TheGoodJoe:Of course they would protect their brother . . . . . but when caught offguard, they would shout out their "big brother". |
TheGoodJoe:The fact that 99.9% of Nigerian footballers remove at least 5 years from their age is enough for me to write him off. . . . |
TheGoodJoe:No need to go far. . . . https://www.nairaland.com/1263820/fans-mikel-obi-made-us

TheGoodJoe:Not when the Technical Director keeps arguing against and vehemently resisting signings in the key area of the team that is weak. . . despite manager after manager pushing him to sign central midfielders. You cannot give a man eggs, butter and sugar and ask him to bake a cake when flour is missing. Even if the eggs are from Waitrose, once the flour is missing, he has failed in his job. He is tactically unaware and incompetent. Any 4 year old can sign who dribble the most. Knowing the needs of the team is the key attribute of a technical Director. If he doesn't meet the needs of the team, he has failed, no matter how many fancy wingers he signs. |
TheGoodJoe:The GoodJoe, Thunder fire you their and all your friends lying to protect Mikel's old age. See Fifa squad list for U-17 2003 World Cup. Mikel was already listed at 191cm which is 6ft 3 inches. Wikipedia lists him at 6ft 2 inches today. You want come yarn us say Mikel grew 4 inches from 2003 to 2006. Nonsense!
|
TheGoodJoe:Any ninja can claim anything. Many ninjas on NL have come to claim that their friends in SE are young, only for them to go bald and lose their legs at 25. I know a ninja that claim Mikel used to play on their uni field and he senior them. Never mind the fact that Mikel can't run which my eyes tell me clearly. I will take P Square's word who are 33 years old and played with Mikel at Pepsi academy, and call him their senior brother. Before a 33 year old call a 28 year old senior bros, you know say age is involved. |
TheGoodJoe:Lie from the pit of Hell. Mikel was 6ft 2in when he signed and 6ft 2in today. He has never been 5ft 10 at Chelsea. See FM profile 2006 and Chelsea team photo 2006. See Mikel back row heighting Ballack. You are a Liar!

TheGoodJoe:One thing Emenalo should understand is that we all love attacking football. Attacking football cannot function without the right base to support it. Hazard and Oscar cannot commit to making an attacking run if they know that the midfield cannot pick up the pieces if there is a turnover in possession. Even today, while I blame our struggles this season mostly on Mourinhos psycho personality and poor preseason, I know that if our central midfield had been upgraded over the years, we would play ourselves out of this situation. Can you imagine Hazard, Pedro and Willian not making forward runs if they know that two or three solid midfielders are behind them? Even in Mourinhos last 2 years, Willian and Hazard do too much defending cos Mourinho is protecting a weak midfield. In the days of Makelele, Essien and Lampard. . . Duff and Robben just run forward anyhow knowing the midfield is solid. You cannot build attacking football on weak defensive foundation. That's just it. I believe if Matic, Witsel, Lassana Diarra etc were patrolling our midfield this year, we would have played ourselves out of this crisis long ago. I have seen Chelsea team that hated Avram Grant that did not lose a single EPL game apart from his first game cos the midfield was so solid. Emenalo has done untold damage to this team over the years. Today if Matic is off-form, there should be two midfielders that can bench him with no problem. That's just it. Finally, Mikel is an old man. Just forget patriotism please. We Nigerians like lying to ourselves but man cannot cheat age. He has no business at Chelsea or any top club. Even P Square call him "big brother" from their days at Pepsi academy and they are 33 years old. All his mates like Taye Taiwo, Promise Isaac, Chinedu Obasi etc have almost retired and are rendered useless by old age. He should go and rest. |
TheGoodJoe:It is not even if, that is exactly what happened. You can go watch the youtube highlights if you doubt. Emenalo has signed enough wingers. There is no reason for anyone to play Ramires on the wing if not for a tactical imbalance. Oscar had to ride bench for almost half the season for Ramires to play that wing. It is a fact that Ramires cannot control central midfield. His passing, touch, vision and strength at shielding the ball is too poor to control midfield for a top team. I supported the move to push him wide because his energy and running can be better utilised there. Who is the fool is the Technical Director who thought Ramires is a top level central midfielder and allowed Chelsea to go into a season with just Mikel and Ramires as central midfield. A 34 year old Lampard who had played most of his career as an AM dropped back, and played that position better than them in tandem with a central defender (Luiz). Vs Napoli, RDM played Ramires left wing in both legs. Vs Barca, RDM played Ramires right wing in both legs (and right back when JT got sent off) Vs Bayern, RDM played Ramires right wing. Thats how the UCL was won in 2012. Ramires has never been successful as a central midfielder for Chelsea. It has been failure after failure in that position since 2010 when Emenalo recommended him to replace Ballack. Every manager shifted him to the wing till JM benched him and won the league When you don't support a club and follow them closely, you see all these fancy attacking players and think the Technical Director is doing well. We wey know the koko will tell you the hurt that eediot has caused us over the years. Costa, Hazard, Fabregas, Matic and Terry won us the league last season. Not one of those players was signed by that eediot. |
TheGoodJoe:You are a doofus. I don't like arguing with eediots what I watched and what you are googling 2 years later. You can go and watch the highlights of that game and watch the position of the players. Lampard and Luiz were in the pivot, Hazard was AM, Moses was left-wing and Ramires was right-wing. Bloody google analyst. You have from Feb/March till season end to go googling. We the Chelsea fans who know how our midfield struggled that season will tell you Benitez rejigged the team, put Luiz and Lampard in midfield and pushed Ramires to right-wing. That was how we turned around a season where we went from 6th place to 3rd because we were struggling to qualify for UCL with Emenalos midfield that was getting torn apart every game. Oya go googling again. |
TheGoodJoe:Mumu, look at that line up again. Lampard and Luiz are your central midfield pivot. Goodjoe, once again shut your phucking mouth. You've gone from telling us that Pirlo, Xavi and Busquets are your favourite central midfielders to defending a bozo like Ramires. Does it even feel right justifying a player like Ramires to you? Both Ramires and whoever thought he is a credible central midfielder for a top club should go to hell. |
TheGoodJoe:Mourinho has benched him the last year which coincides with our only title win in 5 years. Most managers play him on the wing, from Benitez to RDM. Ramires was in the Brazil squad so that makes him good? When we who sabi football where watching Brazil in Confed Cup in 2009, we were asking what this fool is doing in Brazil team, then they told us that Dunga plays him on the right wing to cover for Dani Alves attacking runs. The same Ramires that every Brazil manager keeps chasing away from a dire Brazil team that is lacking central midfielders. Can Ramires play football? Goodjoe, shut your phucking mouth. I have had enough of your stupidity. Goodnight. |
TheGoodJoe:Sparta? Why you no bring the final line up against Benfica. Can you not see that Benitez is resting his most important midfield of Luiz and Lampard (who he cannot function without) in an easy game. Mikel and Ramires were on the verge of finishing Chelsea in 6th place that season, until Benitez drafted in Luiz and Lampard into the midfield to see us through to 3rd place. Nonsense. |
TheGoodJoe:Mikel is one of the players who would have been sold years ago if he did not have his Igbo brother protecting him and giving him new contracts even when Chelsea did not have a manager eg in November 2012. Ancelotti benched Mikel for Essien AVB benched Mikel for Romeu Benitez benched Mikel for Luiz Mourinho benched Mikel for Kurt Zouma If any other central midfielder had been disgraced so much that even defenders are preferred to him, he would have quit Chelsea out of shame, but why do that when your Igbo brother is protecting you and giving you new contracts without even consulting managers. Mikel is 34 years old now, he might as well sit tight and collect long contract from Chelsea while playing 5 mins every 3 weeks than go to another club where playing week in, week out will expose his old age. No be the same Mikel that was ahead of P Square in Pepsi Academy and P Square are 33 years old. Goodjoe, thunder fire the hand wey you dey carry type for that keyboard. Come carry this old man wey no fit run go whichever club you support. |
TheGoodJoe:It is not central midfield, which is the crux of this conversation. Benitez "benched" him from the position where Emenalo crowned him due to his incompetence in that position. |
Ibime:Take note of the 5 men who every single Chelsea fan agrees won Chelsea the title last season. Not a single one of them is an Emenalo signing. And one dude will be yarning opata. What a great Technical Director who leaves his team tactically unstable and unbalanced every year. It took someone who knows football to tell him, "you sign a lot of dribblers but we cannot win the league without these key players" Technical Director of wingers. |
TheGoodJoe:On the wing! This is why I said I don't like arguing with 4 year old Children who don't know football. Benitez central midfield was David Luiz and Lampard. He quickly realised Emenalos boys are incompetent. Emenalo had to go and brief Mourinho on his first day back at Chelsea prompting Mourino to say "I will never play David Luiz in central midfield". 3 months later, Mourinho was begging David Luiz to play midfield. |
TheGoodJoe:We wouldn't win last season's title without Costa, Fabregas, Hazard, Matic and Terry. Take one of Emenalo's "boys" and replace Matic, and you will see Chelsea finishing in 3rd or 4th position. Mikel was winning the title from the bench. |
TheGoodJoe:"From his early playing days at Vitesse he has primarily played in an attacking role, however, has matured in his ability to play in a deeper defensive role" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marco_van_Ginkel Another addition to Emenalos attacking midfield contingent who was robust enough to convert himself into a deeper position. But then I don't expect you know much football, afterall you told me earlier today that Luis Enrique transferred from Barca to Madrid when every football follower knows it is the opposite. I used to watch Van Ginkel at Vitesse. There is a reason he scored 12 goals in his final season there. He did not score them playing defensive midfield, I can assure you. |
TheGoodJoe:Matic has won the league for Chelsea, and competed for the title in Mourinho's first season. It is only because of Matic that we can be talking about title. Emenalo's midfield have been finishing 3rd and 4th every year, barely sneaking into UCL qualifying spot. TheGoodJoe:All hail the FA Cup! |
TheGoodJoe:Stop being silly. Oscar is rubbish then and rubbish now. That blind bat couldn't spot a pass if it stared him in the face. There is a reason Brazil fans say Oscar has the blood of a cockroach. Besides is he a central defensive midfielder? Romeu was clearly signed by AVB in 2011, along with Meireles. If I list Emenalo signings from start of his tenure till now, you will see about 20 wingers/attacking midfielders, 5 or 6 defenders and no central defensive midfielders. Till today he is still signing Adrians and co. Emenalo has not signed a central defensive midfielder of his own accord for the first team since 2010. Every manager has argued with him about it and he keeps virulently resisting it. What kind of a Technical Director is that that cannot see the team's needs. Incompetent eediot. |
TheGoodJoe:If you think Mikel fulfils the primary functions of a midfielder, we can discuss no further. Emenalo should go and buy all the attacking players for Wenger. Wenger has not one anything substantial in 11 years despite having the best wingers and attacking midfielders in the Premiership. The last time Wenger won any major trophy, he had Gilberto Silva, Vieira and Edu patrolling his midfield. They would soak all the pressure, then counter-attack swiftly with Pires, Henry and Ljungberg. Wenger has not won a dime since he ditched that strong central midfield philosophy. The only ninja giving him hope recently is Coquelin, otherwise it would be the same Old Arsenal we have been seeing. |
TheGoodJoe:Van Ginkel was also an attacking midfielder at Vitesse, neither was he signed for the first team. When he got to Chelsea and saw that Emenalo had filled the team with 100 attacking midfielders, the coach and himself decided it's best if he start learning DM. He was a box-to-box player, mostly an AM at Vitesse. Until you understand that Emenalo will do everything to protect Mikel (his countryman who supported him when Grant brought him in and Ancelotti sidelined him) and Ramires (his first recommendation to Roman as Head Scout), you will just be yarning opata. |
TheGoodJoe:You are a 4 year old boy. I guess Emenalo was responsible for RDM's tactical genius in winning the UCL against all odds with a rag tag bunch of players. Mind you, Emenalo had not even started influencing that team. While RDM was winning UCL, Emenalo was one of the haters briefing the board that he didn't win it the right way. Name the Xavi, Pirlo and Scholes that Emenalo has signed. You would be telling us about Marko Marin and auxilliary wingers who do not control the centre of the pitch. You forgot that Barca control possession from the centre of the pitch and have killers like Messi and Guardiola had players like Toure's and Seydou Keitas to go with supreme midfield controllers like Xavi and Busquets. Pirlo had Vidal, Marchisio and Pogba bodyguarding him. Meanwhile Emenalo would be expecting headless Ramires and snail Mikel to control Chelsea's tempo. |
TheGoodJoe:I don't have time to search for links for you. I have posted them on this thread severally. Di Matteo said the midfield is light and he asked for Wanyama. He was dismissed by Emenalo and told that Mikel, Ramires and 34-year old Lampard is sufficient to challenge for Europe and EPL. Benitez asked for central midfielder and was shouted down in the boardroom by Emenalo. JM immediately he joined Chelsea went for meeting with Emenalo and came out to say that David Luiz should not be playing midfield (after Emenalo had briefed him). 2 months later, Jose was begging David luiz to play midfield. There is a clear pattern of an eediot technical Director who has signed dozens of wingers/Attacking midfielders and has never wilfully signed a central midfielder for the first team in 4 years as a TD. |
TheGoodJoe:Who is Busquets and Xavi in Chelsea team? Fool Emenalo was on Chelsea training ground in 2012 summer when Chelsea didn't have a manager telling journalists he is building the team around 3 dribblers behind Torres with Mikel and Ramires as his midfield pivot. 3 months later Chelsea was knocked out of UCL group stage, the way Shakhtar and Juve raped Mikel and Ramires! Someone has Xavi and Busquets. Another eediot is planning a world class team around Mikel and Ramires! Mikel and Ramires, 2 central midfielders so poor that Benitez and Mourinho consecutively had to bench them and beg David Luiz and Zouma to play midfield. GoodJoe, this is your final warning. My next response to you will not be kind. |
TheGoodJoe:All this one wey you dey yarn na nonsense. AVB signed Meireles. As soon as AVB wasn't around and Emenalo had full control, he sold Meireles. Di Matteo and Benitez fought vociferously with Emenalo to try to get a central midfielder which Emenalo opposed vehemently. Consequently, every team just steamrollered through Chelseas midfield while Hazard and co were dribbling themselves on the wing. Emenalo in full control of this team sees the team finishing 3rd and 4th every season, worrying about qualifying for UCL till April CLEARLY! It took for Jose to come and draft Matic for Chelsea to challenge for the title in his 1st season and win the title the next year. It is a great struggle to get any central midfielders into Chelsea team because of Emenalos incompetent interference. Anyone who thinks Emenalo knows anything about creating a winning team is as big an eediot as he is. A technic al Director who has signed 100 wingers for the first team and not one central midfielder in 4 years. Only 4 year olds and people who started watching football recently think the wingers are the best players and wingers alone create a winning team. Football is not PlayStation! |
TheGoodJoe:The same 'artists' that got Chelsea knocked out of UCL Group stage for the first time in the club's history. A team that habitually struggle to finish in the top 4. If you think football is PlayStation where you sign hundred wingers and no 'midfield mechanics', then you are as incompetent as Emenalo. Goodjoe, that eediot has caused me years of frustration as a Chelsea fan. His name alone raises my HBP. Dont just start. . .if not I will not be held responsible for control over my tongue with you. |
TheGoodJoe:There's nothing flawless about it. Don't get me started. Name a central midfielder in your list! Start from there. Emenalo just signs who dribbles the most and knows nothing about creating a team. Firstly, he didn't sign Mata or Hazard. Mata was AVBs request and Hazard was Romans favourite. Oscar is rubbish and he paid £25m for him. He sold Matic to sign David Luiz. David Luiz is a calamity defender. Kenedy is rubbish as is Cuadrado who he signed. The only genuine talent he signed is De Bruyne. And he didn't even know how good De Bruyne was. The season he recalled De Bruyne from loan, he went to sign Willian and Schurrle for £30m and £18m. De Bruyne was a small boy in his eyes and he flooded the team with Mata, Oscar, Hazard, Willian and Schurrle at the same time he recalled De Bruyne. Those of us who know football knew De Bruyne was the best of that bunch but he didn't stand a chance when the Technical Director floods the team with £30m signings, the £7m man won't get a chance to play. Unfair competition chased De Bruyne away from Chelsea. Emenalo has not signed a first central midfielder of his own accord in 4 years as technical director when every idiot knows central midfield is the weakest area in Chelsea's team. He should be castrated in public! We have a Technical Director who is completely tactically inept and only signs dribblers. You even mentioned Marin, Torres and Mikel as good players that Emenalo favours!!!! Please don't get me started Goodjoe. I no want curse pesin papa today. |
lordfalcao:Not when Emenalo took Roman from losing £60m a year to the point where Chelsea hit breakeven. Roman will never sack Emenalo. Emenalo is a good business man, but a lousy football tactician. Roman doesn't know football, so he is just hapy that he is not losing money anymore. |
TheGoodJoe:He might be accepted given that he didn't make any enemies in Catalonia during his time at Madrid. I don't see him returning to Chelsea though. Not after the Ray Wilkins affair. He also probably wouldn't work under Emenalo after he sidelined and ignored Emenalo for a year when Roman forced Emenalo on him as his assistant to spy in the dressing room. It got so bad, Emenalo ran to Nigerian press to accuse him of racism. I can't see him coming back to answer to Emenalo. Nor to work for Roman who sacked him in the dressing room. |
TheGoodJoe:Wrong. He left Madrid to go to Barca. Barca fans will always love him for that. |
