The blood of Kalio is crying out. My heart breaks to find out Tekena and Lloyd (Kalio boys) are 19 years old.

If you watch one of the other videos, the guttural scream of Ugonna after all his friends had died is haunting. He cried like a child.

Meanwhile, The Chief of Aluu arrested is named as Alhaji Hassan Walewa.

Does that sound like Ikwerre name?

cheddarking: From what I've heard so far, it seems like these boys were gangbangers that got caught slippin'

Listening to the lyrics of their song, one of the guys talks about how he's "let the hate penetrate" and tries to justify kidnapping and robbery.

I'm not saying they deserved such a brutal demise, but death is an ever present danger if you choose to play 'The Game'.

Like Lil Wayne said "Be Good, or Be Good at It"
You got the wrong lyrics there. Those lyrics dont show anything.

There are some of their lyrics which point to them as Mafia (Family confraternity), which combined with Playahp's press release from the Mafia community and corroboration from one of their brothers associates made me believe the account that they are Mafians (although not hundred percent conclusive).

Big L - Red rose in the pocket of my black suit/ If you dont like it, then atchoo (spitting).

Then the cover for their single (Family Affair) depicting family and mafia insignia:

https://twitter.com/i/#!/tipsy_tipsy/media/slideshow?url=pic.twitter.com%2FATIcKUMh

Those are what made me believe the story that they are mafians, plus the nature of their midnight parade. Young men dont usually gather in such groups (allegedly with weapons) at that time of night except made men.

I dont think anyone should be painting picture of them as "christians" so as to defend them. Lets accept what they prolly are, then question whether their fate was justice or barbarism.

They are prolly mafians, and that does not excuse the utter barbarity we saw happen to them. How many boys in PH could claim to be cleaner than them? If they are guilty, then quarter of all PH young men are guilty too.

soundtruth: @tpia

little by little people who know the boys are speaking about the other side of them their families never want revealed.
What did they say? Can you elucidate?

Still, nothing justifies the treatment those boys received.

Although I'm almost hundred percent sure these boys are mafians from their twitter and songs, what they get up to is no different from 25% of PH boys.

Those boys were just on "university runs" and got killed barbarically.

These boys are not saints but neither are we.

Some people are looking for guilt in the boys so they can rationalise the barbarism they saw.

What we know so far. . .

After several killings, robberies and rapes over the last few months, Aluu community approached rivers state government for permission to set up a vigilante as police were not protecting them. They even gave them uniforms to wear so everyone in the community knows these are defenders of the community.

Q: did rivers state government set any rules of engagement for the Aluu vigilante or where they happy to let the vigilante administer justice through the traditional system ie tyre necklace

5 young men show up in their community at 4.45am with arms. Someone shouting tief tief. They ask these men what is their mission in the community and the men give different accounts.

Q: if the men were there to simply collect money from someone who owes them, why give different accounts?

Which is what makes me believe the allegation that these boys were cultists.

More facts emerge. . . . seems these guys were set up. . . .

Slaughter of Uniport Students: Monarch, 13 others Arrested, More Details

The brutal beating, burning to death and video taping of the four University of Port Harcourt students whose names were reported Ugonna, Lloyd, Tekana and Chidiaka was the result of official vigilante work setup by the community and authorized by the Rivers State government.

As gathered, the community of Aluu had experienced series of robberies and rampart killings – of which include rape of women and other violent crimes.

The community which has been describe as a low income area populated by ex-militants – was said to take the rampart armed robberies and killings by the bull – and in so doing the vigilante group set up a heightened watch over the community.

On the morning of the given day, believed to be Thursday or Friday [October 4 or 5, 2012], the community got information that the robbers had entered the community and had begun operations. Information had it that the robbers were tipped of a wealthy man that had arrived to the community.

Within the information of robbers having arrived to the community, the vigilante men were said to have blocked all entrances and exits of the community. At about 4:45am, the boys were nabbed by the vigilante men. They were five [5] at the time the vigilante approached them but one managed to escape.

The four boys were then dragged to the community head [Monarch] – where they were presented to him and questioned. During questioning, the stories of the four boys were said not to tally together. And so the beatings began. They were undressed and moments later they offered a “confession”.

Following the said “confession” the community head ‘gave’ the signal. An eyewitness said he gave a nod to the vigilante men who were dressed in a uniform – white and blue polo shirt.

The four boys were then paraded around the community while being beaten. The parade ended at a square where they were displayed to the community. The people of community gathered to watch the beating of the four boys – who the Monarch had given the blessing for the lives to be taken.

As the beating continued – some within the community were said to have pleaded on behalf of the boys – asking that their lives be spared. But the pleadings fell on deaf ears. The beating continued till the vigilante men poured petrol on the boys and lit them on fire – with tires hanging on their necks.

They burned alive. And as they burned, none of the members of the community moved to save them.

The school administration is yet to make a comment on the incident but the head of the ASU Port Harcourt Branch, Dr. Adiele [a lecture at Uniport] told 247ureports.com that he was not aware of the incident and that he is confident that the incident was not at Uniport or involving Uniport students. The student government is yet to speak on the case.

Interestingly, the police have made arrests. Thirteen persons have been arrested including the Chief of the Community, stated the Police Public Relations Officer [PPRO]; Ben Ugwuegbunam. “The suspects are being interrogated by crack detectives from SCID department”.

The police also pleaded with the Uniport students to reman calm.

The students are reportedly on rampage, burning markets houses and attacking the community members some of who watched and filmed the horrendous killing of the students with their phones.

Someone else is now claiming the fifth man later succumbed to gunshot wounds and died. . . .

As a journalist I went on an investigative journalism and my findings was that d guys are not thieves but cultist on a mission to kill the leader of their cult group. These guys are from rich homes, two of them move on jeeps. They were incensed by the overbearing attitude of their cult leader and decided to topple him. Not knowing that the place was in the radar by some resolute vigilante boys following persistent handset theft and rape, five of them embarked on a journey around 3am with their axe and knife on hand trying to gain entry into their targets abode. The target who is their cult leader was however sensitive enough to notice their presence and started screaming - 'thief, thief' which attracted the attention of the vigilante who rounded them off. One out of the five cult guys escaped allbeit with a gunshot wound he sustained from the vigilante while trying to escape. It was this 5th cult guy that escaped but later died in Agip that narrated the ordeal before he died that gave us the tip that they were set up as thieves instead of an equally bad CULTIST. The things they claim was stolen was never found on them and perhaps some persons wanted them dead all their confessions were waved

There are reports that twelve people have been arrested in the Aluu Community where four students of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) were on Friday killed. The students names were given as Ugonna, Ilyod, Tekana and Chidiaka.

The four students were killed by a mob for allegedly stealing a laptop and high-end smartphones.

The police had earlier promised to arrest the perpetrators of the crime urging the youth of the university community not to take laws into their hands.

The Rivers State commissioner for Information, Ibim Semenitari tweeted at 4.22pm today from her handle (@ibimtoby) “PH government is outraged. The Governor has ordered investigations and already some arrests have been made.”

thegoodjoehunt: Why do you believe it is a fact, because someone posted it on a social media forum? Who was being interrogated, which police station. How did he get the information so fast? Is he Governor Amaechi on Nairaland? He never posted the source of his information. At least Obadiah777 says he is knotting information. This free style rapper is now saying he is obtaining transcript and you want it to be used as evidence of gun possession. Doesn't this sound funny.

Please let us leave all this people and wait for an official report.
Cool out bro. . .

I just provide updates as I see anything that adds to the discussion.

I'm not judging the boys, just providing clues.

None of this info is from me directly, just copy and paste from different sources to build a better picture.

Someone said the boys are innocent and only went to collect money, I post that. Someone says the boys are cultist, I post that.

Just gathering the evidence.

I do have the video of the interrogation which otokx sent to me where those things can clearly be heard.

But then again, the interogator could be talking about a previous robbery incident where someone said "na the guy wey want shoot im brother".

Evidence I've seen so far is that these boys are mafians at the wrong place at the wrong time.

obadiah777: OBVIOUSLY THEY WERE NOT ON A NOBLE MISSION. THEY WERE ON A SELFISH MISSION. IN A WAY THEY REALLY HAVE THEMSELVES TO BLAME. TO BE SO AMBITIOUS AS TO ENTER A BACKWARD TOWN IN THE DAWN OF THE MORNING ( ALL 5 OF YOU ) ( WHICH MEANS YOU ALL KEPT VIGIL FOR THIS MISSION CUZ I DONT SEE 5 PEOPLE WAKING UP AT THE SAME TIME FOR A 5 AM MISSION ). THE BOYS WERE EXTREMELY AMBITIOUS. STUPID ? YES. HOWEVER THEIR MISSION HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PEOPLE OF THE TOWN. THEIR DON LIVES IN THE TOWN. THEY WERE GOING TO COUP THE DON. I SHOULDNT REALLY BE SAYING THIS BUT LET ME EXPLAIN HOW THIS WORKS. WHOEVER HAS THE SCROLL IS THE DON. THE DON HIDES THE SCROLL SO THAT NO ONE CAN GET A HOLD OF IT. IF YOU WANT TO DECOUP A DON, YOU HAVE TO COERCE HIM TO GIVE YOU THE SCROLL. SOME DONS ARE MORE STUBBORN THAN OTHERS AND WILL NEED A LIL BIT MORE COERCING VIA BEATING OR JUST SHOW HIM THE KNIVES YOU HAVE SO HE WILL BE SCARED TO GIVE IT TO YOU ( HENCE WHY THEY HAD THE LITTLE KNIVES THEY HAD WITH THEM. IT WAS TO SCARE THE DON TO GIVE UP THE SCROLL ). LEADERSIP IN THE MAFIA IS JUST THAT SIMPLE, WHOMEVER IS IN OWNERSHIP OF THE SCROLL IS THE DON. IF YOU CAN COERCE HIM TO GIVE UP THE SCROLL TO YOU ? THEN YOU BECOME THE DON. THIS WAS THE MISSION THAT NIGHT. HOWEVER THE DON WAS SUSPICIOUS AND PERSONALLY I THINK THE DON SET THEM UP. I DONT KNOW IF HE ENVISIONED THAT THE VIGILANTES WILL GO AS FAR AS KILLING THEM, BUT THE DON IS THE KEY TO THIS WHOLE CASE
Thanks for the clarification.

Anyway, please tell us what dons do in cult.

And who are mafia? Vikings, Pyrates or who?

And who are 2.2?

I closed my mind to the horror of these boys fate with the consolation that these boys knew before joining cult that they are taking chances with their lives. They accepted all possibilities before agreeing to become cultists, knowing any day could be their day.

On the end, they were condemned by their own testimony, telling the village elder different stories because the elders don't know anything about scroll and pointman. They looked like armed robbers and they were there on a mission that an elder would not understand.

Since these boys wanted to become pointman themselves I take it they have a heart to commit similar to the fate they shared. So let's say a prayer for the dead, find the executioners and move on.

Another account. . . .

This is the real story: Ugonna has been complaining to his father that his house in school was being invaded all the time by robbers so he doesn’t sleep there. He had a friend in the community that he spends the night with. Himself and his roommate (Tekena) were coming back from where they went to spend the night when they met their other friends Chiadika and Lloyd so they decided to go together. On their way, Lloyd said that he needed to collect his money from someone who was owing him. In the cause of collecting his money, the whole situation went bizzare and turned into a fight. The guy who was owing them started screaming and the vigilante group was alerted and they thought they were the criminals disturbing the community since they were more in number than the guy they went to collect their money from. that’s the real story, no laptops or phone or cultism involved. Those guys were homely and they were all christains. Also their parents are very comfortable and provides them with everything they needed. Lord have mercy on us

I have just watched all 7 videos. . . mehn, these guys are brutal.

Ugonna was trying to defend his friends from the mob, and even consoling them. He was the last to the die. Even the guys that killed him were saying "oboy this boy na strong guy o!"

The shame about this matter is than one hundred people were talking at once, never giving the boys a chance to speak. Even when the boys were trying to speak, you could not know what they were saying.

Where are the so-called elders in this village who are supposed to give a fair abritration and allow everyone chance to speak?

I have seen jungle justice before where some guys from my estate have beaten a man (stealing food) half to death and are about to lynch him, when my father showed up and told the youth to let the man go because only a hungry man steals food, and he probably did so out of complete desperation. And that was what saved the man's life.

Even when my father was talking, the whole mob went quiet.

The elders in this village should be ashamed of themselves. How can one hundred men be shouting and beating 4 young boys and no elder can silence the crowd to hear the boys version of events?

Lloyd Michael was crying his eyes out because he could not convince anyone that they were not armed robbers cos everyone was shouting at the same time.

Tekena gave up early and just accepted his fate, after some stunning blows to the head.

Ugonna was still standing up, as if in disbelief that these guys are really about to kill him, still discussing the matter with confidence that this cannot happen to him.

Regardless of what these cult boys get up to in their spare time, none of these boys was caught in any act. They shoulda been allowed to speak for themselves.

This is barbaric, and any children watching this show of shame would grow to have little value for human life.

The lesson here to young men is stay away from cults cos you never know where your midnight parades would land you.

You hear of friends in cult dying in car crashes on their way back from midnight meeting. You hear of others who suffered a swift bullet to the head. This one is a case of cult boys who went on parole at the wrong place at the wrong time. Please, cult is not a game.

oyb: ibime, what is it that cultists actually do?
Not defending them, but for all my guys I grew up with, it was a rite of passage, just a phase in their lives.

In PH, many of these guys are just flexing with this cultist thing.

I probably woulda been flexing with them had I not left the country before uni.

So many guys here in London, very productive professionals doing well in life, when we meet up, they gist about their strongman days. I remember when P was detailed to bust bottle on F. He broke his head near Presidential hotel and went into hiding for a few days. Three years later, we're all drinking in London at a party with both of them gisting and laughing over it. It was all a game to both of them. An adrenaline rush per se.

Its a normal thing for many of these boys. Never would they imagine it would lead to this kind of death, tortured for 7 hours, knowing their time has come. Its a big shame.
