Make we knack am akpako? |
FBS: ^^^ it was for that same reason the belgium national coach benched him. the boy just no dey defend. that left hand side was just like a basket. But I thought he's supposed to press better since he's not built like a tower ![]() |
. . . . Santi's miss was da bomb !!!.
That would be the umpteenth clear chance he has missed this season. but to be fair, I don't think that's the reason his goal stats are traditionally low, it must be cos he's a defensive midfielder ![]() |
Rdm needs to have a word with hazard. He's starting to Pisa me off. He was directly responsible for the first two goals today and his laziness contributed to the 3rd goal. Add the goal conceded against Arsenal and no team can afford to carry such player who has caused 4 goals already in just 14 games if we count the Donetsk game as well. I'm sure if I study the Atletico match as well I would find goals for which Hazard was culpable. It's a simple matter. just follow the fullback. You don't have to tackle him, just present a barrier to him. Even Mata knows this but Hazard is just taking the piss. No wonder Marc Wilmots always benches him. |
Not a great week but at least I beat ma opponent |
Well I've never had a problem with Howard Webb cos he's a good common sense referee and I know many other foolish refs in the prem. We've just seen one of those eediots today. |
Come on Chelsea!!! |
Hard Lesson learned by ipukulu - rvp is fixture proof. |
Hazard costs Chelsea yet another goal |
can we please talk about sheke kepper
The way Tevez bailed out a flailing Man City against Swansea whilst Torres was the worst player for a failing Chelsea in Donetsk is enough to tell you that if Chelsea continue to carry passengers, it will one day become terminal when our midfielders fail to fire. |
I was not able to cast my vote as I was otherwise occupied. I think the debate was loaded in Katsumotos favour and he capitalised. The only drawback was the length of his argument. He could have reduced the amount of words assigned to historical antecedents by consolidating them with his original premise a lot quicker. Obinoscopy did a good job defending his stance but there were quite a few grammatical errors in his submission. He did a decent job accentuating the positives of the union with regard to Financial and Military power. He made a good argument that tribes were already consolidating before the introduction of the British and pointed to other peoples who have managed to build successful countries despite ethnic heterogenity. Katsumoto hit back strongly with the riposte that other amalgamations were fused together through time and conquest. If I was in Obinoscopy's shoes, I would have challenged the audience to see themselves as Nation builders at a very delicate and precarious time, pointing to the difficulties faced by similar nations in assimilating different peoples to form one nation. I would have charged the audience with the burden of history, drawing inference from two other African Nations who have successfully fused different tribes together to form a cohesive union, namely Tanzania and Ghana (Tanzania most notably). I would not have used the Spain example as their union is not without its troubles presently, however I would have presented an alternative through which Nigeria could keep the Financial and Military gains of the Union whilst keeping tribal autonomy through a loose federation. In addition, Katsumotos argument that Nigeria was formed by "companies and corporate interest" was vital. This debate would be incomplete without pointing to the fact that Nigeria is a union borne primarily out of the venture capitalism of individual companies, not a grand design of British Government Policy whose only inital involvement was to issue charters to any Seafaring Pirate brave enough to conquer land and fortune in the King's name. I would have given other examples of autonomous people who were split just because they fell into the hands of different companies eg the Banda Islands, the SeneGambians etc. Overall, Katsumoto gets this. |
Arsenal 03/04 was not a tippy happy team but a counterattacking team who wait for transitions. What else would anyone call Gilberto Silva and Vieira who soak up pressure the counterattack from box to box in 5 passes with wingers like Ljungberg whose only job is to make diagonal run behind the defence for tap in. Arsenal started switching from counterattack to tippy happy in 04/05 when Fabregas was given shirt and later joined by Hleb, Rosicky and Denilson. Hector Cuper is the most boring manager ever. Never can tippy happy be ascribed to any of his teams and definitely not to his kind of midfielders like Baraja, Albelda, Mendieta aka thou shalt not pass. Atletico Madrid central midfield of two from Koke, Gabi, Thiago and Suarez is the ultimate water carrying midfield and has nothing to do with tika taka. In an average game, Atletico will not create more than 4 chances and will nit concede more than 1 chance per game. |
Atletico Madrid is a counterattacking side with two rigid defensive midfielders. They don't even send anyone across the halfway line except the two forwards and one or both wingers. Mochengladbach is also counterattacking and were characterised by two man breaks of Mike Hanke and Marko Reus, sometimes backed by Juan Arango. Same goes for Spurs who play better away from home as they are so counterattacking. Dortmund is certainly counterattacking just that they have a better playmaker or two. The only teams I know playing barca style at the moment are Ajax, Roma, Sporting Lisbon, Bilbao, Benfica, Arsenal, Villarreal, Swansea, Liverpool, Blackpool and Middlesborough. Others to a lesser extent include Getafe (especially under Laudrup), Bayern Munich at varying times (esp under LVG), Racing Santander of couple years back (haven't been following em too close recently), Chelsea under Scolari and Ancelotti, Schalke and one or two others intermittently. |

blink182: Nigerian babes be truthful, and stop mentioning trivial things. The op asked for the most silly thing. All the sucking and eja culating in your mouth, all the aborted babies for guys you know won't marry you. All the strangers you phucked, all the one night stands, all the gang banging, all the cheating, sex and blow jobs in public places, come on give life to this thread with your filthy escapades.lol. |
I figured this compo would eat only 5 minutes in my week, so why not chop these guys with ma superior knowledge of European footie? ![]() |
The modern day tippy tappy is largely based on the defensive midfielder or no4. Whilst people might point to likes of Guardiola or Fernando Redondo as progenitors of posession-domination from the no4 position, the idea of modern day tippy tappy has only been overwhelming in the last 10 years, and the father is Xavi. Since then, we see the likes of Busquets, Leon Britton, Joe Allen et al playing strictly to this blueprint, the main prerequisite of which is brilliance on the half-turn when receiving the ball from the back four. There is no superiority of one style over the other except for this idea that the no 4, using the simple half-turn can suffocate the life out of the opposition by denying them oxygen. Apart from this, both direct and tippy tappy teams have skillful players in the final third whether they come in the form of Robben, Duff, Nani, Rooney, Mata or Hazard. |
I thunk a better debate coulda been chosen than the amalgamation debate. Current issues woulda been best suited and woulda been better at forming public opinion such as: (1.) Fuel subsidy: for or against (great socio-economic arguments coulda been had here) (2.) Gains/demerits of CBN policies under Sanusi (3.) 6-3-3-4 school system vs any other (4.) Proposals for a SNC (open debate) (5.) Parliamentarian vs Presidential system pros and cons (6.) Human Development under Civilian vs Military regime etc etc etc |
Katsumoto: Second, the size of the GDP of both countries also matter. If Sao Tome and Principe grows at 50% for the next 100 years, it will not get close to China.Maths cannot be your strong point. If Sao Tome grows at 50% for 100 years, it will have a GDP greater than the rest of the world put together including Mars, Jupiter, Pluto and Venus. |
Marines on top. . . . |
1025: chelsea have been playing with 10 men in most of their games this season. the clubs needs a no nonsense striker in the likes of falcao or demba ba. there is a missing link upfront and the idea of playing beautiful football without a drogba or etoo as it is now in chelsea is unacceptable and can let flexible fans like me to start sourcing for my next destination.Funny guy!! It doesnt matter which style of footie is employed. The only requirement is use your players to their maximum strengths (something AVB failed to grasp), score goals at the opponents end and keep the defence solid. As long as you dont play Wimbledon/Stoke football, every other form of footie is good as long as it wins matches. |
Shall we add Andre Santos to the list of failures like Squillaci, Chamhakh, Merte-sack-her, Denilson, Hitzlsberger and other "proven internationals" whose signings (and potential signings) were rubber-stamped by the grammar meister? ![]() |
Dede1: There is no doubt Nigeria is filled with trolls with no seemly changes in sight. Even the young generations of Nigeria are dafter and abler to commit the same blunders than their forbearers. It is pure laughable to assemble group of so-called debaters and judges on issue such as Sir Frederick Lugard’s 1914 amalgamation when the participants are mostly “copy and paste” addicts or thought Lokoja was capital of anything. This is why dede1 should have been chosen as a debater |
Why does he need permission from govt? Which capital market did he raise $30bln from? Make we hear word jor |
5alive: x=20-2/5You must have hated your maths teacher. |
Heathen: Another shyte display, good God! What is going on?! Who is responsible for this?Diaby |
El Guapo: The Words In Bold got u sounding Like Ibime SeriouslyYou are new Chelsea fan. Quaresma barely signed before Scolari was sacked. Ibime does not subscribe to any style of footie. Don't forget Chelsea was the most flair team in England when ibime became a fan 16 years ago. |
