was too easy. You just let Bayern have the ball then counterattack them. It was the introduction of Javi Martinez to their midfield under Heynckes that alleviated their problems on the counterattack. |
Ta! Coogar don't act like Ronaldo wasn't the man in 2004. He made team of that tournament and was Portugals best player. The same English press hating on him were the same ones who crowned Ashley Cole best left back in the world just because he managed to keep pace with Ronaldo in the quarter final. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/england/2381861/Cole-proves-his-point-in-Ronaldo-test.html |
Bruno Ngottty, phucking hell! Some ninjas got elephant memory. |
Zouma is nothing close to a right back or any position except centreback. His deployment in midfield and rightback is due to crass incompetence from players in those positions. That one na temporary measure so no need to stress. Even Tonto Dikeh can see that one. Rightback is nowhere near a problem for me. If I'm to choose a world 11 right now, Azpi would not be far off making the team, depending on if I want an attacking or defensive rightback. Simples. |
coogar:Believe me, I thoroughly enjoyed Ronaldos play back then. All this talk of Ronaldo being frustrating or Rooney rated higher was a campaign from British press who wanted to downplay Ronaldos play on that right wing because he is a flashy foreigner and they were waging campaign on Beckhams behalf that this new boy is not as good as their darling England captain whose position he took. No be the same biased press yarning opata about Rooney now. I'm not a Utd fan so my emotions aren't involved and I can't tell you if he was frustrating to a UTD fan but I know we were all scared of him when we faced him. Part of the frustration may be to do with the fact that Mourinho had just brought a tactical revolution of 4-5-1 to England which no team could compete with and maybe looking for players to blame. Ronaldo at Euro 2004 was already the best 3 European footballers as far as I'm concerned. That's been his best International tournament to date as far as I'm concerned. |
coogar:Ronaldo was not a team player but in a tactical sense, he was the ultimate team player. While Memphis clogs the centre, young Ronaldo would stretch the play and stay wide allowing the passers of the team to dominate the centre. Depay would be fighting Herrera them for space in the centre only to waste it. That's the main tactical difference. Also Ronaldo would so worry the opposition left back, teams would abandon midfield formation to send midfielders to support the left back, creating more space in the centre for Scholes and co. Depay on the other hand clogs the centre. Big difference. Then when Fergie decided to push Ronaldo more central in 2006, he scored so many goals, it doesn't matter if he played tikitaka or not. Depay would need to score 40+ goals to justify such comparison. Otherwise I would rather compare him to Hulk aka dribble and shoot! |
The English must protect their golden boy now. Manure have been accomodating Rooney for over 2 years now. Instead of selling when Fergie wanted to get rid of him, that money miss road Ed Woodward went and succumbed to his financial heist the minute Fergie retired. |
I said it back in May when you guys signed Depay that he is an "as the spirit leads" kind of player and I'm not concerned about his signing. I don't know why ninjas are surprised how he loses possession. He has never been an intelligent team player. .

airmark:I'm not a child. I have seen enough Mikel performances and have had these sorts of conversations over the last 5 years on this thread. Mikel did not suddenly learn how to run in his last 2 performances. The minute someone runs at him like Naismith did few weeks ago, you would see him escorting them while they go and score. He is lucky to play against physically challenged midfield of Charlie Adam and Glenn Whelan in the last game who don't run through the midfield. Even at that, when Charlie Adam ran past Ramires for the Stoke goal, I saw Mikel decelerating behind them where a more physically robust midfielder could have put Adam under pressure after Ramires sold himself foolishly. I will not reopen Mikel argument on here after so many years. He is tried and tested useless. Mikels problem is physical. God will not make a snail fast and fit overnight. Even Lampard at 35 was running 30% further and faster than Mikel. |
I remember when foolish Peter Kenyon gave Paulo Ferreira new contract in 2008 despite every footie fan knowing Ferreira was finished. I moaned on this thread then the same way I'm moaning now. We spent the next 5 years accomodating that wasteman. We've already been accomodating Ramires the last 3 years. We were happy to sell him this summer but no one showed interest except Juventus who did not make a concrete offer. I'm sure the next 4 years contract we gave him will be a curse onto Chelsea. That ninja been ripe for culling. Expect announcement on new Mikel contract soon to double our blood pressure. |
lordfalcao:You never know. . . . In the meantime, I'm starting to understand how Wailing Wailers feel, waiting for From 2010 when he signed to 2019 is a decade. I would quit following Chelsea if he lasts his contract because I can't have a decade of my life suffering torture watching him every weekend. In other clubs, only legends stay for a decade. At Chelsea, we have wastemen like Paulo Ferreira, Mikel and Ramires that stay so long, they qualify for testimonial. |
Chelsea football club is proud to announce that Ramires has signed a new contract until 2019. The season goes from bad to worse. . . |
Odunharry:I no dey laugh anybody jor. That Raumdeuter line just funny. |
raumdeuter: ![]() |
AdeLaNa1:Hahaha. Of all your annoying trolling, this one funny small |
Hahahaha. Field day for Ikedia's trolls. Goodnight! |
Abi Begovic no know these Stoke players legs? |
C'mon Begovic. . . |
TheGoodJoe:Mr man, lemme watch my game in peace. Mikel and Ramires manning my central midfield means Emenalo is a fool and your father is also a fool. Mr "Luis Enrique left Barca to join Madrid". |
TheGoodJoe:Will you shut the phuck up eediot.. Just allow me watch this nonsense team in peace without using a single player I praise as evidence of Emenalos competence. Im sure you have seen the nonsense Ramires and Oscar played and didn't comment on Emenalo. |
See ball Traore dey play here. Good spirit from Kenedy too. Jose should just bench these established uninspired players and give those who are hungry shirt |
Reeeeeeeemyyyyyy!!! FBS, hold the phuck up. Match never finish. Where are you going? |
Has anybody seen our no10 Oscar? No team to carry him, the 'blood of a cockroach' player is not contributing anything. |
This match encapsulates the total uselessness of Ramires. Charlie Adam swatted him like a fly to create Stokes goal. He had a clear counterattack few minutes ago and could not pass the ball in a straight line to play Hazard in on goal. |
Oh my God! See as Ramires spoil a clear 3 on 1 counter by passing the ball behind Hazard. Simple pass he cannot make. Semi professional goat! |
See Oscar counting leg in midfield there Cannot even bring ball under control |
Bring on Traore FFS. What a powderpuff midfield we have. |
You see what Airmark has caused on this thread? Dragging that jobless troll with the brain capacity of a firefly to this thread. How many teams have made the UCL semis 7 times and final twice in the last 12 years with only one UCL to show, losing to ghost goals, poor refereeing, last minute spot kicks etc on the way? |
The effervescence of youth. . . . .
|
Of course he is young. . . he is so young, he no fit run. . . .that's why they call him . . . .
